Tye Sheridan has been cast in the lead role in Paramount Pictures upcoming zombie film Scouts Vs. Zombies. He co-starred alongside Matthew McConaughey in the indie drama Mud. The kid is an amazing young actor, who is sure to be an amazing performance.

The movie is a horror comedy that is horror comedy set to be directed by Christopher Landon. The story centers on three high school Boy Scouts who must use their skills to battle vicious zombies after their small town faces a zombie outbreak. According to THR Sheridan "will play the budding honors student who is handsome and athletic but doesn't know it yet, still lacking the confidence needed to talk to girls he likes."

We've been hearing about this project over the last year, and it's nice to see that the project is making progress. I love this concept and I think it will make for a really fun movie.

These photos give us a much clearer look at the Ninja Turtle designs that we'll see in Michael Bay's upcoming movie. I actually like the designs that I've seen from the movie, and it will be really interesting to see them brought to life, and kicking ass! 

The Jonathan Liebesman-directed film is based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. It stars Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fichtner as the villain Shredder.

Here's an awesome little easter egg pointed out by Reddit user NoMoreHodoring. He discovered Gandalf's sword Glamdring as one of the many swords forged together to make the Iron Throne of the seven kingdoms in HBO's Game of Thrones. 

It doesn't matter if it was purposely put there or not. I think it's just really cool that it found it's way into the throne! I found this over on io9, who offered up some fun fan story saying, "Did Aegon Targaryen, first of his name, conquer Middle-Earth on his way to battle the Andals of Westeros, and handed Gandalf his grey Istari ass? No man can say."

The thought of this makes me happy.

It must be so hard for cast and crew member not to start bust up laughing during the production of a comedy like Anchorman 2. The whole goal is to make audience members laugh, so of course the cast and crew are going to laugh too! 

A gag reel for the movie has hit the internet and features lots of funny blooper of cast member screwing up and making each other crack up on the set. This blooper reel is only 7-minutes long but you might just laugh more than you laughed watching the actual movie. 

Batman: Arkham Knight sure looks like it's going to be one hell of an epic video game. Supposedly it's the final game in the Batman series. But, I can't help but thing that they will make another one if this one does so well. Today we've got eight new screenshots from the game to share with you featuring Batman and several other characters.

Artist Krista Brennan has created a series of wonderful steampunk style art inspired by Kenneth Grahame's classic novel The Wind in the Willows. She calls the art project Steam in the Willows, and her interpretation of the world this story is set in is fantastic! I love what she's done with it. 

The artist is planning to release a new edition of The Wind in the Willows novel featuring her Steampunk style illustrations. This was all thanks to a successful kickstarter campaign that she launched. For more information on the project and how you can purchase the book click here. 

Artist Mingjue Helen Chen has awesomely redesigned several popular super heroins wearing streetwear style fashion versions of their classic costumes. I would love to see some cosplayers bring these costume designs to life.

These are all screenshots from the upcoming Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe documentary set to air on ABC on Tuesday, March 18th. Guardians of the Galaxy comes out on August 1st, and Marvel fans are going to love what's coming. I've also included a new promo spot for the Marvel documentary.

We have another trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 coming in a couple days, and a few more promo photos popped up online over the weekend. One of them features a cool image of Spidey pursuing the Green Goblin. The movie is set to be released on May 2nd. Stay tuned for the new trailer! 

I've got an awesome sci-fi short film called "Malaise" for you to check out today. It was directed by Daniel Beaulieu for his final project at Vancouver Film School's 3D animation program. It has a very cool retro vibe and follows an astronaut who is trying to survive a brutal alien attack in her ship. It's actually an intense short, and I think you'll all really like it. This is what the creator had to say:

"With Malaise I wanted to do a project that was both visually exciting and a demonstration of my abilities as an animator. The look of the piece was influenced by an array of old sci-fi classics ranging from Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris to Jean-Claude Forest's Barbarella. For the feel and tone of the film it was to Ridley Scott's Alien franchise that I drew inspiration from. I wanted to pursue a slightly more realistic route for the animation so I researched live action movie footage, live reference as well as more recent CG efforts from America and Japan to help achieve to type of movement I desired. This project was a labor of love and I thank everyone who helped bring it to the screen. Enjoy the show!"

Disney has released another full trailer for Angelina Jolie's Maleficient. It's called "Legacy," and it includes some fun new footage. The movie was directed by Robert Stromberg, and it looks beautifully dark. I don't know if you remember, but the original animated film was actually nightmarish. Most of the old Disney films were! They don't make them like that anymore. 

From Disney comes "Maleficent"—the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty." A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well.

The film also stars Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson, and Imelda Staunton. It will be released in theaters on May 30th.

I know Titanfall has been out for awhile, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on it having just played it through for the first time. Titanfall is seriously the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long time! It's been awhile since I've been so invigorated by a video game. It actually got to a point where I stopped playing games for awhile, but Titanfall reawakened that video game beast in me. I'm excited about it, and I can't stop playing!

There was a ton of hype for this game, and it won a ton of awards, but I wasn't sure if it would actually live up to it. This is the first game that I've played since I started my video game hiatus, so it was either going to waste my time or blow me away. When I picked up the controller to start playing it, I was cautious and kept my expectations in check. Then once I started playing I couldn't stop! I played all through the weekend, skipped out on going to the movies, which I never do, and played it with my brother until we got through it. It's really rare that there is a video game that will keep me from going to the movies. This game gave me such an awesome adrenalin rush, though, and I just had to play it as much as I could.

My favorite aspect of it is the gameplay and how freakin' fast-paced it is! The advanced combat techniques and the freedom you have to use them is so damn cool. You can't go wrong running around blowing shit up, and then there's that giant ass Titan you get to pilot! It's the thing dreams are made of for a guy like me! I also really loved how you play through the campaign with online multiplayer. It takes the gameplay to a whole new level of intensity. I've always liked playing against other player anyway, as it's more challenging. 

Titanfall is the future of gaming. It's the first of what may actually become the standard in gaming, and I hope it is, because it's so much freakin' fun! If you haven't picked up Titanfall or played it yet, make sure you put it on your list of your things to do because I promise that you won't be sorry! 

The games was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts as an exclusive for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. I played it on Xbox One, and it will be released on Xbox 360 on March 25th. 

Here are some details about the game, and I've also included a trailer.

Players fight either on foot as free-running "pilots" or inside agile mech-style walkers called "Titans" to complete team-based objectives on a derelict and war-torn planet as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia. The game is online multiplayer-only, but injects single-player elements such as plot, character chatter, and non-player characters into its matches. Bit-tech reported the game to have 15 maps, 33 weapons, and splitscreen support for the online multiplayer, though the developer had previously denied the latter. Respawn founder Vince Zampella described the game as bringing "scale, verticality, and story" to first-person shooter multiplayer gaming.

Up to twelve human players choose their pilot types and are dropped on the map, beginning the game. A timer displays the time until a Titan can be deployed, which is reduced by killing other players. Once deployed, Titans are protected by a forcefield for about 30 seconds, which protects the player-pilot as well. Pilots are agile and accumulate momentum while running (similar to Tribes), which lets players run on walls and chain together double jumps. There are multiple types of Titans, each with unique abilities and animations. Pilot and Titan controls are identical except where the pilot's jump becomes the Titan's dash, as Titans cannot jump, crouch, or cover. The mechs are not slow, but their movement is slower than the nimble pilots. Titan game-balancing abilities include the vortex blocker, which stops and returns enemy ammunition in midair, and electrified smoke, which hurts and repels pilots climbing the Titan's back, as well as a deployable wall that blocks ballistic and projectile weapons. Other gameplay elements are intended to make the game more approachable to less experienced shooter players, such as the supplementing of each team with weak AI bots for easier kills, and temporary power-ups called Burn Cards. Player-pilots can eject from Titans that take too much damage, and the Titan replacement timer is reset upon the Titan's death. Titans can also act autonomously when put in guard and follow modes, which directs the Titan either to protect their vicinity or to tail their pilot, respectively. Games end with an epilogue in which the losing team attempts to evacuate via dropship to earn experience points.

Here's a funny episode of the web-series Wonders of the World Wide Web, and it shows us what Instagram and Google would have been like if they were invented in the 1980s. I also include a video that shows us what Facebook would have been like if it were invented in the 1990s. 

Doctor Who's Karen Gillan stars in a upcoming horror thriller called Oculus, and it looks really good. Of course, that's coming from a guy who loves horror movies and has a crush on Gillan. The trailer for the movie was released earlier in the month, and for some reason I missed it, so it's not getting posted until now, but better late than never. I also posted a TV spot for the movie that aired during last night's episode of The Walking Dead. And in case Gillan starring in the film isn't enough, it co-stars Katee Sackhoff.

Ten years ago, tragedy struck the Russell family, leaving the lives of teenage siblings Tim and Kaylie forever changed when Tim was convicted of the brutal murder of their parents. Now in his 20s, Tim is newly released from protective custody and only wants to move on with his life; but Kaylie, still haunted by that fateful night, is convinced her parents’ deaths were caused by something else altogether: a malevolent supernatural force¬¬ unleashed through the Lasser Glass, an antique mirror in their childhood home. Determined to prove Tim’s innocence, Kaylie tracks down the mirror, only to learn similar deaths have befallen previous owners over the past century. With the mysterious entity now back in their hands, Tim and Kaylie soon find their hold on reality shattered by terrifying hallucinations, and realize, too late, that their childhood nightmare is beginning again...

The movie is set to be released on April 11th, and I'm excited to see it! 

I came across this series of fan made condom superhero packaging created graphic designer Kode Logic. The series is called Safety First, and what I love most about these are the little taglines for each one and the fine print that says, 

"Saying the the use of condoms is 'safe sex' is in fact playing Russian roulette. A lot of people will die in this dangerous game."

Three new photos have been released for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The feature Jessica Alba, Eva Green and the guy in the bandages is Josh Brolin. Earlier this month the first trailer was released, and it looks like it's going to be a great flick. Probably just an entertaining as the first one. 

The movie combines two of Miller's classic stories with new tales "in which the town's most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants." The story follows Dwight as he is "hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (featured in the film Frank Miller's Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face."

The movie hits theaters August 22nd, 2014.

I have mixed feelings about last night's episode of The Walking Dead as it literally made me sick to my stomach. That was seriously a hard episode to watch, and it made me really sad. This has definitely been a very dark season, and it looks like the darkness will continue with episode 15, which is called "Us." We have a promo and sneak peek for the next episode, and I've also included a behind the scenes inside look at the last episode, "The Grove."

Ever since his critically acclaimed feature debut, 500 Days of Summer, director Marc Webb has been tangled up in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Other than directing the occasional music video, Webb hasn’t had much time for anything else. The director had to step away from other projects to helm the soon to be released sequel to his 2012 Spidey reboot and is already attached to direct the third installment. 

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Webb said that after he’s finished directing The Amazing Spider-Man 3, he plans to move on to other projects. 

“I’d like to be involved as a consultant, and I’ve already talked to these guys about it, but in terms of directing it, that will close out my tenure. I’ve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, it’ll be the time to find something else.”

Webb also commented on the expanding Spider-Man universe and possible crossovers with other studios, saying:

"We’re building out a more complicated Spider-Man universe with characters that people haven’t seen in other Spider-Man movies—The Sinister Six, Venom, and more. We’d all love to overlap with other studios, but it’s beyond my pay grade."

I doubt we’ll see Peter Parker suit up with The Avengers on the big-screen anytime soon, but I’m excited to see that there is definite movement on those Spidey spin-offs.

Who would you like to see direct The Amazing Spider-Man 4?
