MAN OF STEEL - Cool Concept and Promo Art

Here's a collection of cool concept and promo art that was created for the movie that is available over at GBPosters. These are official images that will be used to help market the film. I like the stylish designs, some of which seems pretty dark, especially for a film that paints Superman as a beacon of hope. Certain images show him with burning red eyes and surrounded by skulls. Check them out!

Showtime has released the first sneak peek clip from Dexter season 8. Along with the 2-minutes of footage, they also confirm that this will indeed be the final season of Dexter. I've enjoyed watching Dexter over the years, it has been one of my favorite shows. It's sad to see that it's coming to an end, but it was expected, and we all know it had to happen sometime. Hopefully they will be able to end it on a note that the fans will be happy with! It's pretty exciting to know that the fate of Dexter will soon be known.

SPOILERS ahead:

The clip that was released features an exchange between Deb and Dexter in which we learn that Deb had been avoiding her foster brother. She hasn't talked to him in weeks and even skipped out on LaGuerta's memorial. She seems to be shutting everyone out, and she claims she's working a case.

The series is set to return on June 30th! Here's the clip...

True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld is set to star in a new action comedy called Barely Lethal. The film is being directed by Kyle Newman from a script written by John D'Arco.

Steinfeld will play a 16-year-old international assassin named Megan who is raised at a boarding school that trains kids to be assassins. She has a quirky sense of humor but is clueless about normal life. She ends up faking her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school, where she discovers dealing with popularity is just as hard as living life as an assassin.

Steinfeld is a fantastic young actress who will be next seen in the following films, Can a Song Save Your Life?Romeo and Juliet, Ender's Game, The Homesman and Three Days to Kill.

Character Posters for the Martial Arts Steampunk Film TAI CHI HERO

Here's a few character posters for the awesome looking steampunk style martial arts film Tai Chi Hero, which is the sequel to Tai Chi Zero. The films were shot back-to-back, and they look like a ton of fun. I still have yet to see the first one, but I'm excited about finally being able to watch both of them when the opportunity presents itself. Check out the synopsis!

Lu Chan (Jayden Yuan) is still trying to find his place in Chen Village, the legendary town where everyone is a martial arts master…and Chen-style Tai Chi is forbidden to outsiders. But since he helped save the town from a frightening steam-powered machine, Yuniang (Angelababy), beautiful daughter of Grandmaster Chen (Tony Leung Ka-Fai), agrees to marry Lu Chan and bring him into the family. It’s only a formality, though – she is the teacher, and he is the student – and that suits Lu Chan just fine, as the mutant horn on his head gives him incredible kung-fu power, but leaves him dumber each time, and closer to death.

Chen Village still stands in the shadow of danger. A prodigal brother returns, Lu Chan’s presence invokes a curse on the town, and Yuniang’s scorned fiancée has an appetite for revenge, as well as some new partners in crime.

The second in a trilogy from the creators of IP MAN and DETECTIVE DEE, and featuring action directed by the legendary Sammo Hung, TAI CHI HERO is a full-on, steampunk-infused, video game-influenced kung fu throwdown that will knock you out of your seat.

Tai Chi Hero opens on April 26th. I've also included the trailer for the movie as well.

Thanks to io9 we've got some incredibly cool photos from the inside of J.J. Abrams' redesigned U.S.S. Enterprise in his Star Trek movies. These are some never-before-seen photos from the Bad Robot vault that give us an up close and very detailed look at the bridge. The redesign of the ship was done by Scott Chambliss, and I love it!

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 - Video of Jamie Foxx as Electro on New York Set

We've seen a good amount of photos from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring Jamie Foxx sporting his new blue look as the villain Electro. There's now footage of him stumbling around on the set like a zombie. The video may be annoying, but they make a couple of interesting points like how no one is really freaking about about this crazy looking guy walking around the busy streets of New York's Time Square.

There are a lot of mixed feeling about the way he looks in the pictures that have been released, but we still don't know how the character's look will evolve throughout the course of the movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma StoneMartin SheenShailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The movie will be released on May 2nd, 2014.

Peter Parker (Garfield) finds, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Joss Whedon Discusses His Crappy ALIEN: RESURRECTION Film

I remember getting my hands on Joss Whedon's script for Alien: Resurrection back in the mid 90's and I thought it was great! I was so excited for the movie that was going to come out, then I saw it, and it sucked ass. They ended up changing a lot of stuff, but Whedon's script was still good. He ended up getting a story credit on the film to which he says, "There is always going to be a shitty Alien movie out there. A shitty Alien movie with my name on it."

In a recent interview with Total Film Magazine the Avengers director talked about Prometheus and reflects on his own contribution the franchise saying,

Yes, I did see Pro-meaningless," he joked. "In all seriousness, Alien: Resurrection was, I thought, the lowest I could ever feel. And then they cancelled Firefly. 'Yup, there you go. That's me feeling even lower.' Let me quote King Lear - 'The worst is not, so long as we can say, ''This is the worst.''

He went on to discuss some of the characters he came up with for the story, and how the casting of the characters threw everything off...

Casting is storytelling, I wrote two characters for Alien: Resurrection and their arc was that you would not know what way they were going to go. One of them turned out to be insane - and what do they do? They call Brad Dourif. So there is no plot twist. Brad is a very good actor but he has been pigeonholed into these roles. Then they cast J.E. Freeman as a thug - and his character was also supposed to be a mystery. So there you go again - the mystery is gone. Those are just a couple of examples because there are thousands of them when it comes to Alien: Resurrection.

Even though the director has seen a lot of success since that movie he explains that he'll never forget his terrible experience with the Alien film,

Yeah - you don't ever get over it. When you are making a movie you are making something that is going to last forever, especially now with the internet. So there is always going to be a shitty Alien movie out there. A shitty Alien movie with my name on it.

You might lose a little respect for Whedon with this next statement because he admits to being a Paul W.S. Anderson fan...

I actually like the first Alien vs. Predator. I'm a Paul W. S. Anderson fan.

I just hope he's joking!

Marvel Reveals THOR: THE DARK WORLD Poster!

Marvel has released the first poster for the highly anticipated sequel Thor: The Dark World. It features Chris Hemsworth as the Asgardian God looking intensely calm. While talking to USA Today, Marvel president Kevin Feige had this to say about the poster,

It doesn't get much badder than Chris Hemsworth as Thor. It's rare that you have a poster that is just Chris Hemsworth shooting on the set. But he just looks like Thor. We just put in some lightning, and he's got his hammer and you're there. It's just an incredibly striking image.

I guess whatever works; I liked how it turned out!

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World," in theaters November 8, 2013, continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

James Gunn Talks GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Rumors, Casting, and More

In an interview with HeyUGuys, director James Gunn talks all things Guardians of the Galaxy. He doesn't give any revealing details, but he does address rumors and casting; touching on subjects such as the Michael Rooker casting, Rocket Raccoon, Star Wars comparisons, how it differs from other Marvel movies, and whether or not Robert Downey Jr. will be in the movie or not. There's lots of good info here so check it out!

On the rumored casting of Michael Rooker:

Well, I didn’t say that. Michael Rooker is my very good friend, he was here visiting me in England and we were hanging out. He was here playing with my dog and having a good time. He’s got a new, little Mohawk that looks ridiculous on him, but yeah, he’s here and hopefully we’ll get something going. Michael’s been in two of my movies, we’ve done two movies together, two reality shows, a short film, so I don’t think it would be crazy to think he would be involved in Guardians in some way.

On Rocket Raccoon casting:

I think there’s – here’s the thing: there are a lot of people who have a lot of ideas of who is right for Rocket Racoon. Rocket Racoon has been slightly different over the years, in the comic books, and within my scripts he is a very, very specific guy, and I think people are going to have to wait for a few weeks before they see. We’ll have to wait for a few weeks to see [who will be cast]. We’ll get our dream guy, because a lot of people want to do it, so we’ll get the person who’s perfect for the role.

On the Star Wars comparisons drawn from the concept art:

I do think we’re very, very different from Star Wars. Some of the concept art that came out is under my tutelage, and some of it is before my tutelage. The concept art that came out is only stuff that was on the big Marvel collected disc set, talking about phase two and it had some stuff from Guardians. Some of the art by Charlie Wen and the guys. The Rocket that was by itself was an early version of my Rocket that I dealt with Charlie when developing. He doesn’t look so much like that anymore, but there’s a lot of similarities in that he’s more of a grounded, real little creature as opposed to a cartoonish thing.

On filming with actual racoons:

We did. I’ve done a lot of studying with real racoons, and we had real racoons come in. We’ve done photography with them, I’ve played with racoons, and fed racoons, and dealt a lot with real racoons to get some of the behaviour down, because it’s really, really important to me that Rocket Racoon, who is the heart of the movie, is not a cartoon character, it’s not Bugs Bunny in the middle of The Avengers, it’s a real, little, somewhat mangled beast that’s alone. There’s no one else in the universe quite like him, he’s been created by these guys to be a mean-ass fighting machine.

On whether Guardians of the Galaxy is different from the other Marvel films:

In some ways yes, but in some ways no. In terms of a lot of stuff we’re very much like The Avengers, where it’s a very big, huge movie. It’s different because it’s cosmic, it’s in outer space, it’s very colourful. We have a whole history of science fiction behind us that we’re dealing with, and borrowing from, and also fighting with to create something unique. But at the same time there’s a lot of stuff it has in common with The Avengers. How you define a superhero movie is very difficult. To say that Drax or Gamora aren’t super heroes, it’s difficult. Even Quill. They are superheroes in a way. I think it is a superhero movie.

On Zoe Saldana and other casting confirmations:

[smiling] Maybe. [laughs]. Everybody knows Chris Pratt is in the movie, and I saw maybe 80 to 100 guys read for Peter Quill. I was very specific that I wanted it to be somebody really extraordinary. I really had Robert Downey Jr in mind a lot. You had this guy who came in and he inhabited Tony Stark, when you first saw Tony Stark he blew your mind, you couldn’t believe what you were seeing. I knew that I needed somebody to blow my mind like that. We saw a lot of very famous guys for the role, a lot of very well-known people, and very, very good actors. We saw a lot of good performances, but it wasn’t until Chris came in and he read and I was like, ‘oh my God’, this guy has his own, very particular, amazing take on the character that blew my mind, blew me away. Then I thought, this is the first guy I could see sharing the screen with Robert Downey Jr and giving him a run for his money.

On Dave Bautista playing Drax the Destroyer:

We haven’t really come out with our cast, people have gotten hold of some things, but I will say one thing: Dave Bautista is one of the most naturally gifted actors I have ever seen in my life. The guy has access to his emotions in a way that I have seen very few people able to do, and if he did get the role of Drax – I’ll tell you, nobody else was ever offered that role, at all; anything you heard about that is bullshit, and if he did get the role, it’s 100% because of his ability to access his emotions, more so than anything else. And it just so happens that the guy was created in the cast of Drax when he was born, he looks just like Drax.

On whether or not Robert Downey Jr. is involved:

No. That just means that all our movies are connected, we’re created in a way that we’re very connected to the movies that came before us, we’re even more connected to The Avengers 2, that comes after us, and so in that respect, what we would hope is that these characters would continue, and that at some point in time they’ll all meet up with different characters throughout the galaxy.

Even if Downey Jr. isn't a part of the movie, there is still a possibility that Iron Man will be involved. After all, Downey Jr.'s contract with Marvel is up. Whatever ends up happening with this movie I'm sure it's going to end up being an incredibly entertaining movie. Not many people are familiar with this group of superheroes, but I can't help but think they're all going to love them after they see the movie.

THE WOLVERINE Fights Ninjas in New Photos!

Three new photos have been released for The Wolverine featuring Hugh Jackman's Logan taking on a group of ninjas, and it looks like he actually might be in a little trouble. FOX recently showed some footage of the film up at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. From what I've been hearing, it seems people have liked what they've seen. Director James Mangold might have actually made the Wolverine movie fans have been waiting for.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The movie slashes its way into theaters on July 26th, 2013!

GEARS OF WAR JUDGEMENT - Call To Arms Map Pack Announced

There are times like these where I feel I should be much more elated than I am, but the truth of it is that nothing we have here can replace the absence of Horde Mode. There are some cool things coming in the 2nd DLC pack out on April 23rd for Season Pass holders and on the 30th for general release. The pack, without the season pass, will cost about $10, and comes with 3 new maps (Terminal, Boneyard, and Blood Drive (YAY!), 6 armor and weapon skins, and a new mode called Master at Arms, which is free for all mode but with a twist. In it, you have to get a kill with all 20 weapons, each opening after you've gotten a kill with the previous weapon, and grenades and melee are not allowed. Sounds interesting, but it's still Free for All. Honestly, aside from a 10 to 20 minute diversion here and there, that is not going to cut it, at least not for me.

Overrun and Survival are fine, but neither are as compelling as Horde Mode or even Beast Mode from Gears of War 3, and that is what is missing from Judgement. Guess I'll start my campaign run on insane.

FOX Developing CG Animated CHARLIE BROWN Movie

Fan Portrait by Tim O'Brien

It was revealed at CinemaCon recently that FOX and Blue Sky Studios are developing a 3D animated feature film adaptation of Charlie Brown. There they showed a trailer for the film to theater owners and journalists who were in attendance.

According to AICN the CG footage showed a sun rising over a round surface that is made to look like a planet, but it actually turns out to be Charlie Brown's head.

I love Charlie Brown, but I honestly don't think FOX or Blue Sky have the talent to make the film as heartfelt and soulful as it needs to be. I'm not at all excited that they are the ones developing the film, and I honestly think they are going to end up destroying it, and making a crap film.

The Ice Age films are ok, but there's no way they can pull off the greatness that is Charlie Brown. Hopefully it doesn't end up being as bad as The Smurfs. I'll be very surprised if it turns out being a decent movie.

Game of Thrones Director to Direct Keanu Reeves in PASSENGERS

Game of Thrones director Brian Kirk is set to helm the sci-fi film Passengers, which will star Keanu Reeves. This will be the first major feature film for Kirk who has also directed episodes Boardwalk Empire.

According to Deadline, the story "follows a spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet that has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger (Reeves) is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger, marking the beginning of what becomes a unique love story."

The second passenger is a female that has yet to be cast. The script is being written by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts. This is a cool concept, and I think that Kirk has the talent to turn this into an incredible movie.

Guillermo del Toro and Michael Bay's War of Robot Words

$

The gloves are coming off, and directors Guillermo del Toro and Michael Bay are having a war of words over their robot movies. Bay basically came out and said that there have been a few "rip-off" robot movies after Transformers came out, and said that audiences should know better. He didn't specifically name anything, but we can easily point to movies like Battleship and Real Steel. Of course, everyone wondered if Bay was also talking about the upcoming epic sci-fi movie Pacific Rim.

Del Toro was asked about it in an interview with THR and replied,

We are far, far, far away from that in a very willing fashion. For good or bad, this is my movie. This is my universe and my creation, and I do not create through comparison.

He then went on to take a jab at Bay's Transformers movies saying,

The fights [in Pacific Rim] don't occur in well-lit, supercool, car commercial-looking environments. They occur in the middle of a raging sea storm or in a savage snowstorm. They happen in a universe that is incredibly saturated. And to some degree, the source of all artificial life is Frankenstein.

Then Del Toro landed a crushing blow when he said his robots could "crush every other robot in the history of mankind in a toe-to-toe showdown."

I have no idea whether Bay was referring to Pacific Rim or not, but he's right to say that the audiences should know better. As an audience member and fan, Pacific Rim looks a hell of a lot better than Bay's silly Transformers movies. I think the majority of the general audience for the film will agree.

I know most of the movie geeks out there are going to side with Del Toro on this one. If you don't agree, let us know why.

Marvel and director James Gunn are still in the process of casting more characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. A casting sheet for the film was released recently. It lists several parts they are looking to fill, and there's a lot of good, possible spoilerish details included in the descriptions of these characters.

The Core For the new Marvel super hero film we are looking for males and females who are seasoned professional SAs to be a core group of people who will be used for a variety of different roles throughout the whole of filming.

Being on an Alien planet For new Marvel Super hero film about a team of super heroes who protect the Galaxy in the future of a different dimension, we are looking for males and females who are amputees.

The Dark Monks For a new super hero feature film we are looking for males and females to pretend to be monks.

Mutant soldiers For new Super hero film about a team of super heroes who protect the Galaxy in the future of a different dimension, we are looking for males with Stunt or SPAK experience to play mutant soldiers.

Cast members already confirmed for the movie are Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu, and Zoe Saldana as Gamora. They also still need to cast Groot and Rocket Raccoon. The movie is scheduled to start shooting in June, and it's set to be released on August 1st, 2014.

Benedict Cumberbatch's John Harrison sinisterly narrates this new Star Trek Into Darkness promo, called "Disruption." I really hope Cumberbatch ends up being one of the best Star Trek villains ever! I've enjoyed everything I've seen from him in the film so far.

In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

IRON MAN 3 Character Photos and Descriptions

$

Marvel has released a set of Iron Man 3 character photos, and each one comes with a little description of who that character is. They include new images of James Badge Dale as Eric Savin and Stephanie Szostak as Ellen Brandt. There are also descriptions for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce), Dr. Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall), Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), and The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley).

Brandt is a facially scarred Extremis soldier/assassin. A physically enhanced woman with deep-seated anger and a sadistic streak, Brandt enjoys using her exceptional strength to hurt and maim her enemies.

Savin is Killian’s main henchman and the muscle behind the Extremis group. He is intimidating both in size and strength and is a stone-cold killer, willing to commit any act that Killian demands, no matter how heinous.

Happy is the trusted bodyguard and chauffeur in charge of protecting Pepper Potts. More of a friend than an employee, Happy always has Tony’s back too, even when the eccentric billionaire doesn’t think he needs him. Steadfast and loyal, Happy would do anything to keep Pepper and Tony safe.

Through his privately funded organization A.I.M., Aldrich Killian created a team to further research and develop the Extremis virus, which imparts unusual levels of strength and resiliency to human subjects.

Mandarin is the sinister head of the terrorist organization known as The Ten Rings, from which all the acts of extreme terrorism plaguing the world appear to emanate. Although he is reclusive, Mandarin wields great power and makes his presence known by striking fear in the government and the populace through his brazen plans of attack.

Beautiful Dr. Maya Hansen is a brilliant botanist whose work helped create the game-changing biological process called Extremis. Her discovery has the power to change the human body, but it could be very dangerous if misused.

Pepper has progressed from Tony Stark’s assistant to the head of Stark Industries, pausing along the way to fall in love with Tony as well. Bright, loyal and honest, Pepper understands Tony Stark more than anyone and sometimes that can be both a worrisome and a dangerous thing.

Rhodey is the Liaison between Stark Industries and the U.S. Air Force. He is one of Tony Stark’s few trusted friends and, most of the time, has the patience to deal with the impulsive genius. Rhodey has a new suit of War Machine armor in a red, silver and blue patriotic design. When suited up, Rhodey becomes Iron Patriot.

Eccentric genius, billionaire, philanthropist Tony Stark is the armored super hero known as Iron Man. Decompressing from his heroic, near-self-sacrificial action as Iron Man that saved New York City from annihilation, Tony finds himself unable to sleep and plagued by worry and trepidation. When his world is destroyed and those closest to him threatened, Tony must find a way to save them—and in the process find himself again.
