HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 Poster

DreamWorks Animation has released a new poster for their great looking animated film How to Train Your Dragon 2.  It features an older-looking Hiccup, voiced by Jay Baruchel, and his dragon, Toothless. I loved the first movie, and this looks like it's shaping up to be an awesome sequel.

The thrilling second chapter of the epic How to Train Your Dragon trilogy brings back the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years later. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island's new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories, and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace.

The movie also stars America Ferrera as Astrid, Kristen Wiigas Ruffnut, Jonah Hill as Snotlout, T.J. Miller as Tuffnut, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fishleg, Craig Ferguson as Gobber, Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, and Kit Harrington as a Dragon Prince.

The movie comes out on June 13th, 2014 with a follow-up due in 2016. Click here to watch the first teaser trailer.

The latest poster smashed down the hammer for Spike Lee and Josh Brolin's Oldboy. The poster comes along with the great tagline... "Find the truth and make it hurt."

If you who have seen the original film, then you know the powerful significance of the hammer. From what I've seen and heard, the hammer scene in the remake is going to be crazy hardcore. I'm excited to see the new reimagining of the scene. The original was already really crazy, but apparently they upped the ante with this remake.

The movie will be released on November 27th!

OLDBOY follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Producing DC Entertainment's SLEEPER

Warner Bros. is moving forward with a big screen adaptation of DC Entertainment's property Sleeper, and they brought in Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to produce it.

The studio has also hired Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and David Wiener (The Killer) to write the feature film adaptation of the Vertigo comic. The 2003 comic comes from writer Ed Brubaker and artist Sean Phillips. The series began publication in 2003, and it sounds like it will make for a solidly good movie.

The story is set in a "noir universe where a few people are spontaneously developing superpowers," and it follows "Holden Carver, a man who can absorb pain and pass it on to others, as he infiltrates a criminal organization on behalf of a law enforcement agency. His allegiances come into question, especially when he falls for the alluring killer, Miss Misery."

The studio has been working trying to get this film project into development since 2008. At one point Sam Raimi was even attached to produce it, and Tom Cruise was supposed to star.

Since Damon and Affleck are involved as producers I guess there's always a chance one or both of them could end up starring in the film.

For our latest mission, we sent an 11-year-old actor dressed as Harry Potter into New York's Pennsylvania Station to search for Platform 9 3/4. Harry wandered the station with a caged owl and a luggage cart and asked both strangers and transit employees how to get to the Hogwarts Express, presenting them with his Platform 9 3/4 ticket.

WATCHMEN Screenwriter Taking on GRAN TURISMO Movie

Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse has been hired by Sony Pictures to write the script for their feature film adaptation of the video game franchise Gran Turismo.

With Need For Speed coming out soon, and a Hot Wheels movie, and Fast and Furious 7 in production, it was only a matter of time before Gran Turismo started making its way to the big screen. I've enjoyed playing Gran Turismo over the years, and it will be interesting to see what kind of story then come up with.

As of right now there is no information on what Tse’s take on a potential plot will be. We do know that it will revolve around some very slick-looking fast cars racing each other though.

Tse not only worked on Watchmen, but he also worked on the remake of The Crow and the live action adaptation of the anime Ninja Scroll. He's currently writing the remake of Highlander for Summit Entertainment.

Michael De Luca, Kevin Spacey, and Dana Brunetti, who recently teamed for Captain Phillips, are producing the project. Hopefully they can turn the franchise into a really cool and entertaining movie!

Norman Reedus Joining THE CROW Reboot?

Fans of The Crow might be happy to hear that The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus is rumored to be the latest actor to be up for a role in The Crow remake.

The news comes from Schmoes Know, which has been getting a lot of big movie scoops lately. According to their source, Reedus is the top choice of the studio to take on a character named James. There's no information on who this James character is, but if he's cast he will join actor Luke Evans who has already been cast in the lead role of Eric Draven.

The site also claims that Kristen Stewart was up for the role of Shelly in the film, but thankfully producers wised up and “shied away from the idea after hearing that she wouldn’t attract an audience.”

It seems like this remake is actually headed in the right direction. Casting Evans, possibly Reedus, and realizing Stewart is a terrible choice are all steps to turning this into a good movie.

The movie is set to be directed by Javier Gutierrez, from a script written by Cliff Dorfman. Comic creator James O'Barr is also working on the film as a consultant. The movie is supposed to start production in 2014. As of right now there is no release date.

The first clip has been released from Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and it's a good one! The story is about a day-dreamer who "escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action."

The clip features Stiller's character falling into one of his crazy adventurous daydreams while talking to a customer service rep from eHarmony. The voice on the other end of the phone is Patton Oswalt. This movie seems like it has the makings of a very entertaining movie. It comes out on December 25th! Thanks to Digital Spy for the clip.

Possible Full Body Design for GODZILLA

There's a ton of sites reporting that the image above is our possible final Godzilla character design in Gareth Edwards' upcoming movie. The thing is, this is the same design that you can see here from a licensing expo poster, and kind of here from San Diego Comic-Con. I guess the biggest difference with this photo is that it gives us more of a full body shot of the creature.

I was told at Comic-Con that what they showed us was not the final design, which makes me think that these are not the actual designs for the monster either, but you never know. If it ends up being the design... awesome. If not, I'm sure they've come up with something really cool!

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins. The movie hits theaters on May 16th, 2014.

This is an awesome character reimagining of Disney's Pocahontas as a badass warrior princess. The illustration was done by Sadyna, who previously brought us a set of other designs featuring Disney princesses as medieval fantasy warriors that you can check out here. Here's what the artist said about the design,

So Pocahontas for my ''Princess warrior'' project! YA! She was such a pain to draw and color too ... ::: D And her design isn't so different from the orginal costume but I just wanted to make her more .. umm .. ruthless I guess... She is some kinda of executioner-warrior : DDDD Also I didn't want to make armor to her or sword or anything like that I wanted to keep her ''wild'' : ) I love Pocahontas BTW!

J.R.R. Tolkien Biopic in Development

The legendary author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings is getting his own feature length biopic! The project is set up at Fox Searchlight and Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment is producing it.

According to THR, the movie will "chronicle the key moments in Tolkien’s life that shaped him and led him to write Hobbit, the classic children’s book, in 1937 and then starting in 1954, his Rings trilogy."

The film already has a script written by David Gleeson, who wrote a sci-fi spec called The End of History. The movie is currently in development, and there's no word on whether the Tolkien estate will be involved.

Here's a little information on Tolkien from the report:

Tolkien led a fascinating life. He saw combat in World War I in which he saw countrysides torn to shreds and friends killed. He was close friends with C.S. Lewis, the author of the Chronicles of Narnia books, and the two made up part of an academic and writing group known as the Inklings. And he was a codebreaker in waiting during World War Two.

Tolkien is already a protagonist in the YA novel inHere, There Be Dragons, which told of the fictional fantasy adventures of Tolkien, Lewis and fellow Inkling member Charles Williams and how they ultimately led them to pen their masterpieces. An movie adaptation is set up Warners.

Kawasaki is bringing anime cyberpunk vehicles to life! Check out this incredible concept electric cycle that they've designed!

It's called the "J vehicle," and according to Engadget it "can switch between a lie-down two-wheel Akira / Tron-baiting cycle and a three-wheel drive mode, with the latter designated as "comfort" mode." They also say that it's powered by Kawasaki's biggest onboard battery pack, called the Gigacell.

I'd definitely take this thing out for a ride! Hopefully it makes it past the concept stage.

Tom Hiddleston's ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE - International Trailer and Clip

We've got a new trailer for Tom Hiddleston's vampire thriller Only Lovers Left Alive, and a new clip featuring Hiddleston sucking away on a blood popsicle and playing chess. I guess that's something I could see Loki doing. The movie was directed by Jim Jarmusch and also stars Tilda Swinton, Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt, and Anton Yelchin.

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier, an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover. Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is soon disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Can these wise but fragile outsiders continue to survive as the modern world collapses around them?

The movie has made the festival rounds, and the reviews seem to have been pretty positive. As far as I can tell there's no official release date for the film yet.

I really enjoyed Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful, but it wasn't without its problems. Leave it to CinemaSins to point them all out to us, in all their nitpicky detail.

For the second time, we return to Oz. Only this time... there's three witches, a young wizard, and for some reason... river fairies. And also some sins.

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is set to star alongside Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried in a drama called Fathers and Daughters. The movie comes from an original script written by Brad Desch, which was featured on the Black List.

The story follows "a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe will portray a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will portray the now-grown daughter in present-day Manhattan as she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood."

Paul will be playing Seyfried’s love interest in the film. This would be the second project that Paul and Seyfried have worked on together. They previously starred together in HBO’s Big Love. Paul is a great young actor that has a great career ahead of him. The next thing we'll see him in is DreamWorks' Need For Speed.

Starscream may be a whiny prick, but 80s Tees has a really cool Transformers costume hoodie for the character. As you can see, one of the best parts of the hoodie is that it has wings built into it. I'm glad they're stitched on because one of the things I hated about the toy is that I kept losing the wings! The hoodie only costs $60, and you can order it here.

Who Is Your Favorite Doctor?

who-is-your-favorite-doctor.jpg

With the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who coming up this weekend, I have had some time to reflect on the show and who my favorite Doctor is. Here is a little background on the Doctor in my life.

Some of my earliest TV memories are of watching the ongoing adventures of Tom Baker as The Doctor. To the dismay of my parents, it was my absolute favorite show. Unfortunately, out of my love of Baker's portrayal of the Doctor, I was not keen on the idea of the 2005 resurgence of Doctor Who. I loved the concept of the Time Lord, I was just concerned with who they would cast in the iconic role. This is where my love/hate relationship with the show started.

Hearing that they cast the weird villain from Gone in Sixty Seconds, Christopher Eccleston, I completely tuned out. My protest of the casting was strengthened further when I found out that he was the Doctor for only one season. Even though I thought the casting of David Tennant was a great idea, I just wasn’t interested enough to start watching.

Fast forward a few years to when Matt Smith was announced as the next Doctor. The outrage over that casting brought my interest back to the show. People would not cause such a fuss over a crappy show. So I bit the bullet and started to watch Eccleston's season. That is when I knew that I had made a huge mistake in not watching the show. I came to enjoy Eccleston’s portrayal of the Doctor as much as I enjoyed Baker's.

To say I was hooked by the first episode would be an understatement. Eccleston was perfect. At first you think that he is a little childish and dorky to be the Doctor, however, you start to see that it is a facade. My favorite episode of the season was "The Empty Child." If that was the only episode you watched, you would see that the humor is there to hide the admiration that he has for the human race and the constant anxiety that he feels in his mission to keep Earth safe. He would just give a look, and you knew his positive attitude was only to keep everyone sane in the most outrageous of circumstances.

I was a little more emotional than I should have been when Eccleston gave his final line to Rose, “Before I go, I just wanna tell you, you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? So was I!”

The worst thing about this is the Moffat/Eccleston feud. There are many versions of many stories of what happened between the two. All I know is that because of it, we won’t be seeing Eccleston in The Day of The Doctor. As sad as that makes me, there is nothing to be done about it. I am still going to watch anyway.

Based on what I had heard about Tennant’s performance, I wasn’t too sad about the absence of Eccleston. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with what he brought to the table. He did a great job, don’t get me wrong. I just found that Eccleston did it a little bit better. Tennant was too whiny, too pouty. He did a great job of bringing a larger fan base to the show, and I applaud him for that. It just seemed like a weak performance compared to what the previous Doctor had brought.

I did get that lump in my throat in "The End of Time: Part 2" when Tennant goes back and revisits key moments in his tenure and then says, “I don’t want to go.” That is actually one of my favorite lines in the whole show. I have always imagined that every Doctor feels that before every regeneration; it has just never been expressed before.

Then in comes Matt Smith. I was not familiar with Mr. Smith, so I had no basis to like or hate his casting. Now that we are near the end of his run, I have to say that I am quite sad that he is leaving.

Smith was able to bring that touch of naivete that the Doctor needs. The Doctor needs a certain level of eccentricity, and I thought Smith was perfect. It seemed like he had a lot more to deal with than the Doctors before him. For those of you who are currently watching him for the first time, I don't want to  ruin anything for you. I just felt he was pretty near perfection. Smith has made his way onto my “Favorite Doctor” list. I feel that he brought a lot of human qualities to the role that I have not seen in the Doctor before. With his performance I have placed him in a three-way tie for my favorite.

I know that I am a little too invested in the show, but whatever. I am just glad that the show is picking up fans all over the world.

As far as Peter Capaldi is concerned, I am going to reserve judgment until the next season comes out. I have learned that my initial gut reaction to the casting of the Doctor is inherently wrong. I am going to sit back and enjoy what Moffat has to offer, and we will go from there.

I want to know who your favorite Doctor is. If you agree with me, cool. If not, tell me why I am wrong. I know people are very passionate about this. Please, hit me with your best shot.

Until next time…

Billy Out!
