This is your first look at the upcoming Monsters University short from Pixar called Party Down. The short is set to show with screenings of The Muppets: Most Wanted. They showed fans the entire short already at Disney's D23 expo, and I have to say it was pretty hilarious. In the picture above it may look like Oozma Kappas are bored, but don't worry. Mike and Sulley show up with a great plan to get the party rocking!

While talking to EW, writer-director Kelsey Mann had this to say,

”When you first meet the Oozma Kappas, they go to their fraternity house and the first thing they say is, ‘Welcome to party central! We haven’t thrown a party yet, but when we do we’ll be ready,’ I kept telling Dan [Scanlon, the director of Monsters University], ‘I really want to see their party. We have to do it in the credits or something.’ Then when the idea of doing a short came up, we were like, ‘That could be the party!’"

The short took Pixar's team eight months to make. It went into production towards the end of the original film's production so that the pick-ups could include new lines for it. You'll get to see it on March 21st, 2014!

Last year it was announced that the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski teamed up with Netflix to develop a new sci-fi series called Sense8. Thanks to TVLine we have some new information on the series and the story it will tell. It sounds incredibly cool, and it will take us on a worldwide journey where minds link and souls are hunted.

"The sci-fi drama will focus on eight people scattered around the globe who are connected by a shared — violent — vision. (Because it’s never a vision of kittens, is it?) Each episode — shot in the UK, Seoul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico City, San Francisco and Chicago — will follow the characters’ separate stories, even as one entity tries to bring the octet together and another tries to kill them.

Among the regulars (as yet uncast) are: a closeted Mexican telenovela hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman, an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger (a la Lana?). Perhaps most intriguing, though, are Jonas, an apparently magic African-American who appears to all of the 'visionaries,' and his evil counterpart, Mr. Whispers (arguably the best-named villain since The X-Files’ Cigarette-Smoking Man)."

The series will be available to watch in late 2014. It sounds really cool, and I'm very excited to see it!

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Script Is Finished and Amy Adams Has Read It

Amy Adams appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently to talk about her new film Her, which is currently out in theaters. Of course the conversation moved to the movie everyone is interested in hearing about… Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman.

Adams will reprise her role as Lois Lane in the film, but she doesn't offer up any information on the story. However she does reveal that the script has been completed and that she's read it. Argo writer Chris Terrio was recently brought in to touch it up, and I guess he's finished because production is set to start "very soon."

I'm looking forward to seeing what characters will officially be in the movie and who will be playing them. This movie has the potential to be epic. I hope Snyder can effectively pull it off!

Major League may not be the geekiest film (or geeky at all), but this promotion for its 25th anniversary certainly is! NESN reports TOPPS has announced in honor of the film's 25th anniversary they are creating baseball cards for the infamous 1989 Cleveland Indians team. These cards look straight out of the late '80s and will be signed by the actors of the film! The only issue right now is that Charlie Sheen aka Ricky "wild thing" Vaughn has not signed onto any deal endorsing this. I hope he does because I want his card most!

It's always funny to see what actors were doing before they became big, famous stars. All actors have to start somewhere though. People aren't just handed stardom, it takes a lot of hard work and they have to pay their dues. If they are talented enough, they'll get noticed and move up in the world. The gang over at Screen Junkies has put together a couple of videos that point out a lot of things several big stars did before they blew up. Most of them got their start in really bad commercials. These are funny to watch, so enjoy!

Writer of ARCHER Says New Season Is Not About Spies

In a surprising interview with UPROXX, Archer executive producer Matt Thompson says this season will have very little to do with spies and espionage, and a lot to do with selling cocaine. Yes, we are serious, but the reasoning is more sound than you initially think.

There is a big radical departure this season on Archer and that came about frankly because Adam [Reed] got bored. He is the sole writer of the show and he felt like he was spinning his wheels at some point ... And so you have a show that is successful and/or becoming more successful and we decided to change everything because we were bored and because we just want to make the show that makes us interested and happy in the end.

The show has always been popular but has been increasing ratings more and more as the seasons go on. This puts FX in a bind to say no to one of its more popular shows after moving several series over to FXX. Part of me wants to believe this is just a ploy to get me to tune in and see what's going on, the other half doesn't care and will watch anyway come January 13th!

Kevin Feige on Ultron in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige discussed Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the interview he talks about why they chose Ultron, what they were looking for in a sequel, and the natural introductions of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

When asked why Ultron was chosen as the main villain in the sequel he replied,

“Joss Whedon had a great idea for the character and how to use him to unify the Avengers again and acquire their services once more. He was a favorite. Joss and I were on the production of the first Avengers movie and we started having conversations about Ultron, and how he could come about and how we could adapt his origin to the continuity of the cinematic universe. It literally was just little discussions between takes but thankfully Joss files all that kind of stuff away in his brain. Then when the time arrived, he started outing it, so he went back to that and built a very good story.”

He was then asked if the movie will have anything in common with comic book series of the same name. Basically, they just wanted the subtitle. He explains,

"We didn't want to merely have a '2' after Avengers so we wanted to give it a subtitle. We have various things that we were looking at and Age of Ultron - which just happened to be a the name of a comic book series as well - was our favorite."

Feige also talks about casting James Spader saying,

"I first met James Spader two or three years ago. I thought it would be great to have him in our universe and we finally found the right role with Joss's version of Ultron."

Finally he is asked about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and if he thinks there are going to be too many protagonists in the movie. This was his reply,

"It's always a balance with any movie, not to overwhelm it with too many story elements. Certainly when it comes to comic book movies, you can fall into the trap of having too many villains and in the case of team-based movies, having too many heroes. But what Joss has in mind to bring those characters into the story happens in a very natural fashion over the course of the story. It's also the tradition of the Avengers to switch up the roster every now and again and to have new characters coming in. It's just part of the fun, but we wouldn't have included them if it had just been a case of 'Oh, we want two new figures, two new costumes.' It very much flows with the story that Joss is creating."

The movie is set to be released on May 1st, 2015, and I have no doubt that it's going to be another epically badass Marvel adventure!

ARROW Spoilers Reveal Where The Second Half Of The Season Will Take Us

TV Guide managed to grab a scoop on where Arrow  will pick up on its return next Wednesday, and I'm excited to say the least. You don't want to read any further if you want to go in blindly, but I will say this spoiler doesn't really do more than set the stage.

It appears as though Felicity will be leaving Starling City to go aid Barry after his "accident", which comes at a terrible time for Oliver as there are now multiple villains to be worried about. Hopefully this means Felicity will be jumping back and forth between the series and being the bridge between the two shows when Flash gets going. I'm not one for the whole Oliver and Felicity romance and would much rather see her go on full time with Flash...but I can see how and why that would never happen. Next Wednesday we'll see it all go down, and hopefully more of Slade in the current timeline!

Funny Theatrical Trailer for Jason Bateman's BAD WORDS

Focus Features has released a fun new theatrical trailer for Jason Bateman's R-rated comedy Bad Words. Bateman not only stars in the film, he also directed it as well. The story follows a spelling bee loser who sets out to exact revenge by finding a loophole and attempting to win these spelling bee competitions as an adult. If you missed the Red-Band trailer for the film, check it out here. The movie looks like it could be a hilarious comedy, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Mr. Bateman stars as Guy Trilby, a 40-year-old who finds a loophole in the rules of The Golden Quill national spelling bee and decides to cause trouble by hijacking the competition. Contest officials, outraged parents, and overly ambitious 8th graders are no match for Guy, as he ruthlessly crushes their dreams of victory and fame. As a reporter (Kathryn Hahn of We’re the Millers) attempts to discover his true motivation, Guy finds himself forging an unlikely alliance with a competitor: awkward 10-year-old Chaitanya (Rohan Chand of Homeland), who is completely unfazed by Guy’s take-no-prisoners approach to life.

The movie will open up in limited theaters on March 21st, 2014, then expand wide on March 28th.

Insane Zombie Classification Chart Catalogs 350 Types of Zombies

Most zombie charts I've seen are pretty straightforward and simple, separating fast zombies from slow zombies. Jason Thompson has taken zombie classification to a new level though with this amazing massive zombie taxonomy map. It catalogs more than 350 different types of zombie!

The chart was created in the style of a vintage medical chart, and the zombie classifications were collected from several books, movies, comics, video games, and TV shows, from literary proto-zombies to modern zombie romantic comedies.

For those of you interested in buying a print, you can get yourself one on Kickstarter. Thanks to io9 for the heads up! You can click the image to enlarge.

Eerie New Image from David Fincher's GONE GIRL

The upcoming cover of EW features an eerie new image from David Fincher's Gone Girl that has Ben Affleck snuggling up with the corpse of Rosamund Pike

This David Fincher-directed film is an adaptation of a novel written by Gillian Flynn, and it also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, and Carrie Coon. Fincher is one of the best directors working today, and I can't win to see this movie!

Here's an official description of the story:

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick Dunne’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick Dunne isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but hearing from Amy through flashbacks in her diary reveal the perky perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer? As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister Margo at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was left in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?

The movie hits theaters October 3, 2014.

DC Comics Claims They Sell More Movies Than Marvel in Letter to 7th Grader

First of all, we all know that Marvel is kicking DC's ass when it comes to their cinematic universes. DC is still in the early stages of trying to figure their universe out.

For a school project a 7th grade DC Comics fan wrote them a letter and asked the following question, “How does DC plan to compete against Marvel movies when Marvel seemingly dominates the live action superhero movie industry?”

It's a question that a lot of us fans have been wondering ourselves, but according to DC Comics they already are doing better than Marvel saying, "our movies by far exceed all of Marvel’s in sales."

I'm sure they got some young intern to write the letter back to the kid and had a little fun with him… I think. Or maybe the guy just didn't know his shit? I'm giving him or her the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks to @elmayimbe for the pointing this out, and to Reddit for the letters, which you can read below. I thought DC's response was pretty humorous.

Gerard Butler to Join POINT BREAK Remake

Gerard Butler is in final negotiations to join the upcoming remake of the 1990s classic Point Break. The movie is being directed by cinematographer Ericson Core, who worked on The Fast & the Furious and Daredevil.

According to the report, the new movie is "set in the international world of extreme sports as opposed to the Southern California surf scene of the original. The plot of an FBI agent infiltrating a crime ring as well as the names of the principal characters remain the same."

Butler will play a character named Bodhi, the character that was played by Patrick Swyaze in the original movie. He's described as "an expert extreme-sports athlete who seeks nirvana through the conquest of a series of athletic feats such as surfing 100-foot waves. He saves Johnny Utah, the undercover FBI agent, and brings him into the fold of international criminals." It will be interesting to see who they cast in the role of Utah.

Butler is a solid actor. He recently starred in another surfing film called Chasing Mavericks, which I'm sure helped him land this part. It will be interesting to see a reimagining of this movie, but I doubt it will live up to the awesomeness of the original.

Paramount Pictures has released two new clips from their upcoming action thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. The clips feature scenes with Chris Pine, Kevin Costner, and Keira Knightley. I'm not sure how this movie will measure up to the other films in the franchise, but it seems like it has what it takes to entertain audiences. The movie comes out on January 17th!

There's this theory that every Pixar film is connected, and they share a universe. It's called The Pixar Theory, and Jon Negroni has created an infographic that details how the films connect as a "working narrative that ties all of the Pixar movies into one cohesive timeline with a main theme." This is full of a ton of great theories that I know a lot of fans will enjoy, so check it out!

zoe-saldana-to-star-in-nbcs-rosemarys-baby-miniseries.jpg

NBC has cast Star Trek star Zoe Saldana in the lead role in their upcoming miniseries remake of the horror property Rosemary's Baby. The four hour miniseries is based on Ira Levin's 1967 horror novel that was adapted into an awesome film by Roman Polanski

According to THR, Saldana will play Rosemary, "the iconic young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband, moves into a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child." For those of you who haven't seen the original movie or read the book, I won't ruin the surprise, of what's really going on with the baby, but I suggest you read the book or watch the movie before this series comes out, because they're both great!

Quinn Taylor, executive VP of movies, miniseries, and international co-productions at NBC Entertainment had this to say about the casting in a statement,

“Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin’s infamous novel. With Zoe leading the cast under the direction of Agnieszka Holland, this reimagined event miniseries is off to a great start.”

I'm a big fan of this story, and I'm looking forward to seeing what NBC does with this new adaptation. I think Saldana is a great choice to take on the lead role, and I'm hoping for the best!

A while back we posted a video highlighting the unique feature of NBA 2K14 to give technical fouls to players when they heard the gamer swearing while playing. Now one man, capitalizing off the unique voice commands of XboxOne, changed his gamertag to screw with people. XBOXSIGNOUT managed to trick quite a few people in this video with some pretty funny results. Now we wait for a hundred other people to do it so we can despise this video at a later date.
