Community star Joel McHale is going to join Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in their upcoming new romantic comedy for Warner Bros. 

The story follow a "recently divorced mother of two boys, Lauren Reynolds, and widowed father of three girls, Jim Friedman, [who] have a disastrous blind date that puts them off dating for the foreseeable future. However, when the two purchase a discount 'Familymoon' vacation from Lauren’s best friend and business partner, Jen, they wind up at an African resort with their kids in tow. Initially acrimonious, their relationship skews, gradually and irresistibly, towards romance."

McHale will play Barrymore’s ex-husband in the film, which is being directed by Frank Coraci from an original script by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera. Hopefully the movie turns out good. I like McHale, I think he'll make the film that much more enjoyable. 

MGM is in negotiations with Adam Shankman to direct The Machine, the action comedy starring Vin Diesel. The film was scripted by Night at the Museum scribes Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Diesel is also producing the project. 

It is a re-team for Shankman and Diesel, who previously worked together on The Pacifier.

In The Machine Diesel will star as a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world’s first true ultimate weapon, before the project was decommissioned and buried. Two decades later, The Machine is discovered by a kid who befriends him. When the government discovers he has been reactivated, The Machine steps up to protect the family harboring him. 

I enjoyed The Pacifier for what it was. I also find it very funny that Diesel who voiced The Iron Giant will be basically playing that same character.

The last episode of Game of Thrones season 3 included a nice little sword fight sequence between Jamie Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. Well, YouTuber YuesWoman has taken that seen and turned it into a fun little lightsaber battle. Check it out!

Paramount Pictures has released a banner for Star Trek Into Darkness and character poster featuring Zoe Saldana as Uhura. I imagine this will be the first of many character posters that we end up seeing for the film. 

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

The movie hits theaters on May 17th, 2013!

The big screen adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hasn't even been released yet, but the studio is betting on its success. Constantin Films has already started to develop a spin-off film, based on the spin-off book series called Infernal Devices, which was written by Mortal Instruments author Cassandra Clare. 

Mortal Instruments centers on a young girl who discovers she is part of a hidden race of angels known as Shadow hunters locked in a battle with warlocks and vampires called Downworlders.

Infernal Devices is a prequel that is set in Victorian England and follows a new teen girl plunged into a journey of adventure and self-discovery. These stories feature the ancestors of several Mortal Instruments characters, and they even include some character overlap. The book titles are Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, and Clockwork Princess. Stephanie Sanditz (Kate & Leopold) has been hired to write the screenplay.

I'm not really familiar with these books, but then again I'm not part of the target audience for them. A panel was held for City of Bones at WonderCon a couple of weeks ago, and there was a ton of fans that showed up for it. Apparently the series has a huge fanbase so these movies might end up doing well. 

Here's a good amount of decent footage from the set of Gareth Edwards' Godzilla remake. The footage comes from a news outlet in Vancouver. The footage was taken on Vancouver island, and we get to see some of the military personnel on high alert. There also a good amount of destruction shown, so it looks like Godzilla has been having some fun destroying stuff. The report talks about all the movies that have been shooting in the area, and the benefits that it brings to the community. 

One thing I'm really looking forward to seeing is the new Godzilla design that will be used in the movie. The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins. It's set to be released on May 16th, 2014.

You would think that Joss Whedon is feeling the pressure of writing and directing The Avengers 2. As awesome as The Avengers was the fans are going to want to see something better in the sequel. It seems that Whedon is confident though that we're going to like what he has to offer, saying that the outline that he turned into Marvel consists of “seven things worth the price of admission.” In a recent interview with Total Film, the director was asked about the pressure of making this epic sequel, and here's what he had to say...

The only pressure is the pressure that is there every time I do a new project. Is it going to be good? It is going to be different? Is there even a reason to make another one? Is there a reason for this to be my next thing? Can I pull it off? I am not going to try and match the box office of the first one because that would be bonkers. Yes, there is a certain level of safety [knowing there's a huge audience] - because now people know about The Avengers and they like the characters so it probably won't completely crash and burn. But you don't want to just get by and do something that is merely OK. If I am going to dedicate three years of my short life to this then I want to do something that I have never done before. So I think of The Avengers 2 as a glorious challenge - it is a sequel, yes, but how can it be different? Of course, the pressure that I don't feel, my body internalises. It happens all the time. I was comfortable making the first Avengers, but I didn't sleep during it.

Whedon went on to discuss the success of the first Avengers movie, and how it affects his attitude on the other film projects he was never able to get off the ground in the past, like Wonder Woman.

You know, part of the process of dealing with the success of The Avengers has been discovering a vein of anger that I didn't even know existed in me. You do begin to think about when they let you do it, and you get it right, and then you think back to all of the times they didn't let you do it. But I am my own worst enemy. I'm not really good at selling myself or standing up for myself and I have a pathological fear of confrontation, which is not really useful in this industry. There are plenty of times when I could have controlled my own career more than I did. All of these frustrations, and all of these setbacks, definitely surfaced again after The Avengers. So, yeah, you know what? Now I'm really pissed [laughs]. It used to just be my life and my living, and that was fine, but now I feel a bit... See? You see? But I know you can't live your life like that. You have to stay positive.

Staying positive is always the key in any situation. I bet the other studios he has worked with, like Warner Bros., are kicking themselves in the ass now for not letting him make his movies. I'm sure Whedon enjoys knowing that.

The Avengers 2 is set to be released on May 1st, 2015, and I have no doubt that it's going to be incredible!

The first film clip from Sofia Coppola's new film The Bling Ring has been released, and it features Emma Watson doing a little pole dancing. 

In the fame-obsessed world of Los Angeles, a group of teenagers take us on a thrilling and disturbing crime-spree in the Hollywood hills. Based on true events, the group, who were fixated on the glamorous life, tracked their celebrity targets online, and stole more than 3 million in luxury goods from their homes. Their victims included Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, and Rachel Bilson, and the gang became known in the media as "The Bling Ring."

In The Bling Ring, Oscar-winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola takes us inside the world of these teens, where their youthful naivete and excitement is amplified by today's culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession. The members of the Bling Ring introduce us to temptations that any teenager would find hard to resist. And what starts out as youthful fun spins out of control, revealing a sobering view of our modern culture. 

The film also stars Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock, Carlos Miranda, and Leslie Mann. The Bling Ring is set to be released on July 14th, 2013.

"That is so much better than Iron Patriot."

The latest TV Spot for Iron Man 3 includes even more new footage from the film of Iron Patriot and some of the other armors. 

The awesome looking Shane Black-directed movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Stephanie Szostak, Jon Favreau, Rebbeca Hall, and Guy Pearce. Iron Man 3 is set to open in 3D and 2D theaters on May 3rd, 2013.

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. Universal Pictures has released a new 21-minute in-depth behind the scenes featurette for Joseph Kosibski's Oblivion. The featurette shows a ton of spectacular new footage from the film and gives us some backstory on how the post-apocalyptic earth in the film came about. A few of the other featurettes we've seen are also included in this video as well. I don't know if you've seen any reviews for this film yet, but they haven't really been kind. I still think the movie looks great though, and I'm still looking forward to seeing it.

Oblivion hits theaters next weekend on April 19th!

Over the weekend the official Man of Steel website  has been filled with static, but today a message has come through. It features General Zod (Michael Shannon) requesting that we return Kal-El to his custody and he also tells Kal-El to surrender within 24 hours or the world will suffer the consequences. 

A lot of people speculated that this would be the new trailer, but there's another viral site that has launched called IWillFindHim.com that is on a 48 hour countdown. I'm sure it will be some kind of viral video just like this one. 

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and if you're a fan of the franchise, then you're going to like what you see! This is out first real look at what the movie has to offer, and it was enough to get me excited to see the movie. This looks like it's going to be intense, and it actually looks like it could be better than the first one. Watch the trailer for yourself and tell us what you think!

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The movie is set to be released in theaters and IMAX on November 22nd, 2013. Here's the trailer

During a recent press event for Pain & Gain, director Michael Bay was asked if he could use a simple word or phrase to describe Transformers 4. According to comingsoon the director grinned and said...

Chase from Hell.

We've seen a few different plot details for the fourth installment of the franchise leak out, but most of them have been shot down. We do know that the movie takes place four years after the events of Dark of the Moon, and it stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz. Here's some previously released information of the story for the film, just not sure how accurate it is. 

Transformers 4 picks up after the end of Transformers: Dark of the Moon after a battle left a city broken, but the world was saved by the Autobots.

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

The movie will be released on June 27th, 2013.

Of course you want to watch a new TV spot and clip for Iron Man 3! This latest spot is called "Life," and I believe it's the 11th official domestic spot that's been released for the movie so far. Then there's a clip that's been released by MTV called shootout, and it shows off a pretty rad scene that takes place while Tony Stark's mansion is being attacked. As May 3rd approaches I'm sure we're going to see a lot more of this stuff.

Check out this new Fast and Furious 6 poster featuring Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) looking like a badass. There's also a new MTV sneak peek that was released for the film that features some new footage. 

The Justin Lin directed film looks like it's going to be awesome. It also stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Luke Evans, and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez).

The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

The movie is set to be released on May 24th, 2013. Would you let The Rock beat the hell out of you for $1,000?

Here's a fantastically fun series of cartoon sketches created by Derek Hunter that were inspired by some of our favorite classic geek movies. Some of those movies include The Goonies, Army of Darkness, Star Wars, Robocop, Predator, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Shaun of the Dead, and more.

Here's our first good look at Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It's not at all what I was expecting him to look like. It will be interesting to see how the look works with all the added special effects. It might take a little getting used to, but he definitely has a creepy vibe. At the same time, he kind of has a Mr. Freeze look. What do you all think of the character design?

The movie also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. The movie will be released on May 2nd, 2014. 

Peter Parker (Garfield) finds, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Here's our first look at Ben Stiller in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. He plays a timid magazine photo editor for LIFE magazine, who lives life vicariously through daydreams. He embarks on a true-life adventure when a negative goes missing. He goes on a series of quests to locate the missing image, and in the process finds his true self.

The movie has a superb supporting cast that includes Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Sean Penn, Shirley MacLaine, and Patton Oswalt. Stiller not only stars in the film, but he is directing it, as well. 

20th Century Fox has released a new photo from Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters featuring Nathan Fillion as Hermes.

The movie was directed by Thor Freudentha, and has a solid cast that also includes Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Douglas Smith, Mary Birdsong, Yvette Nicole Brown, Missi Pyle, Anthony Head, Paloma Kwiatkowski, Leven Rambin, Stanley Tucci, Robert Maillet, and Zoe Aggeliki. Here's a story description:

The story takes Jackson to the mythical land known as Sea of Monsters to retrieve a golden fleece that is essential to saving an ailing magical tree that protects his home, Camp Half-Blood. He departs with his Olympian sidekicks Annabeth Chase, daughter of the goddess Athena, and Jackson's protective goat-like satyr Grover.
