Limited Edition SHERLOCK Prints

$

Season 3 of Sherlock ended with the apparent resurrection of Sherlock Holmes’ arch nemesis, Jim Moriarty. We’re going to have to wait more than a year for more Sherlock with that 2015 Christmas special they have planned. And we’ll have to wait even longer for this rematch of brilliant minds to take place in the fourth season. Even though we won’t have Sherlock on our TVs for awhile, we can have Sherlock and Moriarty on our walls with these limited edition prints by Andy Fairhust. The one above is titled “Long Live the King,” and it features Moriarty (Andrew Scott) from Season 2 seated on the royal throne in the Tower of London. The illustration below is called “Alone is What I Have,” and it is a portrait of Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) deep in thought in 221B.

These and other Sherlock prints are available for purchase here. Hat tip to Xombiedirge.

Ghost Rider Ruthlessly Chokes Out The Hulk in Comic Art

This brutal piece of comic art was created by artist Gabriele Dell'Otto for Ghost Rider Vol. 6 #12 (World War Hulk). I absolutely love this visual of Ghost Rider on Hulk's back as he fiercely chokes him out. There's so much energy in this piece, and after I came across it over on XombieDirge, I had to share it.

James Gunn Offers Details on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Deleted Scene

james-gunn-offers-details-on-guardians-of-the-galaxy-deleted-scene

Apparently James Gunn loves dancing. At the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord busts out some cool dance moves while he's looking for that orb of death. At the end of the film we got to see Groot do a little movin' and goovin'. It turns out there was another dancing scene shot for the movie that never made the final cut.

Gunn posted a photo on Instagram of the prison guard that took Star-Lord's walkman after he's thrown into prison. The character was played by Spencer Wilding, and he eventually gives into the musical awesomeness in the film and dances through the prison.

First of all, Gunn explains the photo above and the why Wilding is holding a container of Play-Doh.

"Here’s me and the actor Spencer Wilding who played the Mean Guard who jabs Quill in the prison with the electrical staff and gets his comeuppance to Escape (the Piña Colada Song). He also has a little container of Play-Doh. Why Play-Doh? Because I would keep a pile of little Play-Doh containers onset and if someone did an especially amazing job that day – whether it was an actor, a grip, a stunt man, or a PA – they’d get a canister of Play-Doh. I probably only gave about 40 containers out over the entire shoot – on an 85 day schedule with a crew of a couple hundred, that isn’t much. I chose Play-Doh because I love the smell of it – opening a new container and smelling it puts me in a creative, child-like place. And who doesn’t love playing with Play-Doh (I swear Play-Doh isn’t paying for this post)?"

The director then goes into detail about the deleted scene saying:

"Anyway, Spencer got the Play-Doh for a scene where he danced through the prison listening to Quill’s Walkman (specifically, Magic by Pilot). We cut the scene for many reasons, but it was awesome and hilarious and Spence more than deserved his rarely-given Play-Doh (and, yes, before you ask me a thousand times below, it WILL be on the Blu-Ray outtakes, and no I will not tell you the release date – you can go see the movie again! It’s still out!) Have a great day (or night depending in where you are)."

I'm really happy that it will be included on the Blu-ray extra features. This is something I'd love to see.

I still have yet to play Destiny as I've been way too busy since it was released, but I've been hearing tons of great things about it. In celebration of the game's awesomeness, here are three officially licensed zip-up hoodies inspired by the game. They include the Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. They cost about $57 a piece and you can purchase them on Gamer Heaven. I also included an Assassin's Creed hoodie just for the hell of it because it's cool.

Legendary Pictures has released the first clip from their Dracula origins movie Dracula Untold, as well as an extended TV Spot with new footage. This movie seems like it's going to be awesome. They came up with a really cool story to tell, and everything that I've seen from it has been great.

The movie was directed by Gary Shore, and it was inspired by the actual historical events that revolve around Vlad. It tells us a supernatural alternate origin story of Vlad the Impaler and the road he takes to transform into the legendary vampire Dracula.

The movie hits theaters on October 10th, and Luke Evans is going to rock it as Dracula.

I SAW THE DEVIL Remake is Moving Forward with Writers and Directors

i-saw-the-devil-remake-is-moving-forward-with-writers-and-directors

Last year it was revealed that Kim Jee Woon's brutally insane revenge movie I Saw The Devil was going to get remade. Like Oldboy, this is a movie I didn't want to see get remade, especially after seeing how awful the remake of Oldboy turned out.

The Wrap is reporting that the production is moving forward though, and writers Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard are close to making a deal to write and direct the English-language remake. They are best known for working on films such as V/H/S, You're Next, and The Guest.

The original film followed an elite special agent played by G.I. Joe's Lee Byung-hun, whose pregnant fiancé is murdered by a crazy madman played by Oldboy's Choi Min-sik. This sets the special agent off, and he begins a violently twisted mission of revenge, and in the process the lines of good and evil become very blurred. If you haven't seen this movie yet, then you need to check it out.  I just can't help but think the remake is going to be toned down for American audiences.

Barrett is reportedly already deep into the scripting process and Wingard has begun meeting with actors to cast. Producer Keith Calder reacted to the news on Twitter saying that the reports are true and that it's still in early development. He also added,

"I have long held the theory that remakes don’t have to suck. I am excited about the opportunity to put that theory to the test."

I agree that remakes don't have to suck, but they almost always do. For their sake, I hope they can actually pull off a decent remake that fans will be happy with. The fans will tear them apart if it's not.

I also went ahead and included a video of producer Adi Shankar talking about why the remake isn't going to suck.

Scott Glenn Will Train Matt Murdock in DAREDEVIL

Actor Scott Glenn has been cast as Stick in Marvel's upcoming Daredevil series. He's best known for his work in films such as Training Day, Silence of the Lambs, Backdraft, andThe Hunt For Red October

Stick is the mysterious martial arts master and mentor who trains Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil (Charlie Cox). The actor also joins Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson),  Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk), and Rosario Dawson.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, had this to say in a statement:

"Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock's life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero's journey. There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt's journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil."

Glenn is really perfect for this part, and I'm glad that it went to a high caliber actor like him. The series follows the journey of Matt Murdock, "who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City."

The 13-episode series will be premiering on Netflix sometime in 2015.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER Being Remade by OCULUS Director

i-know-what-you-did-last-summer-being-remade-by-oculus-director

Sony Pictures is rebooting the 1997 teen horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer. Why? I don't know! The studio has even hired Oculus director Mike Flanagan to develop it. I liked Oculus, and I thought the director did a solid job with it. A remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer just doesn't make sense to me though. Is Hollywood really that desperate that they have to start remaking bad '90s horror movies?

The first film was based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, and it starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Phillippe. The story followed a group of friends being stalked by a killer after conspiring to cover up a fatal car accident.

Neil Moritz, the producer of the original movie, is back to produce the new version. Flanagan will direct the film from his own script. I don't see why people would want to watch this, but maybe there's actually a market out there that is excited about this reboot. If there is... heaven help us all.

Custom Made BATMAN V SUPERMAN Action Figures

Check out this fantastic set of custom made Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice action figures created by FigureRealm user STjuggernaut. His design work for Batman and Wonder Woman are pretty damn awesome. Especially considering that we've hardly seen any images of those characters. He even has a Batman version without the cowl. What makes these so cool is the fact that the costumes on the figures were sculpted by hand. He used parts of several other figures to build the bodies though. Hopefully the officially licensed action figures that are eventually released turn out as good as these. This guy as done a lot of custom toy work, so if you like what you see make sure to click on the link above to see what else he's done.

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass in Talks for More BOURNE

matt-damon-and-paul-greengrass-in-talks-for-more-bourne

It looks like actor Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are actually going to team back up to bring us a new Jason Bourne film. I honestly never thought this would happen as both Damon and Greengrass have had a firm stance on not returning to the action franchise after making The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Greengrass kept saying no and Damon would say he wouldn't do it unless Greengrass was on board. Well, look at how all that's turning out.

The news comes from Variety who says the two are currently in early talks to return. Hopefully it all falls into place because I would love to see a new Bourne film with these two talents involved with it again. I didn't really care for the last movie made, which centered on a character named Aaron Cross played by Jeremy Renner

Universal is already in development on an untitled Bourne film that will involve Cross, and Justin Lin (Fast and Furious) is set to direct. That movie was set to be released on July 16th, 2016, but the report says that its unknown if the studio will keep that release date or if the new Bourne movie they are hoping to make will take its place. I guess it all depends on if the involvement of Damon and Greengrass becomes official.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON — Official Plot Synopsis

If you aren't super exited for Avengers: Age of Ultron, then why are you reading this website? It's hard to tell what geeks are more exited for — Star Wars VII or Age of Ultron. We finally have an official plot synopsis that gives us some bits to speculate about and confirms some rumors.

Source: Stitch Kingdom — Via: CMB

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015.

Ultron being a "dormant peacekeeping program" makes me wonder if Hank Pym somehow still involved. "Uneasy alliances," I'm pretty sure thats a nod to Maximoff twins. "An old friend in a new form" confirms again that J.A.R.V.I.S. becomes The Vision. All really neat-o stuff, right gang? I for one can't wait and have drawn up plans for a time machine so I won't have to.

Sony Pictures has released a new featurette for David Ayer's World War II movie Fury called "Brothers Under the Gun." It takes us behind the scenes of the intense-looking movie, and includes interviews with the cast and crew as they talk about the story and characters. There's also a lot of great footage from the film and video from the set as well. I'm really pumped up about this flick as it seems to have the makings of a classic war film.

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

The movie also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Scott Eastwood, Jon Bernthal, Xavier Samuel, and Michael Peña. It will be released in theaters on November 14th.

Corridor Digital has released this impressive live-action short called "Shadow of Mordor." The short is based on the upcoming Middle-Earth set video game of the same name, and it was directed and written by Sam Gorski and Niko Pueringer.

These guys always tend to pump out awesome, well-made shorts, and I love how this one turned out. The story, visuals, makeup, and special effects are fantastic. The fight sequences were choreographed really well, too, and they feature lots of gushing Orc blood. Any fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are going to enjoy this.

I also included a behind-the-scenes video for the short, and a trailer for the video game that it's based on for you to watch as well.

INTERSTELLAR Poster Featuring Matthew McConaughey, Video Interview With Jessica Chastain

I really love the marketing for Christopher Nolan's latest film Interstellar. It's been every reserved and doesn't try to overexpose the film. The newest bit of promotional material is a poster and magazine cover that features its star, Matthew McConaughey, in a space suit. I'm not going to overanalyze why there is a second inverted mountain ridge and just chalk it up to a creative art department. This poster and and similar-looking cover come via Empire.

We also have an interview with Jessica Chastain in which she pretty much says nothing about the film, but does talk about how hard it is to keep things secret. Source: THR.

Interstellar rockets into theaters November 7th. (USA)

What you see here are some early concept designs for the Collector's museum in James Gunn's and Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy. There were a lot of cool little easter eggs hidden in this museum, many of them pointed out in a video that you can watch here. These illustrations give us a better idea of the scope of the museum. The art was created by Richard Anderson (via: CBM), and it's always interesting to see the art that led to the final designs used in the film.

Insane Trailer for the Zombie Film DEAD SNOW: RED VS. DEAD

insane-trailer-for-the-zombie-film-dead-snow-red-vs-dead

A deranged new trailer for Tommy Wirkola's Nazi zombie horror comedy sequel, Dead Snow: Red Vs. Dead, has been released. If you enjoyed the first film, then you're sure going to love this one. It looks way more bat-shit insane than the first movie!

Martin (Vegar Hoel) hasn’t had the best vacation. He accidentally killed his girlfriend with an axe. He cut his own arm off with a chainsaw. And his friends STILL got devoured by a battallion of Nazi Zombies. This morning, he woke up in a hospital bed with a  new arm – but it’s a super-powered Zombie arm that wants to kill him, and anything else it can reach. Martin’s PISSED. And with the help of his new Zombie Squad pals (Martin Starr, Jocelyn DeBoer, Ingrid Haas), he’s gonna deliver some payback to Colonel Herzog and his precious Nazi gold – by raising an undead army of his own.

I'm really upset that I missed out on this movie at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It looks like a ton of fun. The movie obviously isn't for everyone, but it's going to provide some blood, gore, disgustingness, and laughs. It's set to be released on October 10th. Enjoy the trailer.

These officially licensed Back To The Future light up shoes are awesome! Although not 100% accurate to the movie model as they are missing power-laces and the Nike swoosh, they are also a lot cheaper than the shoes that went on sale in 2011, which sold for $6,000. They only cost about $100, are available in sizes 6-14, and are currently out of stock (they sold out quickly). You can backorder the shoes and get them soon after September 30th.

Duncan Jones Could Direct AMC's PREACHER Adaptation

$

Duncan Jones has apparently been out of the loop for awhile, working on a tiny little indie project you’ve probably never heard of. So he didn’t know that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are adapting the comic book Preacher into a series for AMC. When he asked Ain’t It Cool News’ Eric Vespe a question about the project on Twitter, Rogen jumped in to offer him the director’s chair. Jones accepted the offer, and things spiraled from there. I really can’t wait for the episode set on the Millennium Falcon. Here’s how the exchange went down.

Jones had a little fun before giving an apparently earnest answer. (Everyone is always earnest on Twitter, right?)

And since we're on the subject of dream directors for the project, I wonder if Star Wars: Episodes VIII and IX director Rian Johnson is available...

At some point a fan brought Edgar Wright into the discussion, and like Candyman, he suddenly appeared with an idea of his own.

So there you have it, guys. Preacher will be a space opera in which Jesse Custer is an astronaut played by Bob Dylan played by Cate Blanchett, who will eventually run into Han Solo (or maybe some other dude...). Blanchett and Oscar Isaac will win both the Golden Globe and the Emmy for their roles, obviously. But seriously, it sounds like maybe the Duncan Jones thing could actually happen, which would be fantastic. Jones should get to direct basically anything he wants.

Thanks to /Film.
