Info on Lex Luthor's Hairstyle in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

I know you all want to know what Jesse Eisenberg's hairstyle is going to be in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of the Justice. It's the only hairstyle fanboys are showing any interest in these days. It's just one of those things that people want to know!

Thanks to Batman-News we have some information on the matter. Over the last few days there have been scenes filmed at LexCorp, and according to sources on the set, Eisenberg is walking around with a full set of hair. They say that it’s not Eisenberg’s "typical curly look — it’s a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde." They go on to explain more about the character saying, "Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day."

Now before anyone starts to rage about Lex having hair, there's still a good chance that he will be bald by the end of the film. You know how these origin stories go! We should also consider the fact that he might be wearing a bald cap and different wigs like Gene Hackman did in the original Superman films.

The site also gives some additional information on what the inside of LexCorp is like, "I’ve been told it’s 'f***ing awesome'. There’s a basketball court in the lobby with a giant 30 foot neon LexCorp industries sign."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on May 6th, 2016.

JURASSIC WORLD - Colin Trevorrow Teases New Dinosaur?

Jurassic World won't hit theaters until next summer, but we've already had our first look at the human characters in the film. Now director Colin Trevorrow has released another photo on Twitter, which came with the caption, "Nights." I'd like to believe that it is teasing the new dinosaur that has been genetically engineered by the scientists in the film — a new terrifying dino that was created to wow visitors of the park. This is a description of it from the director:

“… The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate—they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that’s what they get.

“I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren’t doing anything here that [Michael] Crichton didn’t suggest in his novels. This animal is not a mutant freak. It doesn’t have a snake’s head or octopus tentacles. It’s a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it’s a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film. Maybe it sounds crazy, but most of my favorite movies sound crazy when you describe them in a single sentence.”

The movie is set to be released on June 12th, 2015, and I'm hoping we get to see some actual footage from the movie at Comic-Con this year.

Warner Bros. Rebooting SCOOBY DOO

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. is going to reboot Scooby Doo with another live-action film. The last Scooby-Doo film was released in 2004 and starred Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, and Isla Fisher as the young, independent detective team.

The report says that the studio is going to start from scratch, and they've hired Randall Green to create a new adventure. I'm not really familiar with that name and couldn't find much information on him, but he's going to be the guy bringing Scooby Doo back to the big screen.

The first couple of Scooby Doo films were fun for what they were, but they could've been better. My kids absolutely loved them, and they still watch those movies all the time. I've been a fan of Scooby-Doo since I was a little kid, and I guess I'll keep watching the movies as long as they keep pumping them out. I'm curious to see how they will handle these classic characters this next time around.

7 Facts About THE DARK KNIGHT You Might Not Know

7-facts-about-the-dark-knight-you-might-not-know

CineFix has released a video that focuses on Christopher Nolan's mind-blowing Batman film The Dark Knight. It points out seven facts about the movie that you may or may not know. There were a few things included that I actually didn't know, so it might be worth checking out. You might learn a few bits of great useless trivia that you can pull out of your conversation hat during an awkward moment of silence on a first date or something.

"You know the Dark Knight was one of the most complex superhero movies ever. But did you know these seven surprising behind-the-scenes factoids??

"These 7 facts will make you appreciate Christopher Nolan's vision, Heath Ledger's performance, and the hard work of everyone who worked on the Dark Knight all the more. Or at least you'll know some obscure trivia so you can out-geek your geeky friends."

Jared Leto May Replace Will Smith in BRILLIANCE

Jared Leto is in talks to replace Will Smith in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Brilliance. Leto just met with director Julius Onah, so things are still early, but if he signs on he will join Noomi Rapace onscreen. Smith dropped out of the project to take the lead in the untitled Ridley Scott-produced NFL concussion movie.

David Koepp wrote the script, which is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, written by Marcus Sakey. Here is a plot description of the book:

“They’re called 'brilliants,' and since 1980, one percent of people have been born this way. Nick Cooper is among them; a federal agent, Cooper has gifts rendering him exceptional at hunting terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in—and betray his own kind.”

I am assuming that he will play the federal agent and Rapace will take on the role of the terrorist, but since one of the roles will have to be gender-flipped either way, it could be the opposite. Since his glorious locks are kind of the antithesis of the stereotypical G-man, I think he’d make a better terrorist. Brilliance is the first book in a planned trilogy, the second of which, A Better World, was released today.

A new poster has been released for Luke Evans' Dracula Untold. I really like the posters that have been released for this movie. They're designed really well. The movie is being directed by Gary Shore, and it tells the origin story of Vlad the Impaler, who becomes the legendary vampire Dracula.

The story will focus on the events leading up to Vlad's legendary vampire transformation. The movie is also said to include some of the actual historical events revolving around Vlad.

The movie also stars Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger). It will be released on October 17th.

Supergirl - 2014 Best of Cosplay Collection

Updated for 2014, the best of cosplay has 15 new cosplay photos and 15 from last year that haven't been topped.

There have been many versions of Supergirl, but the one constant is youth and optimism. Unlike her cousin Superman who grows up with his super abilities, Kara Zor-El does not get her abilities until she's on earth. So she remembers what it's like to just be an ordinary person. She's often drawn with a huge grin. If I suddenly had superpowers, I'm sure I would too.

If you've got good cosplay or think I missed something, send it our way.

Deadpool Pinball Trailer

deadpool-pinball-trailer

PlayStation has released a trailer for Marvel and Zen Studios' virtual Deadpool Pinball game that they will be releasing next week on the PS4, PS3 and Vita. The pinball table will be coming to Zen Pinball 2, and it will offer "exciting pinball action, true-to-the-character gameplay, and may actually afford the team at Zen some peace and quiet when it releases." I wish real pinball machines and arcades weren't dead, because a Deadpool themed pinball game like this in an arcade would be amazing. This will do though. Here's some additional info on the game:

"Zen Studios is extremely excited to be working with the fine folks at Marvel to bring Deadpool fans a pinball experience that is as true to the character as you can get. Featuring the supreme voice talents of the one and only Nolan North as Deadpool, this table will capture the acerbic, fourth wall-crushing attitude of the character as well as feature supporting characters from the Deadpool universe, including Blind Al, Weasel, Lil’ Deadpool, and other characters from Deadpool’s universe.
"Deadpool’s Zen Pinball 2 debut will feature a dynamic table that will switch at his whim, quick-time events, a “Blind Mode” courtesy of Blind Al in which only the ball, flippers and target lanes are visible, and even a mode where the player can help Deadpool take down some of his most nefarious enemies: raging comic book fans!"

Enjoy the trailer!

Jim Lee's Batman Cover for the Comic-Con 2014 Souvenir Book

toucan_cci2014_souvenirbook_batman.jpg

Comic-Con International has unveiled the cover art for their 2014 souvenir book created by comic artist Jim Lee. I love Lee's style, and this is the perfect cover for this year's Comic-Con as 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the caped crusader. Comic-Con also points out three other separate notable anniversaries for Batman:

  • It’s the 100th birthday of writer Bill Finger who wrote many of the character’s adventures, from the earliest stories through the 1960s, and is responsible for such additions to the Bat-legend as Commissioner Gordon, the Batcave, the Batmobile, Gotham City, and Alfred, plus some of the Dark Knight’s most infamous villains. Finger is the namesake of the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing, given each year at Comic-Con since 2005;
  • It’s the 50th anniversary of the “New Look” Batman, which started in 1964 under editor Julius Schwartz and including artist Carmine Infantino’s interpretation of the Caped Crusader, which saved Detective Comics from possible cancellation;
  • And it’s the 25th anniversary of Tim Burton’s Batman movie, which brought the character back to a whole new audience, in a new—and much darker—form.

Here are some additional details on the souvenir book:

This year’s Souvenir Book—a 224-page full-color trade paperback given free to all Comic-Con attendees, while supplies last—features a long section devoted to the Caped Crusader, and includes articles by Michael Uslan (executive producer of all the Batman films since 1989), Paul Levitz (writer/editor and former DC Comics president and publisher), Marc Tyler Nobleman (author of Bill the Wonder Boy: The Secret Co-creator of Batman), Todd Klein (Eisner Award-winning letterer and designer), and more. The book also features salutes to Marvel Comics’ 75th anniversary, Daredevil’s 50th, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ 30th, Usagi Yojimbo’s 30th, Hellboy’s 20th, and much, much more. It’s the kind of keepsake book you’ll want to take home with you to read again and again. The CCI 2014 Souvenir Book is available only onsite at Comic-Con to registered attendees.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII — Story Detail Counterintelligence

$

Recently, Making Star Wars reported some Star Wars Episode VII rumors from the Pinewood Studios lot. Today Latino-Review has weighed in on the veracity of the rumors based on what their sources have told them.

“First off, I’m not sure who is calling any of these people ‘Jedi Hunters,’ I have never heard that before. The term more often used in Latino Review correspondence has been ‘mercenaries,’ but mostly as a way to talk about them as a group of villains who are vaguely aligned for the same purpose, being controlled by a master or a source of income.
“Yes, Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver are in our villain cluster and there’s something vaguely Sith about the way they operate.”

Making Star Wars attempted to connect the “Jedi Hunters” with a character in the Star Wars Rebels series called the Inquisitor, speculating that David Oyelowo would be voicing the character who would appear in both projects. However, Oyelowo is actually playing a character named Imperial Agent Kallus. According to Latino-Review,

“David Oyelowo has not been on set and is NOT playing a CG character.”

Making Star Wars’ studio lot sources were right about several aspects of the look of the film, though. There are black and chrome stormtroopers. Since the New Republic never rose, there's a lot of "very Imperial, but very new" stuff floating around the galaxy. Latino-Review claims there's a battle on a Star Destroyer. A lot of the costume and set design is based on Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for the original trilogy. And since the design of several characters in Star Wars Rebels is also based on McQuarrie’s work, Rebels will help to build the universe of the new trilogy.

According to Latino-Review’s source:

“there are black stormtroopers & other McQuarrie design helmets/costumes. Basically they're reusing tons of discarded McQuarrie concepts...”

Latino-Review’s final assessment of the rumors?

“I think what we really got this week in Star Wars news is two or three good pieces of design information wrapped in speculation about what it’s all going to mean.”

That’s fine by me. The design stuff sounds great, but I wasn't too keen on all the story information. Of course, Latino Review can't help but speculate on what they think it's all going to mean, and you can read that here if you're so inclined.

synopses-revealed-for-gods-of-egypt-victor-frankenstein-and-more

We have some new information on three upcoming films that are being released over the next couple of years. Thanks to Collider we have synopses for Alex Proyas' Gods of Egypt, Paul McGuigan's Victor Frankenstein, and Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. All of the films sounds like they are going to be great, and one day we'll get to witness the adventures when we watch them up on the big screen!

Gods of Egypt stars Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Elodie Yung. It's set to be released on February 12th, 2016.

Magic, monsters, gods and madness reign throughout the palaces and pyramids of the Nile River Valley in this action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt. With the survival of mankind hanging in the balance, an unexpected hero takes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. With only a handful of heroic rebels opposing Set’s savage rule, Bek (Brenton Thwaites), a bold and defiant mortal, enlists the aid of powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against the evil overlord. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen take them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the spectacular final confrontation.

Victor Frankenstein stars James McAvoy as the title character and Daniel Radcliffe as Igor. It's set to be released on October 2nd, 2015.

James McAvoy is Victor Von Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe stars as Igor in a unique, never-before-seen twist on Mary Shelley’s classic 19th century novel.  Told from Igor’s perspective, we see the troubled young assistant’s dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man—and the legend—we know today.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is based on the book by Ransom Riggs. It will be released on July 31st, 2015.

From director Tim Burton and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable, thrilling and haunting tale.  Sixteen-year-old Jacob follows clues that take him to a mysterious island where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.  As Jacob explores the abandoned bedrooms and hallways, he discovers that its former occupants were far more than peculiar; they possessed incredible powers.  And they may still be alive.

CUBICLES & CAREERS Fantasy Web-Series Episode 2 - Elf

The second episode of the comedic fantasy web-series Cubicles & Careers has been released, and this one focuses on the Elf character.

The show is set in a fantasy world where a group of people gather together for a game called "Cubicles & Careers." It's basically the "Dungeons & Dragons" of the fantasy world, only they play as people from the real world with real boring jobs. What makes this so amusing is that the players don't seem to get a grasp of how the game is played or how people can actually live like the characters they are playing.

James Wan to Adapt MALIGNANT MAN for the Big Screen

20th Century Fox has picked up the right to the graphic novel Malignant Man. The Conjuring director James Wan is the creator of the comic, and he will be developing it for the big screen as a producer… for now. He's not officially attached to direct it at this time, but I'm sure it's something that he'd definitely be interested in doing.

The story focuses on Alan Gates, "a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past."

Wan is such a crazy talented director. I've enjoyed every film that he's made so far, and I hope he is able to work out a deal with the studio, and clear out his schedule so that he can bring his own story to life. This story seems like it has the makings of an awesome movie.

Marvel Hires New Writer for DOCTOR STRANGE and Jared Leto Is Back on the List

Marvel Studios is looking to hire screenwriter Jon Spaihts to write the script for Doctor Strange, which is being directed by Scott Derrickson. He's currently in negotiations with the studio. Spaihts previously worked on the script for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, but none of the other projects he has worked on have come out yet.

The site also reignites a previous rumor that Jared Leto is on the short list of actors to possibly take on the role of Strange. The other two actors on the list are Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy. I actually really like the idea of Leto playing Strange. He definitely has the look and the talent. I would have to say he's my number one choice at this point, and Cumberbatch is a close second. I'm not even sure why Hardy is on the list. The more I think about him in the role, the more I think he doesn't really fit the part.

Spaihts is currently writing Universal’s reboot of The Mummy, an alien invasion project called The Darkest Hour, and a remake of The Black Hole.

Marvel is moving fast on this film, and according to Deadline they are hoping to get this project into production quickly. What's funny about all this is Marvel still hasn't officially announced the movie.

Fox has released their final trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and it's freakin' awesome! The trailer is loaded with new footage that proves the movie will be fiercely chilling. As much as I loved this trailer, I think it shows way too much of the movie, but you should probably still watch it because it's incredible.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.  They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

The movie is set to be released by July 11th. Enjoy the trailer!

According to everyone who has seen the pilot episode of Gotham, the series lives up to the hype and kicks all kinds of ass. A new full trailer has been released for the upcoming British comedy The Inbetweeners 2, which is a sequel to the film based on the hilarious BBC TV series. If you haven't watched this show yet you should give it a go. It's on Netflix, and if you are ok with crude humor you'll probably enjoy it.

James Buckley, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas, and Simon Bird have reprised their roles in the film. The sequel takes them on a new adventure to Australia, "The sex capital of the world," where absurdly funny hijinks will ensue. "You know why they call it down under? Because that's where your face spends most of the time." These characters are ridiculous, and I love it!

The original cast is joined by Star Wars: Episode VII actress Daisy Ridley, as well as Celeste Cotton, David Schaal, Larissa Jones, and Susan WokomaThe Inbetweeners 2 is set to be released in the UK on August 6th.
