Awesome Mega Man Fan Art From Xavier Garcia

Xavier Garcia was kind enough to share this Mega Man fan art he did for the Udon comics Mega Man Tribute book and I'm glad he did, CUZ I LOVE MEGA MAN BRO!

For real though Mega Man should be right up there alongside Mario and Sonic when it comes to classic video game icons...then again this band might argue he already is.

One thing I never understood though...why were all the villains (and Mega Man for that matter) referred to as men? Is it just a cruel joke to antagonize every Android who's dared dream of a human existence? You tell me.

Screen Gems' has released a collection of new photos for Underworld: Awakening once again featuring a very badass, hot, and leathery Kate Beckinsale

I've enjoyed all of the Underworld movies, and this next film in the franchise looks like it's going to be awesome. Underworld Awakening hits 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on January 20th.

Here's the Synopsis:

Underworld: Awakening brings a stunning new dimension to the epic battle between Vampires and Lycans, as the first film in the franchise to shoot in 3D.

Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

The Girl With The Tramp Stamp Tattoo - Comedy Short

Here's a fun comedy short from Funny or Die called The Girl With The Tramp Stamp Tattoo, which stars Emma Roberts and Joe Manganiello. I think it goes without saying that this is a parody trailer of David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I really like the movie, unfortunately I don't think it's going to make the kind of money the studio needs it to make. Enjoy the parody!

How to Speak Wookiee - Book Demo Video

Here's a video demo of a fun looking Star Wars inspired book called How to Speak Wookiee. This might be perfect for any of you looking to learn; I'm just not sure exactly how it's supposed to teach you. It will still be fun for the kids regardless. Although, it might get really annoying having the kids running around the house growling like Wookiees all day.

Here's the description of the book:

With intergalactic travel easier than ever, Wookiees can now be found on nearly every planet in the galaxy and on starships everywhere in between. This helpful guide teaches citizens of the galaxy key phrases in the Wookiee language, eliminating near-fatal encounters with notoriously short-tempered Wookiees while smoothing the way to lasting partnerships and friendships. The handy sound module—recorded by Chewbacca himself!—demonstrates proper pronunciation of ten key phrases.

Check out the demo video below and let us know what you think!

Damon Lindelof Discusses the PROMETHEUS Trailer

$

0

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof recently gave an interview to Hero Complex to discuss the trailer for Ridley Scott's highly anticipated sci-fi film Prometheus and what it all means. I'm surprised that even after the teaser trailer was released for this movie people are still unsure on weather or not Prometheus is actually a prequel to Alien or not. For me all signs point to yes, especially the fact that the Space Jockey is right there clear as day. I just don't understand how some people are still unclear about this, I guess maybe it's just us fanboys and fangirls that get it. I understand that there's still a lot of unanswered questions about the story, but there is most definitely a connection between the two films.

Here's what Lindelof had to say about it...

One part of me sort of wants to be working on something where I can say, ‘This is exactly what this is’ without being secretive or mysterious but I think that with the genesis of this a couple of years ago — when Ridley announced that he wanted to make an ‘Alien’ prequel — that’s where this began and where it’s evolved to is this conversation: Is it or isn’t it [an 'Alien' prequel]? And I think this little sort of dance that we’re doing basically existed prior to anybody seeing anything.  Now that people are seeing stuff I think the material kind of speaks for itself. If you’re looking at it through the prism of ‘I want it to be that,’ you’ll notice the way the word ‘Prometheus’ comes up [in a way that resembles the 'Alien' classic logo] or look at the production design and the way the whole thing feels. If you’re looking at it from the perspective of wanting it to be something more original, I think the trailer accomplishes that by being pretty cool to people who have never even seen ‘Alien.'

It’s accomplishing what we set out to do. I wish that we didn’t have to be so mysterious about it but mystery can be a good thing as long as you’ve got the goods to back it up. In this case, when the movie arrives, one of the most visionary filmmakers in the history of cinema will be putting his cards on the table and I’m just kind of standing behind him with my arms folded.

Lindelof went on to talk about what it was like working with director Ridley Scott saying,

The big surprise has been how collaborative he is.  There are some people that, no matter where you eventually get to in your own career, you’ll always look at them as giants and Ridley is on that very short list for me. Steven Spielberg is on that list and George Lucas is on that list and Ridley is the third part of that holy trinity of filmmakers who made a massive impression on me. When I first got the call that he was looking for someone to come in and take a shot at this, it was overwhelming just to be in the room with the guy. But he really was interested in what I had to say and he really cared about what I had to say; he was really interested in doing something new.

This is a guy that’s been away from this genre for almost 30 years so the idea of coming back to it and just playing the old hits was not really interesting to him. He wanted to make a new album that [lived up to the U2 collection] ‘Joshua Tree,’ but had an entirely different vibe to it. The first couple of meetings was me just sitting there listening to him talk so I could get a sense of what he wanted to do and there were some out-of-body experiences  at subsequent meetings where I realized, ‘I’m talking right now and Ridley Scott is listening to what I have to say and this stuff might actually end up getting directed by him.’ It was pretty trippy.

That must have been one hell of a great expereince for Lindelof! How awesome would that have been!? I for one can't wait to see what Prometheus actually turns out to be, I'm excited to see this sci fi story unfold before my eyes on the big screen. I can only imagine it's going to be spectacular and everything we hoped it would be. What are your thoughts on what Lindelof had to say in this interview?

Batman Inspired Kevlar Utility Gauntlet with iPhone Dock

Here we have a wonderfully awesome Batman inspired utility gauntlet made from Kevlar. The guntlet was created by ArmStar and includes a dock for your iPhone, a built in stun gun, a 720p wireless camera, and a flashlight. As cool as this is, would you actually wear this thing around town? You might not, but the creators are hoping law enforcement and homeland security will. The other crazy this about this product is that actor Kevin Costner is actually an investor and sponsor for it!

Here's some more information of the product from the official site:

ArmStar is dedicated to providing the future of self-defense in the form of a wearable, hands-free, less than lethal system that includes an Electronic Deterrent (ED) that produces a loud crackling electric arcing sound from the electrodes that can, as an electronic control device (ECD), also apply an electric shock to the aggressor for pain compliance applications. Other options, such as cameras and flash lights, will assist in evidence collection and dissuading the opponent from escalating the situation by recording video evidence.  These options form an Aggregated Technology Deterrent (ATD) to minimize the likelihood of escalation.  Armstar will provide these new devices to law enforcement, homeland security, and DoD professionals for a wide range of applications.

Inspired by the events of a mountain lion attack in Orange County California (see “The Story”), inventor David Brown developed the wearable device to protect people from being attacked. As a camera operator, David was working with actor Kevin Costner, now partner and co-owner in Armstar. The design of the invention attracted other luminaries such as John Bunnell, featured in the TV series “Cops”. Over the past several years, the BodyGuard has evolved into a platform system that can be worn for personal protection and includes a variety of modules to meet the needs of military and law enforcement reminiscent of the fictional representations in “Robocop” or “Iron Man”. However, this product was not invented for the movies, but rather to save lives and is now available for purchase.

What do you all think about this thing?

My 10 Most Anticipated Films of 2012

$

2011 is about to come to a close and as I am prepping my Top 10 list of movies of the last year I decided to take a break and share my Top 10 most anticipated film of 2012. Next year looks like an amazing year of movies and there are a ton of great films being released including one of my most anticipated movies of all time, and with that I'll start off with my number one most anticipated film...

1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

This is a film adaptation I've been waiting to see since I first read The Hobbit as a little kid. As big of a fan as I am of The Lord of the Rings, I have always had a much deeper connection with The Hobbit. I'm so happy and excited that Peter Jackson ended up taking the director's chair; there's no doubt he's going to pull off another magnificent Middle Earth story. When I first saw the trailer for this movie, it brought a tear to my eye.

The HobbitAn Unexpected Journey will be released beginning December 14, 2012. Watch the trailer here.

Synopsis:

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

2. The Dark Knight Rises

Who isn't excited about this movie! Even the Bane complainers are excited to see it. As you know, this is sadly Christopher Nolan's last Batman. I'm sad to see it end, but I can't wait to see the epic conclusion because it will be epic. This might end up being the most successful movie event of the year.

The movie is set to hit theaters on on July 20th 2012. Watch the trailer here.

Synopsis:

The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

3. The Avengers

Writer and director Joss Whedon has taken it upon himself to assemble a team of high profile actors all playing popular Marvel superheroes and develop a story and film that needs to balance them all perfectly. I imagine this is not an easy task, but if anyone can pull it off effectively it's Whedon. I've loved everything I've seen of the film so far, and I have a feeling that it will at least live up to what ever our expectations are, maybe even surpass them.

The movie comes out on May 4th 2012. Watch the Trailer here.

Synopsis:

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”–the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron ManThe Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble in summer 2012. In “Marvel’s The Avengers,” superheroes team up to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens global security.

4. Prometheus

Hell yeah! Ridley Scott is returning to the sci-fi genre to give as an origin story to one of the greatest sci-fi horror films ever!? You can count me in! The teaser trailer that was released gave me the chills. It looks great, and I can't wait to see what the actual story will end up being.

The film comes out on June 8th, 2012. Watch the trailer here.

Synopsis:

Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

5. The Hunger Games

This is going to be the next big book to screen franchise. Like Twilight and Harry Potter, The Hunger Games has a huge following of readers, and they're all going to flock to the theaters to see this story epically brought to life on the big screen. Gary Ross is a talented writer and director, and it's got a hell of great cast. I love what I've seen so far, and there's no reason not to be excited about this movie.

The movie is set to be released on March 23rd, 2012. Watch the trailer here.

Synopsis:

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon KilikSuzanne Collins' best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.

6. The Amazing Spider-Man

Regardless of the fact that this is a Spider-Man reboot, I think it looks incredible! I love the style and design of everything. I'm also a big fan of director Marc Webb's previous work, and it looks to me like he's done something special and different with The Amazing Spider-Man. I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised by what they see.

The film comes out on July 3rd, 2012. Watch the trailer here

Synopsis:

Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held... a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.

7. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Abraham Lincoln fighting off vampires! What more do I need to say?

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 22th 2012.

Synopsis:

Abraham LincolnVampire Hunter is a re-imagining of the 16th President's life that depicts him as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires -- an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Lincoln eventually learns that the vampires have fled to the southern states of the U.S. and are concocting a plan to conquer and enslave the entire country -- this in turn leads to the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, the latter of which the vampires are aligned with.

8. Looper

This is the sci-fi film from Brick and The Brothers Bloom director Rian Johnson. I have enjoyed watching all of Johnson's films. They are original slickly scripted films full of great dialogue and fun stories. I'm intrigued by the fact that he's making a sci-fi film, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

The movie comes out on September 28th, 2012.

Synopsis:

Set in the near future, when time-travel is possible but very, very illegal, Looper stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, reteaming with his Brick director, as Joe, a sharp, savvy hitman .

But Joe is no ordinary hitman. The hooded, bound victims he kills are sent back in time from 30 years in the future: he shoots them with a blunderbuss, burns the bodies, and all trace of the crime disappears. Life is pretty good for Joe, until one day a body arrives without a hood: it's his future self, played by Willis. And he's not going down without a fight...

9. Gangster Squad

This period cop and gangster film is coming from Zombieland director Ruben Fleisher and has an incredibly epic cast of actors. I'm a huge history buff, and the true life story that this film is based on is a really good one and should easily make for a great film. This might end up being one of the best movies of 2012.

This film takes place in 1940's Los Angeles and is based on a true story. I've been excited for this project ever since it was first announced, and it's been cool seeing it all come together. The movie has a great director and incredible cast, which includes Sean Penn as real-life mobster Mickey CohenJosh Brolin and Ryan Gosling as the LAPD's Sgt. John O’Mara and Jerry Wooters, and Emma Stone plays Grace Faraday, Cohen's moll and the object of Wooters' attention.

Robert Patrick plays Officer Max Kennard, a deadly cop who patrols the Olvera Street beat. Michael Peña (Battle: Los Angeles) plays Kennard's over-eager sidekick, Navidad Ramirez. Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar) takes on the force's Conway Keeler, an electronics expert who takes as much pleasure in fixing his son's bike as he does tinkering with experimental, military-grade equipment, and Anthony Mackie (The Adjustment Bureau) plays the character Coleman Harris, a switchblade-wielding cop who proudly patrols one of the most crime-ridden areas of the city.

The movie is set to be released on October 19th, 2012.

Synopsis:

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop... except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.

10. Django Unchained

This list wouldn't be complete without Quentin Tarantino's next film adventure. This time the director is taking us deep into the heart of the racist south to dive into the issue of slavery. Tarantino has once again gathered together an amazing cast of actors, and this movie is sure entertain.

The movie comes out on December 25th, 2012.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie FoxxSamuel L. JacksonChristoph WaltzKurt Russell and Don Johnson.

Synopsis:

The story follows Django (Fox), a freed slave, who, under the protection and care of a German bounty hunter (Waltz) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner (DiCaprio). This film also deals with racism and is handled in a way unlike anything we've ever seen in a film before. According to someone that read the script, "it’s a 100 percent pure popcorn and revenge flick, it is pure genius in the way it takes on the evil slave owning south. Think of what he did with the Nazis in Inglorious and you’ll get a sense of what he’s doing with slave owners and slave overseers in this one."

Disney Princesses As Fighting Warriors

$

0

This is yet another collection of Disney Princess-inspired art that reimagines the princesses as different fighting warrior women. This is fun idea for an art series that was executed by DeviantArt artist joshwmc. Check out the collection of art below and tell us what you think.

Cinderella. This was a lot of fun to do coz it gave me an excuse to redo her backstory to turn her into a ninja warrior. I looked at all the promo artwork for Street Fighter 4 and tried to emulate the style of the illustrations whilst also trying to keep the look of the Disney character. I've never really tried doing Manga style artwork before so this was a bit challenging at first but I think it's not too bad for a first effort. Done in Painter and Photoshop in about 6-7 hours.

Rapunzel's new back story is that she's an imprisoned sorceress who manages to escape her solitary confinement. I'm much happier with this one compared to the last one, in fact I think I might go back and fix Mulan coz I wasn't in the right mood when designing that one. I desperately wanted to find a way to add her frying pan but numerous attempts failed to find a solution.

Snow White, possibly the sweetest and most innocent of Disney's leading ladies, so lets give her a complete 180 degree make over. Now she a Lisbeth Salander inspired tough girl who learned her street fighting skills growing up in the decaying suburbs of a desolate city overrun by the Seven Drug Lords.

Ariel. This went through a couple of variations before I finally settled for a sort of coral armour look. Her altered back story is now that Ariel sold her voice to the sea witch to become a fierce human warrior in order to participate in a global fighting tournament.

Jasmine. Her new back story is Jasmine enters a fighting tournament in order to avoid an arranged marriage and prove to her father the Sultan she herself is capable of leading her kingdom. Took a bit of fiddling around to get this one looking right, got all the way to the end before realizing I made her outfit far too green compared to her animated costume which is more cyan, so had to do some colour correcting with Photoshop.

Belle who I've turned into a Muay Thai kick-boxer. Her new back story is Belle turned to self defense after being kidnapped and held hostage when she was younger, she's now a world champion kick-boxer. I actually used a shot of Gina Carano as reference for this which had the right kind of energy I was looking for in a pose.

Pocahontas. In her new back story Pocahontas is an environmental activist and the descendant of a great Powhatan warrior, she enters the fighting tournament to literally fight for nature. This was a bit tricky to get right, spent a while just trying to get the right pose, eventually settling for this stance which i think works well.

Tiana from Princess and the Frog, who altered back story is now she's a military soldier who's entered the fighting tournament to prove she is capable of commanding her own unit. This was the trickiest of the characters so far mostly due to her original dress colour (light green and pale yellow, eeck). Went through 3 alteration and character designs before settling on this military look.

Aurora. Her back story is now she's a professional wrestler called Briar Rose who goes by the in ring name of Aurora. Took me a while to figure out what to do with the character, had ideas for all other characters except her for the longest time. It wasn't until I noticed a resemblance between the character and WWE wrestler Michelle McCool when the idea finally came, so I referenced Michelle for this.

Mulan, given she was already a kick arse warrior to begin with this proved a bit of a challenge to reinterpret her. Ultimately took some ideas from both Chun-Li and Kitana and turned her into an assassin who's a master of disguise. I lost count of how long this took because didn't feel like completing it which resulted in mistakes so I'm not that happy with the final product.

Christina Hendricks To Play Another Sixties Hottie in BOMB

Mad Men's Christina Hendricks plays a sexy sixties lady in AMC's hit drama series and is set to star in a new movie from the same era. The Daily Mail is reporting that Hendricks has joined the cast of Sally Potter’s anti-nuclear movie, Bomb, which is also set in that decade.

The movie focuses on "two teenage rebels, played by Elle Fanning and Alice Englart, who become involved in the Ban the Bomb movement and the sexual revolution." Filming is planned to begin in London this February. The cast also includes Alessandro Nivola, while Annette Bening is considering a role in the movie.

She recently starred in one of my favorite films of the year, Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive opposite Ryan Gosling. While this is not that geeky of a post, the story does sound pretty cool. Hendricks is simply gorgeous, and if you have not watched her in Mad Men you definitely should.

What are your thoughts on this news?

A new image has arrived for Bryan Singer's upcoming revisionist fantasy retelling of Jack the Giant Killer. The image shows Nicholas Hoult as Jack.

Here is the synopsis:

Why The MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL Opening Credits Are Bad For Movies

If you've seen Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and you're an avid spoiler avoider like I am, perhaps you already know where this article is going. In his first live-action film, Brad Bird commits one of the biggest sins a spoiler dodger can dream of: he shows clips of the movie we're about to see during the opening credits, revealing major plot points and hurting the film in the process. This is, plain and simple, a bad sign for the future of movies.

The act of including spoilers in the opening credits isn't anything new for this film series: Brian De Palma chose to include images from his film in the opening credits to the first Mission: Impossible movie back in 1996.

The images above flash by so quickly, the viewer barely has time to recognize what's happening. The montage is meticulously planned, giving nothing away and sometimes slamming two images together that play out in totally different sequences of the film. It's purposefully disorienting, introducing the audience to the mindset of Ethan Hunt: constantly scanning, re-scanning, and processing information. (This isn't the only time De Palma has walked a fine line with spoilers for his own films: in 2002, he took the concept to a ridiculous degree with the trailer for Femme Fatale, which shows the entire movie condensed down to two minutes in one of the most interesting trailers I've ever seen.)

Contrast this with what Bird does in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and there's a clear difference. The images that appear over those opening credits reveal at least one major plot point and give flashes of fight scenes that take place during the film's climax. (To make my point, I have to give away a spoiler for MI:4 now, so skip to the next paragraph if you haven't seen the film.) The most egregious example that I remember here is the decision to show a nuclear warhead launching out of the water. This turns into a big plot point late in the film, with Ethan and company racing to stop the launch from happening. By showing us in the opening minutes that this already happened, it robs the scene of any dramatic tension. We already know it's going to launch, so when it does in the movie and everyone seems shocked, we're already bored and ready to move on to the next scene. It's a disservice to the movie, and a disservice to the audience who paid for it.

Why include the spoilery clips at all? They are interspersed with a pretty cool CGI fuse burning through the titles and set to an interpretation of the iconic Mission: Impossible theme song. Why isn't that good enough? There's no need to "sell" the audience on your movie by showing clips of it--that's what trailers are for. The marketing department has already succeeded by getting us in the theater, so why risk ruining what we've already paid for?

I can already hear the naysayers launching into the comments with defenses like, "you shouldn't come to these movies for the story" and "it's all about the spectacle anyway," but most of the time, those are pretty dismissive arguments. They assume the story and characters aren't worth emotional investment, and you only have to look as far as the most recent interview with any good director to find that many filmmakers actually do care about those elements (or at least they do a good job of pretending to). I doubt you'd ever find this conversation about spoilers in the opening credits taking place around any other genre, but that shouldn't mean that we don't need to take action movie characters or their conflicts at least somewhat seriously. If we're not intended to invest in characters, we may as well be watching a montage sequence of fight scenes and explosions one after another with no story or dialogue.

It could be that I'm blowing this out of proportion. It could be that Mr. Bird was merely paying homage to the first film in this franchise and the television series before it (which, if old YouTube videos are any indication, used this same strategy before each episode). If that's the case, there's a better way to do it - one that doesn't involve robbing the audience of the drama of a story. Show close ups of Tom Cruise running or, if you absolutely have to, choose clips already shown in the trailers that presumably got the audience into the theater in the first place. But if this is the beginning of a new trend in modern action films, our mission (should we choose to accept it, naturally) is to try to do something about it before it contaminates our viewing experiences further. And if all that means is talking about it, let's start the conversation.

Watch This Live Action Luigi's Mansion Short

It's about time someone did this! Luigi's Mansion is highly underrated on the list of best video games in my mind so props to Somewhat Awesome Films for giving the Green Plumber some love!

I would've liked to see more ghosts or maybe Luigi throwing out a few "MARIOs" for good measure, but with scenery mimicking the game and a good scare, who am I to judge?

Or you can just watch footage of the Gamecube original while Rockwell plays "Somebody's Watching Me."
