Rumor: Info About AQUAMAN's Villain, DCEU Diversity, and Much More

$

0

The Jason Momoa-starring superhero film Aquaman isn't slated to arrive in theaters until July 27th, 2018, but some small details are starting to trickle out about the King of Atlantis's solo adventure.

JoBlo has some information about the movie's villain, a major supporting character, and the intent to get some diversity in the cast, but they caution that this is all very early and admit that the plan could still change since director James Wan — who is currently working on The Conjuring 2 — is going to give this movie his full attention after that production wraps up and he could alter a few things here and there. So let's get into it.

(Potential spoilers ahead.)

First up, the villain of the movie is reportedly going to be Ocean Master, Aquaman's human brother. In the comics, Orm Curry resented not having Aquaman's powers and became a petty criminal before he experienced amnesia and disappeared. Years later, he showed up again as Orm Marius and rebranded himself as the Ocean Master, a pirate who created natural disasters to hold the world ransom. In the movie, the two are supposedly going to battle over the throne of Atlantis.

Next, Aquaman's wife Mera is supposedly going to be a major supporting character in the film, likened to female badasses like Game of Thrones' Khaleesi and Mad Max: Fury Road's Furiosa. She may make her first appearance in Justice League: Part 1, and they stress that she's going to fight alongside her husband and be just as much of a hero as he is.

As for the diversity aspect, the studio is looking to cast a "non-white" actress in the role of Mera, which fits with how they cast the non-white Momoa as the titular hero. JoBlo elaborates:

Beyond [Aquaman], you can expect to see the DCEU attempt to win the edge over the MCU in that department as they push to create more opportunities for diverse casting and representation of women/minorities in their burgeoning universe. What this means is more team-up films, rather than solo ones, where they can create a more even spread of representation...
WB is currently looking at a number of ways to expand on that trend, including a possible BIRDS OF PREY movie (recently reported by Latino Review) that would feature an all-female team of superheroes led by the previously reported Black Canary (lining up to be a major player in the DCEU) as well as Batgirl/Oracle, amongst others. A TEEN TITANS film (possibly merged with the CYBORG film in lieu of a solo pic) is also under consideration, as well as the already announced GREEN LANTERN CORPS, which we're told is Hal Jordan and John Stewart in a "Lethal Weapon in space" team-up. There is also discussion about including a gay superhero in the DCEU ranks, although according to my sources it's not something set in stone, but definitely under serious consideration for at least one major character. Any way you slice it, it appears that WB is ready to compete with Marvel in more ways than one, with a diverse universe being a key component.

If all of that is true, the DCEU is about to become a major, major competitor with Marvel Studios. What do you all think about these developments?

Jennifer Lawrence Will Direct PROJECT DELIRIUM: "Like An Acid Experiment Gone Terribly Wrong"

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence already has a hell of a career under her belt at the age of 25, and she's about to add one more title to her impressive resume: Director. In an interview with EW, Lawrence revealed that not only does she want to direct, she's actually already signed on for her directorial debut:

“I’d also like to direct a comedy. I have wanted to direct as long as I’ve wanted to act. I just don’t talk about it because I’d rather just do it.
I’ve signed on to direct something called Project Delirium — it’s based on this article about mental warfare in the ’60s, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong.
It’s funny, I’ve wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready. Now I actually feel ready.”

The article she mentions is this one, an extensive New Yorker piece called Operation Delirium that, as CS puts it, "focuses on the chemical warfare experiments conducted by Colonel James S. Ketchum at the Edgewood military facility in Maryland from 1960 to 1969 in which he tested over 5000 volunteer U.S. soldiers with dangerous 'incapacitating agents' including LSD, BZ and marijuana. The goal was to try to figure out a means to neutralize an enemy without killing them, although most of the Edgewood test subjects were not checked in on in the ensuing years for lasting mental damage caused by the experiments." Sounds like it could go a number of different ways, and managing tone is one of the key components to directing, so we'll see how she does with this material.

Lawrence has worked with some pretty stellar filmmakers so far, including David O. Russell and Bryan Singer, so hopefully she's picked up some skills from them and can put them to good use. I wonder if she'll end up starring in Project Delirium as well as acting it it? I suspect we'll find out soon enough; if she's ready to talk about this movie in the press, it must be fairly far along in the development process.

This also raises another interesting question: given her desire to direct comedies, will she end up directing the film she's currently writing with new pal Amy Schumer? That would be very cool to see.

Celebrate 20 Years of Pixar Movies With This Cool Montage

Ready to feel old? Toy Story, the first fully CG animated feature film, came out twenty years ago this week on November 22nd, 1995. Pixar has actually been around for a lot longer than that — it started in the late '70s as part of Lucasfilm's computer division — but the twentieth anniversary of Toy Story is as good a time as any to look back on the amazing work the company has done so far. Much has been written about the company's full-length movies, but some of you may not know that they were developing short films for years before making the leap into infinity and beyond.

A new video from editor Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr. combines footage from some of those old shorts with Michael Giacchino's score from Up and Andrew Stanton's TED Talk about great storytelling to form a nice tribute to the studio. Check it out below. Thanks to Kees for sending this our way.

Review: Crowd-Pleasing CREED Modernizes The ROCKY Franchise

$

0

One thing to know about Creed is that while the film is definitely a mainstream studio movie, it wasn't some spin-off idea generated by a bunch of number-crunchers in a boardroom at MGM who were looking for new ways to rejuvenate the Rocky franchise. Co-writer/director Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station) came up with the story himself years ago and lobbied to tell it, and while the movie absolutely benefits from the iconography established in the previous films (including Sylvester Stallone himself), there's also an undeniably different perspective at work here, one that's arguably just as personal as Stallone's original script that kicked this whole thing off back in 1976.

Another thing to know about Creed? It's really, really good.

Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Fantastic Four) plays Adonis Johnson, the illegitimate son of Apollo Creed — the legendary boxer who was killed (in the ring, no less) before he was born. Adonis, who spent his childhood in juvenile detention facilities and fought constantly with other kids, is taken in by Creed's widow when he's a young boy, but that itch to fight never goes away. He has a good job in the financial field but prefers boxing in Tijuana, racking up an undefeated record across fifteen fights. In his adopted mom's L.A. mansion, he projects YouTube videos of Apollo's bouts with Rocky Balboa on the walls and positions himself as if he's the one boxing his father, fighting the ghost of a man he's never known but who has thus far defined his life.

Adonis, who goes by "Donnie," quits his job and heads to Philadelphia to seek training from Rocky, who reluctantly agrees after discovering Donnie's parentage. Creed makes perfect use of Stallone as the aging Balboa. Rocky is quiet, lonely, and reserved, a man who's lived a whirlwind life and been left with nothing but memories. But these films understand that a fighter can't make it to the top on his own, so Rocky steps into Burgess Meredith's Mickey role and becomes the support system for Donnie, both in the ring and out. Stallone gives a moving, measured performance that's his most affecting work in years, and when he begins to experience his own set of challenges, an extra layer of emotion blankets the story. Meanwhile, Donnie begins a romance with his downstairs neighbor Bianca (Tessa Thompson), who becomes another lifeline for him and a part of their surrogate family.

Though the rest of the story plays out with the basically the same formula as the original Rocky — Donnie gets a shot at the big time, training montages ensue, there's some drama leading up to the big final fight, etc. — Coogler brings vitality and energy to the storytelling with some virtuoso long takes, including one that encompasses the entirety of Donnie's first professional fight under Rocky's tutelage. Coogler's camera skillfully follows him into the ring and fluidly slides all around it, capturing the fight from both boxers' perspectives and putting the audience square in the middle of the action. But it's not just camera tricks that make this story work: the performances from everyone are top notch, including a completely jacked Michael B. Jordan who seemingly effortlessly succeeds at pulling off both the strength and vulnerability required for his character. And the score, by Childish Gambino collaborator Ludwig Goransson, keeps the energy up and incorporates Bill Conti's iconic "Gonna Fly Now" at a key moment that caused a section of my crowd of normally stodgy film critics to burst into applause.

An exploration of legacy, identity, and family, Creed is an outstanding piece of mainstream moviemaking that modernizes the Rocky franchise in a thrilling, crowd-pleasing way. I can't wait for this team to get back in the ring to continue this story.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Trailer Might Premiere With THE FORCE AWAKENS

Out of all of the trailers in the world that could be attached with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, why in the bloody hell does one of them have to be for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2?

The news came from Stephen Amell himself, who plays Casey Jones in the upcoming sequel. The Arrow star was at Heroes and Villain Fan Fest this past weekend in which he said:

“If you’re a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fan, then you’re going to want to go to the theater in December before a relatively big movie that’s being released for a fantastic trailer.”

He didn’t come right out and say Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but there’s really only one “relatively big movie” coming out in December that would fit the target audience and it’s certainly not Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. Other film trailers that are supposed to be attached with The Force Awakens are Captain America: Civil War (which you can watch early right here) and X-Men: Apocalypse

I absolutely hated the most recent TMNT film, and I don’t imagine the sequel will be any better, even if Amell is playing Casey Jones. The guy may perfect for the role, but unfortunately, it’s for the wrong version of the film franchise.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 opens in movie theaters on June 3rd, 2016.

THE GOOD DINOSAUR: Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, and Peter Sohn Discuss Western Theme and Message

Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur was a freakin’ animated masterpiece. This is easily my favorite film that Pixar has made so far, and a couple of the reasons for that are the message that it delivers and the film's western frontier setting. This movie was packed to capacity with heart and soul, and you can read my review for it here.

I had the opportunity to talk to Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, and more about the movie, and they all happily jumped at the opportunity to work with Pixar on this film. This project was basically like a dream come true for them. They also praised director Peter Sohn for the incredible work that he did on the film, and how he knew exactly what he wanted when he was directing them.

A couple of the things I was most interested in learning about the film was the message behind it and the western frontier influences. When talking about the message of the film, Elliott explained:

“It’s like a universal tale, this thing. It speaks to human kind. You know what I mean? I mean we’re all goin’ through it, we all go through maybe all our lives. You now, fear of the unknown. Survival, tryin’ to do what's right…or wrong. I think there’s a lot of different themes and a lot of different lessons to take away from this. The most exciting thing to me is that it’s great family fare. We’ve all done the dark stuff and I’ve done a couple of these family shows before, but the fact that it’s family fare, you know we're in the entertainment business. You know the fuckin’ world we’re livin’ in today, as dark as it is, horrific as it is, how lucky are we to be the ones sitting hear making these kinds of movies? It’s a real gift. I’ll always look at this as a gift.”

This really is an amazing emotional story that has the power to reach everyone’s heart. When asked about her favorite aspects of the film, Paquin said:

“I like that it delivers a message of the things that are struggles, and hard, and setbacks in your life, and how they can also be the things that make you stronger and make you reach higher and be a better stronger person and eventually be able and sort of return the favor to other people. We see him [Arlo] go from being completely weak and defenseless and terrified, to being in a position to take care of his friend who’s been there for him. I like that sort of circular message.”

We then got into the western aspect of the film, which Sam Elliott is obviously an expert at. The guy has starred in a ton of westerns and he’s as close as anyone can get to being a cowboy. He said:

“I think there’s some value in that genre. I think the simplicity of it is one of the things that kind of black and white and the lack of grey area, which I think is in this as well. And I think there’s a lot of elements in it that are common to this, and that's mans struggle against man, man's struggle against nature, and man's struggle against himself. Those are the three kind of themes to me that were most important to me in most of the westerns that I did. I think that those speak to a lot of people, and I think on some level, although, the younger audience may not intellectualize that, but they’ll be turned on to it. Their curiosity will be piqued. You don’t see many kids playing cowboys and Indians anymore.”

With recent films like The Good Dinosaur, The Hateful Eight, and Bone Tomahawk, it’s good to see that the western genre is alive and well. When asked about what inspired the western and frontier theme for the movie, director Sohn said:

"It was early on, just the idea of like a farmer. The first drawing that I had done were of dinosaurs plowing and farming the earth. It was like ‘whoa! they’re big tractors!’ But then taking the herbivores into farmland and carnivores to ranchers was like, ‘oh! this is wild if like everyone is trying to survive,’ there was this real survival quality to this that was really interesting. And what I loved about westerns was that fact. That these were homesteaders and everything like that.”

It wasn’t always like that, though. At one point, they were looking a making it more of a comedy that made fun of the westerns. The director continued:

“Early on in this production we tried westerns going all the way down to where like, ‘There's a saloon, and the T-Rex are like ‘Hey man! Who are you messin’ with!?’ It was stuff like, boy, we’re just makin’ fun of what we loved about westerns. It was like boiling it down to, 'OK, what is it about the western that we’re trying to say?' We call it a frontier film, where it's like obviously the ranchers are definitely those cowboys that you know, but they weren’t even family early on, they were JR, JW, and JL, and they were just these kind of jokey like ‘ding dang damnit my bottom half’s not goin’ anywhere…’ and it's just we’re making fun of it.”

It wasn’t until they were sent on a research trip in which they went to spend time with a farming family in Oregon named McKays that the direction changed. Sohn explained that while they were there, they fell in love with this family and the way they lived their lives. He explained how the family was so pure, and that they were surviving in this incredible country. They connected with this family and that's what inspired them to focus on this one family of dinosaurs living their lives in the frontier, instead of making it a silly comedy.

“We wanted to honor this kind of lifestyle in the film. It wasn’t making fun of anything anymore.”

The film is so much better off by taking it in this direction. It’s hard to imagine The Good Dinosaur being anything other than what it is. You’ve really got to see this movie. It may be a little dark at times, but hey, that’s life. This film is about facing your fears, rising above them, and becoming a stronger person through your trials. Make sure to check it out sometime this weekend if you haven't already!

The Russo Brothers Break Down The CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer

Before we do anything else, let's take another look at the Captain America: Civil War trailer, shall we?

OK, now that everyone's all on the same page, let's talk about Empire's latest interview with the movie's directors, Anthony and Joe Russo. The whole thing is worth reading since they basically go through the trailer beat by beat, but I'll just pull a few of the important quotes out for you below:

“The job is to tie all these films together,” says Joe Russo. “To be able to pull from The Hulk, which may have been forgotten about a little bit, and make it relevant again within the cinematic universe, is important to us. We thought it would be interesting to take a character who had a fanatical anti-superhero point of view,” says Joe Russo of [William Hurt's General Thunderbolt] Ross, who once saw his prospective son-in-law turn big and green and mean. “Now he’s become much savvier and more political and has put himself in a position of power, not unlike a Colin Powell. He’s cornering the Avengers politically now, he’s out-maneuvering them.”
“You cannot have a character called Captain America without examining the politics of what that means, especially in this day and age. The heroes in this universe operate under their own auspices, not under the directive of a government, and that can cause a lot of problems. There’s a certain level of imperialism that we’re examining – what right do those that have power have to use that power, even if it’s to do good? How do you govern that kind of power?”
“We’re using the essence of what Civil War was about. The comic book isn’t applicable to the storytelling that we’ve structured up to this point, but the concept of registration, the notion that heroes need to be either monitored or controlled because their power can be scary, is applicable.”
“The challenge was, we’re doing the story of Civil War,” says Anthony Russo. “Which everybody knows is nominally about superhero registration. And in a lot of ways that can be a political issue, and we didn’t want the conflict of the movie to solely exist on that level. We wanted to figure out very personal reasons why everyone’s relationship to this idea of registration is going to become complicated. That’s what the relationship between Steve and Bucky allowed us to do, to get very personal in terms of why people would lean one way or the other.”
“The arc we’re tracking for Captain America, the thing we thought would be most interesting with this character when we came on board to direct Winter Soldier,” explains Anthony Russo, “was to take him from the most ra-ra company man that you could get, this character who was a somewhat willing propagandist, and by the end of the third film he’s an insurgent.”

There's some really compelling stuff there, especially at the end about Steve becoming an insurgent and how the Russos are placing such a big emphasis on the relationship between Steve and Bucky. That's what drove The Winter Soldier, and I'm glad to see that through-line is continuing in a strong way into this movie, despite how crowded it is. After Age of Ultron (which I considered to be extremely disappointing), I'm incredibly wary of the huge cast in this movie. They're all great individually, or even in small groups, but the reason fans love them is because they've appeared in movies that have given them time to actually breathe and establish themselves as characters, not just breathlessly jump around as a sprawling narrative takes place.

We'll see how well the Russos juggle all of the different storylines when Civil War blasts into theaters on May 6th, 2016.

13-Year-Old Superman Will Join SUPERGIRL

It looks like Superman will finally be given a face in the Supergirl series. Up until this point, we've pretty much only seen Superman in a few shadowy shots. Now we're actually going to get a little hstory behind the relationship Kara has with her cousin Kal-El.

TV Line reports that CBS and producers are looking to cast a 13-year-old boy in the role. They want the actor to have “future leading man looks.” I wonder if that's hard to find in a 13-year-old kid. Can you really tell if a kid that young is going to have leading man looks?

According to the report, this young version of Superman will appear in the 13th episode, and he will be involved in a "string of flashbacks that will establish the cherished bond between him and Kara."

Supergirl has been a great series so far. It turned out a lot better than I expected. It will be fun to see how Superman plays into Kara's past.

WALKING DEAD Star Sees Dead People in THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR Trailer

Sarah Wayne Callies, the actress who plays Lori Grimes on The Walking Dead, has her own horror movie coming out called The Other Side of the Door. I've never heard of this film until today, but it looks like it might have some decent scares in it. Callies plays a mother whose son dies in an accident, and, desperate to speak to him again, she agrees to visit an ancient temple where she can commune with the dead. Her only warning? Don't open the door inside the temple. You can imagine what she decides to do, and how that decision plays out for her.

Check out the full trailer below. The Other Side of the Door arrives on March 11th, 2016.

A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.

6 Movies Worthy of Your Time This Thanksgiving Weekend

Four day weekends are rare, so for those looking to maximize their time spent watching awesome things and who want to avoid wasting valuable time on a dud, here's a quick rundown of a few movies playing in theaters right now that are actually worthy of your time.

Creed: Ryan Coogler's Rocky spin-off revitalizes the franchise with a fresh perspective, but still honors the films that came before it. Michael B. Jordan is fantastic as the son of Apollo Creed, and Sylvester Stallone's supporting turn as Rocky Balboa is the best thing he's done in years. Full review here.

The Night Before: Jonathan Levine's new comedy sort of looks like just another movie in which Seth Rogen takes a crazy amount of drugs and goes wild, but it's much more than that. While I won't argue for it being high art, it's a surprisingly sweet comedy that celebrates the kind of surrogate family you might wish you were spending time with right now instead of your own (depending on how annoying your siblings are being at the moment). Full review here.

The Peanuts Movie: If you have young kids or young siblings and are looking to distract them for a while with some nice, family-friendly entertainment, you could do a lot worse than this loving 3D recreation of Charles Schulz's iconic characters. Charlie Brown may be the headliner, but it's Snoopy who steals the show. Full review here.

Spotlight: OK, so this isn't exactly the kind of movie that will lift your spirits, but it's up there among the year's best films and deserves your attention. If the subject matter of the Catholic Church's sex scandal makes you uncomfortable, good — the movie is doing its job. A stellar ensemble cast and a methodical, engrossing script makes this film easy to appreciate, even if it probably won't be something you rewatch multiple times. It also happens to be one of the best journalism films ever made, so it has that going for it. Full review here.

Brooklyn: When I first saw the trailer, I thought, "Oh great, another stuffy period piece." But this film is so much better than its contemporaries, and features career-defining work from Saoirse Ronan, who is terrific in the lead role. Full review here.

Room: Another one that can be a little tough to watch due to the subject matter, Room has a pair of phenomenal performances at its center from Brie Larson and co-star Jacob Tremblay that easily makes this worth recommending. Seeing the movie through the young boy's eyes is a riveting experience, and something you won't soon forget. Full review here.

What are you going to watch this weekend (or what did you go see yesterday)? Let us know in the comments below.

Ridley Scott Teases ALIEN: COVENANT and Says There Will Be 2 More Films After It

Last week, 20th Century Fox released the official logo, title, and synopsis for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. We previously heard from Scott that there would be one more film after this next one. Now in a new interview with THR, the director says that there will be two more movies after this one. If that's the case, then there will be four films in total that lead up to his 1979 classic Alien. Just as a little refresher before we get into Scott's recent comments, here's Alien: Covenant's official synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

In the interview, the director talked about the story for his new Alien projects and what inspired him to tell this origin story of the xenomorph. Basically, he was frustrated with the sequels and was surprised that no one tackled the questions of why the xenomorphs exist.

“It's a very complex story. It's an evolution of what I first did with Prometheus 1. Prometheus 1 was borne out of my frustration that on Alien 1 in 1979 – I only did one as I don’t normally do sequels. I was amazed that in the 3 that followed that no-one asked the question ‘why the Alien, who made it and why?’ Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus 1, which starts to indicate who might have made it and where it came from.”

He went on to discuss the evolution of his story, and in the process confirms that there will be two films after Alien: Covenant, not only one.

“So I’m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one, which was this Shaw, when [s]he replaced Michael Fassbender in two pieces and we’ll kind of pick it up there and it will evolve. When that’s finished there’ll be another one and then another one which will gradually drive into the back entrance of the film in 1979… So in other words, why was this space jockey there and why did he have an Alien inside him? And those questions will be answered.”

It's good to know that questions will be answered. I am curious to see where this all leads. It's pretty crazy to see Scott so amped up about making these Alien films. I'm pretty sure Neill Blomkamp's desire to make Alien 5 lit a fire under Scott's ass, which is why Blomkamp's awesome-sounding movie got pushed out so that Scott could work on his movies.

Michael Fassbender is set to reprise the role of the android David and apparently Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw will only make a brief appearance in Alien: Covenant. Are you excited about what Scott is planning to do with his Alien franchise?

It's set to hit theaters on October 6th, 2017.

Looks Like Ecto-Cooler is Going to Make a Comeback!

When the Ghostbusters-inspired beverage Ecto-Cooler was introduced to the world when I was a kid, it was seriously my favorite thing to drink. We always had the fridge stocked with that stuff until Hi-C stopped making it. Needless to say, it was a sad day when I went to the store with my parents to restock the fridge with it and Ecto-Cooler was nowhere to be found.

It looks like the green-colored citrus-flavored drink could be making a comeback! It has been discovered that Coca-Cola just re-registered the US Trademark for Ecto Cooler, which says to me that they are looking to bring it back from the dead! Obviously they are doing this because of the new Ghostbusters movie that is coming out next year.

This is going to be a huge hit if it actually re-launches. Fans have been wanting to see Ecto Cooler back on the shelves for years! I really hope that Coca-Cola really does plan on bringing this back instead of just doing this to preserve the trademark. I for one can't wait to taste that sweet, sweet citrus green nectar again!

When Supergirl was originally in development, we heard rumors that the title character might crossover with the likes of The Flash and Arrow. But then CBS said that they were going to keep her to themselves. Now a new rumor has surfaced from Bleeding Cool that suggests that CBS might actually be moving forward with those crossover plans with The Flash

Apparently a "reliable source" told the site that Supergirl and The Flash crossover plans are in the works. According to this source, Supergirl was initially ordered for thirteen episodes with an option for nine more to complete a twenty-two episode first season. They say that if CBS orders those nine other episodes, then the crossover could happen.

Supergirl and The Flash have already had a photo op togetherSupergirl has been a fun show to watch with my kids, and so has The Flash! It would be pretty great to see these two characters actually interact with each other. I hope this turns out to be true because it could make for a great superhero TV event!

Would you like to see Supergirl team-up with The Flash to fight off evil?

Regardless of how much we warn people about SPOILERS on GeekTyrant, people still complain about them. It's just a fact of internet life. The internet is full of spoilers, it's just the world we live in now. Some people like being informed of them, other people don't. We try to please everyone!

For those of you who are are trying to steer clear of any spoilers regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens before it's released, Google Chrome now has an extension called Star Wars Blocker, which is supposed to block all Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers.

All you have to do is install and activate the extension and whenever you go to a page that has anything Star Wars-related on it, a screen will pop up that warns you about the possible spoilers that lay ahead.

The extension works, but it also seems to overreact with the warnings and pretty much kicks into gear with anything Star Wars related, so it could be more annoying to you than blocking actual spoilers because you don't want every bit of Star Wars news blocked...unless you hate Star Wars. If you've already downloaded the app, there's a good chance that this post may have been blocked. It's pretty sensitive.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in theaters on December 18th.
