Intense Trailer for the Mads Mikkelsen Film THE HUNT

0
0

Here's a trailer for an intense looking drama called The Hunt, which stars Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal TV series). I've read a few reviews for the movie, and it has received a lot of positive reviews, most saying that it's a frightening must see film. Here's the synopsis Thomas Vinterberg-directed film...

"The Hunt" is a disturbing depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man's life.

Mads Mikkelsen plays Lucas, a former school teacher who has been forced to start over having overcome a tough divorce and the loss of his job. Just as things are starting to go his way, his life is shattered. An untruthful remark throws the small community into a collective state of hysteria. The lie is spreading and Lucas is forced to fight a lonely fight for his life and dignity.

The movie will get a limited release on July 12th.

Cameron Diaz to Star in SEX TAPE

0
0

Cameron Diaz is looking to reteam with her Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan and co-star Jason Segel for a new comedy called Sex Tape. Segel has been attached to the project for over a year. Since that time Reese Witherspoon, Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Rose Byrne, and Jennifer Garner were up for the part that has now gone to Diaz.

The script for the film was written by Kate Angelo, and the story is about a married couple who takes a night off from their kids, decide to get adventurous and spice things up by making a private sex tape. When they wake up, the tape is gone and they go on a desperate search to find it.

I'm not a fan of Diaz at all. Most of the movies she's made are mediocre and often annoying. She did however just finish shooting Ridley Scott’s The Counselor with Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt. She's also set to star in the Coen Bros.-scripted film Gambit, as well as Nick Cassevetes’ The Other Woman.

Do you think Diaz is a talented actress?

5 Actors We'd Like To See In The New Star Wars Saga

0
0

The appearances by Samuel L. Jackson and Liam Neeson in the prequels got me wondering what other high profile actors would flourish in a Galaxy far, far away. This list features some of my best pitches for the actors best suited to roles.

5. Robert Downey Jr.

Role: Jedi

Lightsaber Color: Iron Man Yellow

Potential Quote: "They say the best weapon is the one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I say the best weapon is the one you only have to light up once. That's the way my master did it, that's how the Jedi council does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far."

The only thing keeping me from saying give him the red lightsaber was Patton Oswalt's explanation as to why Luke should have it. Matter of fact, most of this inspiration spurred fromwhen he mentioned Tony Stark entering the Star Wars universe. We all love him as Iron Man, so making him a no frills bad ass Jedi would be no stretch of the imagination, and awesome for all fans around.

4. Simon Pegg

Role: Imperial Officer

Potential: Hopefully somewhat more useful than past officers.

Potential Quote: *Sees Approaching Missile To Star Destroyer* "F*** A DOODLE DOO!"

Okay I wouldn't really want Pegg to say that in a Star Wars film, but it would be pretty funny if he did. Pegg would be great for an appearance in the new saga in general, but as a villain I think he would be incredible. It would be a role we have yet to see for the actor and one that I wouldn't see as unrewarding to a filmgoing audience. You could even make him the traitor or double agent type and make for a pretty solid twist. Plus he just looks like an imperial officer right?!

3. Zach Galifianakis

Role: Comic relief in the form of some alien or Droid.

Race: Anything but Gungan

Potential Quote:

ZG:"You shouldn't have docked here..."

Jedi: "Why is that?"

ZG: "I'm not supposed to be within 2 parsecs of a Toshi station...or a Cantina bar."

Humor has always been an element in the Star Wars series, but the key is not to overdo it. C-3PO was a solid go-to for the original movies, and Jar-Jar Binks was over-doing it to the max. The idea of Jar Jar wasn't all that bad...just executed horribly and not the desired effect that everyone wanted. You remedy this by actually putting a funny person in for the role of comic relief. This allows for improvisation and hilarious moments that writers who are too bogged down by the weight of writing the world's next greatest sci-fi trilogy cannot be bothered with. Some fans might say leave the humor out completely, but I think it's necessary. Make the whole thing incredibly serious and you risk making it corny and laughable.

2. Garrett Hedlund

Role: Bounty Hunter

Demeanor: Cocky And Arrogant...but later develops and redeems himself (that's his wheelhouse)

Potential Quote: "You're acting like I'm just going to find him sitting on a stump in Dagobah, just 'Hey man! Lost track of time!"

You were expecting Joseph Gordon Levitt? Not today. Hedlund fits the Star Wars role for me more than the latter any day of the week. His type fits the Han Solo role pretty well, and if there was one guy I'd see stepping in for Harrison Ford, it'd be him. Hedlund would also make a solid love interest for who I'm crossing my fingers for as the ultimate choice for a central character in the series...

1. Jennifer Lawrence

Role: The Chosen Jedi

Lightsaber Color: Silver

Potential Quote: *Room full off bad guys* "There's 24 of us...(lightsaber on) and only I'm coming out."

Oscar winner. Young heartthrob. Looks like a combination of Ford and Fischer. There's not much else you can say other than a strong female lead would be a revolutionary move for the Star Wars universe and she would be a damn good person to do it with. The age difference between her and Hamill would fit the mentor role quite well, and the whole movie could basically write itself. This, if ever there was a wish, is my dream actress to be in the movie. She would be fantastic, and fans would love it. End of story.

First International Trailer for Keanu Reeves' MAN OF TAI CHI

The first trailer for Keanu Reeve's directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi, is now online. It looks like an interesting film, and there's supposedly more than 40 minutes of straight up martial arts fighting throughout the film!

With fight choreography by living legend Yuen Woo-Ping, the film is set in modern Beijing and follows the spiritual journey of a young martial artist played by Chen, whose skills present him with both exciting opportunities and painful choices.

It was shot entirely in China, and there is currently no US release date set for the film, though it will be released in China sometime this summer.

What do you think of this fight driven film?!

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Title Confirmed

0
0

Well, I totally saw this coming. The upcoming movie based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been somewhat of a hot topic among fans. Most fans seem to be complaining about it, and they are laying the blame on Michael Bay who is serving as producer.

At one point, it was announced that the movie would simply be called Ninja Turtles, and the script made them of alien origin rather than their classic ooze mutation. Have no fear. At the recent CinemaCon a logo was spotted for the upcoming film flaunting the original title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This title change is a smart move for the studio as the fans of the franchise will appreciate it more.

It was also previously rumored that the film's script has had massive rewrites since it leaked onto the internet a while back. It they've put the word "mutant" back in the title does that mean that they have been changed back from aliens to mutants? All I can say is "Cowabunga!"

Do you have any faith or interest in this project?

Shane Black Unsure About Directing IRON MAN 4

0

I was very disappointed with Iron Man 2, but I'm hoping three turns out to be great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. A change of director seemed to be a good move for Marvel, and I want Shane Black to bring something new to the table. When asked if he would return for the inevitable fourth film in a recent interview, he seemed unsure if he would return.

Well, Marvel would have to ask me because they're famous for not working with the same people twice, and who's to say they would ever approach me so that's something we'll cross when we come to it.

I think he is selling himself short. Iron Man 3 looks promising, but then again so did part two. Iron Man 3 hits the US May 3rd.

From what you've seen of the movie, do you think Marvel should get Black back to direct part four?

Character Bios and Art for AVENGERS ASSEMBLE and HULK AND THE AGENTS Of S.M.A.S.H

Here's a collection of character art and bios for the new Marvel animated series Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.. I can't say that I'm looking forward to either of these series. I'm not a big fan of the changes, and the character designs and art style seem pretty weak. The kids will enjoy it though. I've also included the synopses for each of the shows.

Look over everything and let us know if it's enough to get you excited to see these new Marvel animated series!

Avengers Assemble: "With an all-star roster consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Falcon and, occasionally--when she feels like it and only when she feels like it--Black Widow, the Avengers are a team in the truest sense. The Avengers save the world from the biggest threats imaginable--threats no single super hero could withstand."

Hulk And The Agents Of S.M.A.S.H.: "Hulk smash! The biggest, hardest-hitting hero in the Marvel Universe stomps into his own series as the star of Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.! Joined by his larger-than-life teammates who double as an unlikely family, Hulk tackles threats that are too enormous for any other heroes to handle. In his battle against evil, Hulk is joined by the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. -- sensational She-Hulk, the irascible Red Hulk, the exuberant A-Bomb and the savage Skaar. What does S.M.A.S.H. stand for? They’re Hulks -- whatever they want!"

Last week we got our first solid look at Jamie Foxx as Electro from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There have been a lot of mixed feelings among fans regarding the new look. A couple of new official photos have surfaced from the film over the week though for you to check out! One features Foxx as Max Dillon before he becomes the villain Electro. It came with the caption, "Day 52. My name is Max." The other one is our first look at Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn.

The film also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field. Here's the official synopsis...

Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

GAME OF THRONES Season 3 Promo Trailer - "Kissed By Fire"

0
0

Another great episode of HBO's Game of Thrones aired tonight, and regardless of how far the story is straying from the books I'm ok with it as it keeps things fresh and interesting. The cable network has released a new promo trailer for the fifth episode of the season, which is called "Kissed By Fire."

Have you been enjoying the third season of the show, or are you disappointed by all the changes to the story?

Here's an episode 4 recap:

Game of Thrones Season 3 will be based on A Storm of Swords, the third novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series from author George R.R. Martin. Due to the sheer length of the third novel, which is roughly 1.5 times the size of the first novel, the events of A Stomr of Swords will be split over two seasons. The cruel reign of the boy-king Joffrey Baratheon continues thanks to an alliance with House Tyrell. King of the North Robb Stark must decide whether to remain in the field against the Lannisters or return to Winterfell and address the actions of a traitor. Bran Stark journeys across a frozen wasteland to reach The Wall and what lies beyond. Daenerys Targaryen searches for an army to take back her homeland. Jon Snow must navigated dangerous waters filled with White Walkers and the bloodthirsty wildlings of the King-Beyond-the-Wall Mance Rayder.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD - New Official Photos and Plot Details

0
0

Thanks to USA Today, we have two new official photos from Marvel's Thor: The Dark World featuring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder and I believe this is our first look at Natalie Portman as Jane Foster in some Asgardian clothing. In the article containing the photos Hemsworth said,

Thor still has lot of explaining to do, and a lot of making up. Even demigods end up in the doghouse, mate. So none of us is safe.

While talking about Portman's character Marvel president Kevin Feige had this to say, "So while Thor was a fish out of water on Earth in the first two films (Thor and The Avengers), this time Jane is very much a fish out of water in Asgard." Hemsworth added, "She pulls the look off, as you'd expect from Natalie Portman." When talking about the relationship plot Feige said,

It's superhero action, but it's the familiar territory of a love triangle where the parents think your girlfriend is wrong for you. That's how the best of these movies work.

Hemsworth goes on to talk about Loki in the film explaining, "Needing Loki's help turns everything on its head, and it allows us to explore the underlying complexities of their relationship. It really ends up being a kind of chess match." In case you think Loki is going to go soft, Feige reassures that that's not the case, "Tom has built and shaped one of the best movie villains in years with many, many layers. It will be very difficult for Loki to lose the villain status. He has that firmly in hand."

I'm excited that we're going to start seeing more and more stuff from this movie soon! It's set to hit theaters on November 11th, 2013!

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World," in theaters November 8, 2013, continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Paramount Pictures has released the first film clip from J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, which is basically taken from the first nine minutes of the movie that was screened in theaters last year. The intense clip features the crew of the Enterprise as they attempt to rescue Spock from inside an active volcano.

The movie comes out on May 17th, and I can't wait! With Iron Man 3 opening up in May as well, we are getting a great start to an amazing summer of movies! Enjoy the clip!

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Amazing Anime Fantasy Action Short - LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIA

This original anime short film, Little Witch Academia, might just be the best 26-minutes of your day. It's a beautifully animated, action-packed film that you're sure to love. It's a must watch, so please, please take the time to check it out when you get a chance!

The story follows young Akko who "enrolls in magic school to be just like her idol, Shiny Chariot. But can she prove herself to the other witches in her class—and learn to believe in her own magic?" It's kind of like Harry Potter set in the world of anime, and it's packed full of wonderful characters.

The film was developed by an indie anime studio called Trigger, and was directed by Yoh Yoshinari from a script written by Masahiko Otsuka. After watching this, I can't wait to see this team start making feature films! As for this short, it needs to be turned into a series!

This is going to put a smile on your face.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST - First Look at Halle Berry as Storm

X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has tweeted out another photo from the set of the film giving us our first look at Halle Berry as Storm. As you can see, she's sporting a pretty cool looking new costume! I'm not the biggest fan of Berry in this role, but she's rockin' the look.

The ensemble cast also includes Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, and Boo Boo Stewart.

The film will be based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

The film hits theaters on July 18th, 2014.
