GREMLINS 3 Will Reportedly Be Set 30 Years After The Original Film

$

We've been hearing rumors about a third Gremlins film happening for years, and according to franchise star Zach Galligan, it's going to happen! He also reveals that it won't be a reboot or a remake, this film will be a direct sequel to the first two films, which is awesome! That's what I was hoping it would be if another film ever moved forward.

Galligan recently appeared at a screening for the original 1984 film at London's Prince Charles Cinema, and he did a little Q&A session with the audience. It was there he revealed the plans of the sequel:

"It’s not going to be a reboot. It will not be a remake in any way, shape, or form. Chris Columbus has come out and said that the first film is very near and dear to his heart and as long as he is alive it will never be remade."

The actor then likened the sequel to Jurassic World:

“So the only thing they will be - and apparently are going to be – doing is something along the lines of like Jurassic World, where it will be 30 years later."

We've got no official confirmation from the studio or anyone else involved with the project, but Galligan has obviously been talking to someone about it. The actor went on to say that he doesn't know if he'll be in it.

"I swear on my life, I don’t know if I’m in it or not, but I think there is probably a decent chance since I’m one of the few people left standing from the first movie."

It would make complete sense to bring him back, especially since it would be a sequel. It would also obviously be great to see Gizmo included in the story.  I'd love to see the story continue with these two characters after all these years.

What would you like to see happen in a new Gremlins sequel?

We’ve seen a lot of cool fan-made Star Wars: The Force Awakens parodies out on the Internet, but I haven’t seen anything as spectacular as this, and that’s because it was created by the U.S. Navy and the sailors of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). They really went all out on this thing and the footage from the aircraft that they used is incredibly fun.

New International Trailer For PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES

new-international-trailer-for-pride-and-prejudice-and-zombies

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies looks like a ridiculous film, but it also looks like it could be a lot of fun to watch. Lionsgate has released a new international trailer and poster for the movie featuring the Bennet sisters in action and slaying zombie ass.

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies is a fresh twist on Jane Austen’s widely celebrated novel. A mysterious plague has fallen upon 19th century England, the land is overrun with the undead and feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry. Casting aside personal and social prejudices, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy must unite on the blood-soaked battlefield to rid the country of the zombie menace and discover their true love for one another.

The film is an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's period horror parody novel, and it was written and directed by Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down). It stars Lily James, Sam RileyJack Huston (American Hustle), Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows), Douglas Booth (Jupiter Ascending), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), and Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones).

It will be released on February 5th, 2016.

Super Shadows Art Series Features Kids’ Inner Superheroes

Artist Jason Ratliff created this great geek art series called “Super Shadows.” Each of the illustrations feature children imagining themselves as superheroes, and the shadows reveal their inner hero.

The artist talked about his inspiration of the series in an interview with Curioos. This is what he had to say:

“This series of “Super Shadows” comes after my original series “Walking Shadows”, which illustrates various peoples’, animals’, and objects’ shadows with an abstract, low-poly feel. The series first started after flipping through an old sketchbook of unfinished ideas. I came across an old drawing of an unassuming elderly woman. The only thing I had yet to draw was the shadow. The drawing was at least 5 or 6 years old. I remember not finishing it because I didn’t know where to take it. But after all that time, once I saw it again everything clicked. I instantly knew how I wanted to finish that one and I instantly knew what I was going to do for the next 3 pieces. It all grew from there. Unlike the first shadows, which explore everything from people to animals to objects, this new series of “Super Shadows” is wholeheartedly focused on the inherent power of a child’s potential and imagination.”

Prints are available to purchase online from Curioos.

Since then the Star Wars galaxy has been a major influence to me and my creativity. Whether its the philosophy of the Force, the many unique characters , but most definitely the astounding concept and creativity of the designs that makes go "WOWOWOWWO!!!"

Stylish and Intriguing Sci-Fi Psychological Thriller THEREFORE I AM

Are you ready to have mind messed with? I’ve got a very cool and well made short film for you to watch called Therefore I Am. It’s a psychological sci-fi time-travel thriller directed by the McCoubrey Brothers. These are the same guys that brought us the dark comedy The Grey Matter, which you can check out here. Therefore I Am is a very intelligent film that I know film buffs will enjoy. Here’s the synopsis, which gives you an idea of what you’re about to get yourself into:

A mysterious encounter between a man who claims to be from the future and the man that he claims is his former self. A surreal psychological thriller about loss and regret. All set within the framework of a time travel story that loosely operates in accordance to the paradox-less MWI (many-worlds interpretation) in quantum mechanics.

I highly recommend watching this, so please take the time to check it out as soon as you get the chance! You’re in for a real treat.

So Orcs Think They Can Dance

The Lord of The Rings orcs are famous for their gruesomeness and cruelty. I can hardly imagine them doing anything different from killing or plotting how to kill. But obviously they can be quite good at designing sequences of structured movements and simultaneously following a dance choreography. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, I’m not sure), their performance does not last for too long. Legolas always knows how to interrupt the party.

Here are a few cool pieces of art from IGN that were inspired by the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie. The first three posters are a retro throwback to the pre-release posters for the classic 1977 movie.

The last couple of art pieces were created by artist Darren ‘Daz’ Tibbles. They are described as vintage Star Wars Covers, and they were created for a Star Wars art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. They are very stylized pieces of art that have a worn down kind of feel.

JJ Abrams Says THE FORCE AWAKENS' Lightsaber Duels Are Rawer and More Aggressive

$
0
0

One of the coolest things about the Star Wars films is the lightsaber duels, and it all started with the confrontation between Obi-wan Kenobi and Darth Vader in A New Hope. That was the first real duel. From then on, the lightsaber fights got more and more elaborate. In the prequel films, the fight choreography was freakin’ beautiful. The movies may have been crap, but the lightsaber fight sequences were pretty cool to watch. I remember having conversations with my friends back in the day that the fight scenes might have been too perfectly choreographed.

Looks like Director J.J. Abrams wanted to change that and he has scaled back a bit on how the Lightsaber fights play out in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. During an interview with Empire, the director promises the return to the rawer lightsaber battles, which we’ve gotten a brief taste of in the trailers. He says:

“When you look at Star Wars and Empire, they are very different lightsaber battles, but for me they felt more powerful because they were not quite as slick. I was hoping to go for something much more primitive, aggressive and rougher, a throwback to the kind of heart-stopping lightsaber fights I remembered being so enthralled by as a kid.”

Abrams also talked about some of the other things that inspired him on The Force Awakens outside of the Star Wars films. Some of that inspiration came from Terrence Malick, Akira Kurosawa, and John Ford. Empire reports:

[Abrams] looked at “the confidence” of John Ford Westerns. He took in the “unbelievable scene choreography and composition” of Kurosawa’s High and Low. And he studied “the powerful stillness” of Terrence Malick. “It’s not something I would normally have thought of coming to Star Wars,” he says. The spare visual style of Ford, Kurosawa and Malick points to a key mandate for Abrams’ approach to Episode VII: the distinctive less-is-more quality of the originals.

It’s interesting to hear that. I love the “less is more” concept. I’ve always believed that about telling great stories in filmmaking. It’s nice to know that he followed that concept with The Force Awakens. I’m really curious to see how exactly these lightsaber duels are going to play out, though. It looks and sounds like it’s going to be different from anything we’ve seen before in this saga.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18th.

Adam Sandler Debuts a New Version of the Chanukah Song

Adam Sandler reveals a fourth list of people who are Jewish in this brand new version of his classic "Chanukah Song." He debuted the classic song back in 1994 on Saturday Night Live, and since then he’s come out with a few new lists of famous Jewish people.

He performed the song at an event in San Diego, and some of the new people he amusingly mentions are Jared from Subway, Shia LaBeouf, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Adam Levine, Scarlett Johansson, Drake, Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and the characters from Frozen.

One of the more controversial lines in the song was, “Jared from Subway: f—k, a Jew/but guess who’s Jewish and can fix him? Loveline’s Dr. Drew.” This is one of the few things that Sandler has done recently that has actually been entertaining, so enjoy!

Spider-Man’s Identity Will Be a Secret in the MCU and Other Heroes Might Join Him in His Solo Film

$
0
0

The true identity of the superheroes in the MCU has never been an issue with Marvel Studios. When Tony Stark let the world know who he was at the end of Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, it was made clear that there was no keeping it a secret. Marvel hasn’t really dealt with any of their superheroes trying to keep their true identity a secret. They are just kind of out in the world kicking ass.

That’s all going to change when Spider-Man enters the picture. His real identity will be kept a secret. While talking to SHH, Tom Holland talked about what he thinks makes his character interesting:

"I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he’s the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is. I think it’s quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask."

That really will kind of bring a cool dynamic into the MCU that we haven’t really seen. I’m really happy they are doing that. Spider-Man is one of those characters that needs his secret identity.

My question is, will the Avengers team know that Spider-Man is Peter Parker? Or will he keep it a secret from them as well? I imagine they’d have to know, but we’ll see how it plays out.

Now, there’s another matter of business that I’d like to point out, and it includes the possibility of Iron Man and Captain America appearing in the Spider-Man’s solo film. Holland says in the interview that they will be shooting the film in Atlanta:

"We’re shooting in Atlanta for most of it, because they have studios there and I think it’s cheaper to build a New York set than it is to shoot here, because it’s going to be very expensive. We probably will end up here (in New York) for one week or two."

Then in a separate interview with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans while on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Evans complained about how hot it was in Atlanta while shooting Captain America: Civil War. That’s when Downey Jr. chimed in and said this:

“By the way, we are going to shoot in Atlanta again, you and I.”

Evan’s added:

“I know, I’m ready, I’m ready.”

The only two Marvel films shooting in Atlanta in the near future are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man’s solo movie. We already know that they aren’t going to show up in Guardians of the Galaxy, but there is a chance they could be talking about Avengers: Infinity War. The problem with that is that movie is way too far off, and filming locations have yet to be solidified.

It would make sense to see Iron Man and Cap show up in Spider-Man. Including them or any of the other Avengers character would basically guarantee the Spider-Man film would be a huge success and let general audiences know that Spider-Man is now definitely part of the MCU. You’d be surprised by how many people aren’t aware that this whole Spider-Man crossover thing is happening.

Spider-Man is being directed by Jon Watts and is scheduled to be released on July 28th, 2017.

The Disney Channel recently aired a new promo video for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it puts the focus on Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey. The video shows off even more new footage from the movie along with some behind-the-scenes clips. Ridley also talks about her character, giving us a little more insight.

We still don’t know how her character fits into the story, or what her relation is to the other characters in the story, but we’ll find out soon enough! We’ve got less than three weeks until this movie comes out!

James McAvoy Reveals How Professor X Loses His Hair In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Do you want to know how Professor Xavier finally loses his hair in X-Men: Apocalypse? If not, stop reading now, because James McAvoy let some SPOILER information fly on the Graham Norton Show over the weekend.

When the actor was asked about shaving his head to play Professor X in the movie and whether there's a "good reason for why he goes bald" or if it's "really dull," the actor revealed:

"He ends up going through something so horrible and painful that he literally half pulls his hair out half… it falls out. I just shit myself because I know, Fox Studios who own me might be angry with me for sharing that."

I think anyone who saw the footage from the film that was shown at Comic-Con assumed this would be the case. Especially when he says, “I have never felt such power like this.” I think it happens while Professor X is using Cerebro to try and find Apocalypse. As some of you already know, Apocalypse is the most powerful mutant on earth.

Review - KRAMPUS: SHADOW OF SAINT NICHOLAS

Stories by: Todd Casey, Michael Dougherty, & Zach Shields

Written by: Zach Shields, Todd Casey, and Laura Shields (II)

Pencils by: Christian Dibari (I), Maan House (II), Stuart Sayger (III), Michael Montenat (IV)
Colors by: Mike Spicer (I, IV), Guy Major (II, III)

For those who like a little horror with their christmas tidings, Legendary Comics has something right up your alley with Krampus: Shadow of Saint Nicholas. Just as in Trick R’ Treat: Days of the Dead, Krampus is also split up into four short stories that intertwine amongst one another. While Trick R’ Treat: Days of the Dead has a prevailing thread of hope throughout its stories, Krampus skews more towards the notion of redemption.

In each Christmas tale there is at least one, if not more, character who is attempting to find their way out or back from something. Book I, for instance, stars a mall santa who for all intents and purposes has just given up on trying to be, well, anything other than a drunkard. Book II revolves around moving on from a lost loved one, and story III is a Dickens-esque stroll through an individual's life choices. Each tale focuses on a different kind of loss, and a different sort of recovery, and the writers do a lovely job of keeping the focus on the characters themselves. It would be easy to lose that with all the nightmarish creatures running around, as well as Krampus himself, but luckily Zach Shields, Toddy Casey, and Laura Shields manage to keep their eyes on the prize. By story IV you can't help but be invested in how these stories intersect, and how, or if, I should say, they manage to move on. Whether that happens or not, well, you’ll just have to read it for yourself, but suffice it to say I was pleased with how things concluded.

Shadow of Saint Nicholas includes a talented art roster, including Christian Dibari (Story I), Maan House (Story II), Stuart Sayger (Story III), and Michael Montenat (Story IV). The pencils and colors are perfectly attuned to the tone of the stories being told, but story III with Sayger may just be the most interesting story, at least art wise, in the collection. Sayger's art style is like controlled chaos, and can transform a rather normal panel into something far more intense. Some of the most terrifying bits of Shadow of Saint Nicholas are found in story III, and they are due in large part to Sayger's pencils. Story III does struggle in places, though, due to this frenetic style, however, as it sort of hinges some of the other stories on its shoulders, and because of the frenzied art, it is sometimes hard to tell what exactly is going on.

There is a great deal to like in Krampus: Shadow of Saint Nicholas, and even if you are not a horror fan there are still some fantastic stories for you to sink your teeth into. I definitely recommend giving it a read.

Krampus: Shadow of Saint Nicholas is in stores now. Krampus releases in theaters on December 4th.

Leonardo DiCrapio and Tom Hardy's upcoming film The Revenant looks absolutely stunning. This is a cinematic event that you won't want to miss. The film comes from director Alejandro González Iñárritu, and it has such a brutally gritty feel to it. DiCaprio has said in interviews that this is the most difficult film he has ever made. You get a glimpse of why that is the case in the trailers that have been released — this movie looks insane!

Today we have a Japanese trailer, a TV spot, and a collection of photos to share with you from the movie that you'll want to check out, especially if you're excited for this film. I also included a "For Your Consideration" ad because this is the kind of film that is going to be nominated for lots of awards.

Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

The Revenant opens on December 25th and expands wide on January 8th, 2016.
