STAR TREK BEYOND Makeup Designer Shows You How To Become Jaylah For Halloween

We're less than three weeks away from Halloween, so now's the time to start thinking about and planning out the details of your costume if you're going to dress up this year. And if you're looking to mimic one of the year's most easily-identifiable characters, you could do much worse than going as Sofia Boutella's kickass character Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond (read about how she got her name here).

There are tons of makeup tutorials on YouTube, but how often do we see ones from Hollywood pros who've actually worked on huge budget blockbusters? Paramount has released a video of Star Trek Beyond Makeup Designer Joel Harlow and Lead Makeup Artist Richie Alonzo showing us how to look like a simplified version of Jaylah. Check it out and make sure to come back and drop us a finished photo of yourself in the comments if you plan on using this tutorial this year!

Star Trek Beyond hits Blu-ray on November 1st.

Intense Clip From THE WALKING DEAD Season 7 and Multiple Deaths Confirmed for Season Premiere

AMC recently released a clip from the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 7 that features Rick threatening to kill Negan after Negan kills one of his friends. It's not revealed who dies, but Rick is beyond pissed yet at the same time completely defeated. It's pretty intense.

Jeffery Dean Morgan also confirmed a previous report that Negan will kill multiple people in the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. Fans of the series were all left wondering who Negan brutally killed in the Season 6 finale using his baseball bat, Lucille. Well there will at least be one other person who meets their demise. When talking to Den of Geek, Morgan said:

“Negan’s not just going to kill one person in [the premiere]. He’s not afraid of bashing in skulls.”

There could possibly be more than two people who die. One thing is for sure, and that's that Negan is going to be on the warpath, and he doesn't hesitate to kill anyone. I have no doubt that over the course of the upcoming season, he's going to kill a ridiculous amount of people. No one is safe! Morgan when on to talk about how fun it is playing the villain:

“As soon as the cameras are rolling and I get Lucille in my hand, it kind of just transforms me. This character in particular has been such a joy to play for me. Put the dark stuff aside and the horrible things that Negan does… As an actor, it’s just been so much fun. We’re kind of midway through filming season seven, so I feel like I’m pretty locked in.”

Morgan is truly perfect casting for the role, and I can't wait to see him grow and explode in the role. You can watch the clip below, and then below that I'm going to go into some rumors I've heard about who dies in the season premiere. If you want to stay safe from that, then don't read below the video.

I've read a few things on various websites and from a couple other people that have access to certain knowledge. I have no idea if this is true or not, so take it with a grain of salt, but there's a chance that one of the two characters that dies early on is Glenn, which makes sense because he dies in the comics, so it wouldn't surprise me. The other death that's been reported is Abraham, which if is true will piss me off because I love the character!

Face Your Fears in Latest Great Trailer for A MONSTER CALLS

A new trailer was recently released for the stunningly great looking film A Monster Calls. It was released in conjunction with National Face Your Fears Day. I've heard nothing but praise for this film that was directed by J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible). I haven't seen it myself yet, but apparently, it's a bittersweet film with the power to leave you in tears.

The movie is based on a children’s fantasy novel, which follows a 12-year-old boy named Conor (Lewis MacDougall) "as he attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith."

The movie also stars Toby Kebbell, Sigourney Weaver, Liam Neeson, and Geraldine Chaplin. It's set to be released in theaters on October 21st.

New Story Details Revealed for Marvel's IRON FIST Series

Over the weekend the first trailer for Marvel's Iron Fist was released. I thought it looked awesome, and I think it's going to have some of the coolest fight sequences we've seen yet in the Marvel series. I'm a huge fan of martial arts, and I'm excited to see that utilized to the extreme in this series.

Today we've got some additional information on the story for the series. Up to this point all we've really had was the following synopsis:

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

During a recent interview with Comingsoon, Executive Producer Jeph Loeb shared some additional info that reveals what the story will be about. He said:

"It’s very grounded. What we were really interested, from the very beginning, was exploring who is Danny Rand. This is a character who’s a little younger than some of the other heroes that we’ve seen so far.
"We open with a very simple premise, which is, at the age of 10, Danny vanished off the face of the Earth. The world believes that the son of a billionaire is gone. When he reappears at the beginning of the show, and he’s 25 years old. He announces, 'I’m here.' Has no proof, has no identity, has no DNA.
"One of the things that’s fantastic about the show is, it’s very much a mystery. It’s very much a, 'how do you go about proving who you are when there’s no way to do that.' That’s not just the story, that’s also the theme of it, which is, 'how do you go about proving who you are when no one knows,' including yourself, 'what’s happened to you.'"

So not only are we going to get to see some badass fight sequences, but we are going to get a solid story that revolves around an interesting character. Finn Jones, that actor who plays Danny Rand, expanded on what Loeb said:

"It’s fantastic, it’s so great. The best thing about Danny Rand is that he has these huge massive contradictions. One half of him is this super centered, trying to be a super centered martial artist and warrior, and the other half of him is a live-wire, suffering from trauma, riddling with PTSD. You’ve got those two contradictions that are constantly battling each other, and the other contradiction is that he’s spent some time in the East, but then he’s from a westernized family.
"Bringing those two together, especially when he comes back to New York and starts getting involved with Rand, there’s a lot of corporate questions, corporate ethics quite a lot because he sees through things, and he’s not, he’s innocent and he’s pure. He hasn’t been brought up in this very materialist, dog-eat-dog world, which then suddenly he finds himself in. There’s lots of contradictions to play with, and it’s a lot of fun as an actor to kind of get into that."

The series also stars Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Marvel's Iron Fist will hit Netflix on March 17th, 2017.

VICIOUS Is an Award Winning Horror Short That's Scary as Hell

I've got a great horror short for you to check out today called "Vicious," and it's pretty damn terrifying. The story revolves around a young woman who is in the process of dealing with the death of her sister. One night she comes home to find her front door unlocked. It turns out that she might not be alone, and things take a very spooky turn.

The film was written and directed by Oliver Park, and not only did I enjoy the story, but the way it was shot definitely enhanced the fear factor. The imagery was wonderfully eerie. I especially loved how he uses imagination to enhance the fear. For example, when I was a kid and there was a pile of clothes thrown onto a chair, when it was dark and I was in bed, those clothes looked like a monster lurking in my room. The creeks and cracks in the old house I grew up in didn't help either! They use those kinds of tricks to tell this horror story, and it's executed perfectly.

If you scare easily, this horror short is definitely going to get you! It does have some jump scares that are handled extremely well. The movie tells a slow burn kind of story that leads to a great finale! Make sure to watch it in the dark with the sound up!

This past weekend a badass teaser trailer was released for John Wick: Chapter 2. It did a great job of getting fans completely pumped up for the sequel. It looks so freakin' awesome! Lionsgate has now released three new photos from the film featuring Ruby Rose as Ares, who kicks some major ass in the first trailer. Then there's Lawrence Fishburn as The Bowler King, and I'm not sure who's in the third photo, but it's a cool shot!

Keanu Reeves returns in the sequel to the 2014 hit as legendary hitman John Wick who is forced to back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

John Wick: Chapter 2 blasts its way into theaters on February 10th, 2017.

International Trailer for DOCTOR STRANGE Includes Some Cool New Action Sequences

We've only got a few weeks left before Doctor Strange is released in theaters, and I'm so pumped up! The anticipation is killing me! As we continue to wait to see the film, Marvel has released a fun new international trailer that continues to tease the movie's awesomeness. It contains a couple cool new action sequences that I've never seen before, so keep a look out for those while you watch it. One of them comes near the end and shows Strange jumping down and through a transmogrified NYC landscape. This movie is going to be trippy as hell!

Marvel recently screened 15 minutes of the film to the press. I wasn't there, but I've heard that it is completely mind-blowing stuff that will floor fans. It looks and sounds like director Scott Derrickson has really created something special here, and I'm so excited to finally see the story play out on the big screen.

Doctor Strange will be released in theaters on November 4th!

How SUICIDE SQUAD Should Have Ended

Suicide Squad may have gotten bashed to hell by a bunch of movie critics, but it made ton of money at the box office, which means audiences enjoyed it. I personally enjoyed it and thought it was a really fun flick. Of course, the story could have gone in so many different directions, and it could have ended in so many different ways. Those are hilariously explored in the latest episode from the team at How it Should Have Ended. Most of those alternate endings involve Amanda Waller or the Enchantress being taken out of the equation before they can cause any trouble. It also pokes fun at a few other things involving the characters. Whether you enjoyed Suicide Squad or hated it, I think you'll enjoy what this video dishes out.

NARCOS Star Boyd Holbrook in Talks to Star in Shane Black's THE PREDATOR

Benicio Del Toro was in talks to star in Shane Black's upcoming film The Predator, but in a recent report from THR, the actor has fallen out of negotiations. It looks like the main reason things didn't work out was because of scheduling conflicts. Twentieth Century Fox didn't waste any time on choosing his replacement.

The studio is currently in talks with Boyd Holbrook, one of the stars of Netflix's fantastic series Narcos, to take on the lead role. He's also playing the villain in the studio's upcoming film Logan. Holbrook may not be as big of an actor as Del Toro, and because of that, "Fox is planning on beefing up the supporting cast." From what I've seen of Holbrook in Narcos, he's definitely a talented actor who will most likely end up being great in the role.

There aren't a lot of details on the film yet. We know that film's main character will be named Quinn Mackenna and that the story will take place about thirty years after the events of the original film, which makes the film a sequel. There are no details on the plot at this time, though.

Black wrote the treatment for The Predator and his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker is writing the screenplay. They are looking to start shooting the film in February 2017, and I can't wait to see how it turns out! I'm pretty excited about this film project.

JURASSIC WORLD 2 to Focus on Animal Abuse

The new Jurassic World will mirror the real life consequences of animal abuse according to the director of the first film. Time reports Colin Trevorrow that had this to say about the blockbuster sequel...

“The dinosaurs will be a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons,”

Trevorrow continued and explained why it's necessary that J.A. Bayona direct the film as opposed to him...

“The second part will be a very different movie that will explore new paths. For that reason, it was clear that it needed to be Bayona who would direct it, in order to have it grow and evolve with his very personal vision.”

I'm not sure how I feel about a Jurassic Park film with an agenda. Let's be honest, they're already about the cheesiest blockbuster hit on the market and trying to add some subtext to a film about running from dinosaurs could come off as ridiculous. Then again, it could bring some seriousness to the film that hasn't been seen since its birth.

Do you think having a real world message will better serve the Jurassic Park franchise?

I love the 1966 series Batman with Adam West and Burt Ward. It was just such an incredibly entertaining and campy show. I especially enjoyed the look of it. The costumes and the sets had just such a fun design to them.

Today we've got some awesome original production art to share with you from the series created by A. Leslie Thomas, who was a Hollywood art director who worked on 1950s horror films such as I was a Teenage Werewolf and Blood of Dracula.

The art recently resurfaced on Batgirl Bat-Trap, and it gives us a cool behind-the-scenes look at the work that went into creating this colorful world of Batman in the 60s. As you'll see, the artwork is stunning!

Ilana Glazer and James Corden Cast in EMOJIMOVIE: EXPRESS YOURSELF

$

Ilana Glazer and James Corden will join T.J. Miller in EmojiMovie: Express Yourself. It's a film about emojis that look nothing like the emojis you find in your phone. Here's the official description for the film:

EMOJIMOVIE: EXPRESS YOURSELF unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Ilana Glazer). Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.

This is going to be one of those films that people trash and then, against all odds, it debuts at number 1 worldwide and spawns sequels. I want to be wrong but The Smurfs and Ice Age made it happen, so who am I to count this film out?

The threat of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) looms large in The Walking Dead, and AMC wants to make sure that everyone is all caught up before season 7 starts with multiple deaths. The network has you covered, because they've just announced that an 88-episode marathon of the zombie series will take place between now and when the new season premieres in just under two weeks. Rather than airing every single episode back to back, though, the marathon will kick off on Sunday, October 16th at 7am, and then pick back up each night at 6pm for the remainder of that week, leading right into the season 7 premiere on Sunday, October 23 at 9pm.

As /Film points out, this is part of AMC's annual FearFest event, which begins tomorrow morning with a Halloween movie marathon, rolls into the next day with a Friday the 13th marathon, and continues with multiple films in the A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, The Omen, The Amityville Horror, Alien, The Exorcist, Hellraiser, and Underworld franchises as Halloween approaches. Check out the network's official site for the full schedule, and start clearing your DVRs now.

Lana Condor Joins ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL

Lana Condor has joined the cast of Alita: Battle Angel, Deadline says. The film, which is being directed by Robert Rodriguez, is based on the graphic novel by Yukito Kushiro

The story begins when a scientist rebuilds a female cyborg with no memory of her past, except for her deadly martial arts skills. She then goes around fighting crime. Obviously things get complicated and I'm sure memories of her past come back to haunt her.

Condor (who had a very small role as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse) joins a cast that already includes Rosa Salazar, Jackie Earle Haley, Ed Skrein, Eiza Gonzalez, and Christoph Waltz. The film has been slated for release in July of 2018.

First Photo of Amber Heard as Mera in JUSTICE LEAGUE

This is our first official look at Amber Heard in the role of Mera the Queen of Atlantis in Zack Snyder's Justice League. I don't really think Heard is that good of an actress, but she sure does look great in the role! The film is currently shooting in Iceland where they are shooting scenes for Aquaman’s hometown of Amnesty Bay.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The movie also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher. The movie opens in theaters on November 17, 2017. Below you'll find some additional information about Mera for those of you who aren't really familiar with her:

She rules the seas alongside Aquaman, one of the most well-known heroes in the world, and stands as one of the most powerful women in the DC Universe. Her name is Mera and you don't want to get on this quick-tempered beauty's bad side because she won't hesitate to kick your butt across all seven seas.
A princess of the underwater kingdom of Xebel who possesses enhanced strength, durability and the ability to bend water to her will, Mera trained since birth for her ultimate mission: to kill the current King of Atlantis in retaliation for her people's exile. Mera knew that to do this, she’d have to gain Aquaman’s trust. It was the only way she could get close enough to kill him. But as she got to know Aquaman, something unexpected occurred—she fell in love. And thus began the fiery redhead's constantly conflicted sense of being. To stand beside her husband is to betray her family and her people, but to give them what they want, to fulfill her mission, is something her heart would never allow her to do.
Although a hero in her own right, Mera often finds herself struggling between two worlds—whether it’s between her own people and her husband or between those of the surface and those of the sea. Her aggressive nature especially puts her at odds with the surface world, a world so much bigger and more complex than she was ever taught and with whom she finds it impossible to relate to and understand. It’s for her love of Aquaman that she even attempts to understand this world of man, and why she continues to try to be a part of both worlds while terrified of belonging to none.

Is This LOGAN Photo Teasing The Inclusion of Arcade, Another Mutant Villain?

If you're a fan of Wolverine and you aren't following the official wponx account for the upcoming film Logan on Instagram, you're missing out on some interesting teases — including one that just went live a couple of hours ago.

ComicBookMovie points out that this newly-shared image, captioned simply "Prom," might be revealing the film's inclusion of the Marvel mutant Arcade, a white suit-wearing gamemaster who created elaborate death traps for his victims. You can read much more about that character here, but I'm not convinced that we've seen enough from just this photo to come to the conclusion that he's appearing in the movie, especially when we've already heard so much else about the plot and the players involved in the larger story. What do you think?

Regardless, major props to this dude for doing what may be one of the best pelvic thrusts ever captured in a photo.
