Artist Juan Pablo Roldan created this really cool series of sci-fi character art sketches for a personal project called "AnN 2056." I'm not sure what the artist plans on doing with this project, if anything, but the designs he has released for it so far are pretty awesome.

AMC has offered a sneak peek of the upcoming fourth episode of The Walking Dead Season 5. The episode is called "Slabtown," and in it we finally get to see what happened to Beth after she was kidnapped last season. It also gives us our first look at another group of survivors.  The episode is described as follows:

"Things appear safe and nice, but there is a bit of a dark side for another group of survivors."

Last night's episode was great! Just that opening scene was intensely amazing, and it only got better from there. If you haven't seen the episode yet, and you don't want anything spoiled for you, what in the hell did you click on the link for? Definitely don't watch the videos below. On top of the promo for next week, we also have some fun behind-the-scenes videos from episode 3. I enjoy watching these videos because they offer some good insight that the fans of the series should appreciate. If you haven't watched these in the past, I suggest you start.

"The Life and Death of Tommy Chaos and Stacey Danger" is easily one of the craziest and most entertaining short films you will have watched in months. The film comes from director Michael Lukk Litwak, and it's a ridiculously epic action-packed romantic adventure! It's an all-around great flick, but one of the main things that I love about it are the dinosaurs that have freakin' lasers attached their heads! According to the director, the movie was “once described by a drunk person as ‘a cross between Blue Valentine and Jurassic Park.’” Buckle up broncos, because you're about to embark on a wildly insane ride! Enjoy!

STAR WARS REBELS: Debut of Darth Vader - Clip

$

Because Star Wars Rebels is a few years before A New Hope, it's possible for a lot of our favorite original trilogy characters to make guest appearances. R2-D2 and C-3PO were the first of the classic characters to make a full guest appearance, and Bail Organa was the first prequel character to appear. During the ABC premiere of Rebels, Darth Vader made a kind of cameo appearance, making the first of likely more appearances on the show.

This video was shot by a camera pointed at a TV screen, so the quality leaves much to be desired. I'll update it with a better one once I find one, or you can email me if you find a better one.

Tim Burton's SUPERMAN LIVES Discussed by Screenwriter Dan Gilroy

tim-burtons-superman-lives-discussed-by-screenwriter-dan-gilroy

As silly as Tim Burton and Nicolas Cage's Superman Lives movie probably would have been, I still kind of wish we could have seen how is would have turned out, especially after everything I've learned about the production over the years. There's going to be a lot more to learn about it in a documentary currently in development called The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? wihch is being made by filmmaker Jon Schnepp. You can watch the trailer for that here.

We don't have to wait for that to be released to be filled in on some additional information about the film though. Movies.com talked to one of the screenwriters who worked on Superman Lives, Dan Gilroy, who recently wrote the script for the upcoming film Nightcrawler. During the interview, the writer was asked about his favorite script that he worked on that never made it to the screen, and he replied,

"I had some pretty high-profile ones. You know, I spent a year working with Tim Burton on his Superman Lives movie and the day they pulled the plug on that was very, very disappointing. It was disappointing for all of us: for me, for Tim, for Nic Cage, for John Peters. We were very far along and Warner Bros. had gone through a cycle where nothing they were making was connecting and they were hemorrhaging money and they just didn't feel that they could sustain making that film. So that was a major disappointment. I think Tim would have made a really marvelous film out of what we had come up with. That was hard."

He went on to talk about how he felt when the movie was cancelled,

"It's a wound. It's like getting punched in the face. You spend a year pouring all your artistic and creative energy into it and suddenly it evaporates and goes away in the space of a phone call. And you have to regroup. It's a disappointment, though obviously there are greater disappointments in life than that, but you have to take the time to say that hurts and figure out what that means and as honestly as possible move on and continue what you're doing. I think Tim and all of us went through that process. It was very painful."

Gilroy then discussed a scene from the script that he's bummed will never see the light of day.

"Tim had the idea, which was really the driving force of the movie, that Jor-el didn't have the chance to tell Kal-el when he put him in the little spaceship meteorite where he came from or who he was. So poor little Kal-el grew up on Earth having no idea where these powers came from or who he was, and I always thought that was a really inverted, deconstructionist element to bring to the story. I loved it and working with Tim we tried to explore it as much as possible. I'd love to see it happen some day. I'm a big Tim Burton fan."

You know how Burton's Batman became a superhero movie classic? Do you think that Superman Lives could have been just as awesome?

THE FLASH 75th Anniversary Variant Cover Art by Joshua Middleton

The 75th anniversary of DC Comics' The Flash is upon us, and to celebrate, artist Joshua Middleton created an incredibly fun piece of variant art. According to the artist, to mark the 75th anniversary of the superhero, DC has The Flash running through the covers of a bunch of other comics. The artist ended up using the the cover art from Detective Comics' 67th issue as his inspiration. He explains,

"I was asked to look through all of the classic Detective Comics covers to find a good one for The Flash to run through, and we wound up with issue #67. As soon as I saw that ostrich, I knew we had a winner. Man, comics used to be some crazy fun.

"So here is the original Jerry Robinson cover and my follow-up. I wanted to keep some of the classic feel of the old cover, so I played it pretty straight- pencils, inks, and relatively simple color utilizing the same palette as the original."

I included the original Detective Comics cover art below so that you can compare the two. I love what MIddleton did with it.

New CONSTANTINE Featurette and Promo - "To Hell and Back: Non Est Asylum"

I don't know if you've had a chance to watch the first episode of Constantine or not, but it was really freakin' good! I loved what I saw in the first episode, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here. A new featurette has been released called "To Hell and Back: Non Est Asylum," and it takes us behind the scenes with the cast and creators of the supernatural series. Matt Ryan, David Goyer, Geoff Johns, and Daniel Cerone talk about adapting the DC Comic, the Constantine character, and more. I also included a promo trailer for the second episode of the season, called "The Darkness Beneath."

Based on the wildly popular comic book series "Hellblazer" from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine specializes in giving hell... hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to leave his do-gooder life behind. But when demons target Liv, the daughter of one of Constantine's oldest friends, he's reluctantly thrust back into the fray - and he'll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it's revealed that Liv's "second sight," an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences, is a threat to a mysterious new evil that's rising in the shadows. And now it's not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world - and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.

The next episode of Constantine will air on NBC on October 31st.

Gal Gadot as WONDER WOMAN by Garnabiel Kraken

$

The casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was met with a good amount of jeers from geeks. I'm personally optimistic and trusting that the same people who cast Henry Cavill as Superman know what they are doing. Lots of early detractors of Ben Affleck as Batman have started to change their tune as more things from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice emerge.

Outside of the Fast and Furious franchise, Gadot is not very well known. With Dawn of Justice, the upcoming Justice League films, and a solo Wonder Woman movie, she's going to be a very well known name. Gadot is going to be Wonder Woman for the next six years or more, so the haters are going to have to hate for a long time.

Artist Garnabiel Kraken has created a really great pencil sketch of Gadot as Wonder Woman. There is meticulously detailed shading in the armor and the artist has used Linda Carter's arms. Gadot is using Gym Jones, the same trainer as the cast of 300 and Man of Steel, so expect her to be a stronger fiercer Gadot than we've ever seen.

First Reviews for Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR Roll In

first-reviews-for-christopher-nolans-interstellar-roll-in

Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated sci-fi film Interstellar was recently screened for members of the press, and the reviews are mostly positive. Many of the reviews praise the incredible looking visuals of the film and technical direction, but it seems like the emotional core of the story didn't hit with everyone. I try to stay away from reviews for movies like this until after I see it, but I couldn't help myself this time around. I had to read them! The movie is set to be released in theaters a week from tomorrow, and I already have my tickets to watch it in 70mm IMAX.

I included several excerpts from certain interviews below for you to read. You can click on the links to read the full interviews for each one.  Look them over if you want and let us know if they sway your excitement for the movie in any way.

Scott Foundas at Variety:

To infinity and beyond goes “Interstellar,” an exhilarating slalom through the wormholes of Christopher Nolan’s vast imagination that is at once a science-geek fever dream and a formidable consideration of what makes us human. As visually and conceptually audacious as anything Nolan has yet done, the director’s ninth feature also proves more emotionally accessible than his coolly cerebral thrillers and Batman movies, touching on such eternal themes as the sacrifices parents make for their children (and vice versa) and the world we will leave for the next generation to inherit. An enormous undertaking that, like all the director’s best work, manages to feel handcrafted and intensely personal, “Interstellar” reaffirms Nolan as the premier big-canvas storyteller of his generation, more than earning its place alongside “The Wizard of Oz,” “2001,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “Gravity” in the canon of Hollywood’s visionary sci-fi head trips. Global box office returns should prove suitably rocket-powered.

Tim Robey at The Telegraph:

Christopher Nolan is a merchant of awe, which is not to say he’s always selling it at the right price, or that customer satisfaction is guaranteed 100 per cent of the time. Even by his standards, Interstellar is a wild leap of faith: an epic of science fiction which puts equal stress on both words.

Todd McCarthy at The Hollywood Reporter:

Preoccupied with nothing less than the notion that humankind will one day need to migrate from Earth to some other planet we can call home, Interstellar so bulges with ideas, ambitions, theories, melodrama, technical wizardry, wondrous imagery and core emotions that it was almost inevitable that some of it would stick while other stuff would fall to the floor. Feeling very much like Christopher Nolan’s personal response to his favorite film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, this grandly conceived and executed epic tries to give equal weight to intimate human emotions and speculation about the cosmos, with mixed results, but is never less than engrossing, and sometimes more than that.

Geoffrey McNab at Independent:

Interstellar is the astounding new $160 million sci-fi epic from Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan. Made under the supervision of leading theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, the film (bound to be a front runner in this year’s Oscar race) launches a twin pronged attack on our emotions and on our intellects. It combines abstruse ideas about gravity, matter and time with old fashioned, hyper-charged family melodrama.

Drew McWeeny at HitFix:

I was moved by “Interstellar,” and there are stretches where it is as good and as pure as anything Nolan’s made. You can feel just how important all of it is to him in every frame of the thing. I don’t love all of the film’s dramatic choices, though. It’s a film I look forward to revisiting, and considering just how much my own son loves space and space travel already, I’ll definitely be taking him to see it. The best the film can hope for is that it will remind young viewers that there is something else besides this planet, and there is so much of this universe that we don’t remotely understand, and if there’s any hope for us, it is by looking up. Nolan’s fervent belief in that message alone makes this something worth seeing, and if it can inspire a new generation of dreamers, then even better.

Edward Douglas at Coming Soon:

“Interstellar” is another one of Christopher Nolan’s more personal mind-f*ck movies which he’s done so well when not directing adventures of a certain cowled vigilante. While it may not be as immediate as “Inception” and it wears most of its most obvious influences on its sleeve, it’s still very much the type of intelligent spin on a specific genre we’ve come to expect from the filmmaker.

Scott Mendelson at Forbes:

Enough of Interstellar is thoughtful, engaging, and visually dynamic that it feels almost petty to acknowledge that the picture doesn’t quite hold together as a movie. Chris Nolan is one of the more talented directors working in the industry right now, and he has directed some of my favorite films of the last fifteen years. He is not singularly responsible for keeping the notion of the original big-budget Hollywood spectacular alive in an era of reboots and adaptations and the (relative) artistic failure of his latest opus shouldn’t mean anything other than the film doesn’t quite work for me as well as I had hoped. Interstellar is certainly a noble effort that wears its heart on its sleeve and arguably should still be seen on the biggest IMAX screen possible if you had the slightest interest in the project leading up to its release. But in terms of what Mr. Nolan is capable of and in terms of the film viewed in a relative vacuum, Interstellar is not quite a success. I can’t insult those involved by grading on an admiration-based curve.

Alonso Duralde at The Wrap:

The universe-spanning saga — starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain — is challenging, provocative, and gorgeous. Until it isn’t. To paraphrase Christopher Nolan‘s “The Dark Knight,” we don’t get the prestige filmmakers we need, we get the ones we deserve. And one of the ones we seemingly deserve is Nolan himself, a filmmaker with a keen visual sense but also one who undercuts the big, challenging ideas of his movies with unnecessarily tidy resolutions.

Dave Calhoun at Time Out London:

Christopher Nolan’s overwhelming, immersive and time-bending space epic ‘Interstellar’ makes Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’ feel like a palate cleanser for the big meal to come. Where ‘Gravity’ was brief, contained and left the further bounds of the universe to our imagination, ‘Interstellar’ is long, grand, strange and demanding – not least because it allows time to slip away from under our feet while running brain-aching ideas before our eyes. It’s a bold, beautiful cosmic adventure story with a touch of the surreal and the dreamlike, and yet it always feels grounded in its own deadly serious reality.

William Bibbiani at Crave Online:

Interstellar would be a stunning piece of cinema if you weren’t supposed to think about it, but Nolan’s film challenges his audience with too many relevant social concepts, doomsday scenarios and impossible moral choices to prevent them from turning off their brains. And since your brains are already working, you might as well question all the gaps in rudimentary storytelling that derail this otherwise ambitious and beautifully produced popcorn movie, which only falls flat because it seems to be vying for the role of “best movie ever made.” Interstellar forces you to be too smart to enjoy Interstellar. I don’t think very many movies have had that problem before.

Emma Dibdin at Digital Spy:

Interstellar is a spine-tingling blend of brains and heart, a high concept sci-fi opera that’s as unafraid of cerebral ideas as it is of heart-on-sleeve emotion, even if its ambitious reach occasionally exceeds its narrative grasp. It’s the first film of Nolan’s that could justifiably be called sentimental, but it earns every moment of unrestrained emotion with another of quiet fortitude.

Clayton Davis at Awards Circuit:

Christopher Nolan. A staple of blockbuster cinema for over a decade has crafted another technical marvel for the world to indulge. “Interstellar” has the Academy Award nominated screenwriter and director taking new liberties in his style and approach to character development while paying homage to classic filmmakers from decades past. “Interstellar” is a roaring achievement of technical proficiency, faithful to new ideas for our own existence and where we might find ourselves exploring.

Mike Ryan at Screen Crush:

‘Interstellar’ is a good movie that so desperately wants to be important. That sentence is going to read as churlish, but I do admire ‘Interstellar’ for at least attempting to be something that’s not dumb. There are already too many dumb things we are subjected to on a daily basis. And ‘Interstellar’ is ambitious, even though there are a lot of head-scratching scenes. Yet, there we still are, spinning out of control with the reality that Nolan has created – and it’s only when we stop spinning, when we look at it from afar, that we kind of realize how absurd it all was … even though it leaves us craving a little more.

Tim Grierson at ScreenDaily:

An emotional powerhouse when it isn’t hokey – and a stunning spectacle when it doesn’t get bogged down in plot logistics – Interstellar is the clearest example yet of filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s desire to wow us with ambitious big-budget projects that balance cutting-edge effects and bold dramatic crescendos.

James Rocchi at The Playlist:

After all the jaw-dropping cinematography and carefully-buffed CGI, in fact, “Interstellar” winds up fitting into a fairly narrow and deeply tired sub-genre alongside films like “Frequency,” “Contact,” and even “Field of Dreams”: Dad Issues from Dimension X. It’s impossible to not admire the technical achievements of “Interstellar,” but as Michael Bay and so much more modern moviegoing has proved, rapturous visuals can’t make up for a ruptured script. Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” spends hundreds of millions to take the audience on a journey to the farthest parts of the cosmos … so they can be told sentiments as close, and as cheap, as any of the offerings at your local Hallmark card retailer.

Eric Kohn at Indiewire:

That Nolan can do so much with such a grand canvas and studio money shows the extent to which he has managed to carve out a niche in the industry. Brainy and exciting at the same time, “Interstellar” invalidates the need for mindless Hollywood product. No matter its shortcomings, the movie achieves an impressive balancing act. It turns the mysteries of the universe into a cinematic playground, but for every profound or visually arresting moment, it also encourages you to to think.

THE SIMPSONS Showrunner Reveals Brilliant Idea for How it Should End

the-simpsons-showrunner-reveals-brilliant-idea-for-how-it-should-end

The Simpsons' showrunner Al Jean has worked on the animated series since 1989 when he came on as a writer. If anyone has a say in how this show should end (if it ever ends), it's him or creator Matt Groening. In an interview with CNN, Jean reveals how he thinks the ideal way to end the series would be. He wants The Simpsons to have a circular narrative, and his idea involves going back to the very first episode of the series that aired on Fox. That episode happens to be the famous Christmas special, “Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire.” Here’s the idea that Jean came up with.

“There is an ending I've always had in mind, which was, I thought it would be cool if in the last episode they're getting ready to go to a Christmas pageant, and they go to the Christmas pageant that opens up the first episode, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire," so the entire series is a loop with no end. That would be my way of concluding the run, but nobody has asked me for it yet. “

I absolutely love that. It would be the perfect and most honorable way to close out the series. I grew up watching The Simpsons, it's one of those thing that shaped my childhood right on into and through adulthood. I actually got a little emotional thinking about the show actually coming to an end while writing this. That was weird, but it has just been a part of my life for so long. The show is currently in its 26th season, and according to Jean it's still going strong.

“I think we're the highest-rated show on the network, so it's not like there's an ending coming soon.”

But, when it does come to an end, this is the ending that I would like to see happen. What do you think about his idea on closing out the series?

I really love what 3D printers are capable of doing these days, especially in the geek world. People are making all kinds of cool toys to play around with, like these weapons from the hit video game Destiny. The Thunderlord Exotic Heavy Machine Gun comes from Kirby Downey, and the Conduit F3 Legendary Fusion Rifle is by Elliott Viles

If you're one of the lucky bastards that actually has a 3D printer, you can get the free downloadable files to print out and make your own Destiny weapons here and here. Thanks to XombieDirge for the heads up on these.

KRYPTON TV Series Being Developed by David Goyer?

$

krypton-tv-series-being-developed-by-david-goyer

The same site who broke the news that Supergirl and X-Men TV series are in development, Bleeding Cool, is back with another cool report. They have learned from their sources that Man of Steel writer and producer David Goyer is currently developing a TV series called Krypton, which was inspired by Gotham's success.

Goyer seems to have his hand in all things DC, from movies to TV. The guy has just engulfed himself in that world. I'm sure he'll have a long standing relationship with Warner Bros. in helping them bring these things to life for audiences to enjoy.

As for Gotham, there are no solid details on what the series will be about but the report speculates with the following:

"The name suggests a pre-Superman drama set on the planet Krypton, maybe involving the House Of El, maybe Brainiac, maybe an end of the world cult, maybe lots of dragons flying around the place."

That makes a lot of sense, especially if it was inspired by Gotham. The most that we've ever really seen of the Kryptonian lifestyle was in Man of Steel. Then there are comics such as the World Of Krypton stories and For The Man Who Has Everything, which have explored certain aspects of Superman's home planet.

It would really be interesting to see a series dedicated to the planet and how it thrived all of those years before it met its demise. I'd be completely on board to watch a show like this, and I would love to see it go into full on development. If it does, I wonder if they will use the same style and designs that we saw in Man of Steel, or if they would completely overhaul it and start from scratch.

Goyer is currently producing NBC's adaptation of Constantine along with Da Vinci's Demons on STARZ. He also wrote the first draft of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Dredd producer Adi Shankar has released all six episodes of his animated miniseries Judge Dredd: Superfiend. Each of the episodes run between three and seven minutes long, and it's absolutely insane. The story and animation are extremely dark and crude, but the style is all part of the personality of the series, so it all works. Shanker explained why he went in this stylistic direction, saying,

This "Bootleg Universe" mini-series was made in the tradition of Saturday morning cartoons based on our favorite sci-fi comic book characters. The look was inspired by 90’s MTV, “Ren & Stimpy,” with a dash of “ReBoot” juxtaposed with the trademark violence found in everything I have done. Enjoy.

This was made as a thank you to you the fans for supporting Dredd and making it a cult hit.

The mini-series tells a solid story that fans of Judge Dredd are sure to enjoy. Make sure to check this out when you get a chance!

Marvel in Negotiations with Benedict Cumberbatch to Play DOCTOR STRANGE!

It looks like Marvel has finally chosen an actor to play Doctor Strange in the Scott Derrickson directed film. After years of rumors, lists and speculation, Deadline reports that Benedict Cumberbatch is their man!

Over the last four years, there have been eighteen actors rumored for the coveted role, and Cumberbatch was among them. Joaquin Phoenix was in discussions for the part for awhile, but the talks eventually fizzled and the actor dropped out. Marvel had to go back to square one when that happened. Now they are back on track and ready to move forward.

The report says that the studio is about to start the negotiation process, which means both parties are interested in sealing the deal. Deadline also says they expect the deal to close, so I guess we can too.

Doctor Strange is based on the character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and he made his first appearance in 1963's "Strange Tales" #110. Strange was a brilliant neurosurgeon, but after a car accident, he loses the precision in his hands, and he goes on a quest to regain his former skills. This leads him on a path to becoming the "Master of the Mystic Arts."

Ever since Cumberbatch was first rumored to be up for the Sorcerer Supreme, I liked the idea of him playing the character. I've been a fan of Doctor Strange since I was a kid, and I think the actor will give fans a kick ass version of the character. Are you excited to hear that Cumberbatch will be playing Stephen Strange?

Dudes Wear "Sexy" Halloween Costumes

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love so much about it. I love seeing fun, creative costumes. I love parties and candy and things that are a little bit scary. What I don’t love are the "sexy" costumes Halloween stores and brands try to push on seemingly every woman. On top of being too cold for the season in 99% of climates, they are hella uncomfortable and oftentimes just plain stupid. They generally don’t make any sense, like the ladybug costume featured in this video (why are the spots on the boobs when they should be on the back? oh, because there is no fabric on the back), and generally aren’t even attractive. Here’s one that doesn’t make any sense, is unattractive, and has the benefit of being outrageously expensive. It’s the trifecta of suck.

Generally, guys don’t seem to mind these horrible, horrible costumes, or more likely, they just don’t have to think about them. Buzzfeed put together this funny video in which men try on some of the dumbest slutty costumes out there, with interesting results. And while I don’t think we should put any more pressure on women to conform to a man’s desires, one of these dudes is right — it is so much cooler to make your own costume.

A Bat-News reader at a nutrition class taught by Jalali over the weekend and had the following things to share.

Because it's a source from a source we are throwing a big rumor warning on the post despite it aligning with previously rumored/reported news.

2 Maybe 3 Bat Vehicles

We've seen the Batmobile that Zack Snyder tweeted. We've also reported that there will be a flying Bat vehicle. According to Jalali there are two Batmobiles. This could mean a total of three vehicles in the movie, or Jalali has mistaken the flying one as a Batmobile.

2 Batsuits

The "Sad" Batman photo and the armored Batman seen at Comic-Con have already been reported. Jalali has added that the armored suit has Kryptonite all over it and can shoot missiles —no word on if those also have Kryptonite.

Shirtless Bruce Wayne

Jalali says that Affleck will be showing off his new Batman physique with a shirtless scene of Bruce Wayne looking over a destroyed city. Depending on where this is on the timeline is could be Gotham or Metropolis.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice fights across theaters March 25th, 2016 (USA).

Within the past year, we’ve seen Sesame Street parodies for The Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Star Wars. Cookie Monster continues his journey through blockbuster films with this send up of the Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. In “Furry Potter and The Goblet of Cookies,” Cookie Monster must learn to follow Professor Crumblemore's directions. Cookie Monster is decked out in Hogwarts-style clothing and Harry Potter’s signature glasses. The only thing he’s missing is the scar on his forehead, but that’d be hard to do considering Cookie Monster has no forehead. He's just eyeballs sitting on top of blue fur with some dude's hand up his butt. It's no wonder he turned to a life binge eating.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS - Watch First 6 Minutes of the Vampire Mockumentary

What We Do in the Shadows wasn’t just the funniest film I watched at Sundance this year, it was the funniest movie I’ve seen in years! The mockumentary, written and directed by Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Taika Waititi (Eagle vs Shark, Boy), does for vampires what This Is Spinal Tap did for rock bands. The first six minutes of this fake vampire documentary have been released for your viewing pleasure. This and the trailer that was previously released barely scratch the surface of the laughs in this uproarious comedy that follows a group of centuries and millennia old vampires who are trying to adapt to live in the modern world. The pace ramps up later in the film, and the gags just get better and better. I’m very pleased that they are keeping those best bits tucked away for now. If you want some more info on the film be sure to check out our full review and video review from Sundance.

Jonathan Brugh, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer, Stuart Rutherford, and Jackie van Beek also star in the movie alongside Clement and Waititi. The film opens in the UK on November 21st, and will continue its festival run in the US, with screenings at AFI Fest and the Virginia Film Festival in November.
