ORLANDO AROCENA

Poster Posse’s latest art series pays tribute to the upcoming Disney sci-fi movie Tomorrowland. The movie was directed by Brad Bird from a script written by Damon Lindelof, and it’s really quite an incredible adventure that you’re going to want to see.

I’ve include a few pieces of art for the film below that were created by various artists. They all capture the imagination of Tomorrowland, which is a place that I really wish actually existed…outside of Disneyland theme parks, of course.

The movie will be released in theaters on May 22nd, so make sure to check it out!

AMERICAN HORROR STORY Meets GLEE in SCREAM QUEENS Trailer

Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story and Glee, is bringing us a new teen comedy/slasher anthology series that kind of combines the elements of the other shows that he has worked on. It's called Scream Queens, and it focuses on a sorority house that is terrorized by a serial killer known as the Red Devil.

American Horror Story alum Emma Roberts takes on the lead role of the Kappa House HBIC Chanel, while Jamie Lee Curtis plays the school dean. The series looks exactly like what you would expect from Murphy, and it looks like it could be a fun show.

The girls of Kappa House are dying for new pledges. SCREAM QUEENS is a new killer comedy-horror series from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning executive producers of GLEE and “American Horror Story.”
Wallace University is rocked by a string of murders. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, CHANEL OBERLIN (Emma Roberts). But when anti-Kappa DEAN MUNSCH (Jamie Lee Curtis) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time. Part black comedy, part slasher flick, SCREAM QUEENS is a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder… or could easily be the next blood-soaked casualty.

New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Details on Doomsday and the "Do You Bleed" Scene

$

Last year it was reportedly confirmed that Doomsday would be one the main villains in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It wasn't hard to believe that Doomsday would appear in the movie, we just weren't sure how big of a role he would end up playing in the story. Thanks to Umberto Gonzalez a.k.a. El Mayimbe we have some additional details on Doomsday's involvement in the film.

I'll go ahead and throw out a SPOILER warning just in case. If you don't want to know anything, don't read any further. The following information was revealed on the ShanlianOnBatman Podcast.

Gonzalez compared Doomsday's role in the story to Darth Vader in Star Wars, who was basically the main henchman of Grand Moff Tarkin, the brains behind the construction of the Death Star in the story. Doomsday is described as muscle in Dawn of Justice, and I assume he's working for Lex Luthor, who will serve as the film’s main villain. As you know Luthor isn't really a threat physically unless he’s wearing that green and purple exosuit from the comics.

Gonzales goes on to say that the live action version of Doomsday looks "incredible." He's posted several pieces of concept art from the film over the last month, so it's believable that he has seen what DC Entertainment and Snyder are planning for the character.

There's also an interesting SPOILER that's revealed during the conversation. Apparently the "Do You Bleed" scene in the film that we've seen in the trailer is actually a dream sequence, and it's not really happening. So will we see Batman and Superman really fight in the film? Hopefully! That's what the studios marketing campaign seems to be built around.

Regardless of what happens between these two heroic characters they will eventually come together to try and take down Lex Luthor and Doomsday. I doubt that it will play out like what we've seen in the comics though, judging by where Warner Bros. wants to take the DC cinematic universe. It's not like they are already going to kill off Superman.

I included the podcast below, and the conversation regarding this information starts around 38:00 minute mark.

Trailer for the RETURN TO SENDER Thriller with Rosamund Pike and Nick Nolte

Here’s a trailer for an intriguing new thriller called Return to Sender which stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Nick Nolte. This looks like a solid film that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Pike Plays a small town nurse who is brutally attacked and raped in her own home by a mysterious man (Shiloh Fernandez). Following his arrest, Miranda starts to regularly visit him in jail and build a relationship with her attacker. She befriends him against her father’s (Nolte) advice. "Unable to understand his daughters intentions he fears for her safety come the time her assailant is released…but has he underestimated her strength and resolve?”

Image Entertainment will be distributing the film in the US, but no release date has been set yet.

Here’s a set of four Japanese posters for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Unfortunately for the Japanese, they won’t get to see the movie until July 4th. The posters give off a very different kind of vibe than what you would see here in the States. You’ve got the whole Bruce Banner and Black Widow romance aspect of it in one, and one that involves a major spoiler regarding Hawkeye, which I placed at the very bottom of the post. If you’ve seen the movie then you know exactly what spoiler I’m talking about.

Insane Behind-the-Scenes Footage For MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

One of the things that made Mad Max: Fury Road so incredibly badass was the fact that director George Miller insisted on using real stunts and practical effects to make his movie. The movie did use a little CGI, like that insane sandstorm scene. But most of the stunts that we saw in the film were the real deal.

We've got an amazing behind-the-scenes video for you to watch that gives us a look at how many of these stunts and effects were pulled off during the films production, and it's pretty freakin' cool. Watching this video is almost as entertaining as watching the movie itself, so if you liked the movie, then you'll want to check this out. I also included an additional video that includes the director talking about the film, and what he wanted to accomplish with it.

Teaser Trailer for Danny Boyle’s STEVE JOBS with Michael Fassbender

"No one sees the world the same way you do."

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for director Danny Boyle’s upcoming film Steve Jobs. It offers us our first look at the film, which includes Michael Fassbender in the title role; Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak; Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman; and Jeff Daniels as former Apple President John Scully.

As you’ll see in the trailer, Fassbender completely disappeared in the role of Jobs, and it’s pretty incredible to see how well he fits into the shoes of Apple’s CEO. The film was written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and it focuses on three of his major accomplishments. Here’s a brief synopsis:

Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

The three product launches include the Mac in 1984, the NeXT in 1997 and the iPod in 2001.  It’s still hard to tell how this movie turns out, but I do like this trailer, and the vibe that it gives off, and I can’t wait to see more.

“Well, I was born yesterday.”

Here’s Hot Toys latest edition to their Avengers: Age of Ultron 1/6th scale collectible action figure series. The Vision was such a cool addition to the team in the film, and the character was perfectly played by Paul Bettany. The figure that Hot Toys created for him turned out to be awesome, and I love how they included Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, in the set.

Here’s the description that came along with the figure reveal.

One of the biggest highlights of the record-breaking Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is the introduction of the new characters in the film! Originally planned to be the perfect “evolution” for Ultron, the Avengers was able to retrieve the android Vision and made him a valuable ally for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stop Ultron from eradicating mankind!
Today, Hot Toys is excited to present the humanoid hero that many fans have been waiting for – the 1/6th scale Vision Collectible Figure!
The movie-accurate Vision Collectible Figure is specially crafted based on his image in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It features a newly developed head sculpt with detailed texture and Mind Stone, specially tailored costume and cape, Thor’s hammer Mjölnir, and a specially designed figure stand.
Your Avengers: Age of Ultron collection wouldn’t be complete without the addition of this powerful android!

Is Disney Planning on Having STAR WARS and MARVEL TV Channels?

is-disney-planning-on-having-star-wars-and-marvel-tv-channels

It sounds like somewhere down the road we’ll have a couple cool new channels to browse through when we're looking for something to watch. Disney CEO Bob Iger was on an investors call last week, and he casually brought up the prospect of creating TV channels for both Star Wars and Marvel. As many of you probably already know, Disney has a lot of channels, such as ESPN, ABC, Disney, Disney XD, and Disney Jr. to name a few. Adding a couple more to the mix isn't going to hurt.

Daily Finance had the quote from Iger, which reads,

“We have said that with these channels and these brands — ESPN, ABC, Disney, maybe even down the road something related to Star Wars and Marvel — we do have an ability as a company to take product, specifically filmed entertainment, television, movies, directly to consumers.”

Iger didn’t go into any details on what the plans might be for these channels, but they would obviously revolve around Star Wars and Marvel stuff. The channels would also most likely provide a mix of already existing movie and TV show content with new and original content that could be developed specifically for each channel.

There's obviously a high demand for these two properties, so it makes sense that Disney would want to expand on them and give them TV channels of their own.

Last week some set photos from Captain America: Civil War surfaced, and they gave us our first look at Crossbones in costume, along with shots of the new uniforms that Captain America and The Falcon will be wearing. We now have a video from the set that features Anthony Mackie's Falcon flying through a crowd of people on the street and kicking some bad guy in the face.

The Instagram video you can watch below comes to us from an Atlanta-resident, and as you can see, Falcon isn't sporting his signature wings. Those will be added in post-production thanks to the magic of CGI. The video is short, but it's still kind of cool to see The Falcon in action.

Is This Black Panther's Story Arc in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?

$
0

Some new information has surfaced regarding Black Panther's potential story arc in Captain America: Civil War. If you don't want to know what that is, then I suggest you don't read beyond this point as there are SPOILERS ahead.

The following information comes from Umberto Gonzalez and his new publication Heroic Hollywood. He used to be a journalist at Latino-Review, but is in the process of transitioning to his new site.

This is what he had to say regarding Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War:

In #CaptainAmerica #CivilWar, the #BlackPanther is on the hunt for #TheWinterSoldier. Can you guess why?

So now not only are Captain America (Chris Evans) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) looking for Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), so is T’Challa. Fan speculation suggests that the reason Black Panther is looking for Barnes is because there's a possibility that maybe he assassinated his father, King T’Chaka, in the MCU. After all, The Winter Solider has left a trail of blood over the years. It makes sense that T'Chaka would be one of his targets.

That's just one of several reasons that Black Panther could be after Barnes. In the comics King T’Chaka is murdered by Klaw, who was introduced to audiences in Avengers: Age of Ultron, played by Andy Serkis. My question is, why would they take away one of Klaw's biggest story arcs?

I think that there may be a little more to why Black Panther is hunting down Barnes, and we'll eventually find out what that is. In the meantime, do you have any ideas on why Panther wants The Winter Soldier?

Grant Gustin Writes Heartfelt Thank You Letter to Fans of THE FLASH

The Flash has become one of the best series that TV has to offer. When I first started watching it, I didn’t realize that it was going to be as awesome as it became. It went above and beyond what I was expecting, and I can’t wait to see how this first season comes to a close.

The star of the show, Grant Gustin, wrote a wonderful letter to the fans of The Flash thanking them for their support and the success of the first season. The guy doesn’t take his success for granted, and it's so cool to see how grateful he is for what he and the Flash team have accomplished.

Here’s the letter that he posted:

It's happening, guys. The finale is finally here. THIS TUESDAY. It was a long, emotional season and it's all about to come to an end. Well, there will be some closure at least. It is the season finale of The Flash after all.. it can't be ALL sunshine and smiles. You'll just have to come back for season 2.
Check out the trailer if you please. I do suppose it could be considered SOMEWHAT spoilery. As usual though, it does not reallyyyyyy give away any of the big reveals...
AGAIN, I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for tuning in to our show all season and making it the hit that it has become. Every time I stop and think about the fact that I get to play The Flash and Barry Allen and there are people out there that love our show... I can't even fully explain it to be honest. It almost feels like I'm watching it happen to someone else at times. I will always feel grateful for getting to do what I love to do and now I have all of you to thank for helping me get to do that, AND on what I think is a ground breaking show led by geniuses Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Geoff Johns. I really believe they are the perfect people to be bringing this iconic character to life. They love this character & they're incredibly passionate about getting him right. They're also pretty okay guys and I love working with them. I feel incredibly lucky.
I also feel very lucky to get to work with the cast & crew every single day on this show. We have spent some lonnnggggg days & nights together and we all know how challenging it was to make every single one of the 23 episodes we made this season. I have so much respect for every person I got to work with on this first season. It was no joke.
I especially love our cast. Jesse, Tom, Candice, Danielle, Los & Pretty Ricky. The "we moved to Canada to make this tv show" group. I love you all. You inspire me every day and getting to work with you is a dream. Our show doesn't accidentally rock. It's because you all bust your butts because you want to and it's fun. I can't wait to start season 2 with you.
I can't not mention awesome cast members John Wesley Shipp, Patrick Sabongui, Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, Brandon Routh, Paul Blackthorne, Katie Cassidy, Wentworth Miller, Dom Purcell, Victor Garber, Liam McIntyre, Malese Jow, Clancy Brown, Michelle Harrison, Logan Williams, Greg Finley, Chad Rook, Nicholas Gonzalez, Andy Mientus, Emily Kinney, Paul Anthony, Anthony Carrigan, Dani Nicolet, Britne Oldford, Micah Parker, Devon Graye, Chase Masterson, Doug Jones, Peyton List, Kelly Frye, Roger Howarth, Michael Smith, Matt Letscher, Michael Reventar, Amanda Pays, Isabella Hofmann, Jeremy Schuetze, Robert Knepper, Vito D'Ambrosio, Al Sapienza, David Ramsey, William Sadler & Mark Hamill. I realize that's a long list of people, but for me being relatively "new" to the business and having never been a regular a show before, getting to work with all of those actors and watching them help bring our show to life always made it feel like that much more of an authentic world to me. Those are some heavy hitters and bad ass actors on that list. SO i guesses I should also thank David Rapaport for bringing all of them to us and for jump starting this opportunity for me as well.
OKAY.
I apologize for the ramble.
Thank you for putting up with it if you made it through all of my poor grammar and absurd train of thought.
Point is...thank you & watch the season finale please.

First Official Look at WARCRAFT's Orgrim Doomhammer

$

We were a little disappointed in Universal's decision to bump Duncan Jones' Warcraft back to next summer, but only because we're so excited to see the adaptation. It's been in the works for a long time, and there's a chance it could be one of the very, very few — some might even say "only" — good films based on a video game. Universal's delay is actually a sign of confidence: positioning the film as a big time summer contender is much better than dropping it somewhere in March and hoping for the best. So with more than a year to go until release, Wired Magazine now has our first look at one of the main characters.

This is the film's version of Orgrim Doomhammer, the leader of the Horde who is destined to wield a powerful orc weapon known as the Doomhammer. He's played by actor Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim, True Blood). Industrial Light & Magic is responsible for creating the look of this character, but don't worry, gamers — the people at Blizzard definitely had some input:

Orgrim’s likeness comes from the masterminds at Industrial Light and Magic, who took concept art from Blizzard Entertainment—creators of the massive World of Warcraft videogame franchise on which Jones’ film is based—and merged it with photographs and scans of Kazinsky to create the orc.

What do you think about the character's look?

Warcraft arrives in theaters on June 10th, 2016.

Little Devil Inside — A Charming Game Of Survival

At this point, I’m just wondering how I missed this little gem of a game from the developers at Neostream. Little Devil Inside has 7 days left to go on its Kickstarter campaign, and it would be a real shame if the title didn’t meet its funding goal. The developers credit games like X-Com, Zelda, and System Shock for its root inspirations. Animation-wise, it does indeed bring back fond memories of games like Wind Waker specifically, but with a wondrous flair all its own. The world they have created is beautiful in its simplicity, but that simplicity doesn’t necessarily extend to the gameplay. Neostream is attempting to blend the action RPG and survival genre into something truly unique, and the combat system already boasts some slick animations and a surprising amount of viciousness.

Your capable yet decidedly human protagonist works for a professor, who needs you to handle the riskier missions related to bringing back artifacts and materials for his research. If you watch the trailer, you can see he even accompanies you on some of your journey. This leads us to one of the more intriguing parts of the game — that of faculty management. Since you work for the professor, you also maintain part of the faculty you work for, and are able to hire members of your team, and send them on various missions and the like. Hopefully the management portion doesn’t stop there. Systems like that can really add another level of replayability and motivation for the player to  travel back to home base between missions.

The game will also allow for co-op play, and if funded will be released for Steam (Windows, Mac, and Linux) as well as PS4 and XBox One.

If Little Devil Inside looks like a potential winner, make sure to throw them your support on their Kickstarter Page, or just spread the word. I mean c'mon, do you really want to make this little guy sad?

Here’s a wonderfully brilliant series of Star Wars fan art that will take you back to your childhood days of imagination and wonder. The art you see here was created by Craig Davison, and as I was going through them, I was reminded of the simpler times where my imagination was some of the greatest entertainment in the world. My friends and I could insert ourselves into any movie adventure we wanted with our imaginations.

We’ve posted some of Davison’s work in the past, but he’s added some much more to his collection since then, and I just had to share them with you. I definitely need to look into buying some of these prints. The guy perfectly captures the awesomeness of being a Star Wars fan as a kid.

Background Info on the Insane Fire-Spouting Guitar Guy in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

background-info-on-the-insane-fire-breathing-guitar-guy-in-mad-max-fury-road

Mad Max: Fury Road exploded in theaters this past weekend, and audiences seemed to love it! This was easily one of the most entertaining movies I’ve seen this year. I’ve already seen the film twice, and I’m sure I’ll see it a couple more times before it leaves theaters.

If you've seen the film, then you know the story was full of very interesting and colorful characters. One of the crazier characters in the film was the mad flamethrower electric guitarist of death, who was dressed in red. That character is known as The Coma-Doof Warrior, and thanks to an interview with Fandango, George Miller has revealed some background information on the fascinating character, and where he came from.

There are going to be some prequel comics that give us the background stories of the main villain of the story Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and Nux (Nicholas Hoult). Another character that Miller would like to tell an origin story of is Coma-Doof, but it’s not in the plans right now.

"One character who didn’t get his own comic was the Doof Warrior. I want to tell a story about him in a comic if there’s an opportunity. For me, it was all about how someone who is blind survives in this place. How does someone weak survive the apocalypse? He survived because he was blind – because he lived deep in an unlit mine, where it was an advantage to be blind."

He then gives a little information regarding where the character came from:

"So, deep in the mine, he would sit there and eat rodents and get the water from the sea bed -- and he would also play his guitar where no one could hear it. One day Immortan Joe came past, and someone heard the music. Then he was called upon when [Joe] needed a bugler or the bagpipe -- someone who helps call everyone to war."

That gives you a brief idea of how this character came to be in the story, and it’s an intriguing bit of info that makes me want to learn more about him. Miller also teased the background of Immortan Joe:

"He was a colonel named Joe Moore. He was military, and he organized everybody, eventually being able to exploit a cult as he took over this dominance hierarchy."

Then, when briefly talking about Nux, he said:

"When we decided to put out some comics, we had to go back to everyone to see who they were, and Nux [played by Nicholas Hoult] is a great one because it follows him as a little baby, showing how he became a war pup and then a war boy. That was one of the first comics we did."
