Jack Black in Talks to Star in GOOSEBUMPS Movie

jack-black-in-talks-to-star-in-goosebumps-movie-header.jpg

I used to like Jack Black as an actor, but most of the stuff he's involved with recently has been kind of crappy. He also just doesn't seem as funny as he used to be. The actor is currently in negotiations to join the big screen adaptation of R.L. Stine’s kid's horror book series, Goosebumps

If he joins the movie, he'll be re-teaming with director Rob Letterman, who worked with Black on Shark Tale, and the terrible film, Gulliver's Travels

According to The Wrap, if Black is cast he "would play a Stine-like author whose scary characters literally leap off the page, forcing him to hide from his own creepy creations."

That's the first bit of plot information that we've seen for the movie so far. I hope it turns out to be good. I think there's a lot of potential, I'm just not too thrilled about the people who are working on the project.

Two TV Spots for Prison Break Film ESCAPE PLAN

Summit Entertainment has released two new TV spots for Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger's prison break film, Escape Plan. I know the movie isn't going to be amazing, but I think it will be really entertaining.

The movie was directed by Mikael Håfström (1408), and also stars Jim Caviezel, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Amy Ryan. I'm very excited to see this movie now. Here's the synopsis:

Ray Breslin (Stallone), the world's foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called 'The Tomb.' But when he is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

It's set to be released on October 18th.

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 Moves into Development!

Well, Entertainment One and FilmDistrict didn't waste any time moving Insidious: Chapter 3 into development. The studios have hired the writer of the first two films, Leigh Whannell, to write the third installment of the amazing horror franchise.

There's still no word on whether director James Wan will be coming back to direct. As we discussed earlier today, there's a good chance that he's going to be stepping away from the horror genre to focus on other types of films.

I hope he comes back to direct it, but chances are he'll end up being a producer on the film and finding someone else to take over the directing duties. It makes me a little bit nervous, because Wan is such a great director. Those will be big shoes to fill.

Whether he directs or not, I'm happy they got the same writer back, and I'm still looking forward to seeing where they take the story!

Dwayne Johnson continues to tease Brett Ratner's Hercules with a new behind the scenes set photo. The image came with the following caption,

"A 300 BC Demigod. A director @BrettRatner hungry to deliver an epic story. Excited to bring you#HERCULESMovie"

The movie is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, and the movie is described as a "revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist."

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend… Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules' help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail... he must again become the hero he once was... he must embrace his own myth... he must be Hercules.

The movie also stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Aksel Hennie, Reece Ritchie, and Tobias Santelmann. The movie is set to be released on July 25th, 2014.

"No, you and your friends sitting in there pretending to be elves and fairies... that's what's disturbing."

This is the official trailer for the funny looking fantasy role-playing comedy, Zero Charisma. The movie comes from Chris Hardwick's Nerdist, and this is their first feature film production. The story follows the Game Master of a role-playing game who becomes threatened when a hipster-style geek named Miles joins the group and becomes the life of the role-playing party.

The movie was directed by Katie Graham and Andrew Matthews and stars Sam Eidson, Garrett Graham, Brock England, Anne Gee Byrd, and Cyndi Williams .

As the strict Game Master of a fantasy role-playing game, Scott (Sam Eidson) leads his friends in a weekly quest through mysterious lands from the safety of his grandmother’s kitchen. But his mastery of his own domain starts to slip—along with everything else in his life—when neo-nerd hipster Miles (Garrett Graham) joins the game, winning over the group with his confident charm and dethroning Scott with an unexpected coup. Caught in delusions of grandeur, Scott must roll the dice and risk everything to expose Miles as the fraud he believes him to be. A darkly comedic fable of epic proportions, Zero Charisma is an ode to nerds from every realm.

The movie will be released on iTunes on October 8th, and then will get a theatrical release on October 11th. Enjoy the trailer!

Its almost here! GTA V is just on the horizon, and in celebration of what will take up the majority of my time for the next few weeks, here are some cool pieces of art from fellow GTA fan Patrick Brown. I included an older piece of his, titled Legends 2012, as it's a nice glimpse at GTA's past. Also, its cool, so there's that. If you like what you see, you can head to Patrick's Facebook page and Deviant Art gallery for more of his work. Who is heading out to pick up their copy of GTA at midnight?

fast-and-furious-3-tokyo-drift-2006-lucas-black.jpg

I'm so freakin' excited about this news! I was hoping that Tokyo Drift star Lucas Black would find his way back into the Fast and Furious franchise, and he has! Deadline reports that the actor will be part of the next three installments of the franchise! He played Sean Boswell Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, and he's been one of my favorite characters in the series. I couldn't be happier to hear this news. Fast and Furious 7 just got even more awesome!

Insidious: Chapter 2 director James Wan is currently directing the seventh film which also stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Tony Jaa,  Djimon Honsou, and more.

What do you all think about Black reprising his role in the next three movies?

Two New Posters for BAD GRANDPA

In Bad Grandpa, Johnny Knoxville reprises his role as Irving Zisman, a fictional 86-year-old vulgar grandpa, who we've watched piss off a lot of people in the previous Jackass films. This movie looks like it's going to be hilarious, and audiences seem pretty excited about it.

Paramount Pictures has released these two new poster for the film featuring Irving and his grandson, who are going to cause a lot of fantastically uncomfortable havoc.

The movie hits theaters on October 25th! If you want to watch the trailer again, click here

hr_Jackass_Presents-_Bad_Grandpa_6.jpg
86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.
Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.
Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.

Check out this great mash-up parody of The Last Supper featuring the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Of course, this has been done with Star Wars and several other franchises, but for some reason the pizza and ooze on the table just make this one greater than the rest. One question though, why does Michaelangelo have the one slice of pizza and not Leonardo?! Great drawing by Brian Gerbetz.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Joins James Cameron's AVATAR Sequel

Expendables-Arnold-Schwarzenegger.jpg

James Cameron is preparing to jump into production on his three Avatar sequels. The next films will obviously take place after the events of the first movie, and Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are set to reprise their roles. According to Cameron, the humans will be back to cause some more problems with Na'vi. His exact words were "nasty humans," and now thanks to Latino-Review, we know who one of those nasty humans will be… Arnold Schwarzenegger

They say that he will play a villainous human general. Schwarzenegger hasn't worked with Cameron in more than 20 years, so it's going to be awesome to see the two teaming back up to create another badass movie! Cameron helped take Schwarzenegger's career to a new level with Terminator, and the rest is history. As much as I loved the Terminator movies, my favorite movie that the two worked on together was True Lies

Since Schwarzenegger retired from politics, he's had a hard time getting his career back on track with films like The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand. He's got another movie that I'm looking forward to called Ten, which was directed by David Ayer, but working with Cameron again might just be the boost that his career needs to really get him back in the game.

I couldn't be more excited to see these two guys working together again! What do you think about it?

THE WALKING DEAD's Laurie Holden Joins DUMB AND DUMBER TO

Walking Dead star Laurie Holden will take on the lead female character in the Peter and Bobby Farrelly-directed Dumb and Dumber To.

the-walking-deads-laurie-holden-joins-dumb-and-dumber-to-header.jpg

According to Deadline, Holden will play a character named Adele Pichlow, "the well to do wife of a doctor who is up to no good and who plans to use Harry and Lloyd to cover her tracks. "

We've previously been told that the movie takes place 20 years after the events of the first film, and this is what director Bobby Farrelly previously had to say about the story,

"I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them and it's 20 years later... these guys are in regular life and they're still basically children at heart. The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child. They want to go and find the child because he's having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys."

Holden is a solid actress, and I'm sure she'll be great in this.

Warner Bros. Will Announce New DC Comics Films Soon

We've all been wondering when Warner Bros. is really going to pull the trigger on making more movies based on DC Comics superheroes. We know Batman Vs. Superman is one the way, but it looks like the studio will be making more announcements in the near future.

Warner Bros. releases 12 to 14 movies annually, and CEO Kevin Tsujihara says that the foundation of their upcoming slate of films will come from DC Entertainment,

"I think the basis, foundation of those 12 to 14 pictures are going to be coming from DC Entertainment."

He goes on to confirm the title of Batman Vs. Superman, and talks about the upcoming announcements, saying,
"We have Batman Vs. Superman coming out in 2015, but there are going to be in the coming months a lot of announcements regarding the future movie, television, games and consumer product pieces that are going to be coming from DC... DC really does touch a lot of parts of our business and is an important part of the strategy in how we are going to grow going forward."

I'm looking forward to hearing about what they have in store for the fans, but I imagine we will finally get The Flash, Wonder Woman, Guillermo Del Toro's Justice League Dark, and a few others as well.

What DC superhero movie would you like to see get made most (outside of the movies mentioned in this article)?

Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity can't be released soon enough! The reviews have been incredible, and my excitement for it keeps growing. I just want it to be released already so I can watch it! Fortunately, we don't have to wait much longer as it comes out on October 4th. The new TV spot offers up some new footage from the amazingly intense-looking film.

I'm so glad I will never have to worry about going into space and getting stuck out there.

Update on New MORTAL KOMBAT Movie

Director Kevin Tancharoen is the guy who revived Mortal Kombat by turning it into the badass web-series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy. The second season of the series is set to premiere later this month, but Tancharoen has also been hard at work on developing a new feature length film. During an interview with Comingsoon, he was asked about the status of that film, and he offered an update on where the movie currently stands.

"We're still pushing through on that. The script is in a good place, we're just kind of figuring out the budget and locations and that whole process is where we're at."

Wen asked if his Legacy series would connect to the film he's working on, he said,

"I think everyone's intention is to start fresh because we want Legacy to live on its own possibly for multiple seasons, and when it comes to Mortal Kombat, it's been around for 20+ years. We're going to take the mythology and add another layer on it so it can live on for another 20 years, or more! I think this is a unique opportunity to set that ground work."

Sounds good to me! It never hurts to expand on a world that already exists. I've really enjoyed what Tancharoen has done with the franchise so far, and it will be great to see what he will do with a feature length film and a solid budget.

It was shot in Lagos, Nigeria, and the story centers on a man who witnesses an alien invasion. For a short made with no budget it turned out decent. Check it out!

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce and star in Wilson, a biopic about President Woodrow Wilson, for Warner Bros. I like DiCaprio as an actor, and I think this is a solid role for him that he'll be able to pull off.

The movie will be based on the biography written by A. Scott Berg, and here's the description from the book:

One hundred years after his inauguration, Woodrow Wilson still stands as one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century, and one of the most enigmatic. And now, after more than a decade of research and writing, Pulitzer Prize-winning author A. Scott Berg has completed Wilson--the most personal and penetrating biography ever written about the 28th President.
In addition to the hundreds of thousands of documents in the Wilson Archives, Berg was the first biographer to gain access to two recently-discovered caches of papers belonging to those close to Wilson. From this material, Berg was able to add countless details--even several unknown events--that fill in missing pieces of Wilson’s character and cast new light on his entire life.
From the scholar-President who ushered the country through its first great world war to the man of intense passion and turbulence , from the idealist determined to make the world “safe for democracy” to the stroke-crippled leader whose incapacity and the subterfuges around it were among the century’s greatest secrets, the result is an intimate portrait written with a particularly contemporary point of view – a book at once magisterial and deeply emotional about the whole of Wilson’s life, accomplishments, and failings. This is not just Wilson the icon – but Wilson the man.

What do you think about DiCaprio playing Woodrow Wilson?
