Cool Set of VOLTRON Character Art By Josh Burns

Artist Josh Burns created this cool series of Voltron character art. The goal of the artist was to paint the Voltron pilots in a more realistic style than the cartoons. It’s interesting seeing the characters reimagined in this style. They definitely have a bit more personality than the cartoon versions of the characters. The characters you see here include Princess Allura, Commander Keith, Lance, Pidge, Sven, Hunk, King Zarkon, and Queen Merla. Maybe one day we’ll actually see this cartoon adapted into a feature film.

Watch Teens React to Using Windows 95

The Fine Bros. have released a fun new “Teens React” video that features young teens attempting to use an old Dell computer with Windows 95. This video reminds me that we were basically living in the Stone Age of technology not too long ago. Technology has come such a long way. It will be interesting to see where it all is 20 years from now. Will we be looking at at the computers we work on today and think, “I can’t believe we used such primitive devices,” and be asking ourselves, “How did we even function!?” It’s pretty incredible to see how far we’ve come so fast, and it’s fun to watch these teens trying to figure out how to use the computer tech that a lot of us grew up with.

Amanda Seyfried Cast in Clive Owen’s Sci-Fi Film ANON

According to Screen Daily, actress Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2, While We’re Young) has joined Clive Owen (The Knick, Children of Men) in the upcoming dystopian sci-fi thriller Anon, which comes from writer and director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca). This isn’t he first time that Seyfried has worked with Niccol, as the two worked on the futuristic film In Time together.

Anon focuses on a detective (Owen) who lives in a future world where privacy and anonymity have been completely eliminated. He ends up coming across a woman (Seyfried) who has no digital footprint, and it leads him on the trail of a bigger crime in the works.

I’m a big fan of all the talent involved with this film production, and it makes me believe that this film is going to turn out great.

Seyfried is currently shooting David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival for Showtime, and is also set to star in The Last Word opposite Shirley MacLaine.

Nicolas Cage Set to Direct and Star in VENGEANCE: A LOVE STORY

Nicolas Cage has signed on to direct and star in a new film called Vengeance: A Love Story. This wouldn’t be the first time that Cage has directed a movie. In 2002, he directed James Franco in a movie called Sonny.

The new film project is based on a novel written by Joyce Carol Oates called Rape: A Love Story. Cage will play Detective John Dromoor in the film, “who is asked to help a woman named Teena, who is gang-raped over the Fourth of July weekend. Teena's daughter, who witnessed the attack, asks the detective to help her when it seems that her mother's attackers may be getting away with it when the lawyers put the focus on Teena's credibility, based on her sobriety and sexual promiscuity.” Harold Becker was previously set to direct, but now Cage has taken over.

This sounds like it will be a pretty heavy movie. Rape is one of those subjects that tends to make a lot of people uncomfortable. It could prove to be a powerful story, though. Cage had this to say in a statement:

“I'm excited to work on Vengeance: A Love Story and bring Joyce Carol Oates’ bittersweet novel to the screen. Storytelling has always been my passion and I'm honored to work with this talented team to tell a tale of the suffering too many women have endured.”

I really didn’t think that Sonny was a good film, but maybe Cage has improved as a director. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. The script comes from John Mankiewicz and it will start shooting on April 4 in Atlanta.

Here’s a must-watch compilation of the best Japanese commercials that were released in 2015. I’ve gotta say, these are completely wild and extremely entertaining. I wish we got commercials like these in the States! Our commercials are just so damn boring compared to this crazy greatness. The collection includes the most badass commercial for a bank that I've ever seen! Now excuse me while I go and eat some Cup Noodles.

Marvel's LUKE CAGE Series is Set to Premiere in September

Netflix and Marvel Entertainment have announced that they will unleash their Luke Cage series later this year on September 30, 2016! The hero for hire made his debut in Jessica Jones and I thought Mike Colter's portrayal of him was spot-on perfection. It will be exciting to see where they take the character and how they build him as they bring him into his own solo series.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Luke Cage is a badass hero protecting the streets of Hell's Kitchen. He possesses superhuman strength and impenetrable skin. In the comics, he's teamed up with Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist, who will also be getting his own series in the near future.

Colter will be joined by Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Rosario Dawson will be back to reprise her role as Claire Temple.

Colter made the announcement himself in the video below at the 2:09 mark.

Square Enix's BATMAN V SUPERMAN Superman and Wonder Woman Action Figures Revealed

We’ve already seen Square Enix’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Batman action figure. Now we have a couple new ones featuring Wonder Woman and Superman. These are part of the Play Arts Kai line, and this is a great looking figure!

The 10' Wonder Woman figure features several points of articulation like the rest of the toy line, and as you can see, the likeness of the figure is pretty close to actress Gal Gadot. The figure also comes with a variety of accessories, including four interchangeable hands, sword, shield, and, of course, her iconic lasso.

The chest and cape of the Superman figure features flexible materials, creating a wide range of motion. “Square Enix has paid special attention to the fine details, keeping close accuracy to the design of the character in the film, such as the small Kryptonian insignia etched into the waist of his suit.” His accessories include interchangeable hands, and a face piece that features his powerful heat vision.

Superman can already be pre-ordered here, and Wonder Woman will be released sometime in July for around $140.

Mel Gibson’s Character Cast in The New LETHAL WEAPON TV Series

Fox is currently developing a small screen adaptation of the classic action-comedy film franchise Lethal Weapon. Why? I don’t know! I guess they think it’ll be good or something. THR reports that the network has cast 24 alum Clayne Crawford in the role that Mel Gibson played in the films. He will star opposite Damon Wayans Sr. in the drama pilot.

The report offers some details on the story, explaining that the series kicks off when “Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby.” After that he moves to Los Angeles to start a new life. It’s there that he “gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (Wayans Sr.), who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.”

The series is being created by Matt Miller, who previously worked on series such as Chuck and Forever. Miller brought in McG (Terminator Salvation) to direct the pilot episode, so you know…this should be good. Who knows, Chuck had a nice run, so maybe Lethal Weapon will as well.

One thing is for sure: Clayne Crawford is no Mel Gibson.

Kylo Ren was a great addition to the Star Wars universe. He’s a disturbed individual, which makes for great villain material. Well, YouTuber Dane Boe thought it would be fun to incorporate the character into several other classic films, and as it turns out he makes a great addition to those movies as well! Some of the movies that the villain was included in are Back to the Future, The Shining, Dirty Harry, Pulp Fiction, 300, Terminator 2, Anchorman, and more.

J.J. Abrams Says PORTAL and HALF-LIFE Movies Are Still in Development

$

Back in 2013 J.J. Abrams announced that he was developing feature film adaptations of the video game franchise's Portal and Half-Life. Bad Robot and Valve are teaming up to make these films happen, but there’s been no information on the projects since that announcement at the D.I.C.E. Conference that year. If you were excited by that news, you’ll be happy to hear that the films are actually still in development! While talking to IGN, Abrams was asked about the projects and he told them:

“Not yet, but they’re in development. And we’ve got writers, and we’re working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update.”

It’s exciting enough to know that they aren’t dead and that Abrams is still in the process of bringing these stories to life. We don’t know who is helping develop these projects, but I think it’s safe to assume that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg is working on Portal. After all, he directed a fantastic short film based on the game that helped land him the 10 Cloverfield Lane directing gig.

If you think about it, Abrams probably gave him the opportunity to direct 10 Cloverfield Lane as a way to help fine-tune his directing skills and get him some experience making a feature length film. Now that he’s done that, and he’s done it well, he's better prepared to take on a bigger film project like Portal

The stories of the two games are not really tied to each other, but they do take place in the same universe. I imagine the movies that are being made will also take place in the same universe.

Half-Life was released in 1998 and follows a theoretical physicist named Gordon Freeman, who opens a dimensional rift that leads to a plane of existence named Xen, which is full of creatures and connects to other dimensions.

Portal was released in 2007, and it follows a test subject named Chell, who is forced to navigate a rival research company’s laboratories armed with a device that can open portals through space while being taunted by a power hungry AI.

Possible Big SPOILER Spotted in New CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer

Well, this just goes to show that no matter how many times a person watches a trailer and combs through it looking for stuff, you can still miss some really big information. Turns out, Marvel may have accidentally let a pretty big SPOILER slip. The scene happens so fast, and it’s blurred in the screenshot that I previously took of it, but there is something there. I have a clearer version of that shot below. The clip in question starts at the 2:04 mark in the trailer, and if you don’t want this big SPOILER pointed out to you, then stop reading!

The scene features Captain America and Iron Man in the heat of battle. This is the scene where Winter Soldier is involved with the fight as well. We saw a badass clip of that in the first trailer for the film. Well, it doesn’t look like Winter Soldier makes it out of the fight in one piece.

As you can see in the screenshot below, Bucky is laying on the ground behind Captain America with his metallic arm having been completely torn off. I don’t think Bucky is dead or anything, but it shows us how his brutal fight with Iron Man seemingly ends. He has been completely laid out, and Cap is pissed!

New Netflix VOLTRON Series Lands LEGEND OF KORRA Talent as Showrunners

Earlier this year we learned that Netflix was developing a new Voltron animated series called Voltron: Legendary Defender. We got a teaser poster for the series last month, and it seemed to spark some excitement among fans of the franchise. The series has taken a positive step forward that might get you a little bit more excited.

According to Nerdist, the streaming service has hired The Legend of Korra associate producer Lauren Montgomery and Legend of Korra director Joaquim Dos Santos to be the showrunners on the series. That was one of the most well-made and popular animated series in recent memory, so it’s great that they brought in this kind of talent. They also both worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender and various DC animated projects.

There are still no other details regarding what we can expect from the series, but I’m expecting greatness. Fans would not accept anything less. We will learn more about the series in a couple of weeks at WonderCon where a panel will be held.

The Voltron: Legendary Defender panel will take place on Friday, March 25th, in Room 151, from 6:00 – 7:00pm. Dos Santos, Montgomery, writer Tim Hedrick (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender), and other unannounced special guests will be in attendance.

The series seems like it is in good hands, and I'm excited to learn more about what this talented team of people plan on doing with it.

Video: Stephen Amell Gets Roasted By Young Felicity Smoak Fan

I always love it when kids go up and ask questions at convention panels. Nine times out of ten they're the wild card question you don't expect, or they help you remember the childlike wonder that led you to where you are now. I experienced both when a young fan cosplaying Felicity Smoak stepped up at Heroes & Villains Fanfest to ask some hard questions about Arrow. Before she knew it she was pulled up on stage and confronted by Stephen Amell himself! I don't think he knew what he was getting into!

It was a very cool moment, and it is always cool to see celebrities interacting with young fans. Thanks to Arrow TV12 for recording! Slight spoilers if you aren't caught up on the series!

Daredevil and Elektra Team Up to Fight in New DAREDEVIL Season 2 Clip

Marvel has released an action-packed new clip from season two of Daredevil for our enjoyment. This is easily the best clip I’ve seen from the upcoming series as it features Daredevil and Electra teaming up in battle a group of villainous thugs. These two are going to have a complicated relationship, but it looks like they get along really well in the clip you’re about to watch.

The clip is followed by an interview with Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson. If you're excited about this season, this clip is going to get you even more pumped up! I also included a new low-res promo spot featuring Daredevil, Electra, and The Punisher in action.

Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios. Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.

The series hits Netflix on March 18th!

Stephen Amell: "An ARROW Movie Would — Should — Be Rated R"

Photo Courtesy of Heroes & Villains Fan Fest

When asked his opinion of the R-rated superhero movie trend, Stephen Amell pulled no punches Saturday at Chicago's Heroes and Villains Fest. The conversation started when a fan asked him what villain he would like to see for a potential (eventual) Arrow feature film. His response was pretty interesting...

"It'd be great if it were, like, a parade of villains...but overall I think it would have to be Deathstroke right?"

That first part of the response was interesting considering the shelved script for a Green Arrow film years ago that had the Green Arrow running through a gauntlet of foes in Iron Heights. Perhaps Amell is familiar with it? He kind of ran with the question at that point and really got into what he would want for a film:

"We get compared to Daredevil a lot and I love that...I always think of the things we could do if we had THEIR freedom. If we had the ability to cut off heads and show it? I absolutely would. I think an Arrow film would — SHOULD — be rated R."

He then went on to how he loved Deadpool and loves that it's opened the table for more R-rated hero films. He even gave an interesting little connection between the film and the show:

"All the stunt people who die on the bridge scene? They're all literally the same people I kill in season one of the show! It's crazy."

I'm not at all wanting every hero film to become rated R. I did however get a little excited when I heard Amell say this! I know that Arrow has evolved throughout the course of the show... but sometimes I miss the intensity of the first season! Are you for the idea of a rated R Arrow?

We've got a great new international TV spot for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for you to watch that offers us some exciting new footage. This is actually a pretty dramatically cut trailer that has some great action in it, including Batman headbutting Superman in the face and more. I have a feeling that the fight between these two characters is just going to end in a draw before they have to team up to take on Doomsday, but we'll just have to wait and see. Batman v Superman hits theaters on March 25th.
