DEADPOOL 2 Director Wants to Deliver More Action and Irreverence

We all know that John Wick co-director David Leitch is going to give us an awesome action-packed Deadpool sequel. That's just a given, but he's never really talked about what he's actually planning to do with Deadpool 2... until now. During an interview with Empire, Leitch says he wants to deliver more action and expand on that irreverent tone. He says:

“There's more action in this film. I hope we can expand it and make it interesting in an 87Eleven* kinda way."

We've all see what kind of action he can deliver thanks to the John Wick franchise, and that's one of the reasons we were all so excited to see him jump on board to direct Deadpool 2 in the first place. We knew he was going to up the ante! He goes on to explain that the irreverent tone is what drew him into the franchise, saying:

“The completely irreverent tone was the thing that won me over about the first Deadpool movie. I want to deliver on what they did and at the same time hopefully expand the universe.”

We've still got awhile before we see anything from this movie, but I can't help but think that Leitch is going to deliver an action-packed film that will be unlike anything that we've ever seen before.

As of right now, I'm just eagerly awaiting the announcement of who will play Cable in the film. Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.

* Ed. Note: 87Eleven is Chad Stahelski and Leitch's stunt choreography studio and and production company, in case you didn't know. (I didn't.)

These 1987 STAR WARS-Themed Japanese Panasonic Ads Starring George Lucas Are Strangely Cool

The video embed below includes six Japanese Star Wars-themed Panasonic commercials that star George Lucas. I've never seen these before, and it's really strange, surreal, and cool to see Lucas in a series of ads like this.

These ads were made in honor of the 10th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: A New Hope. These were made during a time when there really wasn't much going on with Star Wars franchise in the US and there was more of a fanbase in Japan that Lucas could capitalize on.

Anyway, here's the result, and I'm sure they'll entertain you for the next four minutes. Thanks to /Film for the heads up!

Video Explains How Newgrounds Inspired a Generation of Animation

If you were a geek with an internet connection in the early 2000s, you were on Newgrounds at some point. The Flash animation site was a hub for fan games from your favorite shows and animation that would coin the term "viral." Was it controversial? Hell yes. There was some stuff on there that regularly got me in trouble with my parents when my ISP would flag it. It's been years since I've been to the site, but I think I might just hop over in honor of this video today. Learn more about the site's history below.

Some new promo art for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has surfaced thanks to Star Wars Celebration, and it gives us a better look at Rey's new look in the film. We got our first look at Rey, Finn, and Poe in the film thanks to some product packaging for the film. This art, which has been printed on t-shirts, gives us more of a three-quarter shot that shows off more of the costume. Anyway, if you're excited about the movie, I thought you might enjoy this little promo art tease of Rey.

For a small fortune, you can own the former home of Dracula actor Bela Lugosi. The house, which was originally built in 1932, has been spruced up a bit since then, but supposedly is still haunted by Lugosi. I can't imagine what he's chilling out there for other than complaining that his house is only going for $3 million in today's market...but I'm guessing he comes with the house if you sign the documents. Check out some pictures of the house below, and thanks to our friends at Bloody Disgusting for letting us know about this!

One of the more spectacular things that we saw at CinemaCon this year was some footage that Hugh Jackman shared from his new film The Greatest Showman. This movie looks absolutely beautiful. You can watch us talk about it in our reaction video above.

In the film, Jackman plays the legendary P.T. Barnum with a penchant for hoaxing a gullible public as he creates the three-ring circus that made him famous. The musical will also focuses on his infatuation with singer Jenny Lind -- the so-called Swedish Nightingale.

The movie also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, and Zendaya. It hits theaters on December 17th.

Seeing Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen) on the big screen together in Logan was a real treat for fans. It was so awesome watching them fight along side each other and watch their relationship grow throughout the course of the film.

If you aren't a hardcore X-Men fan, there might be a few things that you don't know about the X-23 character. Thanks to Looper we have a great video for you to watch that breaks down some little-known details about the character and the actress who played her.

After 17 years, two of the most recognizable X-Men in the movie world — Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier — have given their final bows as their beloved characters. Logan may be the most dystopian X-film, but it also represents a new beginning, introducing a brand new character — Laura Kinney — played by Dafne Keen. But what do we know about this fresh mutant hero and the young actress who portrays her?

If you are a fan of the film Logan and the character X-23, this is a video worth checking out.

Great Trailer for FIGHT FOR SPACE - A Documentary About the Space Race

great-trailer-for-fight-for-space-a-documentary-about-the-space-race1

"When I look at the present direction of our space program, I feel kind of disappointed."

The first trailer has been released for the inspiring documentary about the space race and how things in the space program has changed since the 1960s. The film is called Fight for Space and it takes us through the time where space exploration was fueled by beating the Russians, and how JFK pushed NASA to get us to the moon. It also goes into how things have changed since then and discusses why we stopped pushing space exploration, which is really sad!

I grew up with NASA in my life. I freakin' loved NASA! I was so into it that when I was a kid I helped build a space shuttle cockpit in our classroom and that thing was legit! I could've had fun spending all day in that thing playing around imagining what it would be like to be an astronaut. gUnfortunatley the space program isn't what it used to be. Anyway, if you are a big NASA geek like I am, you're gonna want to watch this documentary. Made my next website venture should be NASATyrant!

Fight for Space explores the past, present, and future state of the US Space Program, while making the argument that the exploration of space brings economic and cultural benefits to the nation. This film probes why and how the space program came adrift, will examine our current plans and asks, why don't we have a more ambitious space program and what steps can be taken to fix it?

Fight for Space hits select theaters starting on May 19th.

These are officially licensed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 inspired jackets representing Star-Lord and Gamora. I'd totally wear that Star-Lord jacket casually outside of cosplay. These are just slick looking Jackets and they are currently available for pre-order here for about $100. I think I'm going to have to buy myself that Star-Lord jacket or talk my wife into buying it for me.

Video Explores Popular Trope In Action Films "The Protagonist Throw"

Here's a cool video that examines a popular trope in action films, and how it's making action films worse the longer that it is used. I don't really like the name "The Protagonist Throw" as it's not exclusive to characters good or bad, but I do agree with most everything else he says about the trope and how it is overused for the wrong reasons nowadays. Hear what he has to say in the video below and share your thoughts below.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT will be an Animated Film

$

It appears someone in the universe has decided to remake Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Yes. The Musical. You know, the one with Donny Osmond and all the songs. Well, apparently Elton John thought it was a good idea so here we are. To make matters better (worse?) it is planned to be an animated film. It was announced at CinemaCon 2017 on Tuesday by Adam Fogelson, chairman of STX's Motion Picture group. The production company known for such great works as The Gift and Secret in Their Eyes.  And I'm not even trying to be facetious. They only started in 2015, so their slate of movies is very little.

For those who are completely ignorant of the musical, it is about Joseph, from the bible, who got a colorful coat because he was best boy of his family, and his brothers got in a hissy and sold him to slavers. The slavers slaved him, he worked for a dude who's wife tried to hit on him, got sent to jail, because the dude's wife made up lies about him, like ho's do, and then gets famous by being able to interpret the Pharaoh's dream about farming and agriculture saving the future. And it's a musical with a bunch of musical kind of songs. So now you know.

Look, I'm a guy who likes musicals, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I don't even mind Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.... that much. But if there is one thing I have a hard time coming round on, it's animated bible movies. Especially, animated bible musicals. I just have had too many bad experiences. Maybe it was because my mom made me watch them too much as a child, and I'm sorry, the Bible just isn't as interesting as Animaniacs.

Now, I trust Elton John, because he knows good music, and it is also be worked on by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber who will be writing some new songs for the Musical. It should be known that Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the music to the original Joseph musical in the late 1960's, as well as Phantom of the Opera. Only time will tell if this will be any good. More news perhaps about this movie as information is released.

The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book (DC Super Heroes)1

There's an official DC Superhero book that's been published and it includes more than 600 of the most hilariously awful jokes that you've ever seen. How bad you ask? We'll you'll just have to read some of the preview pages below to find out. I understand that the book is for kids, but even kids shouldn't be subject to such terrible humor.

Filled with more than 600 jokes inspired by beloved DC Comics characters and classic art, The Official DC Super Hero Joke Book is sure to provide hours of entertainment for kids ages 8 and up—and for adults who never grew out of liking a solid knock-knock or one-liner.

“When I was a kid, I loved the Super Powers action figure line from Kenner,” said author Noah Smith. “I joined the fan club they promoted and received the first and only newsletter for the club. It included a few jokes, some of which I still remember today—there was the classic about Flatman and Ribbon and one about the Penguin being on a ‘see-food’ diet. Those jokes meant a lot to me way back when, and it’s a nice thought that some kid might get as much of a kick out of the jokes in this book.”

If you want to order a book of bad DC superhero jokes, you can buy it here for $8.47.

Epic Final Trailer For Guy Ritchie's KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD

Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for Guy Ritchie's upcoming fantasy action film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. The new trailer includes some more crazy fun footage from the movie and in the process offers us some more information on the story.

This film is definitely a unique take on the King Arthur legend that includes some fantasy elements and I think it looks awesome! I've always been a fan of Guy Ritchie's directing style and seeing that style being used to bring this story to life is pretty cool.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword looks like it's exploding with energy and judging from the trailers it's gonna be a wild ride!

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is set to hit theaters on May 12th. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, and Eric Bana.

Out of all the things I've ever seen in movies that I've wanted, the amber mosquito egg from Jurassic Park tops the list! Surprisingly, these aren't that hard to make compared to the various other DIY projects I've seen on the web. For those of you who may think you lack the craftsmanship to pull this off don't worry, it looks like you only really need time and patience to get the perfect amber egg. You also need a fairly sizable mosquito, so maybe go buy a bug net? Check out the video below.
