This might just be the most entertaining, action-packed clip from Kick-Ass 2 that I've seen so far! It features Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) dressed up as a pimp luring some thugs into an alley where he's supposed to give them a beatdown. Of course things don't go as planned, and Hit-Girl (Chloë Moretz) jumps in to save his ass.

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. 

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. 

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all. 

Here's the first trailer for the new film Diana, which tells the untold story of the "people's Princess." Diana is played by Naomi Watts, and the story follows her romance with Dr. Hasnat Kahn (Naveen Andrews) in the final years of her life. The movie was directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, who was behind the Hitler film Downfall. It looks like it could be a decent film, here's the synopsis:

Celebrated and adored by millions, she was the Queen of people’s hearts, yet the bittersweet story of the last man to truly capture hers has never been told. Princess Diana (double Academy Award® nominee Naomi Watts), at one time the most famous woman in the world, inspired a nation with her generosity, compassion and kindness – and in her final years she would meet the man, Dr. Hasnat Kahn, who in turn inspired her…

The movie open up in the UK on September 20th and October 10th in Australia. As of right now, no U.S. date has been announced.

Now that Kick-Ass 2 is completed and ready to be released in theaters, director Jeff Wadlow is spending his time writing that X-Force movie for FOX that he'll also direct. In a interview with Bleeding Cool, Wadlow explains that it will explore the "grey areas" in the series, he will make it edgier, and he hopes that fans of the comic will be happy with what he ends up doing. 

"I’m very deep into it. I can’t really say much as Fox has asked me not to but, again, it’s not a reboot or reimagining of the X cinematic universe. Tonally it will fit in, quite well with all the other movies… but then I think the other movies cover a wide range of tones. It’s certainly not going to be tonally similar to Kick-Ass.

I hope it will have what fans of X-Force will expect. I think it will be a little edgier, I think you’ll see some characters with different takes on what it means to be a mutant. There will be some grey areas that the movies haven’t yet been explored. It won’t be as 'overt.' This movie is more about the grey areas in between.

I’m going to take some big ideas from the X-universe and flip them, I think in an interesting way. It’s hard to talk about that, though, without being specific. I probably shouldn’t have even talked about that at all because I can’t get into the specifics but I will say it’s similar to Kick-Ass 2 in that it wasn’t an open assignment, it wasn’t 'We’re going to make an X-Force movie, who’s interested? Here’s what the movie’s going to be.'

He goes on to explian how the film project came about, and that the studio is excited about his vision.

"When Mark [Millar] got the job with Fox I said 'The first movie you guys should make is an X-Force movie and here’s how you should do it.' And that got him excited, and that got the studio excited and that’s the movie I’m writing."

This movie might be the next time we see Deadpool on the big screen. It will be interesting to see if they get Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine in the film. 

FX has released the unsurprisingly bizarre first teaser trailer for American Horror Story: Coven. The teaser is only 18-seconds long, and it features the show's familiar theme music along with a look inside a Victorian-style house where several women are stuck to walls with their hands raised. For those of you not familiar with what the third season of this horror series focuses on, it's witches. And Kathy Bates plays a serial killer who kept slaves bound in her home. DreamWorks Animation is currently developing a new animated film called Penguins of Madagascar, which, if you couldn't already tell, will focus on the penguins from the Madagascar franchise.

They've cast Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich to voice characters in the film. According to The Wrap, "Malkovich will voice the film's charming villain, while Cumberbatch will voice a high-ranking animal CIA agent hot on his trail."

The movie is being directed by Simon J. Smith (Bee Movie) from a script by Michael Colton and John Aboud. It's set to be released on March 27th, 2015, and I'm sure it will be fun.

After seeing the insane footage at Comic-Con,  I can't wait to see Thor: The Dark World. This new trailer includes lots of the stuff we saw there. The scope of this sequel is huge, and it feels a lot more dangerous than the first.

Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor as does most of the original cast, including Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, and Jaimie Alexander. New additions are Zachary Levi as Fandral and Christopher Eccleston as Malekith.

Thor is going to kick all kinds of ass. It's going to be epic.

AMC has released the first five minutes of their intense-looking new drama called Low Winter Sun, which stars Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Zero Dark Thirty) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Jericho, Snatch). With Breaking Bad coming to an end, the network is looking for another great show to take its place, and this might be it!

The series is a "contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. Low Winter Sun begins with the murder of a cop by a fellow Detroit detective. Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter the detective’s life, and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld."

The series is based on the award-winning 2006 British miniseries of the same name. Season one consists of ten one-hour episodes, and it will air after Breaking Bad on Sunday nights starting on Sunday, August 11th. I'm looking forward to watching it! 

Community star Donald Glover has set up a new series at FX that he will create, write, executive produce, and star in. The series is a half hour music-themed comedy series tentatively called Atlanta, and it's set against the backdrop of the Atlanta music scene. Glover grew up in Atlanta and has a solid music career as a hip-hop artist under the stage name Childish Gambino.

Glover is no longer a regular on NBC's Community. He only appears in 5 of the 13 episodes of the upcoming fifth season, so he has the time to focus on this new series. Glover is a super talented guy, so I'm sure this is going to be a great series.

The reviews that have been coming out for Neill Blomkamp's Elysium have been mixed, and surprisingly a lot of people have been disappointed with it. But you know what? Screw those people! I'm still excited for the movie!

A new featurette has been released for the film that focuses on various droids and robots found in the world Blomkamp created. I've also included 2 clips, one of them red-band, a TV spot, and some cool concept art from a book that features the art from the film.

The sci-fi thriller stars Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley, Jodie Foster, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, William Fichtner, and Wagner Moura. The movie hits theaters on August 9th.

I don't care what anyone says, Leonardo DiCaprio is a great actor. I'm shocked the guy hasn't won an Oscar yet, but his day will come. Who knows? maybe his best actor win lies in this new film project he is attached to.  

Warner Bros. has just acquired a pitch for a film called King Harald, which is being written by a guy you've probably never heard of before. His name is Mark L. Smith and he's written films like Vacancy, Vacancy 2, and The Hole. He also scripted another film for DiCaprio's production company called Endurance, which is about "Polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, who led an expedition of 28 to the South Pole in 1914. When ice crushed the ship, Shackleton found a way to lead the entire crew back to safety despite the lethal cold."

This next film project sounds a lot more ambitious than anything else he's done before as it's based on Harald Hardrada, the 11th Century conqueror who has been called the last great Viking king.  "King Harald was King of Norway for two decades, but his quest for power and thirst for battle led to his being exiled for a time to Russia and then returning in triumph."

DiCaprio is attached to produce the film, which is being envisioned is a Braveheart-style story, but it's also being built as a starring vehicle for him. At one point he was going to star in a Viking film being developed by Mel Gibson, but that all fell apart after Gibson's craziness went public. 

I love history, and this could end up being a great film, and another opportunity for DiCaprio to try to get that Oscar.

Director Bryan Singer recently took a break from shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past to do a Q&A session at The Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. Thanks to JoBlo, we have a few details on some of the things he talked about, which included some information on X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as some other not so pleasant experiences he had working on the previous X-Men movies.

- X-Men DOFP: Shot in native 3D.

- X-Men DOFP: No Scarlet Witch.

- X-Men DOFP: William Stryker will be in the film with Josh Helman playing the role.

- X-Men DOFP: Not the brightest X-Men movie, but it has a good message, trying to right wrongs. 

- X-Men DOFP: Most of the movie takes place in 1973. Future segments are 10 years after X3.

- X-Men DOFP: You find the characters in very different places that you saw them in First Class. Shows them becoming who they have to be.

And these are some of the things he talked about regarding the other X-Men films he worked on. 

- Remembers Russell Crowe saying he'd play Wolverine - but only if he could play him bald. Didn't work.

- Thoughts on Cyclops demise in X3: Wishes he could bring him back. Wasn't happy with that choice. Could justify bringing Xavier back because he transferred his consciousness and could possibly construct a body around that consciousness. Was, however, happy about some things- like the casting of Ellen Page.

- On any Marvel movies he'd like to make: "IRON MAN so I could finally buy that house I always wanted or a plane." Seriously though, has an idea for a Marvel Universe mashup he didn't want to reveal.

- Once had a bad editing experience because he wasn't working with John Ottman. Wouldn't reveal the film (but it seems the first X-MEN was the only one Ottman didn't edit) but had such a big fight with the editor, that he smashed a bottle on the wall and was locked out of the editing room for three days. 

- Are superhero movies a trend or here to stay? Believes they are our modern day mythology- our generation's King Arthur. Lots of fun to reinvent and Will be around for a long time.

"Now do you believe in magic?" 

Absolutely love that line, which Zatanna says while controlling poor old Grundy (who happens to be the opposition in many of these character trailers. Feel a little bad for the guy. Well, I would if he weren't a crazy big grey monster guy who hurts people.) against his will. It's one of the many things Zatanna can do, and overall the character looks like she would be a blast for players looking for long combo strings. The slow-fireball-then-teleport-behind-you combo seen in the trailer looks fantastic for the person employing it, but will probably lead to many thrown controllers for those it's being done to. The character has two stances, one with wand and one without. You can download Zatanna for the typical add on fighter price of $4.99 starting on August 13th. 

Aside from the Scorpion season pass debacle, I've been pleased with the character selection for Injustice, and it's looking like fans might actually get both Zatanna and Power Girl in the same game, if the rumors are true that is. It's been four years since Spike Jonze directed his last feature film, Where the Wild Things Are, and we have the first trailer for his fantastic-looking next film Her, which stars Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt, and Olivia Wilde. 

I love Jonze's storytelling style, and this is basically his idea of a romantic film. It's so intriguingly different from anything that's been done before. The story is about a man who falls in love with a piece of software that is comparable to Apple's Siri. Here's the synopsis: 

In the not so distant future, Theodore (Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system designed to meet the user’s every needs. To Theodore’s surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system. This unconventional love story blends science fiction and romance in a sweet tale that explores the nature of love and the ways that technology isolates and connects us all.

The movie is set to be released on November 20th!

There have been many versions of Supergirl, but the one constant is youth and optimism. Unlike her cousin Superman who grows up with his super abilities, Kara Zor-El does not get her abilities until she's on earth. So she remembers what it's like to just be an ordinary person. She's often drawn with a huge grin. If I suddenly had superpowers, I'm sure I would too.

I've got another really cool beautifully made short film to show you! This is a sci-fi animated short called Initium. 

In the film there's an accident that threatens Earth, and the story follows a character named John Carson, a pilot who is sent to prevent the catastrophe from escalating, and time is running out. 

It was created by ArtFX and directed by a team that consists of Alexandre Decel, Adrien Lambert, Emeric Larochette, Vaimiti Guesdon, and James Ross-Greetham. Check it out!

Ridley Scott's next film is a thriller called The Counselor, and today we have a great new full trailer, and two clips from the film for you to watch. Scott got himself great set of actors for the movie that includes Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris, Rosie Perez, and John Leguizamo. 

The movie was scripted by Cormac McCarthy,  and the story takes place in the contemporary Southwest. It centers on a respected lawyer who thinks he can get into the drug business just a little without getting sucked in. Obviously, that turns out to be a bad decision, and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.

The movie looks like another great piece of filmmaking from the director, and it comes out on October 25th, 2013! To watch the trailer for the film, click here, and check out the clips below!

I love that they used Wolverine's classic costume look. The production quality of the short was solid, and I thought the outcome was really cool. Check it out!

We post so much fan-made art on GeekTyrant that it's sometimes easy to overlook the work of the professionals. Adi Granov's design of Iron Man is what really put him at the top of my list for favorite comic book artist. Granov's style is dimensional, cinematic, and pure awesome. It's easy to see why Marvel chose him to do lots of early concept work for Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers movies.

These are just a few comic book covers that he chose to feature on his personal site. His work just keeps getting better and better. It's solid work like Granov's that really makes me wish I bought comics more often.
