CBS has released five new photos from the upcoming episode of Supergirl called "Solitude." These images offer us our first look at Kara visiting Superman’s legendary Fortress of Solitude, and it looks exactly the way it should look. I'm curious to see what the exterior looks like. Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming episode:

Kara travels to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in hopes of learning how to defeat Indigo (Laura Vandervoort), a dangerous being who can transport via the Internet and who has a connection to Kara’s past. Also, James’s relationship with Lucy reaches a crossroads.

"Solitude" will air on Monday, February 29th and I also included the promo trailer for it below the photos.

Final WOLVERINE Film Will Be Rated R, and Not Because of DEADPOOL

Looks like Wolverine fans will finally get their wish. We've all talked about how badass it would be to actually see an R-rated Wolverine film where the character goes berserker unlike anything he's ever done before. Well, I'm happy to report that's exactly what Fox plans on doing with Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine movie.

Last year at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were treated with a teaser image featuring Wolverine flipping us the bird with his middle claw. That was the first indication that maybe, just maybe, director James Mangold and Hugh Jackman were finally going to go all-out on a Wolverine film.

Now according to THR, inside sources tell them that Wolverine 3 has been designed and planned as an R-rated film from the very beginning "because of the level of violence (and likely language) in the script written by Michael Green."

They say Deadpool didn't play a role in that decision, but I'm sure the film's massive success solidified the R-rating. Mangold starts shooting the movie this month, and it has been rumored for some time now to be based on Mark Millar's Old Man Logan comic series.

Millar was hired by Fox as a consultant on all their Marvel comic properties, so he will be around to help guide this story in the right direction if that is what they actually plan on doing with it. Here's the story description for Old Man Logan to give you a refresher:

Nobody knows what happened on the night the heroes fell. All we know is that they disappeared and evil triumphed and the bad guys have been calling the shots ever since. What happened to Wolverine is the biggest mystery of all. For 50 years, no one has heard hide nor hair from him...and in his place stands anold man called Logan. A man concerned only about his family. A man pushed to the brink by the HULK GANG. A man forced to help an old friend--the blind archer, HAWKEYE--drive three thousand miles to secure his family's safety.

There are obviously going to be some changes to the story. For example, Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier is rumored to be substituting for Hawkeye as Wolverine's traveling companion in the story, which is a great change that I could get behind...again, if it's true. I hope it is!

Wolverine 3 is scheduled to hit theaters March 3rd, 2017. I'm extremely excited to see how this all shakes out!

Updates on HBO Shows From David Fincher, Tom Hanks, Steve McQueen, and More

Earlier this morning, THR published a report about the state of some of HBO's high-profile projects that haven't come to fruition yet, and it contained some good updates for those of us who are curious about those potential shows. You should read the whole piece there, but scroll down if you're looking for a quicker update.

Westworld: Once scheduled for a 2015 release, this ambitious (and expensive) TV adaptation of the Michael Crichton movie shut down production after it became obvious that episodes that were already shot would need additional tweaks before the final edit was complete. Now it might be pushed back all the way until sometime in 2017, because creator/showrunner Jonathan Nolan and writer/EP Lisa Joy are still trying to bank enough scripts beforehand so they don't fall behind when production resumes. (Things are supposed to get back up and running next month.) HBO apparently convinced Nolan — who was reportedly very controlling — to "put aside his ego" and bring on two more producers and two more writers to lighten the load.

Videosyncrasy: This is the latest of many ways to spell David Fincher's show about being a production assistant in the music video industry in the 1980s. That show fell apart after four episodes were already filmed, but HBO reportedly hopes that Fincher will return to resurrect the project, so all hope isn't completely lost for this one yet.

Utopia: Fincher was also set to work on an American adaptation of the British series Utopia with his Gone Girl writer Gillian Flynn. She cranked out a few scripts, Rooney Mara was cast in a lead role, and they were in the middle of rehearsals when HBO pulled the plug due to Fincher's demand that the show have a $100 million budget. The latest information indicates that HBO is going to move forward with this show, but with a different director instead.

Codes of Conduct: 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen's drama, which starred Paul Dano, Rebecca Hall, and Helena Bonham Carter, completed production on the pilot, and the network ordered six episodes...but now they've cancelled the series entirely.

Lewis & Clark: Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt were producers on a six-part series about American explorers Lewis & Clark, but that was shut down last summer when the network "lost faith in director John Curran's vision." Masters of Sex creator Michelle Ashford has been hired to start from scratch on the project, so there's ultimately some hope for this one, too.

That's all for now, but I really hope that Westworld turns out to be worth the wait. There's so much potential there. Fingers crossed.

Maybe you remember this, maybe you don't, but back in 1999, before the word "viral" was even used in an Internet context, there was this song. The Picard Song is a thing of internet beauty. It's captivating in the way Jean Luc's spherical and glossy head is. I'm building it up too much...just watch an relive the pre-Y2K magic.

Michael B. Jordan to Star in Remake of THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR

I'm sure Michael B. Jordan is thanking the acting gods for Creed right about now. That well-received film has washed away the bad taste Fantastic Four left in audiences' mouths, and Jordan himself is once again a star on the rise. He hasn't decided what his first post-Creed movie is going to be yet, but THR reports that he's just lined up a new project that's in the early stages: a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.

The original film came out in 1968 and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, and Hollywood already remade it once in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. I could tell you about the plots of these movies, but it's much more fun to watch the trailers for both films and see how marketing changed across that thirty year span:

Jordan is set to star, but no writer or director has joined the project yet. This will be a reunion between the actor and Creed distributor MGM, which I understand has him lined up for a sequel with or without original director Ryan Coogler. Since Coogler has moved on to direct Black Panther for Marvel and MGM has set a November 2017 release date for Creed II, the studio will need to bring in another director to make that date. Depending on the shooting schedule, Jordan might be able to fit another movie in before it gets underway, but since The Thomas Crown Affair doesn't have a writer or director attached yet, it's incredibly unlikely it'll be this one.

Watch: 400 Films That Break The Fourth Wall

In honor of Deadpool, a film that breaks the fourth wall almost constantly (with varying degrees of success), The Video Shop created a supercut of around 400 movies that break the fourth wall and directly address the audience. It's one of those things where you know that it's happened a ton of times before in the history of film, but it's still sort of staggering to see the sheer number played out in front of you as you watch them all back to back.

THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS Trailer: Fassbender and Vikander in a Heartwrenching Period Drama

Derek Cianfrance, the director who brought us Blue Valentine, is back to toy with our emotions yet again in The Light Between Oceans, his film adaptation of M.L. Stedman's best-selling novel. Michael Fassbender plays a lighthouse keeper who, along with his wife (Alicia Vikander), discovers a baby adrift at sea. They raise the little girl as their own, only to find out years later that her mother (Rachel Weisz) might still be alive.

This looks like the sort of classic studio dramas that we don't see very often anymore, and if this trailer is any indication, we may be talking more about this movie around this time next year when the Oscars roll around again.

The Light Between Oceans hits theaters on September 2.

ZOMBIELAND 2 is Apparently Still in Development

$

Nearly seven years after Zombieland was released, Zombieland 2 is still in development at Sony Pictures. Man, the studio really won't let this idea die, will they? (Pun totally intended.)

Original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are riding high from the success of Deadpool right now, spoke on The Q&A Podcast about how they're still attached to a sequel:

“It’s actually still in development at Sony, they’ve had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can and I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right. I think all the actors and [Zombieland director] Ruben [Fleischer] all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right.”

I thought the first movie was enjoyable, but I definitely haven't been clamoring for a sequel — frankly, it's one of those movies that I haven't thought about very much at all since I first saw it. The Expendables writer David Callaham was hired to write Zombieland 2 a couple of years ago, after a failed attempt to turn the property into a TV series at Amazon.

It's probably better to just leave this would-be franchise as a single original movie and move on to something else, especially now that so much time has passed. But maybe that's just me. Do you agree, or would you be happy seeing a Zombieland sequel make it to the big screen?

HAMILTON Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in Talks For Emily Blunt's MARY POPPINS Sequel

$

When Hamilton won at the Grammys last week, it only increased my jealousy for anyone who has already seen it in person. The Broadway sensation was created by (and stars) Lin-Manuel Miranda, and even though he's popped up in movies and TV shows before, the success of the musical means that he's poised for breakout stardom. Variety reports that he's one step closer to becoming a household name, since he's in talks to star in Disney's Mary Poppins sequel opposite Emily Blunt.

If the deal goes through, Miranda will play Jack, a lamplighter character similar to Dick Van Dyke's Bert from the original 1964 movie, and he's expected to contribute to the music as well. Here's a quick breakdown of the premise:

The story is set in Depression-era London and revolving around a now-grown Michael Banks, who has children of his own. In tough times, big sister Jane returns and soon after, their beloved Mary Poppins comes back to help.

It should be noted that Miranda already has some Disney connections: he contributed some music to the cantina scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and he's working on the music for the animated film Moana.

Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Smash) are writing new original songs and the film's score, while David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi) is writing the screenplay. All of this would probably go over a lot better with me if Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods) weren't directing, but I'm worried about this because of his involvement. I've never really liked one of his films, so despite being a mega-fan of Emily Blunt, I don't have a lot of faith in this project.

All The Times David Schwimmer Says "Juice" on THE PEOPLE V. O.J. SIMPSON

$

I watched the first three episodes of The People v. O.J. Simpson before giving up on the show. Personally, I find it to be the TV equivalent of trainwreck internet writing that's just sensational enough to get clicks, and I imagine producer Ryan Murphy and the creators sitting back and drumming their fingertips together, laughing maniacally and growing a little more powerful every time someone watches it or mentions it on social media. (And yes, of course I'm aware that me not watching the show has absolutely zero bearing on their lives or how well the show will do in the ratings.)

On one hand, I'm playing into their hands by even writing this, but on the other, we need to talk about David Schwimmer's performance as Robert Karda— you know what, no. I'm not even going to type out that character's full last name, because that family doesn't need any more ink devoted to them. But Schwimmer is CONSTANTLY referring to Cuba Gooding Jr.'s O.J. Simpson as "Juice," which, to be fair, was the real guy's actual nickname. But even before I gave up and tuned out, the amount of times Schwimmer used that nickname felt borderline absurd.

YouTuber Nicholas Martin edited together a supercut of all the times he's said "Juice" so far, and as you'll see, it's a staggering number considering it's only been four episodes:

Steven Spielberg Casts Tye Sheridan as The Lead in READY PLAYER ONE

$

Steven Spielberg's big screen adaptation of Ready Player One has taken a big step forward with the casting of actor Tye Sheridan in the lead role. He plays the character Wade Watts in the story and he joins Olivia Cooke, who also nabbed another lead role, and Ben Mendelsohn, who was previously cast as Nolan Sorrento.

Sheridan made his feature film debut in the 2011 Terrence Malick-directed The Tree Of Life. Since then he starred opposite Matthew McConaughey in the film Mud, and he's is playing Cyclops in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. He's a talented young actor who is a great choice to take on the role of Wade. Spielberg has always been great at casting his movies.

The film is based on the book written by Ernest Cline, and with Spielberg on board, you can bet your ass this movie is going to be awesome! Here's the description of the book:

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, READY PLAYER ONE is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.
It’s the year 2044, and the real world is an ugly place.
Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes his grim surroundings by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that lets you be anything you want to be, a place where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets.
And like most of humanity, Wade dreams of being the one to discover the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this virtual world. For somewhere inside this giant networked playground, OASIS creator James Halliday has hidden a series of fiendish puzzles that will yield massive fortune—and remarkable power—to whoever can unlock them.
For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that Halliday’s riddles are based in the pop culture he loved—that of the late twentieth century. And for years, millions have found in this quest another means of escape, retreating into happy, obsessive study of Halliday’s icons. Like many of his contemporaries, Wade is as comfortable debating the finer points of John Hughes’s oeuvre, playing Pac-Man, or reciting Devo lyrics as he is scrounging power to run his OASIS rig.
And then Wade stumbles upon the first puzzle.
Suddenly the whole world is watching, and thousands of competitors join the hunt—among them certain powerful players who are willing to commit very real murder to beat Wade to this prize. Now the only way for Wade to survive and preserve everything he knows is to win. But to do so, he may have to leave behind his oh-so-perfect virtual existence and face up to life—and love—in the real world he’s always been so desperate to escape.
A world at stake.
A quest for the ultimate prize.
Are you ready?

Hell yeah, I am! The film arrives in theaters on March 30, 2018.

We caught our first glimpse of Ant-Man's new costume in the Super Bowl spot for Captain America: Civil War. We now have our first look at an action figure that offers us a full on frontal view of the costume, and it has a great, slick look.

The image comes from ToyArk, who reveals that that the figure is 6” tall and will include a 1.5 CM tall Ant-Man figure as well. Pre-orders will start on March 1st, with a release set for July. The figure will be priced at $55 USD.

Ant-Man is going to add some fun comic relief to this dark story along with Spider-Man, and I'm excited to see how he'll actually be utilized in the overall story arc.

With the new Ghostbusters movie coming out we are going to see all kinds of crazy tie-in promo items. We've already heard that Ecto-Cooler will be making a comeback, and now we've learned that Hostess is getting into the action with slime filled Twinkies! Of course, it's not really slime, it's green-colored cream that has a Key Lime flavor. That seems like it would be nasty, but I might give it a try.

This promotion was revealed on ENM Sales & Services Twitter feed, and it makes sense that a Twinkie would be used! I'm sure you all remember Egon trying to explain his data that there's something big on the horizon using a Twinkie. Now imagine a Twinkie that measures 35 feet long and weighs 600 pounds.

There's no word on when the Key Lime Slime Twinkie will be released, but it's sure to happen before the movie, which comes out on July 15th.
