Oh shit! Screen Junkies just tore apart Guardians of the Galaxy in their latest Honest Trailer! They didn't hold back on this one, but that's ok, it's a hilarious video, especially when they get to the end because the points they make are kind of true. Guardians of the Galaxy is still an awesome movie though! No one can take that away from us, not even Screen Junkies.

Guardians of the Galaxy ruled the summer box office and won the heart of America. We relive the movie that proved that people will see ANYTHING with Marvel's name on it!

Grim Trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Earthquake Thriller SAN ANDREAS

Well, after watching this movie trailer of Los Angeles being completely obliterated by a massive earthquake, I think it's time for me to get the hell out of here. This is for the new Dwayne Johnson movie San Andreas, in which he plays a search and rescue helicopter pilot that is thrust into an insanely dangerous situation. Good grief, I would hate to be living in California when this happens. My fear has officially escalated. At least the movie version of California has Dwayne Johnson there to save the day.

After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.

But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

The movie was directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island), and it also stars Carla Gugino, Kylie Minogue, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, and Art Parkinson. It will be released in theaters on May 29, 2015.

A week ago we learned that Jean-Claude Van Damme had been cast in the upcoming Kickboxer remake, in which he will play an updated version of the original film’s Master Chow. It's now being reported that former MMA fighter Gina Carano has joined the martial arts production.

The film has an all-star cast of badasses that Carano will be joining, such as Dave Bautista from Guardians of the Galaxy, stunt performer-turned-actor Alain Moussi from X-Men: Days of Future Past, and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, who played Batroc in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Carano is a great addition to the cast. It's always fun to see her in action.

John Stockwell is directing the movie, and the story follows Kurt Sloane (Moussi), "a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand, where he must learn the secrets of the kickboxer to avenge his brother's death at the hands of Tong Po (Bautista)." According to the report, Carano will play a fight promoter, so who knows how much actual fighting she'll do. Hopefully she gets at least one awesome action sequence.

The actress was last seen in 2013's Fast and Furious 6, and she just wrapped a film called Bus 657 with Robert De Niro and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Top 5 Most Embarrassing Video Games I Play

We all have those games we don’t particularly want anyone to know we play, let alone that we play them to death. With the invention of achievements and trophies and constant online connection, that has become more and more difficult to do. And while we might know these games are bad, or in some cases just down right embarrassing to play, we still love the crap out of them.

So to help ease your pain, and maybe push you to come clean with your own secret loves, here is my list of the top 5 games I’m embarrassed to play. I’ve lovingly called this video my “Shame List”, and now it’s out there for all the world to see.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Will Have Big Impact on AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

One of the things that I like most about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is how it ties into the Marvel cinematic universe. I enjoy seeing the ramifications of all the craziness of the films spill over into the series. I wish that they would go a little bigger with the scale, though, when it comes to the movie crossovers. Maybe they will eventually down the line!

In a recent interview with EWExecutive producer Jed Whedon teased that the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron will tie in with a larger storyline that is going to be in the TV series. It's not a big surprise, but it's still good to know that it's happening.

“You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”

I'm interested to see how it will all come together leading up to the Age of Ultron and after the insanity plays out. Executive Producer Maurissa Tancharoen added,

“I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did, but there will be connections.”

That kind of took the fizzle out of everything. I was really hoping for something mind-blowingly big, but it looks like we're going to have to wait on that. Maybe they're just playing it cool though. Regardless, all this Marvel movie and series crossover talk makes me wonder when we might see the first intergalactic character introduced into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

J.J. Abrams Developing Secret Sci-Fi Project at Sony Pictures

Director J.J. Abrams is at it again with his secret sci-fi mystery box film projects. Deadline is reporting that he is making a deal to develop an untitled top secret project for Sony Pictures. Abrams is only set to produce the film through his Bad Robot production company, but he's brought on a director by the name of Chris Alender, who will make his feature film debut with the movie. The director previously made an awesome steampunk style short film called "Eye Of The Storm," which you can watch below.

There's not much information on the project as it has been labeled "Top Secert," but the reports says that it will have a "Cloverfield feel and a contained budget and that it involves aliens."  Cloverfield is the film that launched the directing career of Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and Abrams is hoping to do the same thing with this Alender fella. Here's a little history behind the project:

"This project started at Bad Robot, which set it at its home studio, Paramount. Several drafts were written, the latest by Justin Doble. When Paramount wasn’t moving, Abrams persuaded the studio to let it go. Alender helped his cause by coming in with more than a script. He cut together a sizzle reel that accentuated the inventive things the film brings to the genre; he created a digital look book that explained the visuals of the movie and he even made a five-minute teaser scene that was an action-heavy precursor to this film. Now, he’s strongly positioned to make his debut and it certainly helps to have Abrams in your corner."

I love these smaller secret film projects that Abrams involves himself with. He has a great track record with these films, which tells me this is definitely going to be a project worth keeping an eye on. Ya gotta love the mystery box.

Christian Bale Discusses DARK KNIGHT RISES Ending - Was it a Dream or Real?

The ending of The Dark Knight Rises sparked a lot of discussion among fans. If you don't recall, Alfred sees Bruce Wayne alive and well in Italy, in a setting that Alfred hoped he would see him in. Some fans think that Bruce blew up with the bomb and that the final scene was a dream. While others believed that the hero did survive, and that Wayne went on to live a peaceful life. I've always believed that Bruce survived, and that what Alfred saw was real. There are valid points that have been made for each side though.

So what does Christian Bale think of the ending? In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bale shares his thoughts on how the series ended, and you can hear in his voice that he's still passionate about what he and director Christopher Nolan created. When asked if it was a dream sequence or if it was real, this is what the actor said:

"[Alfred] was content with me being alive, and left because that was the life he wanted for him. I find it very interesting, and I think that with most films I tend to say... it's what the audience thinks it is. My personal opinion is, no, it was not a dream. That that was for real, and he was just delighted to finally have freed himself from the privilege... ultimately the burden of being Bruce Wayne."

Like he said, though, it's up for the audience to decide what they it is. So if you still think that Bruce died in the explosion, then so be it.

Watch Seth MacFarlane’s THE FORCE AWAKENS Teaser Parody

Family Guy’s first Star Wars parody special, “Blue Harvest,” came out 30 years after the release of A New Hope. Luckily, we won’t have to wait 30 years for Seth MacFarlane to take on this new trilogy being kicked off by J.J. Abrams. MacFarlane and his team have already whipped up a parody of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser, which you can watch below. There have already been so many spoofs of the trailer — the most high profile being SNL’s recent video sketch — but considering this is animated, we can cut them a little slack.

sneak-peek-teaser-for-insurgent-with-shailene-woodley-and-miles-teller

We've got a little sneak peek for you to check out that's promoting the upcoming full trailer for the sci-fi film The Divergent Series: Insurgent. If you're a fan of the franchise, then you'll be happy to know that the brief amount of footage shown here in this teaser is new. It features Shailene Woodley's Tris being apprehended by Miles Teller's Peter Hayes. That guy is just itching to make her life a living hell. Now that Teller is becoming a rising star and doing all of these better, highly acclaimed films, I wonder if he regrets taking on this role.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

The movie hits theaters March 20th, 2015.

Outstanding Photoshop Renderings of the SUICIDE SQUAD Cast by Kode Logic

Whether you’re completely on board with the high-profile casting for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad or not, you’re bound to appreciate and maybe even get a little giddy over these photoshopped images by Kode Logic. The artist did an amazing job imagining what these actors might look like in the film. We’d be so lucky if DC’s super villain ensemble looked half this good when the film is released in 2016. Kode Logic did a particularly good job of making all of the different characters and designs look like they belong in the same world. The designs include Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker. I’m bummed there isn’t a design for Cara Delevinge as Enchantress yet, but, as a bonus/consolation, the artist did do a concept for Oprah Winfrey as Amanda Waller. Winfrey is Warner Bros’ top pick for the role, but the part hasn’t officially been cast yet.

Hayao Miyazaki is a master of animation who has brought us so many incredibly anime films from his Studio Ghibli production company. Some of those films include Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo. Today we have a wonderful clip for you to watch from a documentary called The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness, and the clip features the master at work. It shows Miyazaki animating the last shot of his final feature length film, The Wind Rises. As a huge fan of animation and the work of Miyazaki, seeing this was a really nice treat. Thanks to /Film for the video. Here's a description of the doc:

Granted near-unfettered access to the notoriously insular Studio Ghibli, director Mami Sunada follows the three men who are the lifeblood of Ghibli – the eminent director Hayao Miyazaki, the producer Toshio Suzuki, and the elusive and influential “other director” Isao Takahata – over the course of a year as the studio rushes to complete two films, Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises and Takahata’s The Tale of The Princess Kaguya. The result is a rare “fly on the wall” glimpse of the inner workings of one of the world’s most celebrated animation studios, and an insight into the dreams, passion and singular dedication of these remarkable creators.

Marvel Wanted Spider-Man In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

$

As you know, Sony Pictures has had some issues figuring out what exactly they want to do with the Spider-Man franchise. There have also been rumors that Marvel has been talking with the studio to possibly bring Spider-Man back into the Marvel fold. Turns out it’s all true.

Thanks to the Sony Pictures e-mail hack, we have a little bit of clarity on what Sony is thinking about doing with Spider-Man and what Marvel wanted to do with him. The following information comes from the Wall Street Journal. Some of the projectss that are brought up in the emails and report include an animated Spider-Man comedy from Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie). The studio also considered bringing Sam Raimi back to the franchise, and at one point they were looking at possibly teaming up with Marvel Studios.

The leaked e-mails reveal that there have been discussions between executives at Sony, Marvel, and Disney. Some of those conversations have taken place between the studio chief executives Kaz Hirai and Robert Iger. Here’s what the WSJ reports:

“In an Oct 30 e-mail, Sony Pictures president Doug Belgrad tells Ms. Pascal about a potential scenario that would see Marvel produce a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies while Sony retains creative control, marketing and distribution.
"In a separate e-mail, Ms. Pascal tells a business partner that Marvel wanted to include Spider-Man in its planned third Captain America movie."

That’s right! Marvel wanted to include Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War! Unfortunately, discussions broke down and the studio ultimately couldn’t or wouldn't make a deal, which sucks ass. But, Sony is still planning to move forward with their own Spider-Man films… again.

Apparently Sony executives are planning on holding a “Spidey summit” in January to discuss future plans for the franchise. One of the projects that is in development is an animated Spider-Man comedy that would be produced by Miller and Lord, who recently made  22 Jump Street. They are also working on the previously announced Spider-Man spin-offs that will focus on Sinister Six, Venom, and a film that revolves around the female characters in the Spider-Man universe.

One of the other surprising aspects that was revealed was that the studio also tried to get Raimi to return as a director or a producer on the franchise. It looks like that didn’t work out either.

In the end, I’m incredibly saddened that Sony and Marvel couldn’t make a deal. I think Sony made a huge mistake letting that pass by. However, an animated Spider-Man comedy from Lord and Miller could be pretty cool, just not as cool as Spider-Man finally being able to team up with the Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Concept artist Kevin Macio created this Star Wars fan art of a female Sith Lord. If this character is from the now defunct extended universe, the artist doesn't say. It's a really cool character design nonetheless. Since that trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was unleashed on the world there has been a massive wave of fan art and videos for the legendary saga. A lot of it has been really good, so I'll keep it coming!

"The world is going to shit!"

A new red-band trailer has been released for director Matthew Vaughn’s badass looking action thriller, Kingsman: The Secret Service. I’m seriously excited for this movie, and this trailer offers up some sweet new footage that features the world going completely bat-shit crazy. The movie just looks like a ridiculously fun time!

The movie is based on the comic book created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. It tells the story of "a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius."

It stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, and Samuel L. Jackson. Kingsman: The Secret Service hits theaters on February 13th, 2015.

Some of the films featured in the video are Clue, Young Sherlock Holmes, Top Guns, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Star Trek IV, and more. This is really fun watch that takes you back in time, so I hope you take the opportunity to check it out!

Wacky New Trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s INHERENT VICE - “Paranoia”

$

Yesterday we posted six clips from Paul Thomas Anderson’s wonderfully weird-looking film Inherent Vice. Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the movie called “Paranoia.” The twisted and amusing mystery gets a limited release this week so that it can qualify for the upcoming award season. It will then open wide in January. In anticipation of the early release, the studio has released a fantastic new trailer for you to enjoy. Joaquin Phoenix plays private eye Doc Sportello, who gets caught up in something big called the Golden Fang.

Inherent Vice is the seventh feature from Paul Thomas Anderson and the first ever film adaption of a Thomas Pynchon novel.
When private eye Doc Sportello’s ex-old lady suddenly out of nowhere shows up with a story about her current billionaire land developer boyfriend whom she just happens to be in love with, and a plot by his wife and her boyfriend to kidnap that billionaire and throw him in a loony bin…well, easy for her to say.
It’s the tail end of the psychedelic `60s and paranoia is running the day and Doc knows that “love” is another of those words going around at the moment, like “trip” or “groovy,” that’s being way too overused—except this one usually leads to trouble.
With a cast of characters that includes surfers, hustlers, dopers and rockers, a murderous loan shark, LAPD Detectives, a tenor sax player working undercover, and a mysterious entity known as the Golden Fang, which may only be a tax dodge set up by some dentists... Part surf noir, part psychedelic romp—all Thomas Pynchon.

The limited release run begins on December 12th.
