Dad Lovingly Designs STAR WARS Corrective Helmets for His Son After Cranial Surgery

dad-lovingly-designs-star-wars-corrective-helmets-for-his-son-after-cranial-surgery

While young Jack was recovering from cranial surgery, he had to wear corrective helmets to make sure the shape of his head turned out right. The surgery was done to correct his congenital craniosynostosis, which is a premature fusing of the skull. Over the course of a year, his dad gave these helmets an adorably awesome Star Wars makeover by making them look like the helmet designs of different characters from the films. The helmets were inspired by R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Biggs Darklighter, and Jek Tono Porkins.

This is the note that came along with the photo from imgur user mikesweeney37:

My buddy’s kid had craniosynostosis surgery. His dad designed helmets for a year. Today is the last day of helmets. Happy birthday, Jack!

Happy birthday, Jack!

Details Emerge of Josh Trank’s Chaotic Behavior on FANTASTIC FOUR Set

$

Josh Trank is living his worst nightmare right now as details about his insane behavior on the set of Fantastic Four start to come to light. This is some major Hollywood behind-the-scenes drama!

Telling actors when to blink and breath? Hiding in a tent while shooting? Defacing photos of the family who owned the house he rented and allegedly wrecked? These are just a few of many things that happened during the production of the box-office and critical disaster.

Remember that tweet that Trank sent out after the movie was released saying that he had “a fantastic version” that we would “probably never see”? Well, just before Fantastic Four hit theaters, Trank sent an email to some members of the cast and crew to say he was proud of the film, and told them it was "better than 99 percent of the comic-book movies ever made."

Whoa! One of the cast members even responded to him with, “I don’t think so.” That cast member was right. As you know, the movie turned out to be worse than 99 percent of the comic book movies ever made.

After Trank sent out the tweet dissing his own movie, a lot of people who worked on it have come out to tell what allegedly happened on the set of the film. THR has the details thanks to multiple sources who were around when the madness unfolded.

Here are several points of interest:

  • “Multiple sources associated with the project say the director did not produce material that would have opened the way to a salvageable film.”
  • Several people within the production say he resisted help from the studio. ”He holed up in a tent and cut himself off from everybody. He built a black tent around his monitor. He was extremely withdrawn." Between setups, "he would go to his trailer and he wouldn't interact with anybody."
  • “Several sources say Fox stood by Trank as he pushed a gloomy tone on young stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.”
  • "During takes, he would be telling [castmembers] when to blink and when to breathe. He kept pushing them to make the performance as flat as possible."
  • “Trank and his dogs allegedly caused more than $100,000 worth of damage to a rented house in Baton Rouge that he and his wife occupied while the film was shooting there.”
  • “Sources say now that after landlord Martin Padial moved to evict Trank, photographs of the landlord's family that were in the house were defaced.” He made a complaint to the local sheriff’s department and even filed a civil suit.
  • A crew member on the film said the movie was "ill-conceived, made for the wrong reasons and there was no vision behind the property. Say what you will about Marvel but they have a vision."
  • The studio was "afraid of losing the rights so they pressed forward and didn't surround [Trank] with help or fire him. They buried their heads in the sand."
  • There was some talk of firing Trank before the movie started shooting, but Fox put their complete faith in him “because he had directed the studio's 2012 found-footage hero movie Chronicle.”
  • Based on that, “insiders say Fox executives thought they had found an ‘in-house director,’ a young talent who could become another J.J. Abrams.” Well, that dream is dead!
  • The problems eventually escalated to the point of no return. An inside source said, "How do you ask someone to take over half of a movie shot by someone else? You either hire somebody desperate for work or you [start over], write off pretty much the whole budget and lose the cast."

The article goes on to talk about the absolute chaos of the studio's last-minute scramble to come up with an ending for the film, shooting Teller against a green screen and using doubles for the other characters because none of the other actors were available when they shot it. Apparently Trank was there for the re-shoot of the ending, "but was neutralized by a committee."

One central player involved in the development of this movie had this to say:

"To me, it is a classic indictment of the entire system. Give Josh Trank a $20 million movie. Groom him. But they don't make those movies anymore… Nobody should escape scrutiny on this one. Everyone should take a good look in the mirror, myself included. Even I probably did the movie for the wrong reasons."

This is going to haunt not only Trank but Fox as well for a very long time. I don’t see how the studio can even think of making another Fantastic Four film at this point. This property is tainted, and it’s no good to them anymore. It’s obviously not going to make them any money. At this point, they are losing money on it!

Fox just needs to give the rights back to Marvel, and let them give the Fantastic Four the movie they deserve.

FDSedanoArts has released four cosplay music video that were shot at MegaCon 2015. There was so much cool cosplay at this event that the footage they shot filled up four videos! There are a lot of great costumes to see in these. One of my favorites is Korra in video number 2, who is creatively water-bending.

Last year it was announced that Tom Hiddleston would play Hank Williams in a biopic called I Saw the Light. Today we have a photo to share with you giving us our first look at what the actor looks like as the country music legend. I’ve also included a comparison photo of Williams, and Hiddleston definitely looks the part!

The movie is being directed by Marc Abraham, and it’s based on the book Hank Williams: The Biography written by Colin Escott, George Merritt, and William MacEwan. It follows "Williams’ rise from Grand Ole Opry reject to booze-addled stardom to his lonely death on New Year’s Day 1953” when he was only 29-years-old.

The movie also stars Elizabeth Olsen as Williams’ wife Audrey Mae, along with Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, Maddie Hasson, and Wren Schmidt

Sony Pictures Classics will release the film on November 26th in a limited theatrical release.

Legendary Marvel comic book writer and idea man Stan Lee could be getting his own LEGO set. LEGO Ideas features two sets for fans to vote on. There's a 649-piece bust set and a 134-piece office set that includes Stan Lee and Spider-Man minifigs, as well as fun office memorabilia like Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s helmet, and Thor’s hammer. I especially love that it includes a photo of Jack Kirby.

For these LEGO Ideas projects to be official reviewed by LEGO and be considered for mass production, they need 10,000 votes. Who knows? Maybe one day we'll be able to get our very own Stan Lee LEGO set! Do you think Lee deserves his own LEGO set?

GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot Will Feature a Rock Star Cameo

ghostbusters-reboot-will-feature-a-rock-star-cameo

We already have cameos from Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray in the upcoming Paul Feig-directed Ghostbusters reboot. Now it looks like the cameos have extended to big rock stars.

According to The Boston Herald, Kristin Wiig’s Erin Gilbert, Kate McKinnon’s Jillian Holtzmann, Melissa McCarthy’s Abby Yates, and Leslie Jones’ Patty Tolan will be rocking out with none other than Ozzy Osbourne.

Osbourne will appear as himself in the film, and there are prop posters that have been spotted outside the Citi Wang Theatre advertising a “Rock Revenge Fest featuring Ozzy Osbourne” that will be a “12 Hour Marathon of Metal.” The theater is being transformed into the Stonebrook Theatre for the movie.

I can only speculate that the theater is haunted in the story, and the Ghostbusters team will be called in to clear it out either before or maybe even during the concert.

This movie can shove whoever they want in the film, but until I see a trailer, I’m going to remain very skeptical of it.

The film also co-stars Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as a character named Hawkins, Matt Walsh as a character named Rourke, Chris Hemsworth as the Ghostbusters’ secretary, and Neil Casey as the film’s villain.

Ghostbusters is set to be released on July 15th, 2016.

Josh Trank Could Learn a Lesson in Humility from Joel Schumacher

Last week Josh Trank sent out a tweet that sealed his fate as the worst comic book director. It's not that he just made a bad movie with Fantastic Four; it's the fact that he doesn't own up to it. I mean, I totally understand his frustrations, but that's no excuse to disrespect the hard-working people on your set whose jobs are to follow your "directions." That's when I remembered an article I read about Joel Schumacher and who he blames for the nipple-tastic Batman & Robin... Himself. In an interview with Variety last year, Schumacher explained what occured after the box-office success of Batman Forever

"They immediately wanted a sequel, but I said yes. There’s nobody else to blame but me. I could have said, 'No, I’m not going to do it.'
"Val [Kilmer] left at eleventh hour to do The Island of Dr. Moreau. It changed everything. George [Clooney] made a noble effort. I was the problem with Batman & Robin. I never did a sequel to any of my movies, and sequels are only made for one reason: to make more money and sell more toys. I did my job. But I never got my ass in the seat right.
"I just hope whenever I see a list of the worst movies ever made, we’re not on it. I didn’t do a good job. George did. Chris [O’Donnell] did. Uma [Thurman] is brilliant in it. Arnold is Arnold."

What a class act. He knows it was bad, but he doesn't blame anyone for it but himself. If I were in Trank's position, I hope I would have the humility to say, "I bit off more than I could chew." Not "Everyone is stupid for not letting me do it my way!" (Slight paraphrase). I think this difference in attitude is what gave Schumacher a steady career afterwards, and why Trank will be lucky to work as a coffee runner.

So what do you guys think? Is Trank the new Schumacher? Can you forgive Bat Nipples?

HBO Is Talking About Making a DEADWOOD Movie!

theres-still-a-chance-hbo-could-make-a-deadwood-movie

After the incredible HBO western series Deadwood was canceled in 2006, there was some talk of making a movie. That discussion eventually faded into obscurity, and I gave up on that dream a long time ago. But now there is a new spark of hope that it could happen!

Garret Dillahunt, the actor who played Jack McCall and Francis Wolcott in the series, started all of the Deadwood movie talk with a couple of tweets in which he claimed to hear from "credible sources" that HBO might go back to the Old West and finish the story they started.

Here are the two main tweets that he sent out.

After the tweets hit the internet, THR got a statement from HBO saying, "In reference to Garret Dillahunt’s tweet regarding the rumored Deadwood movie, there have only been very preliminary conversations."

Preliminary conversations are better than no conversations! That means something is actually brewing, and that there really is a chance we could see a Deadwood movie. The project obviously would be a long way out, but it would be so great if it actually happened.

This was one of my favorite shows on TV at the time, and I was sad to see it get prematurely cancelled. The series was created by David Milch and it ran for three seasons, from 2004 to 2006. It starred Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane, and the story was set in the late late 1800s. It revolved around the people of Deadwood, South Dakota, a town of deep corruption and crime.

New SPECTRE Featurette Spotlights the Bond Women

We've got another behind-the-scenes featurette for the new James Bond film Spectre, and it focuses on two of the Bond woman in the story. Those women are Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra. The video features interviews with the two actresses along with director Sam Mendes as they discuss these characters in the movie.

Bellucci describes her character as “an Italian widow with secrets. Her mafioso husband is killed and she risks the same thing happening to her.” As far as Seydoux's character goes, “she’s a doctor. She’s intelligent and a very sensitive and human character.”

Sam Mendes went on to say that, “In Spectre the two women who [James Bond] hooks up with both have great mystery, they both have depths, and for that you need fantastic actresses. [Bellucci] is an incredibly seductive presence in life and in the movie, and I’m thrilled she’s in it. Madeleine needed to be soulful, feisty, and complicated. It probably couldn’t have been a total newcomer. We needed someone with a certain amount of life experience and maturity, and she’s the whole package, really.”

To learn more about the characters and see some behind-the-scene footage, watch the video below.

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

The movie also stars Daniel CraigRalph FiennesNaomie HarrisStephanie SigmanBen WhishawRory KinnearAndrew ScottDave Bautista, and Christoph WaltzSpectre will be released in theaters November 6th, 2015.

PUNISHER: WAR ZONE Director Would Helm MS. MARVEL Movie For Free

If Marvel decides to make a movie based on the current comic book version of Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan, Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander would direct it for free. Why? Because she likes the idea of it so much. Just to clarify, this isn't the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel movie that the studio is currently developing.

During a Twitter conversation about what she thinks about the idea of MMA fighter Ronda Rousey playing Captain Marvel, Alexander brought up the current Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan, and stated that she'd waive her director's fee for chance to make a movie about her. This is the tweet she posted:

Punisher: War Zone didn't get the best reviews, but it does have a solid fan base. I enjoyed the movie for what it was, and we'll never see a Punisher movie quite like that again. It was so over the top violent! I've wondered if Alexender would ever get the chance again to direct another Marvel movie, but I don't think Marvel really cared for her version of Punisher, so I don't think that's going to happen.

As for a Ms. Marvel movie, I don't think the studio is even thinking about that at the moment since they are currently focused on bringing Captain Marvel to the big screen.

For discussion's sake, do you think Alexander would make a good Ms. Marvel movie? If you don't know a lot about this latest version of Ms. Marvel, click here.

TITANO! is a Magical Short Film Inspired by Old School Monster Movies

titano-is-a-magical-short-film-inspired-by-old-school-monster-movies

I grew up watching all kinds of horror movies, and many of my favorites were the old-school black and white monster movies that the studios produced between the 1930s and 1950s. If you love watching those kinds of movies as well, you have to watch this fantastic short film called Titano! since it was inspired by those classics.

An old man looks up at a faded movie poster and remembers a time when the world knew him as the terrifying monster TITANO, star of a dozen old films. What he doesn’t know is that once the sun goes down, he will have one last opportunity to give the performance of a lifetime and deliver a scare that will never be forgotten!

The short was directed by Ben Chavda, and it stars veteran genre actor Irwin Keyes. He gives a colossal performance! The emotion and feeling that he radiates to the audience is stunning, and he does this without speaking a single word. I was really moved by his performance.

io9 had the opportunity to get an interview with the director, in which he explains:

“I wanted to write a love letter to all those great character actors who’ve touched our lives, if just for a moment.”

When talking about the character and the process of bringing him to life for the film, he said:

“Titano was a silent character, you had to see him and immediately empathize with him, feel his every sigh, every look, react to a completely physical performance. Not only that, but at the end of the movie you had to buy that this sweet big guy could also be scary.”

As you’ll see, Keyes was the perfect actor to take on the role, and he should be recognized for his monumental work in this movie. Keyes passed away not long after the film completed shooting, and I have to say it was one helluva brilliant final performance. This short is a beautiful tribute to the actor.

“He hadn’t gotten world-famous, he hadn’t won an Oscar, he hadn’t made millions of dollars. But he was an actor who you could build a silent movie off of. Even though he spoke no words, you knew what his character was thinking – and more importantly feeling – at every moment in the film. You were with him at every step, feeling for him, rooting for him. To me, that’s a movie star. We were all saddened by his passing, and that he never got to see the film’s release. And yet it’s so wonderful to be seeing reactions from people who are remembering all his wonderful character work, and who are so touched by his performance in this film. I like to think that Irwin would smile at the cosmic coincidence of it all.”

I hope that you all take the time to enjoy Titano!

BURNT Trailer: Bradley Cooper is a Rock Star Chef

When Jon Favreau's Chef was in development, a rival chef-centered film popped up at another studio. That project, once called Adam Jones, is now called Burnt, and it stars Bradley Cooper as an intense chef looking for (metaphorical) immortality through his cooking. Cooper previously played a chef on FOX's Kitchen Confidential that was inspired by real chef Anthony Bourdain, so this will be a return to familiar territory for him. It boasts a pretty solid cast — including Emma Thompson, Uma Thurman, Omar Sy, Alicia Vikander, Daniel Bruhl, and Sienna Miller — but just as often as you'll see a famous face in this trailer (via Yahoo), you'll see Cooper flipping a table or smashing dishes in the kitchen. It looks extremely over the top, and the self-serious way it treats cooking as the most important thing a person can do borders on parody, but I can't deny that I'm intrigued.

John Wells (The Company Men, August: Osage County) directs, and Burnt arrives in theaters on October 23rd.

Video Breaks Down Drugs In Esports Controversy And Why It's A Big Deal

I watched an awesome video today by Good Game Well Played that gave a really detailed report on the entire "drugs in Esports" controversy. In a community that's really niche and meta, it really gives casual gamers and outsiders a perspective into how big of a deal this issue really is! I would be angry too if some drugged out kids were walking home with 400k in a competition that I played clean! It also shows how drug monitoring is common in even the oddest of sports (darts), so why should gaming be an exception?

It clarified the situation that brought the issue to light for me as well. When I first read about Kory Friesan, I thought his team won the tournament and he was bragging about their use of Aderrall. Watching the video, you see this was not at all the case.

Hats off to this video for really driving it home for me.

George R.R. Martin Talks About How LORD OF THE RINGS Will Impact His GAME OF THRONES Ending

Author George R.R. Martin is hard at work trying to finish The Winds of Winter, the next book in his A Song of Ice and Fire saga that's the basis for HBO's hit show Game of Thrones. With the show finally about to overtake what he's written in the books so far, fans are naturally wondering about the ending to the whole story, which began back in 1996. In a new interview with The Observer, Martin was asked about the ending of his novel series and whether or not it will end with some kind of "horrible apocalypse," and he talked about his intentions for bringing the story to a close:

I haven’t written the ending yet, so I don’t know, but no. That’s certainly not my intent. I’ve said before that the tone of the ending that I’m going for is bittersweet. I mean, it’s no secret that Tolkien has been a huge influence on me, and I love the way he ended Lord of the Rings. It ends with victory, but it’s a bittersweet victory. Frodo is never whole again, and he goes away to the Undying Lands, and the other people live their lives. And the scouring of the Shire—brilliant piece of work, which I didn’t understand when I was 13 years old: “Why is this here? The story’s over?” But every time I read it I understand the brilliance of that segment more and more. All I can say is that’s the kind of tone I will be aiming for. Whether I achieve it or not, that will be up to people like you and my readers to judge.

I want to be clear that Martin is just talking about the ending of A Song of Ice and Fire, not necessarily the ending of HBO's Game of Thrones, though there's a chance they could be one and the same. He's reportedly told showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss the broad strokes of how the books will end so they can move toward an ending with their show, but I'm wondering if he's going to save the "real" ending for his books. I can't imagine the ending we'll see on TV will be exactly the same as how it plays in the books, just because the TV ending will likely come much earlier than the ending of the novels, even taking into account the potential for more seasons that would give him more time to finish the final book. Time will tell, I suppose, but in the meantime, do you think the show and the books will end the same way?

Dolph Lundgren Is Currently Shooting KINDERGARTEN COP 2!?

I was surprised to learn this morning that Kindergarten Cop 2 is currently shooting and that it stars Dolph Lundgren! There are even photos from the set of the film of Lundgren that you can check out here

I honestly can't believe this is actually happening. The movie will obviously go straight to video, but still, the fact that someon decided to make a sequel to Kindergarten Cop is hilarious, and casting Lundgren in the lead role is the icing on the cake.

As you would expect, Lundgren plays an undercover cop posing as a kindergarten teacher and according to the report, he's "on the trail of a missing flash drive from the Federal Witness protection program. Somehow it’s wound up in a kindergarten class." The site goes on to reveal that Lundgren will have "an Indian sidekick named Sanjit" helping him track down the bad guys, who are Albanian.

Regardless of how absurd this movie sounds, I have to see it. I have to see Dolph Lundgren as an undercover kindergarten cop! The original 1990s film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I enjoyed it as a kid. I would have loved to see Schwarzenegger and Lungren team up for the sequel. They could have been kindgergarten cops partners taking down Albanian villains, Expendables style!  Hell, while we're on the subject, the next Expendables movie should be patterned after Kindergarten Cop!

The movie is being directed by Michael Don Paul (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire) from a script written by David H. Steinberg (American Pie). Are any of you going to want to watch this sequel, or is it just me?

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Crew on Harrison Ford's Return to Han Solo

star-wars-the-force-awakens-crew-on-harrison-fords-return-to-han-solo

The fact that Harrison Ford as come back to reprise his role of Han Solo is kind of a miracle. It's common knowledge that the actor wanted George Lucas to kill off the character in The Empire Strikes Back. Thankfully Lucas made the right decision to keep the character around! Over the years, Ford has talked about his dislike for the character, so it was a huge surprise to learn that he would be back for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. When fans saw him show up at the end of the second teaser trailer that was released, there were tears.

Entertainment Weekly recently talked with several members of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens crew about Ford’s return to the franchise, and as you might expect, it was met with reverence from everyone who worked on the movie. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said:

“The minute Harrison and Chewie walked on board the Millennium Falcon — that was incredible. Every single person on the set was stunned. I remember turning around, and there must have been 200 people gathered behind me — completely quiet. I didn’t even know they were there. The whole crew had stopped working, staring at the monitor, because it was so iconic.”

That would have been quite a sight to see. It must have been such a cool experience to be there to see that. Screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan added:

“It was sort of surreal for everybody, and it wasn’t just Han, it wasn’t just Harrison. It was seeing all this stuff. The Millennium Falcon has been a big part of my life, from Empire to Jedi to Force Awakens — and now I’ve written a movie about the young Han. So the Falcon has enormous resonance for me. And I don’t know if you can imagine what it would be like to watch things being shot on that set with those people.”

Oh, I have a pretty good imagination, and I'm sad that I wasn't there to be able to witness it. Director J.J. Abrams then offered his feeling on Ford's return, and the leg injury that he suffered on the set of the movie:

“It was obviously a horrible experience that I wish had never happened for obvious reasons. But the truth is, once we knew that Harrison was going to be okay, we all realized this was this greatest gift to the movie, and I would think that any filmmaker would say, ‘If I could get a break after a month of shooting, for a few weeks, to recalibrate, I would take it…When it became clear that he was going to be just fine, we realized we didn’t need to change (the script) at all. In fact, there are some places where he’s more active than he was prior to the accident. As you’ll see in the movie, he is running and doing more physical activity in this movie than I think anyone who knows he was injured would expect. Nothing was adjusted or lessened because of that accident. Even for Harrison, who is famously resilient and strong, he blew everyone’s minds.”

It's going to be so awesome seeing Solo in full-on action the way Abrams explained. I wasn't sure how much physical activity we would see from Ford in the film, but it sure does sound like there's going to be plenty of it for the fans to enjoy.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in theaters on December 18th, 2015. We are so close, yet so far away!

JESSICA JONES Showrunner Calls Character "A Brawler," Show Will Be "A Psychological Thriller"

$

Marvel has set a high bar for their Netflix shows with Daredevil, which earned a ton of fans and a lot of good will right out of the gate. Jessica Jones, the second series in the company's deal with the streaming service that will eventually lead to The Defenders, will be coming out later this year, presumably in October to fit the "every six months" guideline that was recently announced. At the Television Critics Association panel (via Indiewire), some of the talent behind the show talked about their take on the story of a former superhero turned private detective, what genre it'll fall in, how David Tennant's Purple Man compares to The Kingpin, and more:

On the type of show it will be, executive producer Jeph Loeb said:

"When we first sat down and started talking about 'Daredevil,' what we said was, for all intents and purposes, it was a crime drama first and a superhero show second. One of the things we’ve talked a lot about is that 'Jessica' is in many ways a psychological thriller first and then a superhero show second."

Loeb on David Tennant's Purple Man:

"In the same kind of way Vincent D’Onofrio owned his half of 'Daredevil,' you’ll see David Tennant own his half of 'Jessica Jones.' What you get out of 'Jessica' is a sort of hold-your-breath tension as to what’s going to happen. When you see the dynamic between Krysten Ritter and David Tennant... that question of 'What’s going to happen next?' and 'What could happen next?' and how that’s driven by character is something that is so important to not just the scripts but also the way the show is shot, and the way that everyone reacts, and the way those two react with each other."

It sounds like the show definitely isn't going to shy away from the relationship between those two characters, and their sexual dynamic is something that could provide a really interesting platform for discussion if the show pulls it off right.

Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg on Krysten Ritter's Jessica:

"Jessica is about paying rent, getting the next client. She’s dealing with a fairly dark past. She’s trying to get through the day. She’s not really trying to save the city, she’s trying to save her apartment. At her core, she wants to do something good. She wants to contribute to the world. But there are a lot of personality issues for her that can get in the way. Jessica Jones is a brawler. She gets drunk, she gets pissed off, and boom, you’re down. She doesn’t wear a costume, she doesn’t have a mask. She’s just who she is."

I haven't read the Brian Michael Bendis-penned Alias comics on which this show is based, but Bendis himself has gone on record saying he loves what he's seen so far of the show, so that's probably a good sign for fans of this property. Are you excited about Jessica Jones?

Industrial Light & Magic has a secret virtual reality lab called ILMxLab that they are using to help make the new Star Wars movies and other things. The Verge has released a video that takes us inside this lab, and it shows the kind of stuff that they are doing there. It features interviews with the crew and engineers who are developing the technology. It also shows us some footage of people playing around with it.

They are currently running several different experiments and looking to see which of them will be the most successful. In the process, the filmmakers who are developing all of the upcoming Star Wars films come into their lab and work and collaborate with them on different projects.

The lab is a developmental playground for any and all kind of interactive or immersive experience. Virtual reality, AR, theme park attractions; it’s all up for grabs, uniting decades of visual effects expertise, computer wizardry, and Lucasfilm’s own creative team into a self-contained entertainment studio of the future.

The goal isn’t to just create what people will be trying out on their Oculus Rift next year. It’s to come up with the interconnected virtual experiences we’ll be having 10 years from now. And you’d better believe they’re starting with Star Wars.

The future sure does look awesome!

Last year, Ride Along made over $150 million on a $25 million budget, so it's not a shock that Ride Along 2 is set to hit theaters this January. Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are back, and this time they're joined by Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong, and more. The action heads to Miami, as the duo tries to take down a drug dealer played by Benjamin Bratt. Meanwhile, Hart's character is set to marry Cube's character's sister, leading to some wedding-prep hijinks showcased in this trailer. It basically looks like a big, broad, buddy comedy, and fans of the first movie will probably enjoy this one as well.
