KICK-ASS 2 - New Poster and Photo of The The Mother F*****

Christopher Mintz-Plasse strikes a pose as The Mother F***** in this latest photo from Kick-Ass 2, and we have a new poster for the film as well. One of the things I love about this character is that as badass as he tries to look, he still comes off as incredibly non-threatening. It's like the more he tries, the funnier it is. I'm not sure if that's what they are going for, but that's how I take it.

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

The Jeff Wadlow-directed film looks just as insane as the first one. I'm hoping it ends up being a better all around film. I think it's possible! It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Morris Chestnut, John LeguizamoOlga Kurkulina, Clark Dukeand Donald Faison.

It comes out on August 16th, 2013!

Here are a couple of never before seen photos of Heath Ledger as the Joker from the set of the The Dark Knight. The picturess were taken with the film's fight trainer Justo Dieguez. I wonder how fans will react when someone new comes in to play the Joker. It's hard to think that anyone can live up to what Ledger did.

SONS OF ANARCHY Promo Trailer - Brawl

After the intensity of the last season of Sons of Anarchy, it makes sense that everyone in the crew would be in a fighting mood. There's a lot of hatred and tension among these people. FX has released a new promo spot for the the sixth season of the series. It's called "Brawl," and it features the characters in a brawl.

I was a latecomer to this show, but I started getting caught up and watching it a few years ago. I'm glad I did because it's freakin' awesome! If you haven't started watching it yet, I suggest you start!

The show will have a panel at Comic-Con next week, and I'm sure we'll get to see some more footage of what's in store for the upcoming season. I can't wait to see where they take these characters next.

In anticipation of Comic-Con, Warner Bros. has released a new poster for their epic-looking fantasy action film, 300: Rise of an Empire, and it features an Immortal with the tag line, "Fear Us." The movie looks like it's going to be great. I really liked what I saw in the first trailer. I'm looking forward to seeing more at Comic-Con next week!

The movie is being directed by Noam Murro from a screenplay written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad. It's based on the graphic novel Xerxes, by Frank Miller

The movie is set to be released on August 2nd, 2013, and here's the synopsis:

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, “300: Rise of an Empire.” The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton (Gangster Squad) as Themistokles and Eva Green (Dark Shadows, Casino Royale) as Artemisia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from 300 as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans) stars as Aeskylos; David Wenham returns as Dilios, and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

When the official schedule for Comic-Con came out last week it didn't include what 20th Century Fox would be bringing to Comic-Con, but now we know.

Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold will both be in attendance to show off The Wolverine, which will be released shortly after the convention ends. I've already seen enough of the movie, but I'm sure they'll show off something new.

Then Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and director Matt Reeves will show up to promote their new film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes! It's safe to say that they will be showing off some footage from the movie.

The studio also teases a surprise panel promising "something major." This will most likely be X-Men: Days of Future Past, and the official announcement of X-Force and any other film projects they are developing. If they really wanted to surprise me though, they'll finally announce that Deadpool movie!Fox's panel begins at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday in Hall H.

A new superhero is coming, only this time it's on his terms. Will he still be considered a hero?

First Look at Johnny Depp's TRANSCENDENCE - Photo, Featurette, and Poster

Here's our first look at Johnny Depp's new sci-fi film Transcendence, which is directed by Christopher Nolan's cinematographer Wally Pfister. Nolan is producing the film and it also stars Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, Clifton Collins Jr., Kate Mara, and Paul Bettany.

We've got a behind the scenes photo, a video featurette, and a teaser poster for you to check out. It's all in Chinese, but it's still cool. You get a look at several of the actors on set doing their thing and Hall saying hello. The movie is supposed to be in the same vein as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Inception, and here's a description...

Three scientists -- Max and the husband and wife team, Will and Evelyn -- have been developing a programming code for the world’s first fully self-aware computer. Depp will play one of the lead scientists, Will. A group of anti-technology terrorists assassinate Will, Evelyn uploads his brain into a prototype supercomputer. Although she at first finds the experiment seems to have gone wrong, before too long Evelyn finds Will responding in computer form. She goes on to connect Will to the Internet so he can help make further scientific breakthroughs. Will asks Evelyn to connect a microphone and a camera up to the computer so he can see and speak to her as well. Will creates a backup of himself to every computer in the world, and furthers his work through accessing online indexes. When the anti-technology organization finds out, they try to steal the supercomputer and destroy it, but Will no longer needs the computer to survive.

The movie is set to be released on April 18th, and I'm sure it going to turn out great! I love the crazy, mindbending plot!

Justin Lin to Develop BRUCE LEE TV Project

Fast and Furious franchise director Justin Lin has teamed up with Perfect Storm Entertainment, Bruno Wu, and Bruce Lee Enterprises to develop a TV series based on an idea that legendary Martial artist Bruce Lee came up with. In fact, Lee wrote it.

There are no details on what the series will be about, but the plan is to make it an hour-long show. According to Deadline, this is a passion project for Lin, and he will most likely direct the pilot episode. I think it's cool that some of Lee's old projects will actually get made! It will be interesting to see what this series ends up being.

A few years ago we reported on another unproduced Bruce Lee project that was going to be adapted into a film called The Silent Flute. Since then I haven't heard anything about it. I doubt that this new series has anything in common with that, but it would be cool if it did.

Lee wrote the script with James Coburn, and it centered on martial artist rebel named Cord who embarks on a quest for the Book of Enlightenment, which is kept by the mysterious Zetan. He must pass various trials along the way that educate him in Zen philosophy. Among the characters that he runs across are a blind flute-player, a monkey chieftain, a death character, and the leader of a gypsy tribe (all played by David Carradine), who acts as a reluctant mentor to Cord. Some trials involve combat, while others involve riddles or encounters with unusual characters, such as a man who has been standing in a barrel of oil for 10 years in an attempt to remove the lower half of his body so he is no longer distracted by his genitals. Cord successfully passes all trials and is able to view the Book of Enlightenment. He discovers that each page in the book is a mirror, showing him that the secret to enlightenment and all knowledge is already within himself. He then returns to the outside world to himself become a mentor for later seekers.

THE CONJURING Creepy Featurette Focuses on Lorraine Warren

A new featurette has been released for James Wan's awesomely terrifying-looking film The Conjuring. It gives us an in-depth look at the real paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren, who is played by Vera Farmiga in the film. The video includes footage from the film and an interview with Lorraine as she talks about her life and career as a demonologist. It's actually a pretty creepy featurette, especially when she points out an evil doll that she refuses to look at.

The movie also stars Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, and Sterling Jerins. Here's the synopsis.

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

The movie is set to haunt theaters on July 19th, 2013. Thanks to Trailer Addict for the embed!

X-MEN Set Photo Features "Man on Wire"

Bryan Singer posted another photo from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past on his Twitter account, and it came with the caption, "Man on Wire." As you can see, it features one of the characters from X-Men using his mutant powers. I think it might be Michael Fassbender as Magneto.

Starring Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Boo Boo Stewart, the mutant ensemble hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
The film is based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

R.I.P.D. - 5 Clips from the Supernatural Action Film

Universal Pictures has released five fun clips from their supernatural action film R.I.P.D., which sees Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as two undead lawmen trying to save the world from the evil souls that have escaped justice. I know the movie won't be great, but it will be entertaining.

Nick is dead -- at least, that's how he remembers it -- and teams up with another deceased detective, a gunslinger from the Old West (played by Jeff Bridges), to work for the elite task force, the Rest In Peace Department (hence the title), to track down the dead on Earth. (Due to overpopulation, some unsettled spirits haven't gone where they're supposed to, and are hiding out). Technically, R.I.P.D. officers (who are overseen by (Mary-Louise Parker) aren't allowed to kill anyone living, and aren't supposed to interact with anyone from their previous lives, but Nick is haunted by the fact that he was murdered by another cop (played by Kevin Bacon), and can't let it go.

The movie also stars James Hong, Mary-Louise Parker, Robert Knepper, and Kevin Bacon. It opens in theaters in 3D on July 19th, 2013.

First of all, if you haven't seen Pacific Rim yet, watch it as soon as you can! The movie is incredible! The script, story, and acting may not be top notch, but it's giant robots fighting giant monsters, and it's an amazingly fun time. It made me fell like I was 10 years old again.

Imaginary Forces, the company that created the awesome opening and closing title sequences for the movie, has released them online so you can watch them. Check them out below.

Also, if you haven't seen the movie yet, make sure to stay because there's a fun post credits scene.

A foreboding war room map collapses inwards, enveloping the emblems of fallen heroes. IF Director Miguel Lee worked with the film's director Guillermo del Toro to create this ominous prelude which ushers us into the apocalyptic world of Pacific Rim.
As the smoke clears from the epic battle, we venture through a panoply of monsters, machines, and their monumental feats. IF Creative Director Miguel Lee and his team worked closely with the film's director Guillermo del Toro to present his colossal creations in stylistic fashion, combining macro-photography and a graphic novel aesthetic in stereoscopic 3D.

STAR TREK 3 to Shoot Next Year with J.J. Abrams Directing?

$

Zachary Quinto has revealed some interesting news about Star Trek 3. He did an interview with BuzzHub and apparently said that the movie will shoot next year, and that J.J. Abrams wants to direct it. Here's what the site reports,

"I attended a public interview with Zachary Quinto at the Galway Film Festival in Ireland on Friday, and during it, he revealed that Paramount have told the Star Trek cast that they're planning to shoot ST3 in 2014, and that J.J. still wants to direct! He also told the audience he does not want to be in Episode VII, but he would like to cameo in The Big Bang Theory!"

Here's an exact quote from Quinto,

"Star Trek 3 should be filming, I suppose, next year. It’s going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That’s the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet."

I'll be shocked if Abrams comes on to direct it, especially since he'll be heavily involved with Star Wars: Episode VII. He says nothing is confirmed, so I seriously doubt it will happen. Who do you think should come on board to direct the sequel?

Disney has released a new full trailer for their Cars spin-off, Planes. The movie was originally supposed to be a straight to Blu-ray and DVD release, but then the studio decided to give it a theatrical release, and I'm sure it will pay off for them. It looks like it will be a fun movie, and kids are going to drag their parents to the theaters to watch it.

Dane Cook stars as the lead character, Dusty, with Julia Louis-DreyfusTeri Hatcher, and John Cleese filling in some voices as well. Planes also includes a Top Gun reunion for Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards. Then there's Brad Garrett, Stacy Keach, Colin CowherdCedric the EntertainerGabriel IglesiasCarlos AlazraquiPriyanka Chopra, and Sinbad.

The new Godzilla film is shooting in Hawaii right now, and KITV reported from the set of the film on Waikiki Beach. The video below shows some footage from the set featuring destroyed buildings and bloody extras. Godzilla obviously is going to tear a path through the popular island vacation spot. There's also a new viral website called "Godzilla Encounters," that you can check out here. It basically features news clippings and articles about strange activity in the ocean and off the coast, attempting to bring the movie to life in the real world. It's tracking the monster's path to San Diego.

The Gareth Edwards-directed film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston and Sally Hawkins.

The movie hits the big screen May 16th, 2014, and I can't wait to see what they have planned for the film at Comic-Con next week!

Robert Kirkman's In-Depth Discussion on WALKING DEAD Season 4

$

0

The Walking Dead creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman recently gave an in-depth interview to THR about the show's highly anticipated fourth season. He talked about some of the changes that are coming. Kirkman says that it will be "more focused on who these characters are and what they're going through, we got away from that a little bit in season three." He also went on to talk about Michonne's mission, Carl, Andrea, the character Bob Stookey, The Governo,r and more! Fans have a lot to look forward too!

If Frank Darabont's run was described as nuanced and Mazzara's was fast-paced, how will Gimple's tenure be described?

It's a much more character-based story. It's going to be more focused on who these characters are and what they're going through. To a certain extent, we got away from that a little bit in season three. Coming into season four, we're definitely going to know a lot more about these people so it will be that much more gut-wrenching and worse when we lose these characters.
How is the show different under Gimple's leadership?
More than any other showrunner, Scott actually read the comics regularly and was a huge fan before the show existed and watched the first season and was a fan before he was brought on as a writer in season two. He absolutely loves the material. We are definitely going in some new directions and this will continue to be a different take on the material form the comics but there will possibly be some scenes that are a little bit closer to the comic than we've done in the past. Season four probably has the most number of scenes that are adapted directly from the comic series or very close to what we did. A good deal of that is from Scott and the way he views that material and puts forth that extra effort to work it into the show in a way that it all works.
When does season four pick up? What kind of a time jump will there be?
There's going to be a bit of a time jump. Some time has passed between season three and season four. It's only a few months, we're not nailing down the exact number of days or anything like that. The prison that we see is a very different prison and the characters that we see are very different from the last time we saw them. We go into season four with characters you've known for four years and still find new things to explore with them and new aspects of their character and see that they are growing and changing in extremely dramatic ways due to the strains that this world has put upon them.

What kind of condition will the group be in after Andrea and Merle's death?

These are big deaths they're dealing with. Rick is still very much dealing with Lori's (Sarah Wayne Callies) death and everyone is still missing T-Dog (IronE Singleton). These were some really big, dramatic losses that took place in season three and that's something that's very much going to play into season four and how they move forward. A lot of those deaths and those actions from season three have direct results on where we pick up things up in season four. We'll see there was a plan involved and these things do lead to other things, which in turn, makes them worthwhile. I miss these characters as much as everybody else but you'll see that they do benefit the story in some really cool ways and will lead to a lot of interesting things moving forward.

Season three was about two divided camps -- Rick and the Governor's. How will season four be different with the Governor still out there?

We're telling completely different stories. While the Governor is still out there and still a threat, we're going to see him in a new light and he won't appear until we least expect it. I don't think people are really going to be able to anticipate what we do with the Governor; it's going to be radically different. Once that story unfolds over the course of this season, people will see this is a very different story from season three and we are breaking some new ground with these characters.
The series took a major departure from the comics with Andrea's death. How will we see her death impact everyone?
That death is going to loom large over the entire cast. Everyone is still reeling from it. Michonne (Danai Gurira) in particular is going to have quite a bit going on with her because of that loss. As we meet Michonne coming back this season, she's on a mission to hunt down the Governor. It's something she's very obsessed with. It's big part of her character this season. She did lose Andrea and she lost her because of the Governor. She's not willing to let that guy go or be out there. It's something that may possibly be to her detriment, the fact that she's so dedicated to finding this person. That's something that very much informs her character this season.

How will Michonne's search for the Governor conflict with what Rick? Is he going to be eager to go after this guy again?

Rick is always trying to do what he feels is best for his family. When he feels like it's best to be the leader and take charge and push people away and do these seemingly crazy things that he was doing in season three, that was all in an effort to protect Carl and Judith. Now he's seen a different path that needs to be protected in a different way and that childhood needs to be preserved and they need to have stability. What he's doing now seems to be a bit more passive and less of a leadership role. But at the same time, he's also trying to be that standard that Carl and Judith can grow up with. He's trying to provide for them in a different and more meaningful way and maintain their childhoods to a certain extent. He's doing something very different, but his goals are still the same: keep these kids safe and growing up.

Carl could really go either toward the Governor or toward Rick. How will we find him handling a new group of people to care for at the prison considering we saw him kill someone he thought was a threat in cold blood last year.

That's something that has become huge part of Carl's character. That event and the fact that he did that. It's something that Rick has been somewhat terrified by; the fact that his son went to that place and is growing into that person. That's informing both Rick and Carl's actions as they move into this season. There are more people around, there are people from Woodbury that are now living there and Carl is having to deal with this. His behavior is being guided by Rick and his role as father to him. There's some interesting stuff coming up with Carl that I can't reveal right now but there's good stuff ahead.

You've cast Larry Gilliard Jr. as Bob Stookey, who in the comics helps save the Governor after Michonne tortures him following her rape. How will you be approaching the violence that comes with this story line this season? Or was Maggie's torment from season three all we'll see on that front?

Bob Stookey is very much the character that he was in the comic series. He also appears in the novel series and is a pretty big character there as well. Maybe that means we're adapting some of the stories he was involved in, maybe we're doing some other things he was a part of or maybe we're going a different way. Like all of the other characters, though we may do different things with them, they are very much the they're same characters that are being adapted into this world and have the same personalities and back stories. Bob will be someone who is familiar to the comic and novel audience but we're definitely not married to doing those stories and could do different things there.
