Marvel has released some more new behind-the-scenes photos! This time they are for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. They give us new images of the team. We've got one of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) escorting Nebula (Karen Gillan), who is in cuffs. I believe this is our first photo of Nebula sporting her new bionic arm. There's also a new photo of Peter Quill and Gamora embracing each other, and it seems like they're on the verge of kissing. Then there's a new shot of Quill in explorer mode, and finally, there's a shot a Pratt looking very happy while talking to director James Gunn. We're still waiting on our first look at Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet!

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

The film is set to be released on May 5th, 2017.

Disney and Marvel are teaming up with Hasbro for a new cross-promotion campaign called Marvel Heroes Come In All Sizes. It was set up to help launch products that include comics, graphic novels, movies, TV shows, video games, toys, action figures, and more.

DCPI's Senior VP of Licensing, Paul Gitter, explained the campaign:

"Whether you are big like Hulk, small like Ant-Man or smart and quick-to-action like Black Widow, Marvel truly has a hero for everyone. From young kids to teenagers to a casual fan or a diehard adult collector, Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes showcases that there is no singular definition for a hero and that our diversity is what makes us so powerful."

As part of this new campaign, the animation studio Tongal was hired to create a fun stop-motion short for Marvel Entertainment and Hasbro featuring Groot being taken to his first amusement park by the Avengers. it turned out to be pretty fun!

Disney's Live-Action MULAN Movie May Be Helmed by WHALE RIDER Director Niki Caro

It looks like Disney has found the director for their live-action remake of the classic animated film Mulan. The studio is currently in talks with Whale Rider director Niki Caro to take on the challenge of bringing this story to life.

Caro is a very talented director who has also helmed films such as Charlize Theron's North Country and Kevin Costner's McFarland, USA. I've enjoyed all of the films she's made, and I think she's a solid choice to direct Mulan. She most recently helmed the upcoming Jessica Chastain film The Zookeeper's Wife

The current script for Mulan is was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who previously worked on Jurassic World and Avatar. Disney really wants to get moving on this film project, and it's on the fast track to production.

According to Variety, Disney and Caro have the same vision for the remake, so I assume everything is going to work out between them while they are in talks.

Marvel has also been looking at Caro to possibly direct Captain Marvel. I have no idea taking on Mulan will take her out of the running, but Captain Marvel isn't supposed to be released until 2019. Maybe if they like what she does with Mulan, they'll bring her on for Captain Marvel

Corridor Digital is back with another fantastically entertaining short film that you've gotta check out. It centers around an anatomically correct Spider-Man, and it's both hilarious and disturbing as Spider-Man shoots his webbing out of his ass. We've seen Spider-Man go through some awkward times in his life, but nothing like the kind of awkwardness in this video! Enjoy!

Keanu Reeves' Racing Movie RALLY CAR Just Made a Terrible Mistake

The Keanu-ssance is in full swing, but here's some news which could cause that upward trajectory to come to a crashing halt.

Before we get to the bad news, let's all get on the same page. We've known for months that Keanu Reeves is set to star in a China-set film racing movie called Rally Car. Here's the synopsis:

Rally Car centers on a hot-shot former champion NASCAR driver (Reeves) who doesn’t want to believe his glory days are behind him. When his professional and personal life begin to spiral out of control, he’s forced to take part in a high-stakes international rally race across the face of China, with a young Chinese girl as his co-driver, in order to prove he’s still the badass racer he thinks he is.

That alone might not be so terrible...the bad news is who is going to direct it. While we initially heard a report that The Karate Kid remake director Harold Zwart was going to step behind the camera, now THR reports that it'll actually be French filmmaker Olivier Megaton at the helm. Megaton is the man responsible for heaping piles of steaming garbage like Transporter 3, Taken 2, and Taken 3. He's one of the worst action directors alive — maybe ever — and has absolutely no sense of how to convey necessary geographic information in his films.

Megaton is a shaky cam acolyte who is physically incapable of making a good movie. So it's extremely troubling that he'll be guiding Reeves through this movie during such an interesting period in the actor's career. I'm hoping that Reeves will somehow be able to pull this movie out of the dumpster with sheer force of will, but when you have a director as consistently godawful as Megaton running the show, that's a fight I don't even think Neo could win.

Richard Linklater Reunites with Robert Downey Jr. for Real-Life Con Man Movie

Boyhood director Richard Linklater worked with Robert Downey Jr. more than a decade ago in 2006's rotoscoped paranoid thriller A Scanner Darkly, and now the two will join forces for a new movie that's based on a true story. THR says Linklater will direct Downey in an untitled con man movie inspired by an episode of the popular Reply All podcast called "Man of the People."

The podcast tells the true story of two doctors: Dr. John Brinkley, who scammed his way to fame and fortune using fake medicine, populism and radio, and Dr. Morris Fishbein, the editor of the journal of the America Medical Association who goes on a decade-long quest to take Brinkley down.

There's no official word yet on which part Downey would play, but one assumes he'd be attracted to the role of the charismatic con man. I'm excited to see what kind of collaboration these two have at this point in their careers; last time they worked together, Downey wasn't even close to the global mega-star status he has now, so it'll be fascinating to see how someone that famous works in one of Linklater's typically lower-key movies. Team Downey will produce alongside Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures.

DOCTOR STRANGE Is Hilariously Better With Unnecessary Censorship

If you're a Doctor Strange fan looking for a good laugh, I've got exactly what you need. It's a short video that gives scenes in the film the unnecessary censorship treatment, and it definitely raises the comedy and vulgarity bar of the film to a new level. The video comes from the YouTube channel DailyAsgardianNews, and you'll never be able to watch some of the scenes from the film the same way again.

Hear LeFou and Gaston Sing "Gaston" in Brief New BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Clip

Because the trailers and tv spots for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast have been light on the singing, fans have wondered if it’s going to be bad. Like Les Miserables level bad. No offense. Luckily, Good Morning America aired an extremely brief clip from “Gaston,” and Josh Gad and Luke Evans do alright. Gad got his start on Broadway, so it’s not like I was worried he couldn’t sing, and LeFou doesn’t exactly require a golden voice, but still. This clip is encouraging, even if Evans’ tenor is a bit higher than I was expecting. I mean, the man does eat five dozen eggs every morning, and his neck is incredibly thick… But maybe the way he uses antlers in all of his decorating should have tipped us off to the fact that he was overcompensating for something.

Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17, and you can check out more clips, trailers, and news about the film here.

Unsettling Clip From LOGAN Shows X-23 Being Operated On and Held Captive

An eerie new clip from Logan has been released featuring young Laura, a.k.a. X-23, being held captive in the lab that created her. It shows X-23 being operated on, and we see her in her cell testing out her abilities by slicing herself. It's actually a pretty unsettling video that makes you feel bad for the character. It's a brief clip, but it's effective in what it's trying to do. It looks like she went through hell in this place. It's good to know that she gets out, finds Wolverine, and gets revenge. We'll get to see X-23 and Wolverine in action when Logan hits theaters on March 3rd.

Watch: Honest Trailer for Christopher Nolan's BATMAN BEGINS

I happen to think that The Dark Knight is the best of Chris Nolan's Batman trilogy, but a stirring case could definitely be made that 2005's Batman Begins is the best of the bunch. (Such a case could never be made for The Dark Knight Rises...sorry, TDKR lovers.) Begins was the first out of the gate for modern culture's "dark and gritty reboot" trend (arguably pulling it off better than any other movie since, except for maybe Casino Royale), and it was also saddled with shaking off the baggage of the past few Day-Glo Batman movies from the Joel Schumacher era.

ScreenJunkies pays homage to the first of Nolan's Bat-films in their latest Honest Trailer, which you can check out below. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Vince Vaughn Joins Dwayne Johnson's WWE Inspired Film FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY

Vince Vaughn has hopped on board Dwayne Johnson's film based on a true-life superstar in the WWE world. Fighting With My Family is a wrestling film about the family of WWE superstar Paige, who began traveling and wrestling with her family in England at age 13. Deadline reports Vaughn will co-star alongside Johnson, Lena Headey, and Nick Frost in the dramedy. The film itself takes further inspiration from a Channel 4 documentary of the same name.

I'm pretty excited about this film! As a wrestling fan, I always thought it was crazy that Paige (whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis) was placed within the world of wrestling at such a young age. It's safe to say her upbringing, and that of other children of wrestlers like The Rock, was significantly different than ours! The film has no release date yet, but we'll keep you in the loop!

Denis Villeneuve's Sci-Fi Film ARRIVAL Gets Two New Mondo Posters

Arrival, Denis Villeneuve's stunning sci-fi film, was my favorite movie of last year. Its screenplay is nothing short of masterful, the direction is incredible, and the acting blew me away (I'm still ticked off that Amy Adams didn't get a Best Actress nomination for this year's Oscars). La La Land probably has Best Picture sewn up at this point, but I still contend that Arrival would be a better choice for that Academy Award this year; it's a sci-fi movie that depicts a positive future in which honest communication is key, and considering all of the nonsense that's happened in our real world over the past couple of months, it's clear that a future like that is becoming more necessary by the day.

Tomorrow (February 16, 2017), Mondo will be releasing two brand new posters dedicated to the movie from artist Kevin Tong. There's a regular and variant edition, and both will go on sale at mondotees.com at a random time tomorrow. You can find out when by following @MondoNews on Twitter. Good luck if you try to snag one!

Arrival is available on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD now, and is nominated for eight Academy Awards.

New BTS Photos From THOR: RAGNAROK Show Thor in Chains, New Aliens, and Teases Thor and Hulk Fight

We've got some more new behind-the-scenes photos from Thor: Ragnarok! They show off some cool new aliens; a monitor that teases a pre-rendered look at one of the gladiator fight scenes between Thor and Hulk as they are about to collide; and finally, two images of Thor in chains with some crazy-looking horns behind him. I'm not sure who those horns belong to but MCU Exchange speculates two things:

The darkness surrounding him would hint at him facing Hela in Hel, but looking closer it would remind comic fans more of Surtur’s horns from the comics. Could we finally see the fire demon make his appearance after all?

I hope so! We know that Thor: Ragnarok will take Thor's new adventure beyond the nine realms, and the photos of these aliens might give us a look at what's beyond the nine realms around Yggdrasil. The character designs and colors used look and feel more like something we'd see in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. It also would make sense if Thor went to Hel at some point. Remember, we saw a photo of Thor yesterday fighting off a zombie-like creature that was most likely from Hel.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters later this year on November 3rd!

Kerry Washington Rumored to Be Testing for Domino in DEADPOOL 2

Looks like Scandal star Kerry Washington is being tested for the role of Marvel assassin Domino for the upcoming Deadpool 2. CBM brings us the news today along with the character description from the film below:

Female, All ethnicities, Late 20s – early 30s Sexy, lithe and athletic. She has a witty personality.

Neena is a no-nonsense badass who rarely shows her feeling. Highly capable, supremely confident and armored in… well ARMOR… and bullet-proof sarcasm. But beneath her shell she’s still and vulnerable and some soft, beating remnant of her humanity remains intact. In this scene we need to see both sides. When she can’t get what she needs with insults, bluster and threats we need to see some of that vulnerability. It’s hard for her to let down her guard, and in the mercenary community she grew up in showing compassion is almost embarrassing. We should feel like she’d be more comfortable killing Silberman than saying “Please”.

If Washington ends up getting the role, I'm a big fan of the casting! Kerry was great in Django Unchained as well as pretty much everything else she does, so she should knock this one out of the park! Can one of our talented readers do a mockup of Washington in the Domino makeup? I feel like I have to see it now!

Of course "testing" means Washington is only in consideration for the role and is not a surefire thing. Is there anyone else you see beating her out for the role or who would do a better job?

Somebody Compiled All of Tom Hardy's TABOO Grunts Into a Supercut

Are you watching Tom Hardy's new FX series Taboo? I checked out the first episode and a half before ultimately giving up on it (a little too slow for my tastes), and as with almost every recent Hardy-starring project, it features a ton of grunting. The guy tends to play characters who regularly emit strange noises, and this is no exception. YouTubers flypiefilms have compiled all of Hardy's grunts from the first five episodes into a quick supercut, and it's still a little surprising seeing how often the actor does this. Someone should do one of these for Hardy's entire career...then again, that video might be like six hours long, so never mind.

Fox Executives Were Worried About the Darker Tone of LOGAN

Believe it or not, Fox Executives believed a darker take on the life of Logan would "bore" fans of the series. Fox chairman Stacey Snider tells Variety there was a lot of internal struggle within the company about how audiences would respond to a different Wolverine:

“Inside, there was real consternation about the intensity of the tone of the film...It’s more of an elegy about life and death. The paradigm for it was a Western, and my colleagues were up in arms. It’s not a wise-cracking cigar-chomping mutton-sporting Wolverine, and the debate internally became, isn’t that freakin’ boring? Isn’t it exciting to imagine Wolverine as a real guy and he’s world-weary and he doesn’t want to fight anymore until a little girl needs him?”

While it's not classic late '80s suit-wearing Wolverine, I don't hear many fans complaining we are being served the aimless and tired "Old Man Logan" as opposed to his edgy predecessor. Personally, I've seen enough of edgy Wolverine in the early X-Men films and think Logan is a good way to show the evolution of a character we've seen on screen for 17 years. That's a crazy thought that there are seniors in high school who have never lived in a world where Hugh Jackman has not played Wolverine! Logan opens March 3rd in theaters.
