Check out this beautiful series of art that sets Game of Thrones in Feudal Japan. The illustrations were created by Sei-G, and they really take the world of Westeros and turn it into an even more beautiful and magical place. The Feudal Japan setting and woodblock prints are just incredibly cool! Here's a description of the piece above,

Robert Baratheon and Rhaegar Targaryen that preceded the series by seventeen years. Instead of a war hammer, Robert wields a Kanabō, a club-like samurai bludgeoning weapon. His antlered helmet is inspired by the famous helmet of the warlord Honda Tadakatsu.

Vin Diesel and Universal Ready to Make Another RIDDICK Sequel

Vin Diesel recently released a video of himself singing and dancing along to Beyonce's "Drunk In Love" and Katy Perry's "Dark Horse." He's obviously very happy about something, and at the 3:12 mark in the video he tells us why. He reveals that Universal Pictures wants to develop another sequel to Riddick, which is awesome! I really enjoyed the last film, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with next for the character. Here's what Diesel had to say,

I'm just excited, and happy, and I'm shouting out to you guys to say thank you. Universal just called me and told me Riddick is number one on the DVD charts. There's no way Riddick would have been made without you guys. You know that. and you guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated, and to do it with such a low budget. It's a win for all of us and I really, really thank you so much. Yeah, I'm excited, and of course, Universal also says they want to develop the next one.

You can watch the video for yourself below. It's 7-minues of the guy singing, dancing, and just being happy.

Footage of a Blonde Tom Hiddleston Auditioning for THOR

For those of you who didn't know, Tom Hiddleston originally auditioned for the part of Thor in Marvel's film before he ended up landing the part of the villain Loki. Some footage has now surfaced from a screen test that features Hiddleston shirtless and with blonde hair. It's hard to see him as Thor, especially since he's been so incredible as Loki. Marvel made the right decision in how they cast this movie. It's so weird watching Hiddleston try to be Thor!

Ben Affleck Addresses Batman Casting Backlash

Love him or hate him, Ben Affleck is going to be Batman in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman. It seems that over time people have been warming up to the idea of Affleck playing Batman, but there are still some fans out there that aren't sold on it. I predict that they will be as soon as they see him in the awesome suit that we've been hearing about. In a recent interview with Playboy, the actor talks about understanding the backlash of the fans, as well as the parts of Snyder’s vision that made him want to take the role.

"I understand I'm at a disadvantage with the internet. If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I'd be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn't think it was going to be good and that I could be good in it?... [But] I've learned it doesn't matter what people think before a movie comes out; what matters is what people think when they see the movie. There's a lot of noise in the world, and the internet magnifies that energy. My focus is on the actual execution of the movie. Would I have had that perspective 10 years ago? I don't know. The world was different then.

"It seems odd to me to criticize casting if you haven't read the script and don't know the tone or the take. But the casting of high-profile projects seems to generate negative attention; it's fun to give your thumbs-up or thumbs-down. I've had the luxury recently of doing ArgoThe Town and The Company Men, films that didn't have a high profile. You have the luxury of waiting until the movie is released before being judged. I've learned to think, I may succeed or fail, but I'm going to do so on the merit of my own instincts. It's a great business in that way. You do a movie that's successful, you get a little victory lap, and then you start at the beginning; you have to prove yourself all over again. I like that because it motivates you to work harder."

Affleck then admits that he passed on the role initially, but was eventually swayed by Snyder’s approach to the character.

"The stuff was incredible. … It was a unique take on Batman that was still consistent with the mythology. It made me excited. All of a sudden I had a reading of the character. When people see it, it will make more sense than it does now or even than it did to me initially."

Affleck goes on to say that that his one true regret in his acting career is Daredevil, because he does love the character and just wishes his attempt at playing Matt Murdoch turned out better. You know what though, Daredevil wasn't his fault, it was the writing and directing that made that movie suck. I think Affleck would have been fine in the role had he been surrounded by better talent.

I just can't wait to see what Snyder has in store for fans with this Man of Steal sequel! I'm thinking the first time we see Affleck in his costume will be at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Intense Trailer for Nicolas Cage's JOE

It's been a long time since I've seen a Nicolas Cage movie that I've actually liked. This is the trailer for a movie called Joe, which he made with director David Gordon Green, and it actually looks like a good, intense movie. I don't get excited about Cage movies, but this is an exception, I want to see this one. It comes from the director who brought us Pineapple Express, Your Highness, The Sitter and Prince Avalanche. Then there's Cage, who seems to give a pretty solid performance.

The movie is based on the Larry Brown novel of the same name, and here's the synopsis,

In the dirty unruly world of small-town Texas, ex-convict Joe Ransom (Cage) has tried to put his dark past behind him and to live a simple life. He works for a lumber company by day, drinks by night. But when 15-year-old Gary (Tye Sheridan) - a kid trying to support his family - comes to town, desperate for work, Joe has found a way to atone for his sins - to finally be someone’s hero. As Joe tries to protect Gary, the pair will take the twisting road to redemption in the hope for a better life in this tough, hard-hitting but incredibly moving story.

There's no release date for the film yet. We got the heads up on the trailer from The Playlist, who had this to say about the movie,

"While the film flirts with a number of genres genres—melodrama, comedy, coming-of-age—it ultimately lands closest to being Green’s first western by the time it reaches its conclusion."

Sounds good to me.

Marvel has revealed a new comic that will serve as a prelude to their upcoming film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The comic was written by Peter David with art by Rock-He Kim. We've included a sample of his art from the comic for you to check out.

The story follows Captain America, Black Widow, and Agent Brock "Crossbones" Rumlow going after a mysterious "Zodiac" device in Chicago. David talked about the story, saying,

"They know what S.H.I.E.L.D. has told them: that they're looking for the Zodiac, but they know little to nothing about it. To the Black Widow and Rumlow, that's fine. They're okay with doing what they're told.  Cap, however, is way more suspicious and wants a clearer idea of what's going on, and is annoyed that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't big on being forthcoming."

You can view the comic by clicking here. The movie will hit theaters on April 4th, 2014.

Found this really cool piece of art by Andy Timm where Venom and Bane have an arm wrestling match as their respective universes look onward. The first thought many of you will have is that Nolan's Bane would have zero chance of defeating Venom in this match up, but what about comic book Bane? See below for the alternate comic-costume version of the characters!

John Cusack and Robert De Niro star alongside each other in a crime thriller called The Bagman. We have the first trailer for the film for you to check out, and it looks pretty decent if you enjoy these kinds of films. The story follows a criminal who "bides his time at a seedy motel, waiting for his boss after killing several men and making away with a mystery bag." Other cast members include Crispin Glover, Rebecca Da Costa, and Martin Klebba, who play some interesting looking characters. Here's the official synopsis:

THE BAG MAN is a taut crime thriller that follows JACK (John Cusack), a tough guy with chronic bad luck but human touches, and legendary crime boss DRAGNA (Robert De Niro). DRAGNA has summoned JACK and a host of shady characters to a remote bayou motel for unknown reasons, and over the course of a long and violently eventful night, Jack’s path crosses with the stunningly beautiful RIVKA (Rebecca Da Costa). All of their fates intertwine, and when Dragna arrives on the scene there are sudden and extreme consequences for everyone involved.

The movie is set to get a limited release on February 28th.

Paramount Pictures has released a new poster for Darren Aronofsky's Noah featuring Russell Crowe as the title character. This biblical epic looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see more footage from the movie, and we will on Super Bowl Sunday with a new TV spot!

Thankfully we don't have to wait very long for its release. Noah is scheduled to hit theaters on March 28th, 2014. Make sure to check out the trailer here

Carl Sagan's The Cosmos is a classic documentary. Sagan's eloquence and ease of speaking make even the most complex scientific ideas relatively easy to grasp. Plus, space is cool. A lot of people were very wary when Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane announced his plans to reboot the series, which is to be titled Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. But recent news that he has enlisted famous scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson will put many minds at ease! The series is set to air sometime this year on FOX.

The latest TV spot for The Walking Dead season 4.5 is called "Not Afraid," and it features some more footage from what we can expect to see happen when the show returns to AMC.

The group is now divided, and the trailer features Carl and a beaten and bruised Rick on the road. Michonne has to fend for herself against a horde of zombies. Then there's Daryl, who ain't afraid of nothin', and young Beth is looking like she's on the road to being a badass. Things are looking very bleak for the show's characters, and it's going to be interesting to see where they all end up at the end of the season.

The series returns on February 9th!

A year ago some test footage was released for a sci-fi film project called Prospect. Today we have an actual trailer for the indie film, which was directed by Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell. I think the movie looks like it could be really cool and worth checking out.

The film is described as an "unusual coming-of-age story following a teenage girl and her father on a foreign planet as they hunt for resin, the valuable byproduct of rare insects. Inspired in part by the California Gold Rush, the film features a planet of desperate individuals seeking their fortunes, governed only by natural law. When the father is attacked by a roving bandit, the daughter must take vengeance."

The film was funded through Kickstarter, and as of right now, there no information on when we might get to see it.

Here's a low resolution photo featuring what CBM claims are the final designs for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie character designs. The photo of the maquettes come from someone "close to the production." There's no confirmation that these are legit designs, but they do look pretty cool, and they are the kind of designs that I would expect to see in a Michael Bay production. I hope they're are legit, because they look like some pretty hardcore ninja turtles. I've also include some set photos of a crazy looking Shredder below, and a better look at Leonardo and Donatello.

The Jonathan Liebesman-directed film is based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. It stars Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fichtner as the villain Shredder.

The movie hits theaters on August 8th, 2014. For more information on the characters in the film, click here.

Warner Bros. has released a fourth TV spot for The LEGO Movie, and this one gives you your first look at Bruce Wayne. The studio seems to be leaving nothing to the imagination as they are showing off a ton of footage from the film. A couple days ago they released nine clips. I do have to say, though, everything that's been released has been pretty awesome. The movie comes out on February 7th, and it's going to deliver some fantastically fun entertainment.

MATRIX Inspired Kia Super Bowl Ad with Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus

Laurence Fishburne reprises his role as Morpheus in this great Super Bowl commercial for the Kia K900. It's called "The Truth," and it's obviously inspired by the classic sci-fi film franchise The Matrix. The commercial is 90-seconds long, which will cost Kia a cool $6 million to air during the big game. I really loved how this commercial turned out, and I'm sure many of you will enjoy it, so check it out!

An unsuspecting couple meets Morpheus at a valet stand. He presents them with two choices: a red key or a blue key. Should they choose wisely, they'll never look at luxury—or Kia—the same again.

The second season of Bates Motel is set to premiere in March, and today we have a couple of new TV spots for you to check out. The first is called "Mr. Sandman," and it has a very creepy vibe to it. The second is just an extended look at what we can expect to see in the new season, and it looks great.

Bates Motel gives viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first hand just how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is and how she helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.

The series returns to A&E on March 3rd, 2014. I really enjoyed the first season, and I'm excited for its return.
