Warner Bros and director J.A. Bayona are set to bring us the film adaptation of Patrick Ness’ book A Monster Calls. The screenplay is being adapted by the author. Screen Daily announced that Liam Neeson has joined the cast as the monster. Here is their synopsis of the story:
Thirteen-year-old Conor O’Malley is troubled by his mother’s declining health, school bullies and the yew tree in his backyard that transforms at night into a monster that narrates strange stories.
Over time what the terrifying visitor tells the boy enables him to come to terms with life’s truths
The movie also stars Felicity Jones and is set to be released Oct. 2016.
There is no info whether Neeson is going to be doing Motion Capture for this film or what. If all that he lends is his voice, it will be totally worth it. Neeson is a much better actor than his action films lead you to believe. I am thoroughly interested in seeing what this movie has to offer.
