We've featured a ton of great art from Matt Ferguson over the years, including The Avengers box set art. You can see some of the other art we've posted of his here. He just has such a cool style, and today we bring you his latest badass creation... a piece of poster art for Iron Man 3.

The illustration turned out awesome! Blurppy.com, who premiered the art, points out that "3 repulsor rays subtly signify the number 3 for the third installment in the Iron Man franchise."

Hopefully Ferguson decides to sell prints of this design because I'd get one! Make sure to check out the artist's website Cakes and Comics to see more of his fantastic work! What do you think of his Iron Man 3 piece?

Thanks to Don Thompson for the tip!

Halloween Short: Twihard Learns That Vampires Don't Sparkle

Here's a fun 8-minute dose of fright to get you in the Halloween mood. In this short film, "So Pretty", from director Al Lougher, a Twihard (complete with a copy of Twilight in hand) aboard a night train gets a lesson in 'real' vampires and learns first hand that maybe the cursed aren't 'so pretty' after all.

This is a pretty fun little short. I actually wish there was a lot more back and forth between the two characters. There's room for some humor and insight that I think could have been explored. I'm not the biggest fan of Kevin Smith these days, but I think his writing would have shined in a scene like this. It's got a good pay off at the end, which is why I picked a screen shot from early in the short.

Check out "So Pretty" and let us know what you thought of it! This is part of StageFiveTV's Continuum series.

Bond 24 Being Written by John Logan, Sam Mendes May Not Direct

It's no surprise to learn that the 24th James Bond film is already in development. Now that things have been settled with MGM with that whole bankruptcy thing we won't have to wait another four years to see Bond back and kicking ass.

According to Daily Mail Screenwriter John Logan has been hired to write Bond 24, and the plan is to get it into production and start shooting at Pinewood Studios fall of next year so they can release it in the autumn of 2014.

Skyfall hits theaters in the UK today and won't be released in the US until November. It was directed by Sam Mendes, and originally written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who also wrote 1999’s The World Is Not Enough. Logan was brought in later to do a rewrite.

Obviously there's no details on what the next Bond film will be about, but there's a chance that Mendes won't be back to direct another Bond film. He recently told Metro UK,

It’s been a fantastic experience, but it’s been completely exhausting. Do I want to do another one? I’m a shadow of my former self. [laughs] No, I don’t know. I felt like everything I wanted to with a Bond movie, I put into this film. So I would have to be convinced that I could do something that I loved and cared about as much if I was to do it again. I think the great risk of repeating oneself is that one doesn’t have the great store of ideas that you have when you first tackle a project.

I've heard Skyfall is the best Bond film to date, and I hope he comes back to direct it. If not maybe they can get Christopher Nolan. As for Logan, he has written a ton of great movies in his career which include Gladiator, The Aviator, The Last Samurai, Sweeny Todd, Rango, Hugo and the upcoming Noah.

Regardless of who directs, I'm a big fan of Bond, and I can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for us!

THE EXORCIST as an '80s Sitcom

Here's a fun video created by Louis Plamondon a.k.a @sleepyskunk that re-imagines the classic horror film The Exorcist as a 1980's style sitcom. It surprisingly works very well. It's amazing what a little light music and a laugh track can do. I also like that he threw in some vintage '80s commercials. It's kind of like the The Shining sitcom that we posted last month.

Thanks to Louis for sending this video in to us! Check it out!

Christian Bale to Join Johnny Depp in TRANSCENDENCE?

Earlier in the week news hit that Johnny Depp was set to star in a film called Transcendence which was being directed by Christopher Nolan's long time cinematographer Wally Pfister. Nolan is producing the film for the first time director, and there are still no details on what the story is about.

LA Times has a little update on the project revealing that it will shoot in Los Angeles, and that there are three lead roles in the movie. One of which Pfister wants Christian Bale to fill. There's nothing set in stone, but it's not out of the question. It would be very cool to see Depp and Bale working alongside each other again, I hope this happens. They didn't share much screen time together in Public Enemies.

There's a lot of talent behind this film project, which was scripted by newcomer Jack Paglen. I hope the story turns out to be awesome. What do you think about the possibility of Depp and Bale working together again?

We'll keep you updated as more information on the project becomes available.

Jon Chu Talks G.I. JOE: RETALIATION 3D and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon Chu recently did an interview with MTV in which he talks about the film's 3D conversion, as well as the other 1980's film project he's working on, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

I really want to push how we use the 3-D. Especially since we pushed the movie date, I want to fulfill the promise to the fans that the 3-D will be great, and enhances the experience of the movie. So every step of the way, I’m in that room, watching… It’s hurting my eyes, but we’re getting it better, and pushing it further.

I'm not the biggest fan of 3D conversion, even with big films like The Avengers, it was actually kind of pointless. It's not like 3D makes the movie better. It just costs us more to go see it. Here he talks about working with 3D on his previous film Step Up 3D and the Justin Bieber 3D doc and how that helped.

So being around that (Shooting 3-D), I know what we are actually capable of doing. If we had shot it in 3-D, there’s a lot of things that we would shot in a 3D way. Fortunately, a lot of our shots, I guess it was in my brain anyway. We had a lot of depth in our shots, or let our shots play longer. For me, if we’re going to do this, we have to make sure it enhances the experience. That’s where we are right now, and it’s a slow painful process, to be honest!

He goes on to admit that there's still a few more things he's changing, in fact he wants to shoot some more stuff in 3D,

I’m trying to convince them to give me a couple days to do a couple of enhancements. But as of right now, we’ll see what they let me do. I really want to shoot some of the sections in 3-D to give it that edge… But we’ll see if time permits, and they’re down to do that.

The film is actually finished, but apparently this will give it a little more pop. I was excited for the new G.I. Joe movie! I was a bit disappointed that it didn't get released this summer -- when it was supposed to. Now I'm all worried the movie is going to suck. I hope it doesn't! I've just been hearing so many negative things. Now on to Masters of the Universe!

I’m really excited about that one! We’re really early in the process… We’re working on the script, to make it better and stronger. We’re designing a bunch of stuff. I learned on Joe that to make it right, you have to do a lot of experimenting first, and you have to trust that during the process you’ll find where the tonal line is… It’s so delicate.

As far as casting goes for the movie, Chu has no idea yet.

A lot of people ask, who are you going to cast? We’re not even there yet, we’re just trying to get the character of the movie down. This is one of the most fun parts, where all the possibilities are open, and we’re just playing in the sandbox.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is scheduled to hit theaters on March 29th, 2013. Are any of you still excited for G.I. Joe, or has that just faded away?

Best Baby Halloween Costume Goes to... This Kid's DeLorean Push Cart

'Wait a minute, Dad. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a DeLorean... out of a push cart?' No, this isn't a sequel to Back to the Future where Doc Brown figures out how to build time machines inside the human body making Marty McFly younger -- though, that's just a stupid enough idea that Hollywood might make it. *sssshhhh*

This is lil' Cooper, who just may have the coolest Halloween costume thanks to the creativity of his mom Cody. Not bad for Cooper's first Halloween, eh?

Theses photos show all the impressive details put into this modded out kid's push cart, complete with the "OUTATIME" license plate and modern dates on the control board sending this kid back to 1985. Cody's husband Jeremy added some sweet looking EL lights, and voilà! The only thing missing from the DeLorean? The Flux Capacitor! Not that anyone would see it, since it'd be behind the kid's back, but... how do you expect to time travel without one?

Here's a great new fake commercial for Wreck-it Ralph that focuses on the magical hammer used by Fix-It Felix, Jr. that fixes everything. The new spot fits right in with the other fake ads that have been released including 1982's Fix-It Felix Jr. and 1997's Sugar Rush Speedway, and another one for Hero's DutyThis was such a great movie, and I'm excited for you to see it. It's one of the best animated movies that Disney has made in a long time.

Wreck-It Ralph is set to hit theaters in 3D on November 2nd! Enjoy the latest commercial!

Wreck-It Ralph was directed by Rich Moore (The Simpsons) and will feature the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk, Ed O’Neill, Mindy Kaling, Adam Carolla, Horatio Sanz, Dennis Haysbert, Edie McClurg, Roger Craig Smith, Gerald C Rivers, Rachael Harris, Stefanie Scott, Reuben Langdon and Kyle Hebert

Here's the synopsis:

Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore (TV's "The Simpsons," "Futurama") take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in "Wreck-It Ralph." Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly, "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," "Step Brothers") is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer, "30 Rock"), the "good guy" star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he's tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he's got what it takes to be a hero.

On his quest, he meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch, TV's "Glee") from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty. But it’s the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman, "The Sarah Silverman Program") from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it’s too late?

Next 2 James Bond Films will Tell One Story

Earlier today we learned that John Logan would be writing the 24th James Bond film, but apparently he's also writing Bond 25 as well, and the two films will tell a single story. Looks like we're in for one hell of a James Bond epic!

According to Deadline he's already started writing the scripts. This would be the first time one story has been played out over multiple films in the 007 franchise. I imagine the studios will end up shooting the films back-to-back.

I'm looking forward to seeing what story they end up telling, but if it's covering two films we know it's going to be big. It will be interesting to see a Bond film actually end with a cliffhanger. Logan is a very talented writer that has worked on a ton of great movies in his career such as Gladiator, The Aviator, The Last Samurai, Sweeny Todd, Rango, Hugo and the upcoming Noah.

There's no word on if Sam Mendes will return to direct, but I hope he does. Especially after hearing that he's made the best Bond movie so far.

What do you think about this James Bond news?

SOUTH PARK Does The Avengers

For those of you who missed South Park last night, Matt Stone and Trey Parker "dressed up" as Kyle, Cartman, Stan and Kenny as The Avengers for Halloween in the episode "A Nightmare of Face Time". Here's a couple of screenshots showing them off in costume. In case you missed it, head on over to South Park Studios now to watch the episode!

Here's the synopsis for the episode:

The boys are all ready to dress up as their favorite foursome, the Avengers, for Halloween. After months of planning their costumes, at the last minute Randy tells Stan he can’t go trick or treating with his friends. Instead, Stan has to pitch in and help his father with a new business venture.

Paul Thomas Anderson Is A Fan of Nolan's Batman Films

Here's a cool little morsel for fans of Paul Thomas Anderson. The director of The Master, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and more has spoken out about Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, and surprisingly, he's a fan. Cigarettes and Red Vines has a transcript of a recent PTA interview (via Slashfilm) in which he said:

I’ve never really been asked to do [big tentpole blockbusters]. You look at what Christopher Nolan did with Batman, that’s like the meeting of the highest level of artistic skill & a kind of commerciality and appeal to a wide range of people which is what anybody would want. It’s kind of unparalleled actually, and they don’t come to me with those. And that’s alright.

Interesting. It seems like Anderson almost wishes that a studio would offer him a big project like that, but if he did take on a blockbuster tentpole, I can't imagine how it would end up. That's part of the reason everyone was so excited to see a Darren Aronofsky-directed version of The Wolverine before it eventually went to 3:10 to Yuma director James Mangold. How do guys who have made mostly arthouse pictures reconcile those sensibilities with big budgets and superhero storylines? Nolan has arguably done it best, and it's cool to hear that PTA recognizes the artistry in the work of his peer without acting pretentious and pretending like superhero films are below him in some way.

But hey, now that Nolan is stepping down from the director's chair in the Batman franchise, the slot is currently vacant. What do you think about the concept of Paul Thomas Anderson directing the next Batman movie?

Jean-Claude Van Damme Kills Aliens In UFO Trailer

The international trailer for a film called UFO has unleashed its low budget fury on the interwebs. Airborne's Dominic Burns directed the indie sci-fi flick that stars Bianca Bree, Sean Brosnan, Simon Phillips, Julian GloverSean Pertwee and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Synopsis:

It started with a blackout, all power and communications down. Hours later city sized UFOs invade the world's skies. Then the war began...

Five friends attempt to navigate their way to survival amidst deteriorating chaos as the world descends into terror and anarchy during an alien invasion and interstellar war.

This story line has been overused, and I don't think that Van Damme is enough to interest me. Do you think this looks like a film you want to see when it hits theaters next year?
