INFINITE CRISIS Brings Your Favorite DC Characters to the MOBA Game World

For the past couple of months I’ve been trying to get more and more into MOBA games, but something has been holding me back. I’m not exactly sure why I couldn’t fully get myself into the games. Some may think that it’s because of the gameplay, but that’s not the case, it’s because of the storyline.

League of Legends is a great game, but I don’t really connect with the world and the characters. Same goes for the DOTA games. I’ve been playing Smite a lot because I like the various god mythologies that are presented in the game, along with the 3rd person camera angles. Now there is a new kid on the block in the MOBA scene, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s Infinite Crisis

Now if you’re like me, you are jumping for joy over the announcement of this. I mean, it’s DC characters, get excited people! Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Joker…. everybody! But there is a twist. You will also see our beloved characters from alternate universes do battle. Many characters from across the multiverse will do battle, such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman. Judging from the trailer it will be a great time to get into MOBA games.

Check out the trailer below and the peep the official press release below. Don’t forget to sign up for the beta over at the InfiniteCrisis.com website.

THE WOLVERINE - First Badass Teaser Footage!

Here's an awesome little tease for The Wolverine, before the actual trailer hits on Wednesday March 27th. There's not a lot of footage shown here in this 6 second tease, but you've got to admit that the stuff that is shown is pretty badass! I just cant take my eyes off it! The awesomeness just keeps looping over and over again! It's mesmerizing!

ENDER'S GAME - Exciting First Poster!

Like many of you I've been waiting for this Ender's Game movie for years! It's finally coming, and I truly hope that it lives up to our expectations. The first poster has been released, and it gives me enough to keep my excitement level high for the film. It features Asa Butterfield as Ender all decked out in his spacesuit with a laser pistol at his side, and gives us a peek at the zero-gravity Battle Room.

Regardless of my excitement I'm still a little hesitant about the Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) directed film. When talking to Yahoo Movies, he had this to say about the size of the battle room,

This is the high school football field, only it’s in three dimensions. It’s the size of a football field in all directions: up, down, left, right. And the idea is teams jump out from opposite ends of this amazing space and play this amazing game of 3D paintball, almost.

He goes on to talk about one of the changes of the book regarding the Battle Room. In the book it's described as being a giant hollow cube. Hood explains that he felt that "to really convey the size and dimensionality of the space, it should be spherical. 'What if we could see through? What if we could see out of the space, and we’re moving around the Earth and turning at the same time?' He said he felt that would create 'a really strange, disorienting experience,' that would better capture the notion in the book that in space there really is no up or down." That seems like a change I could live with.

The movie also stars also starring Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Moises Arias, Khylin Rhambo, Viola Davis, and Nonso Anozie. Ender’s Game hits theaters on November 1st, 2013. What do you think of the first poster design?

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distiguising himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

WORLD WAR Z - Great New Trailer and Posters

Paramount Pictures has released a really cool new trailer and poster for Brad Pitt's World War Z. The trailer features some really cool new footage, and the posters show a massive wall of zombies attacking a helicopter. That's going to be a fun scene to watch play out in the movie.

Based on Max Brooks' best-selling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, the movie revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Marc Forster directed the movie, and it also stars Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, and Matthew Fox. The movie is set to be released on June 21st, 2013.

INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US: My DLC Season Pass Wish List

Okay, so most of you know that a season pass was announced for Injustice, but let's get the details out of the way. The pass will go for $14.99 and will be available for purchase at launch. It will give you 4 future characters for the price of three, and will also come with some snazzy Flashpoint alternate costumes for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Deathstroke.

Now on to the fun stuff. From the silhouettes above, here is my wish list of who I would like to see announced.

Huntress

I know, I know. I just had to say it.

Okay, for real now.

Amanda Waller

She would come in Pre 52 and New 52 versions, and despite her smaller stature she would pack quite a punch. A mix of Deathstroke and Harley, she would also have a special move that would allow her to steal the opponent's weapon, which rather fittingly would be called "I can do it better".

Vibe

Hear me out on this. Vibe has a unique power, something not already represented. He's also the protector of the gateway to the multiverse, which could lead to some fairly creative special moves. As you can tell from his name, Vibe's powers are vibration based, and come from being at the wrong place at arguably the right time. A more defensive character would be my thinking here, with lots of parries, reflection, and disrupting attacks. For the right player he could be a goldmine.

Big Barda

We've got Bane, Grundy, & Doomsday. All powerhouses to be sure, but Barda can throw down with all of them. Cosmic Rod in tow, the fiery beauty would be hard to deal with, mostly because she can hit you from far away (energy bolts), teleport to make you miss, and if you manage to get up close knock you into next week. Having a mother box would open up some creative abilities as well (think Siri, but times a hundred thousand).

Mera

The one that would excite me most is Mera. Mera has the power to control the seas, and is a force to be reckoned with. She can shape water into any construct, and when you pair that with her quick temper, well, the results speak for themselves. I would love to see what could be done with her, and she is well deserving of a spot on the Injustice roster.

So there you have it. Any other characters you think should be on the list instead? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter! Would love to hear your thoughts.

THE WOLVERINE - 2 New Posters and 8 Cool New Photos!

As we await the first trailer for The Wolverine to debut later this week, here's a couple of new posters and a collection of photos from the film featuring Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine now serving as a protector for Mariko (Tao Okamoto), the target of the Yakuza. James Mangold explains,

At the time this movie opens, there's a kind of gangland war going on between law enforcement and the Yakuza, and there's been a lot of kidnappings and extortion. So she's someone who's under threat.

Check out the photos below, each one comes with a little quote from the director or Jackman giving an explanation of the picture and thoughts on the character in it.

The photos also give us our first real look at Viper played by Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy's Svetlana Khodchenkova, a villainess from the comic books, who is brought in to help another one of the film's villains.

As her name would imply, she's kind of snakelike. She likes to play with toxins. She's immune to toxins. She's kind of formidable. Viper views Logan like a great hunter might view hunting a lion in his quarry. There's kind of an admiration, a desire to destroy and a desire to consume and to have and to hold.

We also get a look at Yukio played by Rila Fukushima, who ends up befriending Wolverine,

I would say they have a unique relationship. She's lethal herself.

Death, or Wolverine's inability to die, is a theme that echoes throughout the film. ''He realizes everyone he loves dies, and his whole life is full of pain,'' says Jackman. ''So it's better that he just escapes. He can't die really. He just wants to get away from everything.''

A funeral at a Japanese temple is interrupted by an attack by the Yakuza which naturally brings out Wolverine's claws. ''There's an urgency and a kind of intensity and hand to hand physicality to the fighting that I hope is a little different than everything else out there,'' says Mangold.

Mangold stresses that Yukio can more than hold her own in this world of ninjas and mutants. ''She's a tremendous fighter."

Besides her butt-kicking skills, Yukio also has style. Says Mangold, ''I think she's both sexy and almost kind of sprung from the anime world. It's a real badass character.''

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

The Wolverine slashes its way into theaters on July 26th, 2013!

Check out this really cool new poster for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim! It features one of the giant Jaeger fighter robots called Coyote Tango, the Japanese Techno-Tyrant! I imagine the is just the first of several other robot posters to be unleashed.

There was a test screening held this weekend for the movie, and from the sound of it the movie is going to be pretty damn awesome!

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris ElbaRinko KikuchiCharlie Day, and Ron Perlman. The film is set to hit theaters July 12th, 2013. Here's the synopsis...

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even theJaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee —who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

"When it's time to party, we will party hard."

Here's a fun new TV spot for Pixar's Monsters University that aired during The Kids' Choice Awards recently. The spot focuses on the crazy fun party aspect of being in college, and it features Andrew W.K.'s song "Party Hard." The spot features a little bit of new footage, but it basically does a god job of getting its target audience pumped up to see the movie. Monsters University opens on June 21st, 2013!

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”).

New Photo from Edgar Wright's THE WORLD'S END

A new photo has been released for Edgar Wright's upcoming comedy The World's End. It features the five main characters in the film played by Simon PeggNick Frost, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, and Paddy Considine who reunite for a pub crawl that escalates into a struggle for humankind's future. It looks like this could be the beginning of their epic pub adventure. Pegg also previously explained, "When you've seen the film, you'll be able to relate each pub name to what happens inside." Here's the synopsis...

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

I'm a huge fan of both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and I imagine this next film is going to end up being just as entertaining. I can't wait to see it! The movie is set to be released two months earlier than originally planned on August 23rd, 2013.

Here's a really cool fan-made Calvin & Hobbes animated short created by Adam Brown. As a fan of the classic comic series by Watterson, I've been wanting to see an animated TV series or feature film for years. I doubt it will ever happen, but it would be incredibly cool if it did! I thought this animated short ended up being great, and I hope you all enjoy it!

MMA Fighter Georges St-Pierre Cast in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2!

We've got another really cool casting update for Captain America: The Winter Soldier! According to the boys over at Latino Review MMA fighter Georges St-Pierre has been cast in the film! They also reveal that he'll be playing a character named Batroc the Leaper, which he seems perfect for. Not familiar with this character? Here's a rundown...

Batroc has no superhuman abilities, but is in peak physical condition in every respect. He is an Olympic-level weightlifter and has extraordinary agility and reflexes. His leg muscles are particularly well-developed which enables him to leap great distances with the strength of an Olympic athlete. He is an expert hand-to-hand combatant and specializes in savate (French-style kickboxing). He is also a skilled military tactician, having formerly been in the French Foreign Legion.

Batroc is an experienced thief and smuggler, who also speaks French and English. Although, as a mercenary, he does not hesitate to perform any number of criminal acts for his clients, Batroc has, by his own rights, a strong sense of honor, and he will turn against any client whom he feels has unfairly deceived him into committing crimes to which he might not otherwise have agreed.

Once, Batroc came into conflict with Captain America when he believed he was dying from the breakdown of the Super Soldier serum. Batroc, moved by the Captain’s sense of “honor,” declared that he would concede defeat and grant Cap’s desire. Cap wished that just one of his former enemies would turn away from his life of crime. Genuinely moved, Batroc declared he would do this. However, Batroc soon returned to his mercenary/criminal activities.

It will be interesting to see how they end up working him into the film's story. Do you think St-Pierre will make a solid addiction to the cast?

The actor joins Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie in the role of the Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Scarlett JohanssonCobie Smulders, and it was recently reported that Robert Redford has joined the cast and that he'll play a senior S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Pierce.

The film picks up where The Avengers leaves off, with Steve Rogers trying to adapt in this new modern world that he lives in. It arrives in 2D and 3D theaters on April 4th, 2014.

"Mr. Stark, are you ready for a lesson?"

Marvel has released yet another Iron Man 3 TV spot for you to check out, and of course it's got even more new footage. Earlier today we shared another spot featuring some footage that a lot of people thought was a spoiler, but I don't think Marvel would have shared it if it was a spoiler. This latest trailer focuses on the Mandarin wanting to make Stark's life a living hell.

The movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon FavreauRebbeca Hall, and Guy Pearce. It's set to open in 3D and 2D theaters on May 3rd, 2013.

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Universal Pictures has released two new TV spots for Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion featuring lots of new footage. The movie stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Melissa Leo, and it looks like it's going to be an amazingly well made sci-fi film. The movie hits theaters on April 19th!

The film envisions a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition. There, one man's confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack's mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

NINJA TURTLES - Remaining Turtle Casting Revealed

Last week we reported that Smallville's Aquaman, Alan Ritchson, was cast in the role of Raphael in the upcoming Jonathan Liebesman-helmed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The rest of the the turtle cast has now been revealed.

According to Deadline Pete Ploszek will play Leonardo, Jeremy Howard will play Donatello, and Noel Fisher will play Michaelangelo. I'm not really familiar with any of these names but Ploszek has done guest appearances on Parks and Recreation and Shameless, and Fisher played a solid role in History Channel's Hatfields & McCoys.

As I've said before it really doesn't matter what the actors for the Turtles look like because they will be shot using motion capture technology like Avatar and Tintin. The actors are basically going to be lending their voices and facial expressions.

The movie also stars Megan Fox, and is set to be released on May 16th, 2014. They will be shooting on a budget of about $125 million, and it will incorporate the same martial arts fighting style that we saw in The Raid, which is cool. All we can hope for at this point is that they've got a solid story and script that the fans are going to enjoy.

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag giving us our first look at some gameplay footage. The latest adventure in the Assassin's Creed franchise features Captain Edward Kenway, a pirate trained by assassins, as he takes on the Golden Age of Pirates.

It is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established a lawless republic. Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag introduces a young, cocky and fearsome captain named Edward Kenway. His skill with a sword and disdain for authority earn him the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard, but thrust him into the ancient conflict between Assassins and Templars that threatens to destroy everything the pirates have built.

Like all of the Assassin's Creed games, this looks like it will be a ton of fun. It will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 29th, 2013.

WILL SMITH Gives Reason For Turning Down DJANGO UNCHAINED

Jamie Foxx did a hell of a job as Django in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. It was a great example of awesome character development. But before Foxx donned the cowboy boots Tarantino wanted none other than Will Smith to be the former slave turned gun slinging bounty hunter.

While promoting his new film After Earth, Smith told Entertainment Weekly his reason for turning down the project:

Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead….I was like, ‘No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!

He went on to say what he thought of the film,

I thought it was brilliant. Just not for me.

Does it seem like his ego got in the way or was it just difference of opinion on story progression?
