Little Kid Superhero Portraits Will Make You Say, "Awww..."

$

This Friday you are likely to see countless little kids dressed up as a variety of superheroes. In fact, I recently got a costume preview of some kids I know, and one was a Flash/Wolverine mashup. His brother was Captain America, only with a cape instead of a shield. It's significantly less practical, but points for style. Their other brother was just a regular Batman, which was kind of disappointing, but I get it. In today’s Batman climate, the hero is too intense to mess around with.

Not so intense are these adorable portraits of superheroes as little kids by artist Rocky Davies. Can you even imagine how sweet little Steve Rogers was? I bet he tried to help old ladies carry their groceries home but was too weak to actually lift the bags. Some of the others are still cute, but a little disturbing if you really think about it. Like how did little Nick Fury lose an eye? And what kind of mad scientist came up with the potion that gave Tony Stark early facial hair without any other signs of puberty? (I really hope it was little Bruce Banner, not pictured.)

John Williams to Score STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Trailer in November

It looks like Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams are in the process of getting a trailer ready for Star Wars: Episode VII. John Williams Fan Network is reporting that film composer John Williams will be doing an original musical score for the trailer, and that he will be recording it on November 15th. This is what the site is claiming:

Following the rumor that the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII will include original music written by John Williams, one of our sources claims that the Maestro will indeed record the new music next month in Los Angeles:

A reliable source just said JW received a trailer from JJ Abrams on Monday, Oct 20.  JW has already written new Star Wars music to accompany this trailer.  This new trailer music will feature new music [sic] and will be recorded on November 15 in LA with full orchestra.  Still determining if the score will be recorded in London due to advanced age of composer/conductor.  14 hour flight to LA not too kind on 82 year old [sic].  This is all a secret and this message will be deleted shortly

We've heard rumors that the first trailer would be released later this year. It is possible. Two of the biggest most anticipated films that Disney is releasing this year is Big Hero 6, which comes out on November 7th, but that's prior to the date that Willaims is supposed to be recording the music, so we can probably shouldn't expect the trailer to be attached to that release. The other big movie that Disney is releasing this year is Into the Woods. That movie comes out on December 25th, so it's more likely the trailer would be attached to that if the trailer is going to be released this year.

Of course, Disney could attach it to another big movie that doesn't come from the studio, but I just don't see the Mouse House doing that. They are kind of stingy in that way. Either way, they are going to have a fully completed trailer ready to go in the near future, and it's only a matter of time before fans are treated to it.

The poster above is fan art, but I couldn't find the artist who created it. I came across it on Pinterest though.

I'm guessing Martin Revelation Films syncs Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On" to every new trailer, because how else would they know? The timing of the edit, the lyrics that tie directly to what's on screen, and even the dropping of Mjolnir sync so perfectly that you can't help but laugh.

If for some reason you were captured by HYDRA and were unable to watch the official trailer or read our analysis, check them out before watching this mashup.

Trailer for Iranian Vampire Western A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night premiered at Sundance earlier this year and got really good reviews. It is also the world’s first Iranian vampire western, so you definitely want to check out the trailer, just for the sake of experiencing history. Also, writer-director Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut is interesting enough to warrant a watch. It looks stylish and atmospheric and hella good fun, and the use of a chador as a vampire cloak is pretty boss. If you were into Let the Right One In, you are probably going to be down for this.

Here is the description from the Sundance Film Festival Guide:

Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom... blood red.

Last year, when we posted Ashley Wood’s fantastic prototype figure for Iron Man, we were told that 3A figures for Doctor Doom, Ultron, and Spiderman were also on their way. It’s been a long wait, but 3A's Doc Doom 1/6th scale figure is finally here. Not only did Wood once again hit it out of the park, but this new collectible figure also comes in three different editions: Classic, Stealth, and Ghost. Wood’s designs have this subtle stretching of proportions that retain the characters’ classic looks while at the same time giving them this totally unique feel that is instantly recognizable. Doctor Doom will be available October 31st. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another year or two for Ultron and Spiderman.

Thanks to Geek Art for the tip.

Chris Hemsworth on Thor's Journey in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to be amazingly insane! A lot is going to happen in that movie, and at the end of it The Avengers aren't going to be the same. What happens in this film is going to help set up the Civil War storyline that we will see in Captain America 3. I can't wait to see exactly what's in store for us in this movie. Thanks to Chris Hemsworth, though, we have a little information on Thor's journey throughout the story. BuzzFeed had the opportunity to talk to the actor on the set of the film a few months ago. Hemsworth and Chris Evans were shooting a battle scene the day they were there that director Joss Whedon described as a "miserable place; everywhere robots." When talking about shooting a scene like that Hemsworth said,

"The biggest thing is just not looking stupid. You’ve just got to remember there’s another 30 different stages that are going to come into it before anyone will see that on screen. You know the rhythm of it, [but] what becomes a challenge is trying to not repeat the same thing all the time. So you’ve got to work that bit harder to see what else you can do with the character."

I can imagine that after playing the same character over and over again, it would be hard to keep things fresh and change things up a bit. The actor then talked about what Thor will be doing in the movie other than helping the Avengers team stop Ultron from destroying the world.

"It was just lightening up a bit. [Age of Ultron] gave us room to kind of make him a little more grounded and human and have him in some civilian clothes and mixing it up at a party. I want to do those scenes more. It’s what I loved about the first [Thor film]. There was an innocence and naïveté to him, which as he matured into the king of the second [Thor film] — or the rightful king — we sort of lost a little bit of that. That was that story."

Obviously one of the main things that Thor won't have to worry about this time around is his villainous half-brother Loki. Hemsworth said,

"I mean, [I] loved working with Tom [Hiddleston], and that relationship is so much fun. But that also kept us in a bit of a box, because, you know, three films on one relationship, how much further can you go? What else can you do different? It was nice to have a whole different sort of motivation."

I'll admit, it's going to be a little weird not seeing Loki in this movie, but he'll have his day in the spotlight again. I don't think he'll be missed much by audiences in Age of Ultron, especially with everything else they have going on. Hemsworth was then pressed for details about Thor's motivation in the story, about which he only said,

“Whereas the first [Avengers] was [about] the journey of the team, I think, this time, you have six or seven things going on, which I was really impressed by. I like where Thor has been taken in this. He sort of sees a whole other side to what’s going on in the conflict, and another potential threat. And he kind of segues a bit and has his own little sort of journey.”

Thor has been a great character to follow in these movies, and it will be good to see him completely out of his element this time around. When it comes to the physicality of the role, Chris Hemsworth admitted,

"It’s not so much the staying in shape; Once you get to the shape, maintaining it — it’s work, but it’s less work than trying to get it off to do another role, or to put it back on when you start from scratch. That’s been tough."

Apparently, when he filmed Ron Howard's In the Heart of the Sea in-between Thor: the Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron, he had to lose some weight, and it was difficult for him to pump himself back up for Age of Ultron

BuzzFeed notes that Hemsworth will being shooting Thor 3 in 2016, which means the next installment could be released in either the May 5th, 2017 or November 3rd, 2017. Those are Marvel movie release dates that have yet to be officially claimed.

Jhall Comics has created this cartoon style Pokemon poster, and it shows us what it looks like when all 151 original Pokemon are battling each other simultaneously. The result is very cool and totally crammed with all the Pokemon anyone could ever need. If you like the image, you can buy prints, posters, t-shirts, hoodies, phone cases, and more right here and here. Pokeman is one of those franchises that passed me by. It was was created and became popular during a time where my geek energies were being focused elsewhere. I do appreciate that people are really into it though.

Will Harley Quinn be Played by Cara Delevingne in SUICIDE SQUAD?

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are deep in the process of casting David Ayer's adaptation of Suicide Squad. According to Latino-Review, the studio is looking at including a "villainous female role in the film," which the site speculates is Harley Quinn. The report also says that the studio wants to cast English actress and model Cara Delevingne to take on the role, and she definitely looks like she could fit the part Quinn. She's absolutely beautiful, and it seems like she has got a little bit of crazy behind those eyes of hers.

The site notes that earlier drafts of the script didn't include Harley Quinn, but it looks like that may be changing because Ayer is going to take a crack at rewriting the script himself, and Quinn is a character that he could easily include. After all, she's part of the recent incarnation of the Suicide Squad, and she's a fan favorite. I've been a huge fan of Harley Quinn since she was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series. It's going to be so cool to see her brought to life on the big screen.

Delevingne is also up for a role in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie. She had a small role in Anna Karenina and also has a small part in the upcoming Pan movie being directed by Joe Wright. She will next be seen opposite Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl in the thriller The Face of an Angel.

There's no confirmed casting at this time, but Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling, and Margot Robbie have all been rumored to be up for parts in the movie as well. If these all go through, it would be one hell of a crazy good cast. I'm really hopping that Harley Quinn ends up being in this movie, because she would add such an amazing element to the story and the group of characters.

Awe-Inspiring Fantasy Short AMBITION with GAME OF THRONES Star Aiden Gillen

Game of Thrones actor Aiden Gillen stars in this fascinating fantasy short film called "Ambition." In it he plays a master magician who is giving a lesson to his apprentice. As he does this, he transforms a wasteland of dust and rock into planets, asteroids, satellites, and other objects as they revolve around the sun. The short is beautiful and entrancing, and the visuals are awesome. After watching it, I kind of think Gillen would make an amazing Doctor Strange. He definitely proves that he has what it takes in this amazing short.

"Ambition" was made in collaboration with the European Space Agency, and it serves as a tribute to how contemporary space exploration is crucial to searching for clues to our own origins. When commenting on the film, author Alastair Reynolds said, "As a science fiction writer, it's hard to think of a more stirring theme than the origin and ultimate destiny of life in the universe."

The film was directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Tomek Bagiński, who shot the film on location in Iceland. It premiered at the British Film Institute’s Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder festival in London.

Kevin Feige Confirms Roster Change in AVENGERS 3

We've previously heard rumors that there is going to be a major change in the roster of Avengers superheroes when we finally get to The Avengers 3. That report stated that Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow may not be involved, and that other characters such as Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Ms. Marvel, and/or others could step in.

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Avengers line-up is definitely set for some changes. He explained,

"The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins. It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was.
"I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the roster is altered by the finale of this film."

The "this film" he is referring to is Avengers: Age of Ultron. As you saw in the trailer, things get incredibly intense between the Avengers team, and that is going to carry on into the Civil War storyline that we will see in Captain America 3. By the end of that movie, the Avengers team we all know and love in the Marvel cinematic universe will be unrecognizable in terms of being a team.

By the end of Captain America 3, who knows which Avengers will be around to pick up the mantle for Avengers 3. Marvel knows, but they aren't saying. That's ok, though. In time all will be revealed, and this stuff always makes for good conversation and speculation.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith is prepping to shoot his next movie called Yoga Hosers, which has been described as an action-adventure comic book movie. Johnny Depp will join Smith in the film along with their daughters Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith.

In preparation for his role in the movie Smith shaved his beard, and posted a picture of himself on Twitter, and he looks completely unrecognizable! He also looks 10 years younger. The photo came with the following caption:

"Look at this goofy spaz. This is me, beardless, for the @YogaHosers green screen shoot. #FaceBrazilian"

I don't know if anyone has ever seen Smith without his signature beard. I'm pretty sure he was born with it.

Yoga Hosers centers on "15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with, according to the producers, 'all seven Charkas, one Warrior Pose at a time.'"

The rest of the cast for the film includes Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach, Adam Brody, and Harley Morenstein

Mission Details Revealed in Marvel's AGENT CARTER Synopsis

mission-details-revealed-in-marvels-agent-carter-synopsis

Marvel has released a full detailed synopsis for their upcoming new series Agent Carter. The show doesn't premiere until 2015, and up until this point we really didn't know what exactly it would entail other than it would include the return of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) from Captain America: The First Avengers, as well as add a some new characters. The synopsis lays out what kind of secret missions Carter will be doing for Stark in the the series.

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

It’s 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America.

When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy – the only person he can trust – to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he’s going to be able to keep up with Peggy.

If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

This sounds like it has the potential to be an incredibly entertaining series, and I'm looking forward to seeing how creators Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely bring these ideas to life for audiences. I think it's really cool that we will get the opportunity to know the characters Carter and Stark a lot better thanks to this show. Agent Carter is set to premiere early next.

Funny Halloween Rap Exposes All Our REALISTIC FEARS

It’s fun to scare ourselves silly watching horror films with zombies, demonic possession, ghosts, and psychotic mass murderers, but in real life, we aren’t likely to encounter any of those things, so we don’t fear them in our day to day lives. But that’s not to say that we aren’t walking around afraid of things. Our fears are a lot more basic. Like falling into the oven. That’s my number one fear. I am afraid that one day I’ll open the (hot, obviously) oven and slip and fall and burn my face. It would make a terrible horror movie, but it’s also more realistic than a zombie apocalypse.

Just in time for Halloween, PBS Digital Studios and Coma Niddy have put together this terrifying rap called "Realistic Fears," and it's full of the things we're really afraid of, like ordering the wrong thing at a restaurant. It’s pretty funny, and the final fear is one that terrifies us all.

Ruffalo on Hulk, The Vision, Science Bros, and Romance in AGE OF ULTRON

In June, a bunch of press were able to visit the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron. During their visit a press panel was held with Mark Ruffalo who plays Bruce Banner and the Hulk. We have the full transcript, and Ruffalo talks about further developing his character, the dynamic between Banner and Stark, Paul Bettany as The Vision, the Banner/Hulk dynamic and balance in the Avengers, and he also addresses rumors of Banner and Black Widow's romantic entanglement and lots more.

Do you have your phone with you to show us more stuff?

"I don’t have my phone with me.  They, they purposely left pockets out of my costume for some bizarre reason now.  Maybe that’s it."

So you got the script and you were noticing that the beginning has you in relationship with Scarlet.  Were you like, 'This is gonna’ be a very tough job'?

"Uh, we don’t have a relationship – What kind of relationship?"

We heard that there was a closer relationship between the characters? [Laughs]

*Looks at unit publicist*

"Did you tell him that?

Oh yeah I’ll – I’ll play, I’ll play along. Yeah, yeah. There’s a really important relationship between [laughs]…. Um I was just happy that I was in the movie at all. And any scenes that I got to be with her were a big bonus."

It seems like the response to The Avengers, the way the Hulk was handled and the way that Bruce was handled, it feels like Marvel finally figured how that character – and you guys were finally able to make the definitive Hulk.  This time around what is the balance between Banner and Hulk and is there a still a struggle to unleash him now that he’s a hero?

"There’s more of him and I think there’s still [LAUGHS]…  I, I don’t think he’s – Banner and Hulk have kinda come to a détente. [LAUGHS] We left the last one with this idea that you know I’m always angry and therefore I have some control over it but like anger, when you think you have control over it, you absolutely don’t.  And so there’s still a wrangling going. There is a confrontation [LAUGHS] brewing between the Hulk consciousness and the Banner consciousness that I think we’re starting to head into right now."

We got a really good idea of the relationship between Tony and Bruce in Avengers and in Iron Man 3 it’s hinted that it’s continued. We’ve heard that they both have an extremely important role in the creation of Ultron. That seemed like a very core relationship. Can you talk about that?

"Yeah, basically Tony took the orphan banner in, into the fold. I was just made aware of where my apartment was in the, in the Stark Complex, the Stark Tower. And I think they’re working. I have a lab and Banner’s working on a lot of stuff, and Tony’s working on his own stuff and they complement each other. You could tell that when into this film that they’ve been working together and they’ve gotten even more of a short hand together and really know how to work well together. So that’s been built out quite a lot and it’s fun. It’s cool, it’s cool. [LAUGHS]"

As a followup, yesterday we talked about Hulk fighting Tony as the Hulkbuster. Is that sort of a test to see if you guys can stop the Hulk?

"Oh, you mean like, 'Hey, hey let’s see if we can' It’s a little bit like Cool Hand Luke that way.

You think you could beat me and then I’ll beat the crap out of you” and then I beat the crap out of him [LAUGHS]. It’s kinda like that, but not totally like that.  It has a surprise, a little twist to it as well."

*Looks to unit publicist to see if that was okay to say and is told it was*

You and Joss did a really good job developing Banner for the first movie. And we haven’t really seen him much since then. Coming into this movie, do you know where you want to go with him?

"I think he’s trying to become more a part of a group. I don’t think he’s ever felt like part of a family or part of something. He’s always sort of been on the outside or on the run or trying to shun humanity. [LAUGHS]

But now I feel like he has the idea that maybe he is part of something and he’s trying to really be a part of something and feels more comfortable with the fantasy that he could actually be a part of something. But I still think it’s a struggle for him and I never think that he quite has it under control.

But I think in this version he’s sort of as close to having a normal life as he possibly could – which might include… some romance. But, you know, is that ever possible for Banner is really the question."

Cap, Thor, and Iron Man had their own movies to develop their characters. Do you have to do that in this movie? Is it harder to do that in the movie?

"Well, I think the mythology Banner is just kind of known because of the other movies. We’re sort of building off of them but it’s similar. He’s on the run. He doesn’t wanna’ turn into the Hulk. All that people want him to do is to turn into the Hulk.

[LAUGHS] And so I think that it’s not as uphill a battle as introducing a completely new character. And you know the nature of these movies; There’s 8 of us and you’re sort of – I kinda’ worked it out. It’s 10 minutes of screen time for each of us. And then if we include the bad guys… And so it’s hard [LAUGHS] to really do a lot of character development in it, but I think this movie goes even more into that than the last one for everybody. And so, you’re sort of playing catch up, but also I think you wanna’ be ambiguous enough not to cover too much ground so that you have somewhere to go if they ever do wanna’ do a standalone. Another standalone."

We heard that Andy Serkis was somehow involved in the early stages of this one which is fascinating as performance capture gets more and more advanced each year. What’s that process been like for you?  And how much more [of] you is there in the Hulk?

"We’ve done a lot more with the motion capture and because the face capture and the motion capture can now be put together. You just got a lot more latitude as a performer. So Andy’s been working on this new frontier of taking motion capture and instead of the actor just being a place holder for CGI that it becomes more of a collaboration and that the Actor really can add performance to it. The last one we were trying to do that but it was difficult.

Now the technology is taking another step forward. Andy has created a kind of space and this new attitude towards motion capture that honors the Actor a bit more than it was in the past. And not that there was dishonor, it’s just organic process of making those two things work really well together in the context of a production of another movie that has a first unit going and a lot of importance is put on the first unit, but now they’re starting to look at motion capture in [an] equal sort of way. That’s what Andy’s after. That’s what I’m after.

And so I see the motion capture as this incredible new place for us to go in performance that we never had before that’s more like kind of a puppeteering. You know you’re no longer are constricted by the attributes that you have as a person your age or weight or size. None of that matters anymore. And so there’s this whole exciting place to go that is kind of unknown."

It’s almost like going back to your theater roots.

"It’s very much like theater because it’s all imagination. You don’t have a forest in front of you in the theater.  You don’t have a castle, but you have to put that there for yourself. And so whatever theater training I had is very, very much in tune with this oddly enough.

The oldest form of acting all of a sudden meets the newest form of acting. And they’re very compatible to each other. But it’s very exciting. Andy has really done a lot to make it so the Actor’s driving it."

One of the things they we were talking about yesterday was Scarlet Witch sort of being able to call out the demons of the Avengers. And it was your character that–

"That’s a bad trip."

[LAUGHS] Is she able to just call up the Hulk and control him?

"It’s not – it’s – she – she’s able to bring out the worst in us. [LAUGHS]

And there are people in our lives who can do that. And somehow when you’re an Actor you tend to gravitate towards those people. But it’s like Sid and Nancy. She’s the Nancy.  She’s everyone’s Nancy. [LAUGHS]"

Of all these new characters that are in this movie is there someone that excites you the most that you really think is cool and that audiences will really freak out about?

"I love the new kids on the block.  I love Wanda and Pietro – Quicksilver. They’re cool. They’re really cool, the characters."

How about The Vision?

"The Vision is The Vision. He is so dope. And uh, he’s my baby. Yeah, he’s pretty incredible. And the idea of him and where he comes from and he’s very independent. He is a really great character . Yeah, people are gonna’ love the Vision. And Ultron’s amazing. He’s amazing. It’s really good."

How much [one-on-one] time did you have with James Spader?

"We had a lot of scenes together as a group. I don’t have really – I have a couple of one-on-one things with him, but I love him. He’s great. And he’s, he’s gonna’ be –  it’s like King Lear. It’s great."

Do you get as much enjoyment watching Paul Bettany being tortured as Robert [Downey Jr.] seems to?

"All I know is I’m happy that I walk in and I leave the trailer and I can go back an hour later and Paul Bettany’s still in make-up. [LAUGHS] And I’m 46 years old. That makes me feel good. [LAUGHS]

Sorry Paul. But you should see him. He’s a specimen when he walks onto that thing. And he’s like the perfect man. He’s the Vision."

I’m curious about this cool little house party that goes on in this movie. Are ever the Hulk there?

"Banner. They mostly – indoors I have to be Banner. That’s kind of the rule. It’s like “leave your shoes at the door.” It’s like leave your Hulk at the door.

Yeah they don’t like him being… Hulk still has a little bit of an ADHD kid thing going on. [LAUGHS]"

In the first movie Hulk has two amazing lines. “I’m always angry” and “Puny God.” Does he have anything like that in the sequel? Any one-liners?

"We’re sorta’ still working that out. He will. We’re just kind of trying to figure out. There’s a couple of different places to do it, but he’s not gonna’ have a soliloquy. Not yet anyway. But we’re working for that. Joss has a couple ideas where to put -"

Has he told you the lines yet?

"No. That’s the thing, but I kinda’ know where we’re headed with it, but he hasn’t given me the line yet."

Talking with Joss Whedon yesterday he told us one of the dominant themes in the film is the idea of being destroyed by power. And obviously there is a lot of power that exists in Bruce Banner. I’m curious how you see the theme kind of affecting the film overall and towards Bruce.

"The essential struggle that he’s having  - throughout his life [LAUGHS] probably – but specifically in this is that he does have that destructive side of him. That’s not gonna’ ever go away. You could live a fantasy that that might be under control but ultimately you know that might just be a fantasy for him. And so that conflict is always gonna’ be there, that there might never be a resolve to that. That’s because that power is really destructive."

Is he still constantly searching for that solution?

"Yeah, he wishes he could find it. There’s no doubt about that, but it’s like you get to be a certain age and you’re like – You have to start to practice radical acceptance or you just keep banging your head up against the same wall. And I think he’s starting to get to that place where he’s like, “Okay what do I – how do I live with this?  How do I make it work for me? How do I manage?” It’s like management. It’s like having a slipped disk."

I was curious about that. We saw a lot of labs. I’d imagine a lot of scientists there. I’d imagine the Hulk would be the number one priority. Tony wouldn’t even want to lose the Hulk. It’s kind of weird.

"No, Tony’s mantra is like, 'Embrace it, dude.'"

Because the Hulk [is] useful to the team?

"Yes, in little doses. So he’s like a nuclear bomb you know. It’s tough to get very tactical with it. I think it’s a matter of management and control really at this point rather than just like shutting him down completely.

Plus the Hulk is - the weird thing about the Banner/Hulk relationship is [LAUGHS] how the more work they do into it, the more he turns as the Hulk the more established the Hulk becomes in his identity. And so you have these two identities that really wanna’ dominate the other. And so it’s not getting easier to refer one or the other to be the dominant driver."

Can they co-exist?

"I don’t know, it’s tough. [LAUGHS]  But they’re gonna’ have to work it out ‘cause they didn’t –  you know there’s serious tension there and it’s only growing."

Six years ago I wrote an article about several movies that were said to be really cursed. It was really fascinating for me to study up on some of the crazy scary things that happened during and after the productions of certain films.

Presto.com released an infographic called Horror Movies Cursed in Real Life, and it gives us a and interesting breakdown of the films Poltergeist, The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, and more.

Think the terror stops at the cinema doors? Thing again. From horrific, unexplained deaths to murder and mayhem - prepare for the curses and the real horror behind Hollywood's famous fright flicks.

I'm already familiar with these facts, but it's definitely worth checking out of you aren't. If you want even more details, you can read my old article about all this stuff here

Chris Evans on Captain America Looking for Home in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Today is going to be a big Marvel news day so stay tuned for lots of information! BuzzFeed had the opportunity to talk to Chris Evans while he was shooting Avengers: Age of Ultron, and they walked away with some interesting information on his character Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America. One of the most intriguing parts of the discussion involves his character still trying to fit in and find a home in this world that he has been thrust into. Before we get to that, though, he talks about his fellow cast members, saying,

"We're buddies! We’ve been on a little bit of a ride doing these movies. You make really good friendships. It sounds cliché to say: ‘We all get along so well!’ We really get along phenomenally well. It’s like summer camp."

Joss Whedon then chimed in, and offered this bit of information about the cast:

"They were very trusting the first time around. But this time, [there’s an] ease and rapport, and just the fun that we have. Everybody’s got franchises and babies. Everyone’s very comfortable with themselves."

I imagine with the bond they've all formed working on these movies together it would be easy for them to jump back in and act alongside each other. Evans continues, and discusses his comfort in playing Captain America role:

"In the beginning, you’re just so grateful. You’re very timid. You’re lucky you got invited to the barbecue, [and] you just don’t want to get in the way. Now, you feel a little more at home, and it feels a little more like a collaboration that you contribute to. If anything’s changed, it’s just my feeling of ‘welcomeness.’ Is that a word, welcomeness? We’re going to make it a word, [frick] it."

The actor then gets into the details about his character and what he is going through during the events of Age of Ultron:

"He’s still looking for a home, probably a metaphorical home. He’s always felt comfortable as a soldier. And he likes structure. He works well taking orders. But when that dynamic turned on him, he’s now left to depend upon his team, the Avengers. There really is no one above them telling them what to do. They’re kind of having to operate independently. So there’s a lot of leaning on one another, but there really isn’t a kind of clear chain of command. And I think Cap looks for that. I think he’s looking to understand where he belongs, not just as a soldier, as Captain America, but as Steve Rogers, as a person."

That's definitely going to carry into Captain America 3. I don't know if Rogers is ever going to get that feeling of home in these films. He has just been placed into this insane world that doesn't seem to give him a break so that he can settle in. Poor guy. Evans says that he's looking forward to doing Captain America 3, as well as another Avengers movie, and adds:

"I mean, I’m going to miss these when they’re done. I really will. This has been a lot of fun, and they’re only getting more fun. Especially because there’s a trust in Marvel that you’re going to make something good. It would really be lousy to be stuck in a contract knowing that you’re making shit. And I just don’t feel that way. It’s really a blessing that this kind of fell in my lap. Sometimes you don’t really feel deserving of it. But I’ll take it."

Captain America has always been a favorite character of mine, and I couldn't be happier with how Evans has brought him to life on the big screen. I'm excited to see where these films take him, and I really hope it doesn't lead to the character dying. Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1st, 2015 and Captain America 3 is being released the following year on May 6th, 2016.

A new test photo may have leaked out from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. If it's real, it features a sinister looking Sith villain from the story. The photo comes from the ImageShack account of Darth Simi (via: Star Wars Underworld), and it looks like that account has since been deleted. That could validate what we are seeing here. If you don't want to look at the image, then please don't scroll down. Possible SPOILERS below:

We don't know if this is a main villain or not, but the one thing that kind of throws me off is the lightsaber that the character is holding. It looks like it has two smaller blades near the base of the saber giving it the appearance of a sword. Of course that's not the only strange sounding lightsaber design that we've heard about. There were some previously released details about a wampa claw lightsaber as well that you can read about here. So I guess it could be possible to have a sword-type hilt on a lightsaber as well.

Honest Trailer for SAW

James Wan's Saw turns 10 years old this year, and to celebrate, Screen Junkies has released an Honest Trailer for the sadistically great movie. The first Saw movie was awesome, it was unlike anything I had seen before. It was a hard movie to watch because of the the crazy situations the characters were put in, but I liked that about it. I'm not really into torture films, but this one was an original concept that was done well with the low budget that it had. Unfortunately, it was followed by a ridiculous amount of needless sequels that sucked. Watch Screen Junkies hilariously make fun of Saw below with all of it's reminiscing, playing catch, and dramatic reaching.

New Trailer and Featurette for PADDINGTON the Bear Movie

A charming new UK trailer and featurette have been released for the big screen adaptation of the 1958 british children's book series, Paddington, which was created by Michael Bond. The story follows the crazy slapstick comedy antics of a bear, who is trying to live in modern society. Paddington the bear was originally supposed to be voiced by Colin Firth, but he dropped out and was replaced by Ben Whishaw, who is the voice that you will hear in the trailer.

The movie comes from Harry Potter producer David Heyman, and director Paul King. Here's the synopsis:

Paddington tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says 'Please look after this bear. Thank you,' and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

This looks like an entertaining movie, and the first trailer had my kids busting up in laughter. It also stars Hugh Bonneville, Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Michael Gambon, and Imelda Staunton. The Weinstein Company will release the film in the U.S. on January 16th, 2015.
