Disney has released a new featurette for Maleficent called "Light and Dark." It obviously focuses on the light and dark aspects of the film and its story. There's a good amount of new footage included in the video, and since it's a featurette it also has interviews with the cast and crew. I've also included a clip from the movie called "Fall Into A Sleep Like Death," and it features Elle Fanning embracing her tragic fate. The movie comes out on May 30th!

Earlier this week a full trailer was released for an Akira fan film called The Akira Project. If you haven't watched it yet, you need to check it out right now! This movie looks epically radical. Today we bring you a great poster series for the film with art created by Studio Nora. They feature certain elements from the classic anime story that we all know and love. I'm more excited to see this fan film than I would be about seeing a feature film adaptation from Hollywood.

Here is a newly released poster for the upcoming film Transformers: Age of Extinction. It features the Dinobot, Grimlock. The new design of the Dinobots is an interesting take on the classic characters. They are the main reason I am going to see the movie, but I am pretty much on the fence about the new look.

Transformers: Age of Extinction stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Jack Raynor. The movie will be released June 27th.

GeekTyrant VS - Spider-Man 2 Vs. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

As promised, GeekTyrant VS is back with episode 2, where two teams of geeks battle over which Spider-Man sequel was better… Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 or Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

If you're new to the series, each team has 60 seconds to make their argument. After they make their arguments they get another 60 seconds for a rebuttal. The most important thing about this is that there are no redos or reshoots. So if we have a brain fart and screw up, too bad!

This is just a fun group of geeks getting together and having a fun time, so there are going to be some laughs and joking around with each other. It's hard not to with this group of people!

We have an awesomely talented team working on the show, and they put a lot of hard work into bringing this to you, so I really hope that you enjoy it! The rest of our team consists of Jake Smith, Conrad Paur, Drew Lawrence, and our host Corrin Raush. In this episode we are joined by Bryan Daylay, and it was hosted by none other than Spider-Man himself.

After you watch the episode, let us know which side you agree with in the comment section below, and please feel free to suggest any other topics we can battle over in future episodes!

I hope you enjoy the second episode of GeekTyrant VS! To watch the first episode, click here

Trailer for V/H/S: VIRAL Is a Creepy Good Time

The first trailer for the third film in the V/H/S horror anthology franchise, V/H/S: Viral, has been released, and it looks like it's going to be just as good as the first two films. I've enjoyed watching these films over the last few years, and I'm looking forward to part three. The first part of the trailer recaps the first two films, then it throws out a bunch of creepy-ass footage from the next installment.

This movie features segments from directors Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial), Marcel Sarmiento (ABCs of Death segment “D is for Dogfight”), Gregg Bishop (The Birds of Anger), Justin Benson (Wrecked), and Todd Lincoln (The Apparition). Here's the synopsis:

Fame-obsessed teens hell-bent on capturing the next viral video discover they are the stars of the latest internet sensation. V/H/S VIRAL is the third and most intense installment in the groundbreaking horror franchise from the world’s top genre filmmakers. V/H/S: VIRAL’s segments include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power, a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world, teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual, and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer. The segments are tied together by the story of a group of fame-obsessed teens following a violent car chase in LA that unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.

Magnet also announced that they will release the film, but as of right now there is no date. Apparently this is the first film in the series that won’t debut at Sundance. Thanks to Deadline for the trailer!

Cool Sci-Fi Action Short - ATLANTIS CONSPIRACY

Atlantis Conspiracy is a fun sci-fi action short film that was written and directed by James Lee. It's a proof of concept movie that was inspired by the myth and legend of Atlantis.

According to the director, they have feature length screenplay. They rewrote a segment from the it so they could produce this 6 minute clip where they introduce some of the preliminary ideas and conceptual sketches.

The story is set in the near future where there are "groups of resistance clans searching for the ancient Atlantis armor to battle against the new-world order paramilitaries." I thought the short was done really well, and with some money behind it could be a cool film.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Isn't Ruling out KICK-ASS 3

During a press conference for Godzilla, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked about possibly returning for a third Kick-Ass film. He may not be contractually obligated to star in Kick-Ass 3, but he's open to it if it happens. His co-star Bryan Cranston also chimed in and jokes about wanting to see Kick-Ass VS. Godzilla, which is something I think we'd all love to see!

Kick-Ass 2  left the door wide-open for a third movie. All we know about the third chapter at this point is that Millar has written a story for it. Who knows if a third movie will ever happen though? I hope it does! I absolutely love the Kick-Ass franchise, and the more films and comics that are released, the better.

Thank to Flicks And The City for the video of the press conference that you can watch below.

Jesse Eisenberg Talks Lex Luthor in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

Jesse Eisenberg recently did an interview with IGN, and in it he opened up a little bit about playing Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman. He's been pretty quiet about the movie since he has been cast, but right now he's out promoting his new film, The Double, so of course he's going to be bombarded with questions about it by the press.

Just yesterday we got our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman, and it seems like a lot of people are loving it. I personally don't think Batman has ever looked so badass on the big screen. It's going to be crazy watching him and Superman going up against Lex in the upcoming film.

When asked how much of a game changer his Lex Luthor will be from the versions of the character that we've seen in the past, Eisenberg says:

"It'll definitely be played by a different person, but I don't know really how different this -- I don't know the history as well as the people making the movie, so I guess it's up to them to figure out how much they want to separate it from previous incarnations. But I will treat it like it's its own role. There's no way to play the history of the character played by other people, unless you do some kind of wink, but that doesn't seem like a responsible way to act. So I will just do it as though it's a character, in the same way you do a movie like The Double, which is a smaller movie -- but you just kind of treat it like a character, and that's probably the best course of action, I think."

A lot of fans have been wondering if he's going to have the classic bald look in the film. When asked about it, he couldn't answer saying, "I'm not allowed to say anything, because of their privacy." It makes me wonder what Eisenberg thinks of all the fan art featuring him as a bald Lex. The actor goes on to talk about the character, and why he took on the role.

"The character's really good, so it's like doing anything else. They make a lot of those movies, so if you're an actor in things, you will probably cross paths with it at some point. But the character's written really well. It's a really great role. The fact that it's in a big movie, you know, it seems like a character that would be in any kind of movie. It just happens to be in a bigger, flashier kind of thing."

I think Eisenberg is going to be an awesome villain in Batman Vs. Superman. I can't wait to see what Snyder and the other filmmakers portray this character. The movie is set to open up on May 6th, 2016… I seriously hate that we have to wait that long.

Funny Images of Ben Affleck as Sad Batman

Yesterday, Zack Snyder offered fans their first look at Ben Affleck as Batman. I love the costume  design that they went with, and I think Affleck is going to be great in the role. It didn't take the internet long to come up and go crazy with "Sad Batman." There are some really amusing photoshopped images of Affleck as Batman looking very sad in different settings. Here's a few of them we came across at The Verge. Now that I've seen all these pictures, Batman does look incredibly sad in that picture. I don't know why he would be so sad standing next to such an insanely cool looking Batmobile.

DISNEY INFINITY 2.0 - A Character Wish List...and Beyond!

$

0

Disney and Marvel recently announced that the Avengers would be joining the Disney Infinity roster. Not only that, but the toy box creation game will also see a heavy influence in the form of playsets, with things like Stark Tower, Asgard, etc, all available for your imaginative perusal.

I’m beyond excited to see Marvel brought into the fun and weird world of Infinity, and while having the Avengers is great (seriously, I am not complaining one bit), here is a rundown of other things I would love to see infused into the Disney Infinity 2.0 edition down the road.

1. The X-Men

The Mutants known as the X-Men cover enough ground to be their own expansion pack down the line, if along with the team you would also get access to sentinels, the X-mansion, utopia, Magneto and the brotherhood as extra villains, etc. They could even put a very cutesy version of the Hellfire Club in there, what with them being kids and all. I'm not sure if that’s going to make the cut, but hey, it's worth a look. Being able to build my very own X-mansion complete with a crazy customized Danger Room that other players can run through as an obstacle course to challenge the best times is all the motivation I need to create.

2. Oliver and Company

Oliver and Company is among my favorite Disney films of all time, and sorely underrepresented in just about any media outside of the movie itself. The grungy art style from the movies would be a fun alternative to the more polished areas that abound in Infinity, and the piece de resistance (if it could be managed) would be to have that wonderful soundtrack playing while racing with Dodger on a hotdog cart.

Pardon me for a moment,  "Why should I worry?!” hmm hm hmm hm, hm, hm, hmm

3. Maleficent

Disney is all about synergy, so it bears to stand that the evilest lady of them all will get her own figure at least, if not a playset to go with. I want those evil otherworldly branches for my danger room.

The thing is while I was working on this post they actually teased Ms. Evil Horns appearance in the Disney Infinity U, which confirms the fortune telling powers I've been crowing about for years now, so whoop there it is!

While I possibly have powers of future sight, all my references tend to be from the late eighties or early nineties, so sorry about that in advance.

4. A Knight in Camelot

HaHa, just kidding. I love Whoopi, but no.

5. Aladdin

How this doesn’t have a set already is beyond me, but the world of Agrabah is so beautiful and stunning that it has to be recreated at some point. Throw in Genie, a magic carpet, the Cave of Wonders as a fully explorable area, and a Gilbert Godfried voiced Iago, and you got yourself a best seller.

Yeah, maybe nix the Iago thing.

6. Star Wars

You knew it was making the list. This is so much a no-brainer that I almost didn’t put it on the list, but it still deserves some love. You can already access a lightsaber as a weapon in Disney Infinity, but I want the Deathstar! I want Tie Fighters! I want the world! HAHAHAHAHA (Evil laugh sound while I stroke my evil grinning cat.)

Yeah, that old reference thing is annoying, right?

7. Atlantis

It should be quickly noted that while going through Disney’s vast library, I realized the amount of movies Lindsay Lohan was in is unreal. That girl put in work is all I’m saying.

Sorry, lost focus.

Atlantis was my favorite of the mid-90’s to mid-2000’s Disney Movies that no one seemed to care about, and I've always felt it was severely underrated. The animation was fantastic, the characters were all charming, and the art department was allowed to really flex their muscles on the project. Being able to use the inventive structures and vehicles along with having the chance to create vast cities under the seas would be an imaginative addition to Disney Infinity's creative arsenal.

8. An Angels in the Outfield Christopher Lloyd

C’mon, that would be fantastic and you know it. Plus, it allowed me to use this gif.

9. Herbie

I must have Herbie to cart me around my custom X-Mansion. It just won’t work any other way. Not the new Herbie though, the old Herbie, and yes, it does make a difference.

10. The Muppets

Because no Disney Infinity world is complete without a Bunsen and Beaker contained within it. Also if their road trip bus, complete with "Rainbow Connection" blasting in the background, was available, my childhood memories would thank you. The playsets should include the Muppet's Theater, and the sheer amount of character additions it would allow would be worth it alone.

11. A Brave Little Toaster figure

I don't know if I want the creepy air condition unit in Disney Infinity, but I want the Brave Little Toaster, because he's adorable, and toasted Pop Tarts rule.

12. Narnia

Having this fantasy world full of warring armies of Light and Dark opens up many opportunities that some of the other worlds don't quite offer. Creating your own fortress with armies made up of Minotars, Mice, Centaurs, Eagles, main man Aslan, etc, could be incredibly cool.

13. The Santa Clause

Stay with me here. Disney Infinity already has the Nightmare Before Christmas world represented, but darkness always needs light for balance, and what better light to have than Tim Allen's Santa Claus and his Christmas bandwagon? Including this movie would open all kinds of holiday assets to play with, and building your own warped version of the North Pole could lead to some wonderfully weird results.

14. Winnie the Pooh and Friends

The inclusion of these characters is still one of my most fond memories from Kingdom Hearts, which alone will probably get me some eye rolls, but the game truly captured the fun loving and sweet nature of the residents of the 100 acre wood. Using the characters alone would be a boon, but throwing the storybook stylized elements into the toy box could compliment their other playsets, such as Monster's University, quite well.

Winnie the Pooh needs a giant honey pot for his vehicle. It could then turn into a giant mechanized honey pot ala Sweet Tooth, when he gets mad.

Right? I know, I'm ahead of my time.

15. The house from Up

Because going about your day is instantly made memorable when you see a house attached to loads of balloons flying across the sky.

16. Wall-E

Wall-E and Eve need their own little place in Infinity. Eve could bring her attitude and her cannon arm to the festivities, while Wall-E brings his adorableness (is that word?) and has the ability to launch cubes of trash at his opponents. Instant fun for everyone!

Alright, that's my piece. Let us know what worlds and stories you would like to see coming down the pike from Disney Infinity in the comments below.

Batman: The Animated Series is one of the greatest animated shows ever made. I came across a live action shot-for-shot remake of the classic opening sequence created by Tomi Pietilä. It includes in-depth discussions with the cast and crew of the movie, and it's also loaded with new footage. If you're a fan of Godzilla, this video is definitely worth checking out.

The next season of Family Guy is going to kick off with the long awaited crossover episode with The Simpsons, and today we give you your first look at it. The images feature Homer, Peter, Bart, and Stewie. This is sure to be a great episode. Here's a story description:

Peter (Seth MacFarlane) and the Griffins get out of dodge and end up in Springfield, where they are greeted by a friendly stranger named Homer Simpson (guest voice Dan Castellaneta), who welcomes his new “albino” friends with open arms. The families get along famously: Stewie (MacFarlane) becomes obsessed with Bart (guest voice Nancy Cartwright) and his old-fashioned pranks; Lisa (guest voice Yeardley Smith) takes Meg (Mila Kunis) under her wing and is determined to find something – anything – at which she excels; Marge (guest voice Julie Kavner) and Lois (Alex Borstein) ditch housework for a little bonding; and Peter and Homer fight over the best beer in town – Pawtucket vs Duff.

Also, in case you missed the LEGO episode of The Simpsons, the full thing is now available to watch thanks to Hulu! Last week's episode was one of the more entertaining episodes that I've seen in a long time. I loved that it was almost fully animated in the world of LEGO. I've embedded the episode for you to watch below.

Creepy Trailer for the Eric Bana's Horror Film DELIVER US FROM EVIL

We've got the second trailer for producer Jerry Bruckheimer's new horror thriller Deliver Us From Evil. This is a great looking movie that comes to us from Sinister director, Scott Derrickson. The film also has a solid cast of actors that includes Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, and Joel McHale.

The film was inspired by the true stories of New York Police Officer Ralph Sarchie (Bana) who was assigned numerous supernatural cases. As his cases became more and more crazy, he brought in a priest (Ramirez) to help him out.

I love horror movies, and I think this one looks like it will be pretty awesome. It's also good to see Bana in a lead role again! That guy has become a very underused actor.

In DELIVER US FROM EVIL, New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based upon the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.

The movie is set to be released on July 2nd. Thanks to Machinima for the trailer!

The Rock is easily my favorite film that Michael Bay has made in his career, and I wish that he would make films like this again. The Transformers films have been fun, but The Rock was just a badass masterpiece of an action film, and it would be so cool to see him make a real hardcore R-rated action movie like this again.

Artist Patrick Connan created this poster for the 1996 film for Hero Complex Gallery. There is a "Gas" edition and a "Flare" edition. They are 18x26 inch screen prints and they will cost you 50 bones.

This is such a great poster design and a must own for any fan of the film.

The CW has released the first promo for The Flash, and what's interesting about it is that you see more of the Green Arrow than you do of The Flash. It's a great teaser, though! The promo basically highlights Flash's costume, what it looks like when he runs, and it offers a taste of the character's personality. From a first short glance, the series looks like it's going to be  very entertaining. Here's a synopsis:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

The spin-off series is set to premiere in the fall!
