Real Life STAR WARS Speeder Bike - Comedy Short

0
0

There are a lot of things from the Star Wars universe that I wish were real, like Lightsabers, Han Solo's blaster, the Millennium Falcon, X-Wings, and of course the Speeder Bikes from Return of the Jedi. Here's a fun short film about a guy that orders one of the Speeder Bikes online and takes it for a ride. I've got to say though this thing is pretty damn slow for a speeder bike. The video was made by Zach King, check it out!

Natalie Portman's JANE GOT A GUN Gains WARRIOR Director Loses Jude Law

0
0

Yesterday Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton's upcoming western Jane Got a Gun was supposed to start production but the director of the movie, Lynne Ramsay, ended up not showing up for work and quit that very day. That's incredibly unprofessional, and I don't understand why anyone would do something like that! The entertainment industry is hard enough to break into, and I'm sure Ramsey's been burned for this little stunt. Not sure who'd want to work with this director now. Jude Law was also set to star in the film, but now he's dropped out because the director he signed on to work with dropped out, so now they have to find a replacement for him. What a disaster.

Producer Scott Steindorff acted fast, and ended up hiring Warrior director Gavin O’Connor to take it on. I think he's a much better director choice anyway. Warrior was a great movie!

The film was written by Brian Duffield, and  the story follows a woman (Portman) whose outlaw husband (Edgerton) returns home barely alive and riddled with bullet wounds. She is forced to reach out to an ex-lover (the part intended for Law) and ask if he will help defend her farm when her husband’s gang eventually tracks him down to finish the job.

I'm excited about this western, it sounds like it's going to be a good one! I'm happy it ended up landing a solid new director. The producer of the film had this to say in a statement released yesterday,

I have millions of dollars invested, we’re ready to shoot, we have a great script, crew and cast. I’m shocked and so disappointed someone would do this to 150 crew members who devoted so much time, energy, commitment and loyalty to a project, and then have the director not show up. It is insane somebody would do this to other people. I feel more for the crew and their families, but we are keeping the show going on, directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent.

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY - NCAA March Madness Reaction and Photos

Disney has released a fun new video for Pixar's Monsters University that focuses on their NCAA March Madness Reaction. It's pretty funny. I've also included some new images from a new viral site for the film... mugrumblr.tumblr.com.

The movie hits theaters on June 21st, 2013, and it stars Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray, and Peter Sohn.

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”).

TOMB RAIDER: No More Tombs For You...At Least Until the Sequel

0

It's crazy that we can get DLC for tons of titles that don't really need or warrant it, but on the titles where fans clamor for more there is little if nothing offered. It appears we can add Crystal Dynamics' fantastic Tomb Raider reboot to that list. On a recent AMA (ask me anything) thread on Reddit Karl Stewart, Brand Director for Tomb Raider, recently confirmed that there are no plans for any single player DLC for the game. Here's what he said specifically (was asked if there would be any upcoming DLC for the campaign).

We honestly believe that creating a multiplayer experience was and is the right thing to do. This is our very first attempt to create a MP experience and with that comes a lot of learning. We will continue to monitor and tweak the experience until we get it right.

At this time there are no plans for single player DLC

From the subsequent comments it seems that is not going over very well, and personally I have to agree. This game is just dying for additional tombs to explore, but all we'll get is more content for the multiplayer (which has left little to no impression on me from my time with it). It reminds me of how I felt when Arkham City was released. I was looking forward to more missions and story but all I got was one Robin focused side story and more challenge maps. At least with Arkham they delivered some, but compared to the potential such a large playground promised it was a bit of a letdown.

Now, minds can change and plans can be altered, so maybe there will be some down the road. It's just a shame that I don't have more to look forward to in Lara's world, because I quite liked being there.

HATCHET III Teaser Trailer

The Hatchet horror franchise has been a fun one to watch. They aren't the best films, but they've been pretty decent for horror/slasher films. The story continues with Adam Green's Hatchet III, and I have no idea how swamp stalker Victor Crowley will be coming back from that ending in Hatchet II. I guess we'll find out! Here's the synopsis...

The story finds Harris hunting down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Crowley's ghost terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades. Mears will play a brooding, pompous SWAT team leader who is sent in to contain the carnage strewn about the haunted swamp. Williams will play a fast-talking journalist who fancies herself an expert on the legend of supernatural stalker Crowley.

The movie stars Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder, Zach Galligan, and Caroline Williams. Check out the teaser!

It looks like the excitement level for Oblivion in starting to rise. I think it's going to be a great sci-fi movie! Christina Applegate To Go on VACATION with Ed Helms

Christina Applegate is in the process of joining Ed Helmes in the highly anticipated sequel to National Lampoon's classic Vacation films. I loved the original John Hughes and Harold Ramis Vacation movie with Chevy Chase, and I really hope this next chapter in the franchise will make a funny addition to it.

Helms will be playing Clark Griswold's grown up son Rusty who takes his own family on a road trip of hilarious misadventures. I guess he just wants to relive those wonderful childhood memories. Applegate will be playing his wife in the story "who might be losing interest in him."

The movie is set to be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who also wrote the script. They plan on shooting the film this summer and Applegate will make a great addition to the cast. I can't wait to see how this movie turns out!

More VERONICA MARS Movie Plot Details Revealed!

0
0

I'm still riding high on the fact that a Veronica Mars movie is coming! How can I not be?! I've been waiting for this to happen for years! Writer and director Rob Thomas recently revealed some more information on the plot of the film that I'm sure you'll want to know about if you're a fan.

It's already been revealed that Veronica and her former classmates will be returning to Neptune for their 10-year high school reunion. Thomas says that "fans want to see all those characters back together again, and the reunion set piece allows me to do that." Thomas isn't shy about shedding some light on what we'll see in the movie. For those of you who don't want to know any more info stop reading now...

Here's a few points of interest that he pointed out to TV Line, starting with what Veronica's been doing the last 10 years:

She transferred away from Hearst college after that freshman year and went up to Stanford and finished her undergraduate degree. And then she went to Columbia Law School. She’s certainly been back to Neptune from time to time to see her dad and Mac and Wallace, but she hasn’t worked a PI case since the last one we all saw in the final episode of Season 3. She ruined her dad’s chance for re-election and she decided that that path had caused too much chaos in her life. And so she hasn’t worked a PI case in nine years. And when we meet her, she’s sort of like where Tom Cruise was in the beginning of The Firm. She’s between having graduated and taken the bar and she’s interviewing at various law firms in New York.

Veronica isn't single:

She “is dating someone” at the start of the movie, but he declines to say whether her suitor is an existing character or someone new.  He does, however, rule out her ex Logan, whom “she hasn’t seen in nine years.

Not every character is coming back:

In an effort to make new fans feel welcome in the Mars-verse, “I want to avoid getting deep into theVeronica Mars mythology. We’re not going to get ghost visits from Lilly, as much as I joked about having Amanda Seyfried in it. We’re not going to get into Veronica’s backlog of cases. I want to make the movie accessible for people who haven’t watched Veronica Mars before. All you need to know is that Veronica was a teenage private eye and she’s given it up. And there will be a moment early in the movie that will bring her back to Neptune and make her give being a private detective one more shot.

Veronica doesn't die:

Veronica will survive the movie. I can’t promise anyone else does though. But there will be an opportunity for Veronica do to her thing again.

When asked if we would see a sequel or a 10-episode Season 4 on Netflix, Thomas said,

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t think of those things. I am hopeful it is the birth of [much more] Veronica Mars.

He goes on to reveal that the father-daughter relationship between Keith and Veronica will be a “big theme” in the movie, and that they'll be shooting for a PG-13 rating.

I'm loving everything I'm hearing here and I'm confident that Thomas is going to make a movie that will make the fans happy. What do you think of the direction he's taking for the character?

Oh yeah! Kristen Bell also announced a Twitter chat that they'll be having today at 11am Pacific Time.

New Poster for the Magician Heist Film NOW YOU SEE ME

The upcoming magician heist film Now You See Me looks freakin' awesome! I enjoy watching heist movies and I'm a big fan of magic, so mixing the two things together is just a perfect combination for a good movie. Summit Entertainment has released the first poster for the movie which stars Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Caine. Here's what it's about...

An elite FBI squad is pitted in a game of cat and mouse against "The Four Horsemen," a super-team of the world's greatest illusionists. "The Four Horsemen" pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, showering the stolen profits on their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law.

The movie will be released on June 7th, 2013, and if you haven't seen the trailer for it you can check it out below!

THE DARK KNIGHT - Everything Wrong in 4-Minutes or Less

The gang over at CinemaSins has made another humorous video, this time they take aim at The Dark Knight in which they point out everything wrong with the movie in four minutes or less. I'm not the biggest fan of these videos, but it allows fans to vent their frustration with the crazy things we see in movies. This one actually might be the best one that they've made. There's some interesting stuff that is pointed out that I never really thought of before. But let's face it... none of it matters anyway because it's Batman!

Many of you have been asking us to do another "comic book" movie. Many of you have been asking us to do a "good" or universally-loved movie. So we did The Dark Knight, which ought to satisfy both groups. Here are all the sins of The Dark Knight.

Welcome to the Punch looks like a great action thriller! The story follows a notorious criminal who's is forced to return to London, which ends up giving a detective "one last chance to take down the man he's always been after." It looks like one of those really cool British crime films and I'm really looking forward to it. It stars James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) and Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes, John Carter) kicking each other's asses. The movie is sure to entertain! Here's the synopsis...

Former criminal Jacob Sternwood is forced to return to London from his Icelandic hideaway when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives detective Max Lewinsky one last chance to catch the man he has always been after. As they face off, they start to uncover a deeper conspiracy they both need to solve in order to survive.

Welcome to the Punch hits theaters in the UK on March 15th, 2013 and will be released in the US March 27th, 2013. The film also stars Andrea Riseborough, David Morrissey, Peter Mullan, Elyes Gabel, Jason Flemyng, Daniel Kaluuya, Daniel Mays, and Johnny Harris.

FAST AND FURIOUS 6 - "Fast/Hobbs" TV Spot

What's crazy about Fast and Furious 6, is I know people that have never liked this franchise, who haven't even seen the last few films, that are really excited about seeing this new movie. Of course now they're watching the films they missed to prep themselves for this crazy cool looking movie that comes out this summer. So that's proof that even for the the sixth film the fan base of this franchise is still growing. It's insane how far this has come. I would have never thought we'd get to six movies, and it's not the last one we'll see.

Here's a new TV spot that's been released for the Justin Lin-directed film that stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Luke Evans. The movie hits theaters on May 24th, 2013.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Zombies Invade DOWNTON ABBEY in Hilarious Motion Comic

I honestly have no idea how many of our readers watch Downton Abbey, but I know you all like zombies! I'll admit, I've been watching the series and I've actually enjoyed it. It's really a great show with great characters. Anyway, I came across this hilarious motion comic that introduces zombies into the show's storyline. The story basically follows pompous rich people being eaten by cordial zombies. The Dowager Countess isn't really amused. The short is called Downton Zombey, and I hope you enjoy it!

Fantastic Opening Sequence for OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

0
0

Oz The Great and Powerful might emerge as one of my favorite movies of the year. The more I think about it the more I liked it. One of my favorite parts of the film was the opening title sequence, it did a fantastic job of leading the audience into this amazing fantasy world of Oz. It helped set the tone of the film perfectly, and was hauntingly fun. Disney has released the full animated opening sequence for you to watch right now. If you haven't seen Oz The Great and Powerful yet, I suggest you check it out as soon as you get a chance, I think it's one of the must see 3D movies of the year.

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks About Wearing Armor in IRON MAN 3

0
0

Both Marvel president Kevin Feige and actor Robert Downey Jr. have teased at one point or another that we'll be seeing Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Pott's suiting up in armor in Iron Man 3. Now Paltrow herself gives her thoughts on it, and basically confirms that it happens. Here's what she had to say about actually wearing the armor,

I didn’t mind wearing the suit at all. I thought it was light and perfectly comfortable and my children thought I was extremely cool. They were here on a day where I was in it, so they were trying it on and when my son saw me in the suit, he had the biggest eyes, so it was definitely worth it.

So there's no more speculating, it happens, and I'm sure it's going to be awesome! There's also a bit of new information revealed in the same article about Guy Pearce's character Aldrich Killian and the role he plays in the film. This is some SPOILIERISH information so I just wanted to throw that out there before you read any further.

Here's the info...

Aldrich Killian heads a brain-trust organization called AIM that is developing Extremis, which is something that taps into human DNA and is able to reprogram it and regenerate limbs and enhance strength and cure wounds. But it also could change the whole world, which is what Killian intends to do with it.

The more I hear about this movie the more excited I get for it! Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2013! We're almost there guys! We've just got to hold tight and be patient a little longer.
