First we heard Mark Wahlberg was in talks to join Transformers 4, then we heard he wasn't, then we heard Michael Bay was thinking about doing it because of the internet response, and today he's officially been cast in the movie! So there ya go, Wahlberg is the star of Transformers 4, a franchise that he's the perfect fit for. What do you think about Wahlberg joining the film?

Transformers 4 will be released on June 27th, 2014.

Here's the Press Release:

HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 8, 2012) – After an exceptionally successful collaboration on the upcoming "Pain and Gain," Michael Bay has cast Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg in the highly anticipated "TRANSFORMERS 4." The film will hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

"Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on "Pain and Gain" and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy," said Bay.

Bay will direct the next installment in the "TRANSFORMERS" series, which begins shooting next spring. From Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., in association with Hasbro, the film will be produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.

Bay’s first "TRANSFORMERS" film was a box office sensation in 2007, opening at #1 and earning more than $700 million worldwide. His second installment "TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN" in 2009 grossed more than $830 million worldwide. In 2011, "TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON" was an even bigger hit worldwide, grossing more than a billion dollars to become the 5th highest grossing film of all time. The film is based on magazine articles by Pete Collins, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and produced by Donald DeLine, Michael Bay and Ian Bryce.

AMC In Talks With Netflix To Bring Back THE KILLING!

I thought The Killing was a great series, and I was a little upset when it was yanked off the air. We knew there was a chance the show would be back. After all, AMC said they would be looking for a new home, and I'm happy to report that AMC is in talks with Netflix to bring it back to life!

THR reports that if the deal goes through, AMC would get the first window for the new season, which is very similar to the deal that NBC made with Direct TV for Friday Night Lights. Series stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are under contract for a third season, so you can expect them to return.

The show is based on the Danish series Forbrydelsen (The Crime), The Killing followed Linden and Holder as they investigated the murder of teenager Rosie and all those connected to it. Each episode of the series covered the span of roughly one day. The Rosie Larsen murder was wrapped up at the end of the season two finale. It will be interesting to see what's in store for season three if it goes through!

Are you excited to hear The Killing might come back for a third season?

Alan Arkin Joins Robert De Niro In GRUDGE MATCH

Alan Arkin is in negotiations to join Robert De Niro, Kim Basinger, and Sylvester Stallone in Warner Bros. boxing drama Grudge Match. The movie is set to be directed by Peter Segal (Get Smart) from a script written by Tim Kelleher and rewritten by Entourage creator Doug Ellin.

In the film, De Niro and Stallone play retired fighters who decide to step into the ring one last time to settle an old score. According to Variety, "Stallone plays Henry 'Razor' Sharp, who retired after winning his last fight against Billy 'The Kid' McGuigan (De Niro), a passionate pugilist who never recovered after losing his belt to Razor and being denied a rematch. Now an out-of-shape restaurant owner, The Kid longs to be back in the spotlight and jumps at the chance to take another shot at Razor."

Arkin would play a character named "Lightning" Louis Epstein, "Razor's former trainer who despite a medical condition, agrees to resume his post after Razor rescues him from a nursing home. Razor takes the rematch to pay Lightning's medical bills, but questions his decision when an old flame (Basinger) comes back into his life. Comedian Kevin Hart will co-star as the fight promoter."

I love this film concept, especially since both actors have played boxers in their careers. Arkin will make a great addition to this already awesome cast.

Director Todd Phillips has released a series of Instagram photos from the set of The Hangover 3, featuring the Wolf Pack. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha are all back and appear in the photos along with Ken Jeong, John Goodman, and some crazy thugs sporting pig masks.

The movie also stars  Heather Graham,  Jeffrey Tambor, Gillian Vigman, Sasha Barrese, and Jamie ChungHere's a the short plot synopsis for the film,

This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

I just hope this movie turns out better than the sequel. It had its moments, but it wasn't as funny or good as the first film. We've we've also heard that the pack is headed back to Las Vegas, and that they will eventually end up in Mexico to rescue Doug from an asylum. I'm sure it will end up being an interesting a fun movie. All that matters is that it keeps us entertained.

Explosive Look At Tom Cruise in a Mech Suit in ALL YOU NEED IS KILL

Check out this new photo from from director Doug Liman's new sci-fi action film All You Need is Kill. As you can see, it features Tom Cruise in a mech suit running away from a giant explosion. That suit looks gnarly and uncomfortable.

This is an adaptation of the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, and is basically an action-packed sci-fi version of the film Goundhog Day. The story follows a soldier in a war against aliens who finds himself reliving his last day in the battle over and over again after being killed. Because of this, he's able to become a better soldier.

The movie also stars Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton. Cruise takes on the lead role and Blunt plays another soldier who fights alongside him, and Paxton plays a tough-as-nails platoon sergeant. It sounds like it will be a good movie, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. What do you think of your first look at Cruise in the film?

Here's the Synopsis:

The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.

But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.

Amazing Hi-Tech Terminator-Like Bionic Prosthetic Arm

Six years ago a 53-year-old father lost his arm in an accident, and has since been outfitted with an incredible hi-tech Terminator-like bionic arm and hand that is so precise that he can type with it! It's called the Bebionic3, and is made of aluminium and alloy knuckles. It moves like a real human limb by responding to Nigel's muscle twitches. "The robotic arm is so sensitive it means the father-of-one can touch type on a computer keyboard, peel vegetables, and even dress himself for the first time in six years."

The Bebionic3 is a myoelectric prosthetic hand that uses residual neuro-muscular signals from your muscles to operate a number of precise functions.

Featuring a range of 14 hand positions and grips, the Bebionic3 is also offered with a skin-tone glove that approximates the appearance of a real hand.

I'd never want to loose arm, but if one day it gets bitten off by a shark while I'm surfing, then I'd have to get me one of these things. Here's a couple videos showing the impressive Bebionic3 in action! Hopefully it doesn't take over the rest of his body and start the robot apocalypse.

Steven Spielberg Says No to STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

There was a time when Steven Spielberg would have loved to make a Star Wars movie, he even asked Lucas at one point if he could do one, but Lucas told him no. This is what he had to say in 2002 when he was asked about directing a Star Wars film,

I've asked [Lucas]. He won't let me do one. I wanted to do one 15 years ago, and he didn't want me to do it. I understand why - Star Wars is George's baby. It's his cottage industry and it's his fingerprints. He knows I've got Jurassic Park and Raiders. But George has Star Wars and I don't think he feels inclined to share any of it with me.

Well, now that George has handed over his Empire to the Magic Kingdom, anyone could end up directing, including Spielberg. If he ever wanted to do one, this would be his chance. Access Hollywood caught up with the director at the the Lincoln premiere and asked him if he would direct Star Wars: Episode VII, this was his reply...

No! No! It’s not my genre. It’s my best friend George’s genre.

And that's that. You can scratch Spielberg off your wish list of potential Star Wars directors. Kind of sucks but what can ya do? I'm sure they'll still end up with a director worthy of the franchise.

New Pics From THE HOBBIT Featuring Wargs

These new pictures from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey give us our first real look at the menacing looking Wargs from the story. These beasts look absolutley terrifying. They look like they might be screenshots from an upcoming new trailer for the film. I'm sure we'll get at least one more full trailer before the movie is released on December 14th!

Here's a description of the creatures:

Wargs were beasts of Middle-Earth used by orcs of Isengard and Mordor in the Third Age. They were simply giant wolf-hyenas that roamed Rhovanion, also known as Wilderland, and the wilds to the east of the Misty Mountains. They appear first in the Fellowship of the Ring, attacking the Fellowship before their entrance into Moria, but in the book they are only called Wolves, from Isengard.

In a way they took the place of Werewolves in the Third Age. Like so many foul creatures, the Warg may have first been bred in Angband by Morgoth, the result of mixing two animals to produce a true monster. Wargs were said by some to have been very intelligent predators; it is rumoured that they had a crude understanding of some orc words and their Black Speech. Wargs appear in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Hobbit, in which they attack Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, and the dwarves that are traveling to the Lonely Mountain (Erebor).

Do you like the designs of these deadly beasts?

KILLZONE INTERCEPT - Action-Packed Live Action Fan Film

This is a very impressive fan film for the video game Killzone called Killzone Intercept. The film was directed by Brian Curtin, and it turned out pretty damn awesome. The production value is great, especially for a fan film, and it's action packed. The short was made over the course of two years by a group of passionate fans. If you're a fan of the game or fan films in general, then I'm sure you're going to love this one.

Here's the Synopsis:

Killzone Intercept occurs during the events of Killzone 3 as the ISA evacuate Helghan. A small scout squad is called upon to stall a large group of approaching Helghasts that plan to cut off the ISA convoy from reaching the extraction point. Outnumbered, the squad takes on the task with hopes of getting everyone off the planet alive.

Here's a note from the director:

This is another film project that was 2yrs in the making and only possible with unbelievable amounts of work and support from friends and family. It amazes me what can happen when a group of talented people are passionate about a project. On previous projects, we have never had any form of support from the actual game creators. Luckily, Guerrilla Games was kind enough to give feedback and recognition for a fan film project fueled by our love for the games. Other developers should take notes. Now, enjoy the film!

I'd like to thank Curtin for sending his film over to us. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! Head on over to their facebook page for more information. Now watch the film and let us know what you think!

In pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama can't wait to enter the fray.

Watch the first couple of episodes and let us know what you think! It's a shame this didn't get picked up as a full on series. The show has a solid start, and it looks promising.

Here's the synsopsis for the series:

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful Battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly find himself at odds with Coker (Ben Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports. With 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

Joining Pasqualino and Cotton in the cast is Lili Bordan, who will play Dr. Beka Kelly, a Ph.D. who worked for Graystone Industries that created the Cylon robots. Currently assigned to a secret military mission, Beka and Adama quickly establish a rapport.

Chris Pratt (Moneyball) stars as Emmet. Iron Man Might Show Up in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

$

There's a rumor that hit the internet today that Marvel wants Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role as Iron Man in their Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The news comes from comicbook.com and one of their inside sources, but it's still only a rumor until there's confirmation.

During New York Comic Con Marvel revealed the cover for their new Guardians of the Galaxy comic book, and Iron Man was a part of the group. Specualtuion shortly followed that he'd be in the film as well, but now an inside source has come out to make the speculation more plausible. So if they plan on following their new comic book storyline then it would make some sense to see the character in the film as well. As far as I know, Downey Jr. still has yet to sign a new contract with Marvel, and Iron Man 3 will be his last film under contract. The site goes on to say that,

In addition to the claim from our source, there has been some recent foreshadowing that it will indeed be Tony Stark’s Iron Man joining  the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Avengers Assemble comic book was specifically launched to feature a team of Avengers, which would be familiar with new fans arising from the movie.  In the Avengers Assemble #8 comic book, Tony Stark is invited to join the Guardians of the Galaxy in their outer space adventures.

Here's that section of the comic book:

It would be so freakin' cool to see Iron Man end up in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. There's a few other little hints that have been put out there from twitter user Roger Wardell who tends to tweet out a lot of Marvel insider news. He at one point suggested that Iron Man 3 underwent a last minute rewrite for the film’s third act and that like The Avengers it will feature a mid credits scene and a post credits scene.

Again, none of this has been confirmed, but it makes for good discussion and speculation. What do you think about Iron Man possibly being included in Guardians of the Galaxy? I hope it turns out to be true.
