Check out this terrifically animated short film called Everything I Can See From Here. It features a couple of friends kicking around a ball. Their fun is interrupted when a deadly alien creature with a disintegration gun shows up. The short was directed by Sam Taylor and Bjorn Aschim, and I thought it ended up being thoroughly entertaining. Here's a note from the directors:

This film was made over the last two years in our evenings, weekends and days off. We had no budget but a lot of help from our very talented and generous friends.

I hope you enjoy this one!

Universal Pictures has officially announced that Fast and Furious 7 will be released on July 11th, 2014! The studio is really moving fast on this one, hopefully they don't rush it out so fast that it ends up sucking ass. Justin Lin was recently replaced by Insidious director James Wan, which I think is a great choice, and I'm excited to see what his vision for this franchise will be. Here's the official announcement....

Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of FAST & FURIOUS 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on July 11, 2014.  James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers.

While at CinemaCon Diesel said that the seventh movie will be the biggest one yet, and according to /Film the approach to the series is “a new way of making films,” and there are already future storylines planned for the franchise. So yes, we are going to see a few more Fast and Furious sequels! As long as they keep making them good and entertaining, I'll keep going to see them.

Marvel has released another really cool behind-the-scenes video for Iron Man 3 that's definitely worth watching. It goes through the technology advancement that we'll be seeing in the film, and it explains why Tony Stark has made so many suits of armor, and what makes the latest one in the movie the most unique. There's some really fun information in this video that also includes a good amount of new footage from the highly anticipated movie. It even answers the question of why and how Pepper Potts is wearing the suit in the trailer when she saves Tony, and there's an explanation for Stark's line, "I got you first." Check this out!

MAN OF STEEL - 3-Minute Trailer With Superman Throwing Punches

Here's the action packed Man of Steel trailer we've all been waiting for! The first two-thirds of the trailer gives us an even greater sense of the emotional weight that Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer have brought to this story. In the last minute, the gloves come off. It's Superman like we've always wanted. Flying. Punching. And so much more! We even see the lighter side of the movie with an exchange between the Man of Steel and Lois Lane.

We see a lot of Clark Kent and his journey, but we have yet to see him at the Daily Planet. This leads me to believe that the movie may end with him finally donning a pair of glasses. But that's just a guess.

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Antje Traue. The movie will be released in theaters on June 14th!

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Yesterday was a tough day for a lot of people, and while many of us may not be able to help the people of Boston directly, we can show them we care. This wonderful wallpaper by Yale Stewart (of JL8) aims to do a little bit of both. Flash represents the many people who decided to run toward danger yesterday, and the proceeds collected for the wallpaper will be split between the Boston Children's Hospital and The Red Cross. Head over there to pick it up and throw some help, even the little that you can, towards a great cause.

The full voice cast has been revealed for Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment's Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. On top of Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke, Dana Delany as Lois Lane, and Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman; we have Michael B. Jordan as Cyborg, C. Thomas Howell as Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash, Cary Elwes as Aquaman, Sam Daly as Superman, Danny Huston as General Lane, and of course Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern!

That's a voice cast dream team! Here's the synopsis...

When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman's Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it's a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe.

The animated film is based on the comic miniseries by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. It will be released on July 30th, 2013. Expect the film to premiere at San Diego Comic Con.

Blood Drenched New Trailer for the Vampire Film BYZANTIUM

Interview with a Vampire director Neil Jordan has made a solid looking new vampire film called Byzantium, which stars Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, and Sam Riley. The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and it ended up getting a good amount of positive reviews. The new trailer features new footage including Arterton bathing in a waterfall of blood. Here's the synopsis:

Seventeen years after Neil Jordan first dipped into the vampire genre with Interview With the Vampire, his Byzantium proves that he has lost none of his taste for the bloody and Gothic. Drenched in a rich, suitably gloomy atmosphere, Jordan brings a crystalline vision to bear on this story of two female vampires who wreak havoc on an unsuspecting English seaside community, as the film fluctuates between gory mayhem and melancholic reflection.

Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan) is a precocious girl with a bent for storytelling. A natural introvert, her idea of a good time is to put pen to paper and reflect on her inner life. Her “sister” Clara (Gemma Arterton) is the complete opposite: extroverted and sexual, she struts around in stilettos and skin-tight garb, attracting hungry male gazes wherever she goes. Both carry secrets from deep in their shared past — all 200 years of it — which bubbles to the surface as Jordan wends his way through the twists and turns of the plot. It turns out that Clara was involved in a passionate love affair during the Napoleonic Wars, while at the same time Eleanor was abandoned as a child. In the present, both seek to preserve their secret from their unsuspecting new companions. Eleanor falls for a sweet young waiter (Caleb Landry Jones), while Clara settles on a homey, unsuspecting man (Daniel Mays) who has just come into an inheritance: the Byzantium Hotel, which has seen better days. The fun begins as Eleanor and Clara shack up in the hotel, feeding off their victims while attempting to stay one step ahead of their pursuers, who are hot on the duo’s trail after Clara rather violently disposes of a particularly seedy pickup.

The movie also stars Jonny Lee Miller, Daniel Mays, Caleb Landry Jones, Kate Ashfield, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Uri Gavriel, and Thure Lindhardt. It will be released in theaters on June 28th, 2013.

Official R.I.P.D. and OLDBOY Posters

The official posters for the movies R.I.P.D. and Oldboy have been released by the studios. A couple days we posted some photos from the CinemaCon floor, but these are much better quality. Both films look and sound like they'll end up being pretty entertaining.

The Dark Horse comic R.I.P.D. is adapted by Universal Pictures with this fantasy crime film focusing on a newly deceased cop (Ryan Reynolds) who's drafted into a squad of zombie cops that battle the supernatural. Red's Robert Schwentke directs, with Jeff Bridges co-starring as his partner and Kevin Bacon playing the villain.

R.I.P.D stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, James Hong, Marisa Miller, Mary-Louise Parker, and Stephanie Szostak. It hits theaters July 19th 2013.

Oldboy follows the story of an advertising executive who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker and ultimately to an illusive man who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.

Oldboy stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set to hit theaters October 11th.

First 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE Poster has Been Unleashed

Producer Zack Snyder has revealed the first poster for 300: Rise of an Empire, which is currently being directed by by Noam Murro from a script by Snyder and Kurt Johnstad. Hopefully this sequel ends up being just as badass as the first movie!

The film is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel Xerxes, and it's set on an aquatic battlefield. The story follows the Persian king-turned-god Xerxes as he leads an army against Greek forces, who have little training, but are under the guidance of the general Themistokles. (The giant battle at the center of this movie is supposed to occur at the same time as the fighting in 300.) The director previously teased the epic size of the sequel saying,

[Rise of an Empire] happens over time in many different locations. The opportunities for the six distinct battles are even greater with different locations and tactics… The few against the many is still here. It’s hundreds vs. hundreds of thousands. It’s about taking on the mightiest power of all with wisdom and tactics.

The film stars Rodrigo Santoro returning as Xerxes, Sullivan Stapleton, who plays Themistokles, Eva GreenLena Headey, Hans Matheson, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O'Connell, and Andrew Tiernan. It's set to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX and August 2nd, 2013.

First Look at Ice Man from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Bryan Singer has tweeted out another photo from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past. This time it features Shawn Ashmore as Ice Man. He's got some motion capture markers on his face, so it's safe to assume that we'll see him go into his full ice form in the movie. Ashmore has definitely aged. I watch the first couple of X-Men movies recently, and he looked a lot younger. I guess time has the tendency of doing that to people. I'm happy to see him back in the role though!

The movie also stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, and Boo Boo Stewart.

Based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

Watch Funny or Die's Full Steve Jobs Biopic Comedy iSTEVE

As promised, Funny or Die has released their full length Steve Jobs biopic comedy iSteve. The film stars Justin Long as Steve Jobs, James Urbaniak as Bill Gates, Michaela Watkins as Melinda Gates, and Jorge Garcia as Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple). This is actually the first Steve Jobs movie to be officially released. I think it ended up being pretty decent. It's definitely a low budget quality film, but there are some fun moments in it that I think you'll enjoy. George Lucas even shows up and introduces Jobs to midi-chlorians.

The project started out as a fake trailer and ended up becoming a full on parody film that was shot over five days. It was written and directed by Ryan Perez who previously explained,

In true Internet fashion, it’s not based on very thorough research — essentially a cursory look at the Steve Jobs Wikipedia page. It’s very silly. But it looks at his whole life.

Red-Band Trailer for Eli Roth's Netflix Series HEMLOCK GROVE

Netflix has released a fantastic new red-band trailer for Eli Roth's crazy looking series Hemlock Grove! The trailer is NSFW as it includes "mild fornication, fellatio, heavy cocaine use, lesbian necrophilia, violent hemorrhaging." All the things a person wants in their red-band trailers... right? The series looks insanely jacked up, and I can't wait to watch it!

Roth directed the first episode of the horror series which is based on Brian McGreevy’s novel. The story centers on "the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell.  Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems." It seems to have a mix of Twin Peaks and Twilight Zone and some fantasy horror elements.

Netflix's Ted Sarandos previously described it as being "unlike anything else in its genre. It’s sexy, gripping, emotional and twisted," adding that, "certain viewers are going to be captivated by its intensity."

The series stars Famke JanssenBill SkarsgardLandon LiboironPenelope MitchellFreya Tingley, and Dougray Scott.  All of the 13 episodes will be available to watch on Netflix on April 19th. Check out the red-band trailer when you get a chance and let us know if this is a series you think you'll enjoy.

I'm kind of surprised by how long it took for someone to make a sweded version of the trailer for The Wolverine. I don't think these sweded trailers are going away anytime soon. This one was created by Machinima, and it actually turned out pretty funny. I enjoy seeing how inventive people can get with these things. Check it out, and let us know what your favorite moment is.

DISGAEA: Etna & The Prinnies CharaGumin Kits Back for Second Round

Disgaea is known for its weird and oddball characters, and few have left a larger impression than Etna, the spunky yet cunning demon who is always willing to push someone off a ledge, yet is courteous enough to say sorry as she does it. The Prinnies, those penguin looking things, are her army, and what they lack in intelligence they more than make up in effort. Etna is one of my favorite characters in the Disgaea series, and I absolutely love these CharaGumin kits, which had been released previously but were recently shown off again at Volk's Hobby 9 Show. They might require some touch up work to make them completely pop (thanks to Plastikitty for that bit of info), but nonetheless I love the pose and expression so much to me it's worth it. You can also grab the other Etna (which is a smaller size and has a different style to it), as well as The Prinnies by themselves. You can check out more details on Volk's official page.

Marvel Looking at Justin Theroux to Play DOCTOR STRANGE?

There's a Doctor Strange movie rumor that originated at C.H.U.D. who claim that Marvel is looking at actor/screenwriter Justin Theroux to possibly take on the part of Stephen Strange in the film. Here's what they say...

I am told that there is a strong interest over at the House of Lee in seeing Seamus O’Grady (Theroux) become the Sorcerer Supreme.  In fact, if it still holds true, it’s quite possible that Theroux himself is already at work on the script.

There's absolutely no confirmation on this news, and it will most likely be debunked, but you never know what will happen. Theroux appeared in movies and TV series such as Zoolander, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Six Feet Under, Miami Vice, Your Highness, and more. I can actually see him in the role.  If this turned out to be true, he would be an excellent choice. He's a solid actor that's got the look.  Theroux is also already well integrated into the Marvel family, having written the screenplay for Iron Man 2.

What do you think of the possibility of Theroux playing Strange?

I would love to see Tony Stark build a Deadpool style armor for himself! This thing looks awesomely badass! It's obviously photoshopped, but it doesn't make it any less cool. It just makes me wish that it existed!

STAR WARS Movies Will Be Released Every Summer Starting 2015

Disney and Lucasfilm announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in theaters sometime in the summer of 2015. They also said that every summer from there on out they will release another new Star Wars, and explain that they will alternate the episodic films with the standalone films.

They did not offer any more information on what they are planning with the franchise. Before this news, there was talk of releasing two to three Star Wars movies a year. Now it seems like we'll only be getting one a year every summer, which is just as cool. The studio must already know what the first couple stand alone movies will be, and I imagine it won't be long until they announce it. I can't wait to see what other Star Wars movies are coming!

J.J. Abrams is set to direct Star Wars: Episode VII from a script by Michael Arndt.

Patton Oswalt is set to appear in the next episode of Parks & Recreation. This is an 8-minute deleted scene from the episode in which Oswalt describes his incredible plan for Star Wars: Episode VII at a Pawnee town meeting. The whole thing is improvised, and it's absolutely brilliant. He even brings Boba Fett back and connects the Star Wars universe with the Marvel Universe. There is an infinitely long list of things fans of Nintendo have asked for, and now at least one of those can be erased...the other added then erased! In today's Nintendo Direct, it was announced that after years of overseas copyright disputes one of the most beloved RPG's of all time Earthbound is finally being re-released to the Wii U virtual console! This is huge news by itself for gaming fans in general, and was followed up by news no one expected. It would appear there is a sequel in development for the SNES classic Zelda: A Link To The Past, which will be released for 3DS! You can watch the trailer for the new game below. Will you consider getting a 3DS or Wii U following this news?

CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 Set Photos Featuring Cap and Black Widow

A series of photos has surfaced from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier featuring Chris Evans as Cap and Scarlett Johansson as Black Window. They aren't the greatest photos, but you still get a teasing look at Captain America's cool looking new outfit. I'm also really excited to see Cap and Widow fighting alongside each other and kicking ass in this one.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

The movie is set to be released on April 4th, 2014.
