Sony Pictures has released another really cool featurette for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and it's sprinkled with more footage from the movie. This latest featurette focuses on the mind set of Spider-Man and the villains he will be facing. There is also a little soundbite of the Green Goblin cackle, which I don't recall hearing before in anything else.

Here's a fantastic sci-fi themed illustration called "help" that features an alien helping a wounded astronaut. It was created by Deviant Art user Svjeeta, and I love the tone. I want to know what the story is behind it. I've also included a render of a different scene from the same artist below.

First Look at a Badass Scarlett Johansson in LUCY

Here's our first look at Scarlett Johansson in director Luc Besson's upcoming action thriller Lucy. In the film she plays "a young woman who turns the tables on those exploiting her when experimental drugs give her hyperpowered ass-kicking abilities." Sounds like fun to me!

Besson, who directed films such as The Professional and La Femme Nikita, had this to say in an interview with EW:

“I love to see a woman as a very strong character. It’s like cooking: sugar with a bit of salt, and Lucy definitely can get salty.”

The first trailer is set to be released on April 2nd, so stay tuned for that! All I can say is that Johansson can kick my ass anytime.

Mel Gibson to Star in Action Thriller BLOOD FATHER

Mel Gibson is in talks to join an upcoming Taken style action thriller called Blood Father. The story follows an ex-con who "reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her."

It's not hard to imagine Gibson in a role like this, and I'm sure he'll be fine in it. Gibson has always been a really talented guy regardless of his craziness, so it's good to see that he's still getting work. But, I still want to see that Viking movie he was planning years ago, back before his career took a nose dive into the pavement.

The movie will be directed by Jean-Francois Richet, best known for making a film called Mesrine. The script comes from Peter Craig who wrote The Town, and production is set to start this May.

I've got an incredibly entertaining video that features an ensemble orchestra playing through 43 cartoon theme songs. Little bits of the songs are all mashed together in a steam of musical awesomeness, and it's all done in under five minutes. They throw in a few animated hints to let you know what cartoon theme they are playing.

First Look at Captain America's Costume in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Another set video from the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron has hit the internet today, and this time it gives us our first look at the new costume for Captain America. That's not Chris Evans in the costume. It's his stunt double, and they were shooting some stunts on the Mapo Bridge in South Korea recently.

From what I see here, I really like the new costume design, I think it a lot cooler than the one he had in the first Avengers film. I can't wait to see a more close up detailed look at it. I also think the little logo on his shoulders is an Avengers one.

Thanks to Youtuber DiamondHeadSquirtz for the video!

Review for Arnold Schwarzenegger's SABOTAGE

review-for-arnold-schwarzeneggers-sabotage

In my opinion director David Ayer's Sabotage is the first true Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that the actor has made since he started acting again. It was a hardcore, gritty and badass action film that was fun to watch. I'm not saying it's the greatest Schwarzenegger movie that has been made because it definitely has its problems. I'm just saying it was great watching the legendary actor kick some ass, kill some bad guys, and deliver some amazing one-liners. After all, it wouldn't be a real Schwarzenegger movie without out a bunch of good one-liners. I will say that this one contains a quote that will probably go down as a classic. I won't ruin it for you, but if you watch the movie, you'll know it when you hear it.

As much as I enjoyed the film, I was expecting more from Ayer. I've enjoyed most of the films that the director has worked on over the years such as Training Day and End of Watch. Both of which were solid, and had really incredible thought out scripts and tight stories. The story and script for Sabotage was a disappointment. It was kind of all over the place, and the transitions from one plot point to another just didn't seem to flow well at all. I guess you could say the pacing was completely off. There were also a few twists, turns and surprises in the story, unfortunately those were sloppy. I understand what they were trying to do with the story, I just think they could have pulled it off better and smoothed it out with a few script changes and some smart editing. All that stuff was fixable, I'm not sure why they didn't tighten it all up before they released the film.

As far as the acting goes everyone was over the top. I can't see anyone really acting the way they did in the movie in a real situation. At the same time watching the overacting kind of made the film a little more entertaining. When it comes to Schwarznegger, he basically played the same guy he always plays, and it was great! I loved the looks that he gives during the course of the movie, and I couldn't help but smile everytime he gave a little smirk smirk of his mouth and squint of his eyes… the guys still got it. As for the rest of the cast, which includes Sam Worthington, Olivia Williams, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, Harold Perrineau, Joe Manganiello, Josh Holloway, and Mireille Enos… I guess they just tried to keep upping each other in portraying crazy law enforcement agents under stress.

The movie wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it was still entertainingly brutal enough for me to enjoy. If you're a big fan of Schwarznegger and you've enjoyed his films over the years, then there's a good chance you'll like what this movie has to offer.

I don't know if you've seen Darren Aronofsky's Noah or not, but that movie was freakin' amazing! I thought the movie was going to be good, but I didn't think it would be that good. I was was blown away by what Aronofsky did with this epic biblical story and I suggest you watch it if you haven't already.

Thanks to Variety we have Aronofsky's 1982 poem about Noah that inspired the film. The poem was about the end of the world as seen through Noah’s eyes. The director got the idea to adapt the story into a movie after visiting a museum exhibit while he was working on his first feature film Pi. It was around the time of The Fountain where is started developing the screenplay.

Darren Aronofsky’s Noah poem titled “The Dove”

The Dove
A Poem by Darren Aronofsky
January 13, 1982

Evil was in the world
The laughing crowd
Left the foolish man at his ark
Filled with animals
When the rain began to fall
It was hopeless
The man could not take the evil crowd with him
But he was allowed to bring his good family.

The rain continued through the night
And the cries of screaming men filled the air
The ark was afloat
Until the dove returned with the leaf
Evil still existed.

When the rainbows reached throughout the sky
The humble man and his family knew what it meant
The animals ran and flew freely with their newborn
The fog rose and the sun shone
Peace was in the air
And it soon appeared in all of man’s heart.

He knew evil would not be kept away
For evil and war could not be destroyed
But neither was it possible to destroy peace
Evil is hard to end and peace is hard to begin
But the rainbow and the dove will always live
Within every man’s heart.

Last week the first trailer was released for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and there were a lot of mixed reactions from fans. I kind of liked what I saw, but I still need to see more. I really want to see a fight sequence looks like with all of the turtles.

Above you'll find a promo banner for the film featuring all of the turtles ready to kick some ass. The Michael Bay produced film was directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and I think it that it's going to be a fun action movie. It's set to be released on August 8th. HARRY POTTER Spinoff Book Will Be a Film Trilogy

Back in 2001, J.K. Rowling wrote a Harry Potter spinoff book called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It was published between the fourth and fifth book in the Potter series.

It's been revealed that the book will be adapted into a film trilogy. The news came from the New York Times in a profile piece on Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara

The book is a reproduction of a textbook owned by Harry Potter and was mentioned in the first Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The textbook was written by magizoologist Newt Scamander, a fictional character in the Potter series. For those of you who don't know, Magizoology is the study of magical creatures. According to the article, "three megamovies" are being planned, and the main character will be Scamander. Rowling had this to say about the project coming together.

“When I say he made Fantastic Beasts happen, it isn’t P.R.-speak but the literal truth. We had one dinner, a follow-up telephone call, and then I got out the rough draft that I’d thought was going to be an interesting bit of memorabilia for my kids and started rewriting!”

The author discussed the story and how it fits in with the Potter universe saying,

"Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry’s gets underway."

I'm sure potter fans are going to love this. It's going to be really fun to watch these films all come together. Here's some more detailed information on the book for those of you not familiar with it:

Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts, provides the Foreword and explains the purpose of the special edition of this book (the Comic Relief charity). At the end, he tells the reader, "...The amusing creatures described hereafter are fictional and cannot hurt you." He repeats the Hogwarts motto: "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus",Latin for "Never tickle a sleeping dragon".

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them contains the history of Magizoology and describes 75 magical species found around the world. Scamander says that he collected most of the information found in the book through observations made over years of travel and across five continents. He notes that the first edition was commissioned in 1918 by Mr Augustus Worme of Obscurus Books. However, it was not published until 1927. It is now in its 52nd edition.

In the Harry Potter universe, the book is a required textbook for first-year Hogwarts students, having been an approved textbook since its first publication. It is not clear why students need it in their first year, as students do not take Care of Magical Creatures until their third year. However, it may be used as an encyclopaedia of Dark creatures studied in Defence Against the Dark Arts classes. In his foreword to the book, Albus Dumbledore notes that it serves as an excellent reference for Wizarding households in addition to its use at Hogwarts.

The book features doodles and comments supposedly added by Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The comments would appear to have been written around the time of the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. These doodles add some extra information for fans of the series; for example the "Acromantula" entry has a comment confirming that Hogwarts is located in Scotland.

Integrated in the design, the cover of the book appears to have been clawed by some sort of animal.

I've been waiting to see more footage from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and I got it last night when I was watching the season finale of The Walking Dead. The TV Spot is now online for you to watch if you haven't had a chance to see it already. The spot gives us our first real look at the sequel and the ape characters in the film. It looks like it's going to be great!

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

The movie is set to be released on May 23rd.

I don't know if you've seen this already or not as it's been online for awhile. Either way, it's still really cool. This is a cyberpunk samurai anime commercial for Murphy's Irish Stout. It was created around 1998 by Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood: The Last Vampire), Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell), and Hiromasa Ogura (Ghost in the Shell). It only aired in the UK in the 90s, so chances are many of you haven't seen it yet. I think you'll really like this. Thanks to io9 for the heads up on this awesomeness.

Check out this extremely cool, full size Iron Man suit made out of cardboard. The best part is, it's actually wearable!  It was created by 20-year-old "Cardboard Artist" Kai-Xiang Xhong from Taiwan. When talking about the suit he said,

"I used pepakura technique. But I did not add any special color on the surface. Keeping the cardboard color and texture was deliberate. That’s my style."

This kid has an incredible talent with transforming cardboard into awesomeness. He's made a ton of other great stuff that you can see in the video I've included below.
