David Arquette As Barbarian Chain Man In ORION

For those of you who have been wondering what David Arquette has been up to these days, he's been working out, living in a junkyard, and wearing chains for clothes. The actor tweeted this photo of himself from the set of his post-apocalyptic film, Orion, wearing nothing but chains and a loincloth. It really doesn't look very comfortable. The photo came along with a note to his trainer saying, "Thanks for helping me get in shape for my film Orion."

This photo is my first exposure to this movie, and in it, Arquette plays a hunter searching for his missing brother. It also stars Lily Cole (Snow White and the Huntsman). I never imagined Arquette would do anything like this, but seeing is believing. What do you think of Arquette's new look?

New OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Poster Features Flying Monkeys

Disney has released a brand new poster for Sam Raimi's epic-looking fantasy film Oz, The Great and Powerful, which stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, and Bruce Campbell.

The new poster features many of the fantasy elements from the story, such as our first real look at the evil flying monkey. I wish there was a better quality image of the poster, but this is what came straight from Yahoo. This is the second of a three panel poster. Click here to see the first.

What do you think about Raimi's vision of Oz so far?

Here's the synopsis:

Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.

Horrific MINECRAFT Art Print Is Something You Should Buy

When you think of Minecraft, you don't associate the game with horror, or anything remotely close to something scary. The game is cute, and anytime a skeleton or spider pops up, it's more of an annoyance than a fright. Seriously, skeleton bro, find something better to do.

Artist and Etsy user, Julia Lichty, decided that the world of Minecraft needed a new aesthetic. She applied a nightmarish lens over the game and recreated the creatures in a more detailed way. I don't think you'll ever be able to look at another spider in Minecraft ever again.

Here are some details from the Etsy page:

Printed on heavy, digital photo stock and with an eight color ink process, this 8 x 10 inch art print will not include the "ghostfire.net" watermark. It will be shipped flat, backed with acid-free illustration board, and in a protective, archival safe plastic sleeve.

The art print is going for $10, but you can buy bigger sizes for more money if you want.

Head over to ghostfire's Etsy page to grab one for yourself today!

For those of you looking forward to Tom Hooper's great looking adaptation of Les Miserables, here's a UK trailer that you're sure to enjoy. Not only does it contain a lot of new epic footage, but you finally get to hear Russell Crowe and several other of the cast members sing, including Hugh JackmanAnne HathawayAmanda SeyfriedSacha Baron CohenHelena Bonham-Carter, and Eddie Redmayne. It even features a different version of Hathaway's song that we've already heard numerous times. I think everyone sonds pretty decent for actors that normally don't deal with musicals.

The movie is set to be released on December 25th, and I have no doubt that it's going to end up with a ton of award nominations this year. Watch this latest trailer and let us know what you think now that you've heard the cast sing!

Here's the Synopsis:

Les Misérables is the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries and in 21 languages around the globe and still breaking box-office records everywhere in its 27th year. Helmed by The King’s Speech‘s Academy Award®-winning director, Tom Hooper, the Working Title/Cameron Mackintosh production stars Hugh Jackman, Oscar® winner Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne, with further casting to be announced.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

In December 2012, the world’s longest-running musical brings its power to the big screen in Tom Hooper’s sweeping and spectacular interpretation of Victor Hugo’s epic tale. With international superstars and beloved songs–including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More” and “On My Own”–Les Misérables, the show of shows, is now reborn as the cinematic musical experience of a lifetime.

Mark Millar Says KICK-ASS 2 Will Be Better Than The First

Kick-Ass comic creator Mark Millar has already seen quite a bit of Kick-Ass 2, and he's pretty excited about it, saying that it will be better than the first film. He recently sat in on an editing session, and took to his blog to talk about about the movie. He also addresses the Matthew Vaughn Star Wars rumor and teases three new film projects that will be announced soon.

Let's start out with the Kick-Ass 2 talk...

But Kick-Ass 2. What can I say? Let me tell you that yesterday as I was sitting in Eddie Hamilton's edit suite (think James Coburn's apartment in Our Man Flint) I literally for the first time thought this might actually be BETTER than the original. This was a huge moment for me because there is no bigger fan of the first movie than me. I think it's pretty close to perfect. But there's so much in this, the whole thing so rich, that I honestly think this might be the Empire Strikes Back to Star Wars. I'd seen over 40 mins before, but seeing the edited version of the next 20 mins gave me a very comprehensive look for how the finished movie is going to look and I was actually quite shocked. I won't spoil scenes for anyone who hasn't read the source material (the Hit-Girl series and Kick-Ass 2 comic), but there are so many great moments here. Kubrick said that a great movie has eight terrific moments. I lay in bed this morning and counted fourteen genuine movie-moment scenes. You can look at the book and probably guess these, but they're articulated so beautifully. I was really happy when I came away a couple of weeks back, but the Millar Gang and I were ecstatic when we left Eddie's suite yesterday. People are going to LOVE this and we all had a feeling that this was going to go really wide when it opens next June.

He then goes on to talk about Hit Girl, and Chloe Mortez' performance, and how much more badass she is.

To get myself vibed up, we watched the first Kick-Ass again before we went down and the thing that pleased me was the fact this feels like a continuation and an evolution as opposed to a retread. It doesn't have that Hangover 2 thing where it's just same jokes. It feels very new and fresh and all the new characters really work. Chloe's scenes work especially well. She hadn't had that much edited when I saw it a couple of weeks back, but this time I'm really getting a flavour of what she's doing with this kid who's never had to deal with social situations before. The tiny death-dealer from the first movie was a great gag, but the fact she's 3 years older now works great as it makes the movie go into a slightly different place, allowing her to be teased and bullied by people in school she's not allowed to kill. She's a 14 year old girl who's into John Woo more than 1 Direction and this stuff is AGONISING when you see it. Again, I won't give any spoilers, but she just hits all the marks as beautifully as you'd expect. And Claudia Lee totally dazzled me as her arch-nemesis in the school yard. We were all blown away by her audition, but she's phenomenal in these scenes and I predict she's going to be one of the biggest female stars under 30 in the next few years. Somebody save this and read it back in 2016. This kid is the next Rachel McAdams or Scarlett Johansson.

I can't wait to see what he's talking about! Hit-Girl is my favorite character in the story, and it sounds like it going to be awesome seeing her back in action! Millar then goes on to address those Vaughn Star Wars directing rumors saying,

...Vaughn departed X-Men because our Secret Service project was being copied by a few scripts doing the round and we didn't want anyone to beat us out there with our own idea. Star Wars has since, of course, announced an Episode 7 and he's been touted as a possible director for that movie. All I can say is that if he DOES get picked to helm the next Star Wars there would be nobody with more passion or enthusiasm for the project. I really don't think there could be a better choice, especially as we've referenced Star Wars pretty much every day in the 5 years we've known one another.

Not sure what to make of this, Millar capitalized the word DOES for some reason. I guess it could mean that Vaughn actually is in the running. If they are fast tracking The Secret Service into production, I guess Vaughn could fit in Star Wars right after, if he gets hired to direct it. So it looks like there might be some truth to this rumor. I hope so! Millar also teases some other projects that have yet to be announced, saying he was working on a secret project that that we'll find out in the next couple of days,

You know about Kick-Ass 2, Nemesis and The Secret Service in various stages of movie adaptation, but there's three more you'll get news on soon and the one in the next week or two is a secret project you literally haven't heard a word about in any medium. So that's all very exciting.

Do any of you have any ideas what these projects might be? Can't wait to see what he's got cooking! Millar also goes on to address the internet chatter that the first 45 minutes of Kick-Ass 2 will focus on Hit Girl, apparently it's not true...

When I said the first 45 mins of this flick is Hit-Girl I'm talking about the Hit-Girl SERIES, which Dave and Chris also appear in. The idea that it's about someone else for 45 mins is just insane. How can these guys be that literal?? But it seems to go quite wide when I checked this morning and smacked my forehead. Dave, Chris and Mindy are seeded all the way through this movie and get equal screen time so don't worry!! I'm also stunned that some sites still reporting sub-heading Balls to the Wall, which I told everyone two years ago we weren't using. It's Kick-Ass 2, people.

So there ya go! What do you think about what Millar had to say about Kick-Ass 2 and Vaughn possibly directing Star Wars?

Kevin Smith's STAR WARS Advice to Disney - Boba Fett Time Travel Story

$

0

It's no secret that director Kevin Smith is a huge fan of Star Wars, and like many of us, he was crazy excited to hear that Disney bought Lucasfilm and that we would be getting more Star Wars movies. Smith wrote an open letter to Disney that was published at THR called My Prayer for Star Wars

He explains what it was like for him growing up with Star Wars, playing with the toys, and creating his own Star Wars adventures with his best friend Pete. The article revolves around his childhood friendship with Pete, which was built on their love of Star Wars. That moves into talking about Boba Fett, one of our favorite Star Wars characters,

With no access to the actual Star Wars films until the VCR was made affordable to the average consumer, we'd create our own Star Wars adventures. The best story (and the only one outside of the movie canon that we'd repeatedly play) wasn't about Luke and Leia: It was about inexplicable fan-fave Boba Fett -- the intergalactic bounty hunter who brings a carbonite-frozen Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt. The plot of our backyard adventure: Boba Fett gets trapped by robotic gunslinger IG-88 in aStar Wars universe time loop, sending him through all the movies as well as moments only referenced in the flicks. In some eras, he's a hero -- even getting to kiss Princess Leia instead of Luke (this was before Return of the Jedi made 'em relatives). Other times when the chrono-belt pulled him into another era, Fett's the villain he's always known as in the flicks. The time-travel plot allowed us to touch on the well-told stories of the movies we so adored, but it also gave us a chance to mash 'em up with the funkier flights-of-fancy Pete and I would manufacture. It was like an episode of Quantum Leap before that show ever existed, and it was our favorite Star Wars adventure.

This little Boba Fett rundown leads into his advice to Disney, and how the awesome character should play a big role in the upcoming trilogy.

If Disney wants to make another cool billion dollars like it did with The Avengers last summer, all it needs to do is make a Boba Fett time-travel flick. It would center on a character everyone digs and allow for a greatest hits of Star Wars while playing with an already-established timeline, a la Back to the Future. You could use every living (and dead) actor from the previous Star Wars films, no matter what their age -- which means Mark HamillCarrie Fisher and Harrison Ford can come and play as well. It'd be a dream come true for any Star Wars fan -- particularly those of us who opted out of the boring-ass real world every summer for galaxies far, far away.

He goes on to talk about how he and Pete drifted apart as friends. Shortly after he made Clerks, Smith learned that Pete was hit by a car and killed.

Not a summer goes by when I don't think about Pete or our ongoing saga of Boba Fett lost in time. So when I heard about Disney's $4 billion Lucasfilm acquisition, naturally I had a brief, one-sided conversation with my former best friend.

"We might finally get to see that Fett flick we always dreamed about, Pete," I said aloud at my desk after I read the news.

So in a world where Disney needs to make back its investment, we may indeed see an all-Boba Fett film. And if the Force wills it, maybe it'll even be about Boba Fett lost in the Star Wars universe time stream. But even if it became the highest-grossing film of all time, it'd still never be as good as Pete King's version.

I think a lot of us can relate to growing up with Star Wars in our lives. A time travel Boba Fett film would be amazing, and I don't think fans would have a problem with it. What are your thoughts about Smith's Star Wars advice?

Trailer For The Zombie Romance Film WARM BODIES

The first trailer for writer/director Jonathan Levine's zombie love story, Warm Bodies, has been released, and you know what? It looks a lot better than I thought it would! It's got a fun vibe to it that I think is kind of cool. Looks like Levin pulled off a supernatural love story that will be worth watching. I actually laughed a couple of times while watching the trailer.

The film is an adaptation of a novel written by Isaac Marion, and the story follows an "existentially-tormented zombie (Nicholas Hoult) named R that begins an unlikely friendship with the human girlfriend of one of his victims. The blossoming relationship starts a chain reaction that will transform him, his fellow zombies and maybe the whole lifeless world."

The movie also stars Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton, Dave Franco, and Rob Corddry. It's set to be released on February 1st, 2013. Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know if you think it looks good!

Here's an international traile from :

SANGUE QUENTE - Trailer Legendado by dmagianet

Here's the Synopsis:

WARM BODIES is an upcoming 2013 romantic zombie film based on Isaac Marion’s popular novel of the same name. Directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50), the film stars Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy/Beast in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class) and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four). The film focuses on the development of the relationship between Julie (a teenage girl) and R (a zombie), their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

R (Hoult) is a zombie. After a zombie apocalypse, he shambles across an America filled with collapsed buildings, rusted cars, shattered windows, and abandoned high-rises. He can only grunt or moan and craves human brains to get high on their memories. After eating the brains of a suicidal teen, R is overcome with love for the teen’s companion, Julie Grigio (Palmer). R rescues Julie from his zombie pack and takes her back to his lair. She eventually leaves, and R follows her back to Citi Stadium, the largest remaining human refuge.

Full Trailer For JURASSIC PARK 3D!

Universal Pictures has released this trailer for the 3D re-release of Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park, and it does a great job of reminding us how awesome this movie is and builds excitement to see this classic movie back up on the big screen!

The movie is set to hit theaters again on April 5th, 2013. Next summer is the film's 20th anniversary, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie again with my kids in theaters! I honestly think it's better to get a 3D re-release of a classic film than a 3D remake. Enjoy the trailer and let us know if you're excited to see Jurassic Park on the big screen!

IRON MAN 3 - Spoiler Details Revealed for Armor Arsenal

$

Simon Philips, the President of Marvel Entertainment International, recently attended a presentation in São Paulo. It was there he unloaded some very cool spoiler details for Shane Black's Iron Man 3. I suggest you turn back now if you're trying to shield yourself from any more information from the film because I'm going to jump right into it! The following information comes from Omelete, and it gives us some awesome details about Tony Stark's armor arsenal, and it sounds like Pepper Potts will get her own armor!

The big surprise was that Tony Stark may combine bits of their armor, making custom configurations. Arms with the Mark I and Mark II breastplate of head Mark III, for example. But the superhero arsenal includes much more than that, since the underground tank armor it will be significantly higher than in the previous films, with at least 16 new (and we can expect some classic visuals of comics in the middle)!

This manipulation of distance pieces will be possible thanks to technology Extremis, which is deployed in Tony Stark in the surgery scene that appears in the trailer.

The presentation also revealed that Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow ) also wear their own armor. Remember that in the comics, Tony saved his beloved from a fate similar to his - the shrapnel threatening heart - giving her an armor called Redemption.

The more I hear and see from this movie the better it gets! I love where they are going with this! I can't freakin' wait for Iron Man 3! I also just want to point out that there's a scene in the trailer where one of the Iron Man suits is crouched over Tony Stark, someone is obviously in the suit... Pepper?

What do you think about the latest information on the armor technology that Stark will have in this next chapter of the story?

SKYFALL: Review - The Best Modern Bond (Spoiler Free)

$
0
0

Skyfall starts with an opening musical flourish that ends quickly. James Bond in silhouette steps forward. Only his eyes, resolute and stern, are visible. Without a single explosion, gun fired, or femme fatale, director Sam Mendes has hooked me; and Daniel Craig is an absolute bad ass.

Of all the previous Bond films my favorites are Goldfinger, Thunderball, and Golden Eye. I've seen all 23 films and I love the classic films the most because of how the've encapsulated their time period. The old films relied heavily on exotic locations, massive evil bases, and multiple Bond girls. Skyfall is the inverse; most of it is in the United Kingdom, the bad guy only has one base, and there are only 2 Bond girls.

Bond movies, at one time, were the pinnacle of large action sequences. But in a post Bourne, Avatar, Avengers, and Transformers world, how does 007 evolve? Again, Skyfall takes the alternate route, it's more intimate and focused. The action set pieces have a thrilling character-driven tempo that are damn clever.

This marks the first Bond film to be shot digitally using ARRI ALEXA cameras. Cinematographer Roger Deakins does award worthy work. Mendes and Deakins have said that they used, at most, 2 cameras at a time. Which is why the action feels so tight and methodical, the shot sequences flow naturally because everything was planned -- not just created in editing afterward.

A great a example of expert filmmaking is the sequence in Shanghai which displays Bond's new physical vulnerabilities. Who knew elevators, doorways, neon reflections, and near absolute slience could be so riveting?

The tone of the film is far more personal and emotional than we've ever seen in a previous Bond film before. The story is smart in its setups; small details have a rippling effect throughout the movie.

The interplay between Javier Bardem as Silva and Craig is as an absolute pleasure to watch. Bardem is calculating and delivers the best Bond villain monologue ever.

007's "hobby" of resurrection has been what keeps him relevant, which is why Skyfall's look back to the previous canon is so interesting for long time fans of the series. Bringing back the '63 Aston Martin DB5, the reintroduction of long established characters, and even a twist on the Walther PPK, make the film stronger. Looking back and stepping forward is normally a bad idea, but Mendes balances things perfectly.

This is my favorite Bond film of the last 20 years, and it's an absolute must watch. One thing I will say is stay away from trailers and TV spots. You'll enjoy the film more if you don't know what's coming next.

STAR WARS Episode VII Might Be Written By TOY STORY 3 Scribe

$

It looks like Disney may have found a screenwriter for Star Wars Episode VII. It's being reported that the studio is looking to hire Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt to take on the challenge of helping bring Star Wars back to the big screen! Arndt has also written films such as Little Miss Sunshine, Oblivion and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

According to Vulture, insiders close to the production say that Arndt has already written a 40 to 50 page treatment for the film. He will most likely end up being at least one of the writers on the film, which is set to starr shooting in 2014 for a 2015 release.

Vulture's source also confirms previous statements that we've reported on that the studio wants to bring back the three main characters of the original Star Wars trilogy... Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo. As of right now, there are no deals set in place with any of the actors, but it sounds like the studio will be getting around to it in the near future.

It was also reported that the treatment will be sent to directors Brad Bird, Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams. How amazing would it be if one of these directors signed on to the project?! Arndt is a solid choice to take on the project, he's a big fan of the Star Wars franchise, and talks about it frequently. During the 2010 Austin Film Festival Arndt stated "that if a writer could resolve the story's arcs (internal, external, philosophical) immediately after the Moment of Despair at the climax, he or she would deliver the Insanely Great Ending and put the audience in a euphoric state. The faster it could happen, the better. By [Arndt’s] reckoning, George Lucas hit those three marks at the climax of Star Wars within a space of 22 seconds."

Arndt explained the third act a little further at the 2009 Hawaii Writers Conference, "its central characters' main goals all are met on pages 89 through 91 of the original Lucas script: At the crescendo of Star Wars, a spectral Obi Wan urges, 'Use the Force, Luke,' and he does, thus reaching his inner goal (fighting self-doubt to become a hero). Han Solo reappears (meeting the philosophical goal of overcoming selfishness with altruism) to shoot down Darth Vader, which allows Luke to use the Force to mentally guide his shot and blow up the Death Star (outer goal and inner goals simultaneously met)."

Seems like Arndt is indeed the right man for the job. I can't wait to see what he comes up with if he ends up writing the script! What are your thoughts on Arndt writing Star Wars: Episode VII? Who would you like to see direct it?

McG Set to Direct MAGIC CASTLE

Not long ago we learned that a movie was going to be made based on Hollywood's legendary Magic Castle. Terminator Salvation director McG has come on board to bring this movie to life. He's definitely not my first choice. I'm not the biggest fan of McG -- although, I surprisingly liked his last film This Means War

The script is being written by Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari, but as of right now there are no details on the story. As I said before, I imagine it will be some kind of supernatural film, maybe somewhere along the lines of Disney's Haunted Mansion and Night of the Museum... only based around magic, and hopefully it will end up being a hell of a lot better!

The Magic Castle is one of my favorite places to go for entertainment, so as a fan I really hope the movie turns out being worthy of the historic club. McG is currently directing the Kevin Costner film Three Days to Kill, once he's done with that he'll get to work on the Magic Castle project.

Have you ever been to The Magic Castle? If so, what is your favorite part? What do you think about McG directing the film?

Here's a little history behind the castle:

The Academy of Magical Arts was first begun by William Larsen in 1952 in conjunction with an independent magazine of magic, Genii, of which all the subscribers became instant members. William Larsen, Sr. died at the age of 48 in 1955. His wife and older son, Bill Jr. continued the printing of the magazine but the "Academy" lacked any formal structure or organization and the concept did not flourish. In 1962 William Larsen's younger son, Milt, undertook the job of leasing and restoring an ornately styled, 1909 mansion in Hollywood, California and turning it into a meeting place for magicians which he called the "Magic Castle." As part of their plan to revive the Academy and locate it in the "Magic Castle" William Larsen, Jr. filed articles of incorporation and created a nonprofit corporation, in 1962. The Magic Castle opened its doors in January, 1963 as the home of the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. From an initial membership of 50, the Academy has grown to a worldwide membership of over 5,000 today.

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and--if he has his way--every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop...except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart. "Gangster Squad" is a colorful retelling of events surrounding the LAPD's efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.

HITCHCOCK - Behind the Scenes Featurette

Hitchock looks like it's going to be a great movie. I'm a huge fan of the director's films, and loved what I saw in the trailer. The movie was directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) and is based on the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello. It tells the love story of Hitchock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma (Helen Mirren) while he was making his classic horror film Psycho. A new behind the scenes featurette was released, and it focuses on that husband and wife relationship. It contains footage from the film mixed in with interviews of the cast and crew talking about Hitchcock and Alma's relationship.

The movie also stars Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D'Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow, and Kurtwood Smith. It's set to be released on November 23rd. Do you know much about the behind the scenes life of Alfred Hitchcock?

Here's the short synopsis:

HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock, and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal movie PSYCHO.

First of all, you should know if you don't already, that this World War Z movie is really nothing like the book. But! It still looks like it will be an awesomely epic zombie movie. It looks a hell of a lot better than what I thought it would be. I've never seen a zombie film made on such an epic scale like this before, which is really exciting for me. Let's just hope the story and script got worked out, and the movie ends well. It didn't seem like many people cared for the first teaser they released, but it looks like a good zombie movie even though all it really has in common with the book is the title.

The film is based on Max Brooks' novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, and the movie revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Marc Forster directed the movie, and it stars Brad PittMireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz , James Badge Dale, and Matthew Fox.

The movie is set to be released on June 21st, 2013. Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think of the film!

50 Years of James Bond: The Movie - Supercut

Here's a feature-length video supercut celebrating the 007 films called 50 Years of James Bond: The Movie. It features five minutes of all 22 Bond movies and places them in consecutive order to show the evolution of the incredibly badass spy franchise. Here's an explanation from the YouTube page that explains the video and how it was edited together, read it before you watch.

Approximately five minutes from each of the 22 Eon produced James Bond films have been cut together, in order and in sequence, beginning with the first five minutes of DR. NO (1962) followed by minutes 5-10 of FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963), minutes 10-15 of GOLDFINGER (1964), minutes 15-20 of THUNDERBALL (1965), continuing on through each of the remaining 18 Bond features (accounting for variables in each title's running time) culminating with the final five minutes of 2008's QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

This fresh look at the "James Bond Formula" provides a new exploration of the evolution of the series into a filmmaking genre uniquely it's own. With few exceptions, each title's transition into the picture that follows it is nearly seamless, creating a viewing experience that at first might serve to reminds us "if you've seen one Bond film, you've seen them all," but looking more closely it is in fact an endearing homage to a character who single-handedly shaped modern cinema's action/adventure formula and who continues to leave an indelible mark on generations worldwide.

It's definitely a cool and interesting way to watch the franchise evolve. I thought this would be a fun post since Skyfall is set to be released this weekend, and I can't wait to see it!

Guillermo del Toro Confirms Discussions on His HEAVEN SENT DC Film

Last week we learned that Guilermo del Toro was looking to develop a supernatural Justice League Dark style movie called Heaven Sent. The movie would bring together the DC Comics characters Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, and Sargon, as well as Etrigan the Demon! All in one movie. This would no doubt be one hell of a film! I'm actually more excited about this happening than I am with the Justice League movie currently in development.

Del Toro himself confirmed with MTV that the movie is cooking, and he's in discussions with Warner Bros.

When somebody asked me about Justice League…I'm not involved in Justice League. I am discussing…I've been discussing with the fans and I've been very, very open about how much Swamp Thing was key when I was a kid. Comics in Mexico came on the first two days of the week. Around Tuesday and Wednesday I would go to the newsstand on my bicycle and I would get Swamp Thing every time it was available and I loved Jack Kirby's Demon. I love Constantine and all that. You know, I've been pursuing doing something with them for many, many years. Hopefully it'll come to pass. But we are still just discussing.

It's still seems like a long way off, but it seems like there's a solid chance it could eventually get made. We previously heared that WB lawyers have been hard hard at work clearing the rights on all of these characters so that the movie can happen.

Are you excited to hear that there's some actual momentum on this epic project?
