PARANOIA Trailer with Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Richard Dreyfuss

Relativity Media has released the first trailer for the new thriller Paranoia. The movie has a great cast of actors that include Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Richard Dreyfuss. Oh, I almost forgot Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) stars in it as well. No offense to Hemsworth, but as you'll see in the trailer, he doesn't belong on the screen with these other acting legends. There are so many other talented young actors out there, but because he's a Hemsworth the studios want to try and make him a big star like his big brother Chris. The only thing is, he's not as talented. Remember when they tried to cast Taylor Lautner in everything? It didn't seem work out for him too well did it. It looks like this movie has potential. I just don't think Hemsworth can carry it. He did have this to say in a statement,

Knowing that those guys were coming aboard is pretty frightening. I’ve never worked with people like that before.

And it shows. Here's the synopsis:

The high stakes thriller Paranoia takes us deep behind the scenes of global success to a deadly world of greed and deception.  The two most powerful tech billionaires in the world (Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman) are bitter rivals with a complicated past who will stop at nothing to destroy each other.  A young superstar (Liam Hemsworth), seduced by unlimited wealth and power falls between them, and becomes trapped in the middle of the twists and turns of their life-and-death game of corporate espionage.  By the time he realizes his life is in danger, he is in far too deep and knows far too much for them to let him walk away.

The movie comes out on August 16th. Watch the trailer and let us know whether you think it's going to be good or not.

X-BOX ONE: A SPACE ODYSSEY - Comedy Short

A lot of people aren't excited about Microsoft's new X-Box One. I've been seeing more and more hate for it. People don't like the fact that it seems like it will always watch them. I could care less. I think the thing is cool. But here's a hilarious short film that takes those ideas that people don't like about it and gives them a 2001: A Space Odyssey twist. The short was created by the team at GrittyReboots. It's called X-Box One: A Space Odyssey, and it's brilliant! I hope you get a laugh out of this. I sure did. Enjoy the show!

Here's a second poster for Sofia Vergara's character poster in Machete Kills. As you can see she's packing some heat with her boob guns, and she's got a whip! So anyone that gets in her way is pretty much screwed. This movie looks even more ridiculous than the first one. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out here

Danny Trejo leads the ensemble cast that includes Lady Gaga, Cuba Gooding Jr.Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Edward James Olmos, William Sadler, Mark Zaror, Demián BichirMel Gibson, and Charlie Sheen, who for the first time is going by his given name Carlos Estevez

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Joins Alex Proyas' GODS OF EGYPT

Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been cast as the main character in Alex Pyoyas' epic fantasy film project Gods of Egypt.

According to The Wrap, the story "is set in ancient Egypt against the legendary world of great pyramids and sphinxes. Coster-Waldau would play Horus, the god of the sky, who teams up with a human thief and Hathor, the goddess of love, on a magical quest to avenge the death of his father, Osiris."

Proyas hasn't made a film since Knowing. He's been in development on a few projects but they all seem to have fallen through. Most notably Paradise Lost, which he was supposed to do with Bradley Cooper. Gods of Egypt sounds like it could be an incredible movie, and Coster-Waldau should be great in it. It will be good to see Proyas develop an epic sounding movie like that. Hopefully he can pull it off!

On top of Game of Thrones, the actor recently starred in the sci-fi film Oblivion and the horror film Mama. He also recently wrapped an indie drama called A Thousand Times Good Night, and he's currently filming the male lead in Nick Cassavetes' upcoming comedy The Other Woman, with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.

Trailer for Will Ferrell's '80s Event Series THE SPOILS OF BABYLON

Here's the first teaser trailer for Will Ferrell and Adam Mckay's new IFC series The Spoils of Babylon. This is a comedy event series that was inspired by the several TV mini-series adaptations of historical novels and family sagas that were made during the '70s and early '80s. It's basically a parody of this era of mini-series TV events, and they even capture that retro '80s vibe. I remember watching a lot of these series with my parents when I was younger, so I think this concept could really be great.

The series stars Ferrell, Kristin Wiig, Tobey Maguire, Jessica Alba, Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Tim Robbins and Haley Joel Osment. Here's the synopsis:

‘The Spoils of Babylon,’ a century-spanning saga, chronicles the sexy and dramatic lives of the Morehouse family, led by Jonas Morehouse (Robbins), his daughter Cynthia (Wiig) and her adopted brother Devon (Maguire) who made their fortune in the oil business. The series takes viewers from the oil fields of Texas to boardrooms in New York City, through war torn battlefields and velvet-sheeted bedrooms.

Cynthia and Devon’s unbridled and taboo passion for one another cannot be prevented. Add in Cynthia’s evil son Winston (Osment), her put upon husband Chet Halner (Sheen), and Devon’s new love interest Dixie Mellonworth (Alba), and the booze, the pills, more passion, more pills and the heartache, and you have a mercurial potboiler. Then add in illegal arms deals, international espionage, the Shah of Iran (Ferrell), and two US Army Generals (Kilmer, Steve Tom) and it begins to overflow with boiling liquid in a pot on a hot stove that is operational.

The series is set to premiere next year, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Trailer for Russian Set Horror Film THE DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT

The Dyatlov Pass Incident is based on a true story about a mysterious event that resulted in the deaths of nine ski hikers in the northern Ural mountains on the night of February 2, 1959. The story makes for an intriguing film. Here's a little background on the event from Wiki:

The lack of eyewitnesses has inspired much speculation. Soviet investigators simply determined that "a compelling natural force" had caused the deaths. Access to the area was barred for skiers and other adventurers for three years after the incident. The chronology of the incident remains unclear because of the lack of survivors.

Investigators at the time determined that the hikers tore open their tent from within, departing barefoot into heavy snow and a temperature of −30 °C (−22 °F). Although the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue.

It was directed by Renny Harlin who directed films such as Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. He's currently directing Hercules 3D. The movie was filmed in the documentary style, and I think it looks great! Hope you enjoy the trailer!

Magneto Rises in New X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Set Photo

Bryan Singer tweeted a new photo from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which came with the following caption: "The dark knight rises." Of course, it's really Michael Fassbender's Magneto rising. I've also included a couple of other set photos featuring President Nixon and a protest.

The epic ensemble mutant cast also includes Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Evan Peters and Boo Boo Stewart.

The movie comes out on July 18th, 2014, and the film is based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

SAINTS ROW IV - New E3 Trailer is Full of Craziness and Naked Skydivers

This August, we are going to have one hell of a game coming from Deep Silver. That's right, I'm talking about Saints Row IV and the craziness that they never fail to bring. Just in time for E3, they have released one hell of a trailer that gives us a better look at what the story will entail within the game.

When I first heard about this game and how the Saints were now running the government, my first reaction was "WTF?!" Sure, I know these games are hardly even close to being realistic, but I was just shocked they would take the game that route. But then I stepped back and realized that the fact that it's getting crazier with each installment is actually a good thing. Who really needs a serious minded game 24/7, we need this chaotic & absurdly funny game in our lives.

The trailer shows how this alien force has kidnapped our people including the government, and locked them in a Matrix-like world. It's up to the Saints to escape this world and save all of humanity.

How do you feel about the direction that the Saints Row franchise has taken over the years?

"You can save them. You can save all of them."

Warner Bros. has teamed up with Nokia to bring us another incredible full trailer for Man Of Steel that highlights the action in the film. It's loaded with plenty of new footage that you can drool over. The more I hear about this movie the more excited I get. I know a lot of people who have already seen it. They all have nothing, but amazing things to say about it! I can't wait to see it for myself! The movie hits theaters on June 14th! Eight more days to go!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Joss Whedon Intends to Make AVENGERS 2 with Robert Downey Jr.

Marvel fans are still waiting to see if Robert Downey Jr. will be back as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in The Avengers 2. If Joss Whedon has anything to say about it, he will reprise his role in the movie. During a recent interview with The Daily Beast the director is asked about the status of Downey Jr., and this was his response:

He is Iron Man. He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making Avengers 2 without him, nor do I think I’ll be called upon to do that. I don’t think it’s in my interest, Marvel’s interest, or his interest, and I think everything will be fine. But I know that this is Hollywood and you roll with things. You have to be ready for the unexpected.

I think Downey will end up making a deal with the studio, and I'm sure it will earn him a lot of freakin' money. It might be the last time we see him as Stark, but I can see him coming back for some more Avengers action. I'll be shocked if Marvel lets him slip through their fingers. Let's face it, Downey had a big hand in building Marvel's movie empire. If he goes, you know the fans are going to be pissed.

ARCHIE Comics Getting Feature Film Adaptation with Zombies

Art by Francesco Francavilla

Warner Bros. is set to make a big screen adaptation of the classic Archie Comics, but there's going to be a little twist... it's going to include zombies. That's right! Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead are going to be thrown into a zombie adventure. I guess that is one way to get audiences in seats. Zombies are huge right now. Throwing zombies into almost any kind of film could enhance its performance if done right.

The movie will be directed by Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore from a script written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee, Carrie, Spider-ManTurn off the Dark).

The movie will be based on the comic Afterlife With Archie which was written by the screenwriter of the movie. It "ponders a zombie apocalypse in suburban New York and isn’t replacing the usual Archie Comics, just supplementing them." The story will also provide audiences and fans with "zombie-filled mayhem like only Archie can, taking the Riverdale gang where they’ve never been before – to the grave and back." This is what Aguirre-Sacasa had to say in a statement about the story:

AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE combines two of my great passions: Archie comics and horror comics. This series came out of conversations with Jon [Goldwater], asking questions like, ‘what if the Archie characters found themselves in a Stephen King novel like The Stand or a Sam Raimi movie like The Evil Dead?’ Could we pull that off, tonally? We’re really going for it. The first arc is called ‘Escape from Riverdale.’ The second arc is called, brace yourself, ‘Betty RIP.’ Of course, all the horror stuff will be balanced by elements that are quintessentially Archie.

There's a talented team bringing this story to life, and this film project could actually turn out awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

MAN OF STEEL: INSIDE THE LEGENDARY WORLD OF SUPERMAN Production Book Preview

I love production art books. I don't like how much they cost, but I end up buying them anyway. AICN got sent a sneak peek at the production book Man of Steel: Inside the Legendary World of Superman. It will be available June 18th, and I'm definitely going to buy it when it comes out.

Man of Steel has a rich and intricate look to it that I think surpasses all other Superman films. Yesterday, I was looking at photos from Superman Returns, and I was surprised by how flat and fake looking Superman's suit looked. Even the "underwear" looked hokey. I've seen Man of Steel and can't wait until the embargo ends to be able to talk about it.

Trailer for Ethan Hawke's Action Thriller GETAWAY

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Ethan Hawke's new action thriller, Getaway. I've always been a big fan of Hawke's work, it's cool to see him working more, and this new film of his looks pretty cool. Hawke plays a character named Brent, a former race car driver with a Shelby Cobra. His wife is kidnapped, and to get her back he has to do everything that the kidnapper tells him to. It also stars Selena Gomez, Jon Voight, Rebecca Budig, and Bruce Payne.

Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.

The movie is set to be released on August 30th. What is one of your favorite Ethan Hawke films?

New Footage Revealed for LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES

E3 is next week, and we're going to start seeing a little more video game news, which is always fun because there's lots of cool new stuff to see. Today we've got a video interview from Eurogamer with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes' Senior Producer Phil Ring. He talks about the game and shows off some more cool gameplay footage that reveals a few new characters. The game is being developed by TT Games, and I'm sure we'll learn more information and see more footage from the game next week.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes offers an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.

In LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, players will unlock more than 100 characters from across the Marvel Universe, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus! The game will pack in a plethora of super-cool character abilities, combat-like action sequences, epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving and a unique story told with playful LEGO humor.
The game will be released later this year on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, Nintendo DS, 3DS, and PlayStation Vita.

The French Crime Thriller A PROPHET Will Be Remade

A remake of the 2010 French crime thriller A Prophet was sure to be done. It was just too good for Hollywood to ignore. Sony Pictures has teamed up with Fast and Furious 6 producer Neil Moritz to remake the film. If you haven't seen the original film yet, I strongly suggest you check it out.

The movie doesn't really need a remake, but maybe it will get people to watch the original film directed by Jacques Audiard. The story follows a young man’s rise to the top of a crime syndicate after being mentored by the boss.

Moritz talked about the film, describing it as "an epic crime saga with compelling characters and original storytelling." He went on to say, "I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to make an English-language version of the film and am grateful to have the trust of Jacques Audiard and his producers, as well as the writers Thomas Bidegain, Nicolas Peufaillit, and Abdel Raouf Dafri."

Hopefully they put together a good team of filmmakers for the movie that will do the story justice.

Apparently, Ewok pelts are not an acceptable form of payment at LEGOLAND. Odds are LEGO won't let me buy their upcoming LEGO: Star Wars - Ewok Village Playset that way either. The minifigs include Endor Princess Leia, Endor C-3PO, Endor Luke, Endor Han Solo and a handful of (Endor) Ewoks.

I only need to win the lottery to be able to buy this, which should be any day now. The set will be available September 2013.

Mia Wasikowska to Join Guillermo del Toro's CRIMSON PEAK

Due to scheduling conflicts, Emma Stone had to drop out of Guillermo del Toro's haunted house horror thriller Crimson Peak. Luckily, it looks like he got another fantastic actress to replace her. Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska is in talks with Legendary Pictures to join the film.

Wasikowska is a very talented young actress. She was amazing in Park Chan-wook's Stoker, and I think she'd be great in this film. She might even be a better choice than Stone. Wasikowska will play a young author named Edith Cushing who "discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be."

Hopefully she ends up jumping on board the project. If she does, she'll join the previously cast Charlie HunnamBenedict Cumberbatch, and Jessica Chastain. I've been waiting for Del Toro to make another ghost story, and I'm excited to see what he's got planned for this.

The director previously described the movie as being a "very set-oriented, classical, but at the same time modern take on the ghost story." He also explained,

It’s the turn of the century. So it’s at the turn of the century and half of the movie takes place in America, and the other half takes place in a crumbling mansion in Cumbria. And basically it’s a ghost story and gothic romance, trying to subvert the rules of the usual gothic romance. It’s very much... the first half is a love story, then that love story turns darker. And it’s at the same time a ghost story. I’m working at this moment with Lucinda Clarkson who is a really great playwright from the UK. She has the proper degree of perversity and intelligence to turn it into something interesting to watch. It’s sort of a very compelling version of the classic gothic romance, where you have the spookiness and the windswept landscape that dooms the characters, you know?

The film starts production in February of 2014.

"Find the thing that scares you the most... and be a man."

Here's a fantastic comedy short that follows a guy who is looking to turn his soft, girly looking hands into rugged man hands. During his journey of hand manliness, he discovers what it really takes to be a man. The movie was written and directed by Casey Donahue, and I thought it was unique and entertaining. I also really like the music. I think you'll enjoy it!

I wonder if this short was inspired by Seinfeld's Man Hands episode.
