WOLVERINE Sequel Won't Shoot Until After X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

In case you were wondering when you were going to see that new Wolverine sequel happen, the director of The Wolverine, James Mangold, revealed on Twitter that they are figuring it out, and that the pan is to start shooting after X-Men: Apocalypse:

@R__E__D_R__U__M @20centuryfox @ShuDonner We are figuring it all out. At the moment, I'm shooting The next #Wolverine after #XmenApocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released in May 2016, so the soonest we will see another Wolverine movie will be in 2017 or 2018. It doesn't sound like Wolverine will have a place in the story for Apocalypse, but we don't know that for sure yet. There's also no guarantee at this point if Hugh Jackman will even return to reprise his role. Jackman is getting older, and he can't play this character forever. It's inevitable that one day he'll have to be replaced.

I'll be very surprised if Jackman decides to do another Wolverine movie, because it's been sounding like he's ready to move on, but we'll see. When it is time for Jackman to be replaced, it will be interesting to see who they cast. For more information on X-Men: Apocalypse, click here

What Wolverine storyline would you like to see in the next movie?

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 - 11 New Images

How to Train Your Dragon is one of only a few DreamWorks films that I really love. The sequel takes place 5 years after the first and continues the story of Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) and the dragon Toothless. These new images via Collider show the slightly more grown up characters returning for the sequel. The first film had amazing flying sequences that are a must watch in 3D. How to Train Your Dragon 2 lands in theaters June 13th (USA).

3-Foot Long GODZILLA Action Figure

In anticipation of the release of Gareth EdwardsGodzilla, JAKKS Pacific has revealed their 3-foot long Godzilla monster action figure. I wish I would have been able to play with a Godzilla toy like this when I was a kid! This thing is big and awesome.

The enormous, articulated figure (12 points total) stands 24" high (measured diagonally), and is 43" long. In addition, his tail swings back and forth, his mouth opens and closes and he comes packaged with the ability to drive Bryan Cranston totally crazy.

Dominic Laurienzo, Senior Vice President of Design, had this to say about it:

"Our massive Godzilla figure is unlike any on the market today. At over three and a half feet in length, we've captured every inch of 'Awesome-ness' from head to tail! From the moment we saw the storyboards, we knew this would be the ultimate addition to the Large Scale Figure world.

The team worked very closely with Warner Brothers and some of the best sculptors to bring to life the magnitude of this character. Whether kid or collector, we are very excited to bring our Godzilla figure to fans of all ages."

The figure is definitely cool. The movie is set to be released on May 16th!

FOX has released another Instagram trailer teaser for X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's here to promote the new trailer for the movie that is supposed to come out next week. Each little character square includes a bit of cool footage from the movie. I can't wait to see what has been included in the upcoming trailer. I'm really hoping we get to see some Sentinels in action!

Here's another fantastic teaser trailer and banner for Disney's Maleficent, and the title character shows off her wings in each. It gives viewers a little more background on the character and how she used to have wings that were stollen from her. This is in preparation for a full trailer that will be released tomorrow, so stay tuned for that! I absolutely love the visual style of this movie.

Amazing NINJA TURTLES Fan Art of SLASH

Amazing NINJA TURTLES Fan Art of SLASH

Remember the character Slash from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!? It's been a long time since I've heard anyone talk about him, and I completely forgot he was even a character until I was reminded by this piece of awesome fan art created by CGHUB artist SvenJuhlin. This is what he had to say about his creation:

When I first heard that a remake of the TMNT movie was in production, I was eager to do my own version of one of the turtles. As a kid I watched a lot of TMNT on the "cartoon network" and I'm really looking forward to the remake of it, even though the thought of it all scares me a bit. I decided to do one of the characters who have not been given that much attention in the series yet, and that is Slash. I have added some elements and removed some and made t to something that I can call my own version of him. Hope you enjoy it, I had a lot of fun making him.

Pixar to Re-release RATATOUILLE and THE INCREDIBLES in 3D

It was only a matter of time before we started seeing older Pixar films re-released in 3D. Thanks to Screen Daily we've learned that Ratatouille and The Incredibles are currently being prepped for a 3D release. These are my two favorite Pixar films, but I still don't think I am going to pay the money to see them in 3D. Pixar’s director of 3D production Josh Hollander had this to say in a statement about The Incredibles:

“Right now we’re working on The Incredibles, which is a lot of fun in 3D. I’m not sure what the release strategy for it will be. It’s been an interesting challenge to work on technology because - while the film was released 10 years ago - the technology is even older as it took four years to make.”

He then goes on to talk about Ratatouille, saying,

“We have a version of Ratatouille, which works really well in 3D and we’re trying to figure out exactly what the release strategy for that will be."

These films will be released after the 3D reissues of Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc. Hollander then shares his general thoughts on 3D and the audience's attitude on it, saying,

“I think that we as an industry may have lost some of our audience for 3D with releases that didn’t beg for the medium or didn’t warrant the medium or didn’t use the median in a nuanced and sophisticated and comfortable way. I think it’s possible that we drove some folks away from 3D with the higher ticket price or whatever else. But I also think that as the industry settles on a more nuanced approach, I really hope and believe that the audiences will return.”

I'm still not big on watching movies in 3D. It doesn't really add to the experience for me on most films. If 3D movies just went away I wouldn't miss them.

GOTHAM Set Photos with Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon

A series of photos have hit the internet featuring our first look at the set of Gotham. In them we see Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon chasing down a criminal. McKenzie has sure come a long way from The O.C. and this has got to be a hell of cool role for him to play. I can't wait to see more from this series!

I'm ridiculously excited for this Batman inspired series, and in case you missed it, here's a detailed synopsis of it:

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world's greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon's story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

"Gotham" is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), "Gotham" follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

Growing up in Gotham City's surrounding suburbs, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards, Open Grave, “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.

Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city's highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes' hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, Bruce (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy's profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer.

As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham's criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith, The Matrix films, “HawthoRNe,” Collateral), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction's most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (acting newcomer Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor, “The Walking Dead,” Another Earth).

Although the crime drama will follow Gordon's turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, led by Police Captain Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara, “Burn Notice”), it also will focus on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, Alfred (Sean Pertwee, "Camelot," “Elementary”). It is a friendship that will last them all of their lives, playing a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he's destined to be.

Fantastically Scary Horror Short - LIGHTS OUT

fantastically-scary-horror-short-lights-out

We've got a great, scary, horror movie short that definitely has the ability to freak you the hell out! I do have to say it's best watched in the dark with the volume turned up. It's a simple concept, but it was executed so freakin' well! The movie is called "Lights Out," and it was directed by David F. Sandberg. You know that I'm a huge fan of horror movies, and I absolutely loved this! It's an effective horror film that does its job, and it wowed me!

Teaser Poster for the Sci-Fi Action Film THE MAZE RUNNER

Digital Spy

Digital Spy

The Maze Runner is one young adult book series that I'm actually looking forward to seeing adapted for the big screen. This has the potential to be an awesomely fun movie. The book was written by James Dashner, and the story centers on a group of teens who find themselves dropped into an epic maze as part of a mysterious test. This is the first teaser poster for the movie, and the first trailer should be coming tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.

The movie stars Teen Wolf actor Dylan O'Brien, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. It's being directed by first-time feature film director Wes Ball. I love what I've heard of the story and seen from the concept art, and I can't wait to see the trailer.

The studio is already in the process of developing the sequel. I'm hoping that this movie turns out to be great!

Here's a more detailed description of the story:

The story begins with the lead character, Thomas (played by Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien), awakening inside a rusting, rumbling industrial elevator, which ascends from some unfathomable depth — into a peaceful meadow. He has no idea who he is or where he comes from. “The doors open and deposit him in this rustic, idyllic place surrounded by walls on all sides,” says Ball.

Thomas also finds himself surrounded by a ragtag group of other boys his age. “He is just one of many boys who have come up once a month in the last three years,” Ball says. They also have no idea who they are or how they got there, but they’ve pieced together a few things about the creepy walls that surround them.

Each morning, the barriers slide open. There is no other way out of the glade. “They have been trying to figure out how the hell to get out of this place and deal with the maze beyond the walls,” Ball says. “The doors open in the morning and the boys have to get back before they close because nobody survives a night in the maze.”

There’s something out there that preys on the ones who stay out too long. The kids call the creatures Grievers, though none has ever actually seen one (and lived.)

Most of the kids are content to stay within the confines — and relative safety — of the glade, even if it means never knowing why they’re there, or if anything lies beyond. Something must be, right? Something built all this and put them there. Only the bravest of the boys are willing to venture out to look for escape.

A moment like that is what Ball hints at amid the tiny figures in this concept drawing. ”Thomas is the boy who takes that step forward when everybody else takes a step back,” he says.

Another challenge: the maze changes every day. Despite its imposing size, the walls somehow shift in the night, and so those who run out to map it tend to find their efforts useless the next day.

Batman Gets a TRUE DETECTIVE Intro!

Here's a video I've been watching on repeat all day thanks to creator Josh Newman! While the music doesn't really suit the world of Gotham, it doesn't really matter because Batman set to the intro of True Detective is contemporary and badass! It does make me a little sad that I will have to wait awhile before I can see either of these shows.

Here's a behind the scenes video for Disney's upcoming fairy adventure, The Pirate Fairy, and it features footage of Tom Hiddleston gleefully singing as a young Captain Hook. With Christina Hendricks also on board playing a hardcore fairy named Zarina, this straight-to-DVD Disney animated fairy movie has an impressive cast that the kids and Disney fans are sure to enjoy. I'm sure this won't be the last time we see Hiddleston voice an animated character.

When a misunderstood dust-keeper fairy named Zarina steals Pixie Hollow’s all-important Blue Pixie Dust, and flies away to join forces with the pirates of Skull Rock, Tinker Bell and her fairy friends must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to return it to its rightful place. However, in the midst of their pursuit of Zarina, Tink’s world is turned upside down. She and her friends find that their respective talents have been switched and they have to race against time to retrieve the Blue Pixie Dust and return home to save Pixie Hollow. With comedy, heart and epic thrills for the whole family,

The Pirate Fairy will be released in Spring of 2014.

Great Trailer for THE MAZE RUNNER

great-trailer-for-the-maze-runner

The Maze Runner sure looks like it's going to be a damn good film! The first trailer for it has been released, and I'm sold. It may not have a well-known cast, and it may come from a first time feature film director, but this movie looks awesome. As far as young adult novel movie adaptations go, this one is actually more appealing to me than The Hunger Games

When Thomas ( Dylan O'Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape. Based on the best-selling novel by James Dashner.

The movie was developed by commercial director Wes Ball, and it opens up in theaters on September 19th.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY Season 4 Set in a Carnival

Thanks to the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast we have learned a little more information on the fourth season of American Horror Story. Series writer Douglas Petrie has confirmed that the next season will be set in a carnival. It's the perfect new setting for this series! Carnivals are freakin' terrifying!

When asked if the Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk-produced drama would focus on the carnival theme, Petrie confirmed saying, "Very roughly, that's the idea." It was previously announced that it will also take place in the 1950s, and that it could very well be the last season we see Jessica Lange in.

I love this show, and I couldn't be happier to hear that we are going to see some kind of crazy new storyline play out at a creepy-ass carnival.

Happy Teaser Trailer for PEANUTS

happy-teaser-trailer-for-peanuts

I love Charlie Brown and Snoopy, and today we have the first teaser trailer for the feature film adaptation of Peanuts! Having grown up with these characters, this trailer just made me happy. The movie was directed by Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift), who tells USA Today,

"We're going to fly with Snoopy in his fantasy world. We have a bigger canvas. Bill Melendez got Snoopy off the ground in the TV specials. We're going to take it a step further."

The movie was done in CG animation, but I love that it still has that classic comic style and feel of the characters that fans love.

For the first time ever, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang we know and love from Charles Schulz's timeless "Peanuts" comic strip will be making their big-screen debut; like they've never been seen before in a CG-Animated Feature film in 3D.

The movie will be released on November 6th.

Impressively Cool Batman Comic Tattoo Sleeve

This is possibly the coolest comic book superhero tattoo that I've seen. I'm not really impressed with a lot of superhero or comic book tattoos, but I am really in love with this one. The colors are so vibrant, and the art is really good. The tattoo was done by Ian Hopkins of Ian Ink Tattoo in Southampton, England. It took him forty hours to complete. I'd sport a tattoo like this.

Kevin Feige Talks Villain in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

kevin-feige-talks-villain-in-avengers-age-of-ultron

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has offered up another update on Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. During an interview with Movies.com, Feige talked about the upcoming Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe documentary special, saying,

“They're advertising it as a first look, and that is an honest statement. We don't start filming for another week and a half, so you're not going to have a lot of first-unit footage because it doesn't exist yet. But you certainly get more than just a peek at some of the new fun things we have in store. Introducing the new characters is going to be a lot of fun for the movie. That ever-changing roster is very important in the Avengers comics, and so how do we start to play with that [on the screen]?”

He then went on to enthusiastically talk about the film's main villain, Ultron, who is being played by James Spader,

“Our bad guy is great. I think people are going to very, very excited to see what we're doing with the voice that Joss [Whedon] is bringing to life with James Spader for Ultron. We love Ultron from the comics, and have always loved Ultron, and at no point do we want him to just be a robot. We want him to have an extreme personality and attitude, and James Spader is doing an unbelievable job. Again, for us it's always about subverting expectations. Whenever you think you know what's coming next, we surprise people or deliver it in a slightly unexpected way. And Spader is doing that with Mr. Ultron.”

There's no doubt that Spader is going to be amazing. Tomorrow we'll learn a little bit more about the movie in the Marvel documentary that is set to air on ABC at 8pm. I imagine Marvel fans aren't going to want to miss it. Age of Ultron is set to be released on May 1st, 2015!
