Al Pacino Has Met with Marvel for a Movie Role

0
0

A few months ago, legendary actor Al Pacino said that he would be interested in getting involved with a Marvel film project. The actor has now revealed that he has actually met with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, and that they might just be lining up a role for him! During a recent interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the actor admitted,

"I've met with the Marvel guy. It's a Marvel how things happen [Laughs]."

The actor then goes on to talk about how much he enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy, and then goes back to talking about what he and Feige have discussed:

"Yeah. I would imagine that either there's something he feels is right for me and if I feel..."

Before he can finish his thought the phone rings and Pacino makes a humorous crack that it's Feige calling to stop him from saying anything more. In reality it was probably his publicist calling to tell him to shut up.

It definitely sounds like something is brewing between Marvel and Pacino, but what character could it be?! There's really no way to tell at this point, but speculate away! I just think it's great that they are going to try and figure something out.

Sand People Have Way Worse Aim Than Stormtroopers - LEGO Short

0
0

In most of the scuffles Imperial stormtroopers get into with the Rebel Alliance, they appear to have terrible aim. Pretty much the only time they've showed any type of precision was in the offscreen murders of Luke’s aunt and uncle and the Jawas that picked up R2-D2 and C-3PO — though, many fan theories surmise that Boba Fett actually killed Luke’s adoptive parents. In this video by Brotherhood Workshop (released by HISHE), Obi Wan explains to Luke that Tusken Raiders have much, much worse aim.

New Spoiler Details on BATMAN V SUPERMAN - Learn Who Is Already Dead

0
0

Some new SPOILER filled information has been released for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. One of the things mentioned in the report is a character who is already dead when the story begins. If you don't want to know any other information, then I suggest you don't read ahead.

Ben Affleck's Batman has been kicking ass in Gotham for 17 years by the time the story begins for Batman v Superman. There's a lot that has happened over the years, Batman has seen a lot of crazy action. A lot of them are apparently untold stories in this universe. This news comes from Badass Digest, who also says that some of these stories could actually be explored in other standalone Batman movies, "if Warner Bros is going to maintain this continuity for the next decade, as they seem committed to doing."

The site goes on to say that one of the stories that could yet be told is the death of a major player in Batman's universe. This is your last chance to turn back now if you don't want to know!

Here's the information that the site provides:

"In this continuity James Gordon has, at some point in the past, bitten the dust. How and at whose hands I cannot tell you - all that's noted in the script is that there's a memorial plaque to James Gordon. This explains why the role wasn't cast for the film, at least."

I've always been a fan of Jim Gordon, and I'm kind of sad to hear that he won't be a part of Batman v Superman. At least we have the TV series Gotham to give us our fill of Jim Gordon entertainment. They go on to offer some additional information, saying,

"Most of the story takes place in Metropolis although there are two major fight scenes in Gotham (one where Superman comes looking for Batman and a climactic fight scene) - but it could have big consequences for the new DC Movieverse. While pre-Terrio drafts of the script mentioned a deceased Robin, later iterations closer to the start of shooting don't - perhaps in this continuity The Joker killed Jim Gordon instead of Robin? That would be an interesting spin, and something that could feed into future Batman movies."

That actually would be a very interesting spin on things. There's no official word on what Warner Bros. is planning for their stand alone Batman films, but they did make it possible to make several of them that, according to the report, "could take place over the course of the character's 17 year career with a younger lead." That's just speculation at this point, but it would work. It sounds like they are going to be doing the same thing with Wonder Woman, as previously reported. So it is plausible. Regardless of what the studio is planning, I'm sure that we'll have our fair share of Batman solo movies.

It's going to be really interesting to see how this DC cinematic universe comes together once it actually starts rolling.

Captain America Premium S.H.I.E.L.D. Strike Stealth Hoodie

If you need to covertly take down a ship of pirates or go one-on-one against a S.H.I.E.L.D. quinjet, Captain America’s Strike Stealth suit is the perfect outfit. If you’re looking for that same stealth and style, sans the bulletproof kevlar, this Captain America premium hoodie from Think Geek is the way to go.

All of the other hoodies I’ve seen modeled after this suit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier have had very cheap screening. This is the best one I’ve seen so far, with its embroidered logo and braided belts and metal sliders.

SyFy Developing KRYPTON TV Series with David Goyer

0
0

About a month ago, a rumor was reported that David Goyer was developing a Superman prequel series called Krypton. It looks like those rumors were true, and THR has confirmed that the SyFy Channel is developing the show with Goyer. We even have some plot details!

According to the report, Krypton "takes place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This drama, which is in development, follows the Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known."

I love this concept, and I'm really happy to hear that this series is actually happening. This has the potential to be an epic show. I'm really curious to see how they bring the world of Krypton to life on the small screen. Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time, FlashForward) is writing the script for the pilot and will also executive produce alongside Goyer.

There are a ton of DC Entertainment projects going on, such as The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Constantine. TNT is also developing a series called Titans. That show will revolve around a group of superheroes-to-be based on characters from the DC universe that includes Dick Grayson, Starfire, Raven, and more.

DC Entertainment has been doing awesome in the TV department, and I'm excited to see how it all comes together.

Some new details have surfaced about Pixar's Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory. It was previously revealed that the story will take place a year after the first film and that it will be set along the California coastline. As far as the story goes,

"A traumatizing event sets off Dory’s 'homing instinct,' and the forgetful fish sets out in search of her family, who are living on a reef. Meanwhile, Nemo and Marlin are out looking for her."

Pixar president Jim Morris revealed some interesting new information at the Comic Con Experience Brazil. At the convention he showed off some art and unfinished scenes from the upcoming sequel and offered some additional details.

One of the biggest reveals is that the story will be mainly set in the Marine Biology Institute of California, which is a huge rehabilitation complex for marine life. Dory learns she was born and raised at the institute and was then released in the ocean when she was a kid. New characters will also be introduced, such as an octopus, sea lions, a beluga whale, and others.

The impressive cast includes Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Willem Dafoe, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Idris Elba, Dominic West, and Ty Burrell. The movie hits theaters on June 17th, 2016.

Another featurette has been released for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It’s called “Memories From Middle Earth” and it puts a focus on the fans of the fantasy adventure saga. It includes interviews with fans who have loved the franchise since the very beginning with the Lord of the Rings films. The Lord of the Rings trilogy films are my number one favorite films of all time, and I’m one of many things I’m excited to see is how this final Hobbit film transitions into that story. The movie comes out on December 17th, 2015.

Awe-Inspiring Cinematic Space Tribute Video Montage

Max Shishkin has created a stunning video montage that pays tribute to the incredible space films that we’ve enjoyed watching over the years. I love these films, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for movies that take place in space. Especially after films like Christopher Nolan's Interstellar and James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, because they both kind of raised the bar.

First TV Spot for Bradley Cooper’s AMERICAN SNIPER - “Lethal”

first-tv-spot-for-bradley-coopers-american-sniper-lethal

The first TV spot for director Clint Eastwood’s intense looking war thriller American Sniper has been released. The spot offers us some new footage from the movie in which Bradley Cooper plays Chris Kyle, who has been labeled the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history.

The reviews have been mixed for this movie, but there’s a combination of things surrounding this film that I really like. On top of being a huge fan of Eastwood and Cooper, I also enjoy films that have a military setting. I’ve been looking forward to this movie since it was first announced, and nothing can keep me from being excited about it.

U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend.” However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.
Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the SEAL creed to “leave no man behind.” But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.

The movie also stars Sienna Miller, Jake McDorman, Luke Grimes, Navid Negahban, and Keir O’Donnell. It's set to be released in theaters on January 16th, 2015.

Jared Leto as The Joker in SUICIDE SQUAD Fan Art

Here's an amazing piece of fan art that gives us our best look yet at what Jared Leto might look like as The Joker in director David Ayer's big screen adaptation of Suicide Squad. The image has been making the rounds on Facebook, and as you can see, this is a very sinister and nightmarish version of Batman's great foe. A lot of fans seem to be completely on board with Leto taking on this villainous DC character, and why wouldn't we be? He's a great actor who is sure to give us a new and fresh take on Joker. I'm looking forward to the day that we get to see our first actual look at the actor in full makeup and costume.

Jesus is back in New IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE Trailer

"I have not come to bring peace, but a sword!"

A month ago we showed you the first trailer for Iron Sky: The Coming Race which featured Adolf Hitler riding on a T-Rex. Today we have a new trailer for you to watch called "Jesus is Back!" and well... Jesus is back, and more badass than ever. This could possibly be offensive to some people, but I wouldn't know because I'm not easily offended. Plus, this is an Iron Sky movie, so if you liked the first one, then you should know what you're getting yourself into with the sequel.

The trailer was posted by Jukka Hilden of The Dude Sons, who is playing Jesus in the movie.

"Guess what, I'm playing Jesus in the next Iron Sky movie! Jesus Dudeson riding dinosaurs and shooting machine guns, what more could you ask for a movie role... Oh yeah, teaming up with Vladimir Putin, Mark Zuckenberg, Margaret Thatcher etc. to destroy the world.

"Yup, an idea I said yes to right away when they asked me to play a badass Jesus in the next Iron Sky movie. Super excited for this project and wanted to post this teaser here right away so you guys get it first! Hope you enjoy it!"

The film takes place twenty years after WWIII, and the survivors have to fight against Adolf Hitler and his army of dinosaurs. It has been described as "Iron Sky meets Jurassic Park goes Indiana Jones."

The producers of the film have a crowdfunding campaign in place, and they need to raise $10 million over the next 17 months to fund the feature. The first Iron Sky movie was ridiculously fun, and this sequel looks like it will be even more insane.

Listen to The Avengers and Captain Picard Sing Christmas Carols

'Tis the season to be a Marvel fan! The Avengers assemble to wish you a merry Christmas in this music video edit created by James Covenant. The creator basically edited together words spoken by the superheroes in the Marvel films and cut them all together to give us this Christmas carol video montage. I love how he used Groot to fill in for words that he couldn't find like "Yuletide" and the phrase "Christmas Cheer." I also included a video of Captain Picard and his crew from Star Trek: The Next Generation singing "Let it Snow."

First Trailer for Robert Zemeckis' THE WALK Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

0
0

The Walk is based on the true story of Philippe Petit, who in 1974 illegally walked a tightrope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. It is directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Petit. The trailer has no dialog and simply has Gordon-Levitt stepping to the edge of one of the Twin Towers. With Zemeckis' great visual eye and Gordon-Levitt's acting the whole things is pretty riveting. I can't wait to see more.

Synopsis:

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

Cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, and James Badge Dale.

The Walk will open in theaters October 2nd, 2015 (USA).

30 Pieces of Variant Cover Art for Marvel's STAR WARS #1

Marvel is going to release their Star Wars #1 comic book on January 14th, 2015, and according to reports, it has potential to be the best selling comic in the past two decades. ComicBook.com says that Marvel will sell a million copies of the comic when when it's released next year. It's hard to tell if that will actually be the case, but I guess it could happen.

These comics will be set shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. So it takes place between then and The Empire Strikes Back. There are three comics that are being coordinated with Lucasfilm to make sure that they line up with both the original films and whatever is coming in Episode VII, VIII, IX and whatever else Lucasfilm in planning.

Princess Leia #1, kicking off a five-issue miniseries in March, 2015 by writer Mark Waid and artist Terry Dodson.
Star Wars #1, launching in January, 2015 from writer Jason Aaron and artist John Cassaday.
Darth Vader #1, following close behind in February, 2015 by Kieron Gillen with art by Salvador Larroca.

The comic publisher is also offering a ton of variant covers for the comic. I've included thirty of them here for you to check out! I'm sure there will be more to come.

International Trailer for THE LITTLE PRINCE Film Adaptation

0

trailer-for-big-screen-adaptation-of-the-little-prince

An international trailer has been released for the big screen adaptation of The Little Prince. The film is based on the book by the French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The film was made with a mix of CG and stop-motion animation.

The trailer is completely in French, but it does give us our first look at what we can expect to see in the movie. Since the book is so short, the filmmakers took creative liberties to add a few things to stretch it out into a feature length film. Basically they set the story in a new narrative with the use of a little girl who discovers the Prince's adventures with the stranded pilot/author from the story. I do have to say that the film looks absolutely beautiful.

The Little Prince stars Riley Osborne as the Prince, Marion Cotillard as The Rose, Rachel McAdams as The Mother, James Franco as The Fox, Jeff Bridges as The Aviator, Benicio del Toro as The Snake, Ricky Gervais as The Conceited Man, Paul Giamatti as The Teacher, Albert Brooks as Businessman, Bud Cort as The King, and Mackenzie Foy as The Girl.

The film is set for release in France on October 7th, 2015. No US or UK release date has been announced yet.

Quentin Tarantino Films Mashed Together with The Muppets

This video that recreates several scenes from some of Quentin Tarantino's films using scenes from the Muppet movies is freakin' awesome. It was created by CinemaSins Jeremy, and it just made my day. It's so funny watching the words of Tarantino's characters coming out of the mouths of these Muppets. The video came with the following caption:

"Let's put Tarantino's words (and music) in the mouths of Muppets and see what happens."

16 New Photos from Disney’s CINDERELLA

Kenneth Branagh’s live-action adaptation of Cinderella looks like it’s going to be a fun, magical ride. Thanks to Disney (via Stitch Kingdom) we have a collection of high resolution photos from the movie that show off the beautiful and colorful visuals that the movie has to offer. You can check out the trailer here, and the rest of the images are below.

The story of Cinderella follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to ‘have courage and be kind.’ She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) steps forward and — armed with a pumpkin and a few mice — changes Cinderella’s life forever.

The movie comes out on March 13th, 2015.

3D Printed Customizable STAR WARS Crossguard Lightsaber

0

3d-printed-customizable-star-wars-crossguard-lightsaber

3D printing is a huge craze these days! It seems like everyone, , except me, is doing 3D printed stuff. For anyone that has an “army of 3D printers” you can now make your own Star Wars: The Force Awakens inspired crossguard lightsaber. I’ve included a video below for you to watch and you can get the instructions on how to make the saber right here. Maybe it’s about the time that I start looking into a 3D printer. It seems like it would really come in handing for making cosplay gear... if I cosplayed.

All of this comes from the FabShop who says:

On Friday, November 20th, we were part of the 30 million people to keep their breath while watching the trailer for the next Star Wars movie.
As designers, we were surprised to discover a new configuration of the lightsaber revealed in the now epic (and polemic) scene showing an unknown Sith Lord walking in a snowy forest.
As Makers, we couldn’t help but try to find out by ourselves if this “crossguard” design was a good configuration or not... So we decided to build one, with our army of 3D printers.
Of course, the "darkness" of the movie sequence and the lack of details on the weapon itself left a lot of place for imagination and interpretation.
A dozen of 3D printable lightsabers being already available for download on internet, we decided to make one that would be completely customizable. The modular system we invented makes hundreds of configurations possible. From Yoda’s lightsaber to Darth Maul’s.

Maybe someone will buy me a 3D printer for Christmas?

Amusing Trailer Tease for Pixar's INSIDE OUT

0

Disney has released a sneak peek of a new trailer that is going to be released for Pixar's Inside Out. The movie is being directed by Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc., Up), and the story is a unique concept that will take audiences inside of the human mind. This teaser brings together all of the emotion characters in the story, such as Joy, Fear, Disgust, and Sadness as they roast marshmallows over Anger's flaming head. I've enjoyed everything that I've seen from this film, and we'll get a new full trailer for it tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

The movie comes out on June 19th, 2015.
