If you didn't think that epic airport fight scene in Captain America: Civil War could get any better, you are wrong. It gets so much better with this amazingly hilarious video mashup that features the fight scene with the sounds from the hit fighting video game Marvel vs Capcom. The video was created by Twitter user Frobman, and this is what he said about it:

"A little bit of editing fun. Was I the only person who thought then when watching Captain America Civil War?"

This video edit is absolute perfection, and I know you're going to love it! So watch it now!

The Joker Won't Be a Part of Zack Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie

There was a rumor being reported online recently that Jared Leto's The Joker would be included in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The reports surfaced as the film production is headed to Iceland. If you happened to see that rumor and wondered if there was any truth to it, the answer it no.

Heroic Hollywood founder and The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez, took to Twitter to set the record straight saying:

It didn't seem like The Joker would even fit intoo Justice League. On top of that, a lot of fans really didn't really seem to care for Leto's version of The Joker anyways. I would have liked to see more development of the character in Suicide Squad. Turning him into a secondary character might have been a mistake. I really enjoyed Suicide Squad, but The Joker should've been introduced into the DCEU in his own movie with Harley Quinn.

The next time we see The Joker should be in Ben Affleck's solo Batman film, unless WB does decides to give him and Harley Quinn their own solo film.

Peter Berg Wants To Make THE RUNDOWN 2 With Jonah Hill Opposite Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson wasn't the ultra-superstar that he is now when he starred in Peter Berg's The Rundown with Seann William Scott. At that point, I think the biggest film Johnson had under his belt was The Scorpion King. It's crazy to see how far his career has gone since then because now he's the highest paid actor in Hollywood.

Now that he's such a big star, Berg would love to make The Rundown 2 and he would like to throw Jonah Hill in there to star alongside Johnson. During an interview with Collider, Berg was asked about the possibility of a sequel to The Rundown and this is what he had to say:

"We’ve been talking about it. You know, I wanted to do it with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. If I could get Jonah Hill, I’d do it tomorrow. If I could get Dwayne and Jonah Hill, I’d do it tomorrow."

When asked if this was actually possible, the director said:

"Anything’s possible. We want to do it, it’s just hard to get everybody, you know. It’s on our minds. We actually wrote a script. But I want Jonah Hill, so reach out to Jonah. Pressure Jonah to do it. If Jonah Hill would do it, I’m in."

The Rundown was a lot of fun. It's an action comedy that follows a tough aspiring chef who is hired to bring home a mobster's son from the Amazon. In the process, he becomes involved in the fight against an oppressive town operator and the search for a legendary treasure.

There are a lot of possibilities of what the sequel could be, but it would be a blast to see Hill and Johnson doing some kind of crazy action movie together. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it happens. Would you be down for watching a sequel to The Rundown?

Joe Dante Almost Directed a BATMAN Movie in the '80s with John Lithgow as The Joker

Before Tim Burton made his Batman movie in 1989, there was another attempt to get a movie made based on the Dark Knight. The movie started being developed in the 1980s after the success of Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie

Warner Bros. hired Tom Mankiewicz to write the script for the film. He previously worked on polishing up the notoriously bad early drafts of Superman: The Movie. He also worked on the James Bond films Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me.

The Batman film he wrote would have had a similar tone to Superman: The Movie and would have told an origin story for Batman. It also would have featured multiple villains like The Joker and Penguin, and it is described as having "Bond-esque set pieces for the climax."

The studio was looking to bring on Joe Dante to direct the film. He was hot off Gremlins at the time and had previously directed The Howling. During an interview with Psychotronic Cinema, Dante revealed that he wanted to cast John Lithgow in the role of The Joker and explained why he ultimately turned down the offer to direct the movie.

"I wanted to hire John Lithgow for that part because I had met him on The Twilight Zone movie. And for whatever reason, I started to gravitate more towards The Joker than towards Batman. And I actually woke up one night and I said to myself, 'I can’t do this movie—I’m more interested in The Joker than I am in Batman, and that’s not the way it should be.'
"I think I was not the right guy to do the movie."

I really wish that Dante had stuck with the project! I think it's great that he gravitated more towards the Joker! You don't think Burton and Christopher Nolan gravitated more toward the Joker when they used the characters in their film? Of course they did!

I would have loved to see what a Batman film directed by Dante would have been like, and I think Lithgow would have made a fantastic Joker! Too bad we'll never get to see what his Joker performance would've been like. Dante doesn't have any regrets about turning it down, though. He says:

"I don’t regret not doing Batman, in the sense that I’m not sure what it would have ended up being like. But I certainly can’t say it was a major career-booster, my decision not to make it."

I'll regret it for him.

Rebecca Hall Talks About Her Villainous Role in IRON MAN 3 Being Reduced

$

We all know that Iron Man 3 should have been a much better film, but the script went through so many different reworks that we ended up with what we got. Don't get me wrong — I enjoyed the film, but I think it could have been better.

A lot of fans were disappointed in the big twist involving The Mandarin. In case you don't remember, Ben Kingsley played an actor playing The Mandarin to throw the heroes off the scent of the true villain mastermind, Aldrich Killian, who was played by Guy Pearce

I actually kind of enjoyed the twist, but Marvel definitely got some backlash from it. Turns out writer and director Shane Black originally planned on having a completely different villain in the film. It was originally supposed to be Rebecca Hall's Mya Hansen. She originally signed on to play the villain in the film until the Marvel executives swooped in to change it. When talking to the Toronto Sun about it, Hall revealed:

“I signed on to do something that was a substantial role. She wasn’t entirely the villain – there have been several phases of this – but I signed on to do something very different to what I ended up doing.”

So what happened? Why did Marvel decide to minimize her villainous role? Black previously explained:

“All I’ll say is this, on the record: There was an early draft of Iron Man 3 where we had an inkling of a problem. Which is that we had a female character who was the villain in the draft. We had finished the script and we were given a no-holds-barred memo saying that cannot stand and we’ve changed our minds because, after consulting, we’ve decided that toy won’t sell as well if it’s a female…So, we had to change the entire script because of toy making.”

That's just ridiculous. Seriously, how many action figures did Marvel sell of Aldrich Killian? Does anyone even own an Aldrich Killian action figure? I've heard a lot of the decisions involving these kinds of things came from Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter, who is no longer involved with the Marvel Studios movies. Hall adds:

“Look, (Marvel) is paying for their mistakes right now and I applaud them for casting Brie Larson in Captain Marvel. Hallelujah. It’s about time women started being the heroes of things.”

I would have liked to see Rebecca Hall's villainous character fully realized in the film. At least Pepper Potts got to jump in an Iron Man suit, see some action, and save the day.

TNT and TBS Secure Television Rights To Air STAR WARS Films For $250 Million

In a $250 million dollar deal, Turner has secured the rights to air the Star Wars films on basic cable. Variety reports that starting September 20th, the first six Star Wars films will be airing on TNT, with The Force Awakens set to come in 2018 after it's done on Starz. It's also stated that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will also be available to the networks in 2019.

Essentially this all means that if you are going to see Star Wars on television it's going to be on either TBS or TNT until 2022! Six years for $250 million seems like a LOT of money, but I guess it is Star Wars we are talking about here!

In either case, it's super cool we'll all be getting to binge on Star Wars on TV next week!

Watch: Zachary Quinto Explains The Ease of Hacking a Voting Machine

It seems like we hear about "hacked voting machines" during every election, but is it really that common of a thing? Zachary Quinto and Wired say that while it may not be common, it's certainly easy to do. Apparently, it's possible for someone to hack into an electronic voting system and change every individual vote that was made on that system without being detected!

That's a pretty scary thought, although I've only voted on an electronic ballot once, and Quinto admits they are no longer that common.

Hear Quinto break it all down below. Also you may be wondering "Why is Zachary Quinto doing this video?" It's because he's in Snowden, which is out in theaters this Friday.

12 YEARS A SLAVE Actress Storm Reid Playing Meg in Ava DuVernay's A WRINKLE IN TIME

Disney's search is over for the actress who will play lead character Meg Murry in Ava DuVernay's upcoming film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. The studio sent out a press release announcing that 13-year-old Storm Reid has won the role, and DuVernay put out a statement:

"After an extensive search that spanned multiple dimensions, we're overjoyed to welcome Storm Reid to WRINKLE IN TIME as our beloved "Meg." Storm is a tremendously talented young actress who embodies the hopes, dreams and spirit of a character much loved by audiences worldwide for generations. I can't wait to work with Storm as we chronicle Meg's epic quest, alongside Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who. Tesser well!"

Reid appeared as Emily, a young girl ripped from her mother, in the harrowing 12 Years A Slave, and the press release says she's also appearing in actress Judy Greer's 2017 directorial debut A Happening of Monumental Proportions (a project I'd never heard of, but I'm glad Greer is taking charge behind the camera since she's been shafted in small roles so many times in front of it).

A Wrinkle in Time is about a young girl, her younger brother, and her friend who go on a search for her missing father, a government scientist who was working on a top secret project involving an inter-dimensional tesseract. Joining the girl on her journey are three supernatural beings: Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit.

Wicked Cool Early Concept Art For Yondu in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Director James Gunn recently shared some early concept art for Yondu that was created for his Guardians of the Galaxy film. The art was created by Andrew Kim and as you can see, it's drastically different design than what Michael Rooker's character ended up looking like in the movie.

I love the design that Gunn ended up using in the movie, but this is a very cool design that shows us that they were looking at a lot of different options for the character. This design has a very tribal look to it, and he's wearing armor that looks like could be inspired by the armor the ancient Mayan warriors would wear.

What do you all think of this alternate character design for Yondu?

Netflix Subscriptions Up 2% Despite Price Increase

Since its $2 price hike in July, Netflix has experienced a 2% subscriber boost and sits with a 95% subscriber satisfaction rate. Engadget says on top of all that, the amount of subscribers displeased with their service is at 1%! Meanwhile, the streaming service's competitors are scrambling to achieve the same level of success with little to show for it. Why?

I'm no expert, but I found it weird how I initially got Netflix for its selection of films, and now I still have it for its original programming and television. Is that why you still have your Netflix account? If you cancelled Netflix, why did you cancel?

Kurt Russell Praises GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2's "Very Complex Story"

I missed Comic-Con this year, and since Marvel hasn't released all of the footage online that they showed during their presentation, only the people who were in Hall H that Saturday night got to see footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I know Doctor Strange is coming up next and Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War are all on the horizon, but right now I think Guardians 2 is my most anticipated movie of the studio's immediate upcoming slate. I loved the first film, and with the returning cast, returning writer/director James Gunn, and new additions like Kurt Russell, I'm dying to see what happens to those intergalactic misfits.

In a new interview with Collider, Russell talked about the feeling while he was on set (playing Peter Quill's father, a humanoid version of Ego the Living Planet), praised the complexity of the film's story, and more.

“Well, I’m doing the #2 one, right? So I was really impressed that all of the people on the set were so excited because they felt this was so much stronger than the first one, that they really knew what they were doing and the story itself was strong. That pervaded the set. James and everybody else felt like ‘We got our sea legs on the first one, now we can really go.’”
“I was impressed with the stuff that I saw at Comic-Con, but they didn’t show you everything [laughs]. It’s a very complex story, and they really get into it. This is going to be one of the more—probably for Marvel, it’s more connected to human issues, family issues, parental issues, and issues that sons and daughters have with their moms and dads and their family tree, where they come from. I just think it’s going to be an interesting— Peter’s character in this one, he’s got dilemmas and he’s got decisions to make that are not just about whether to save that thing or that person. This is about finding out who you are, where you come from, and where you’re going.”

The personal aspects of the first Guardians movie are a big part of why that movie works so wonderfully, and I'm excited to hear that Gunn kept that aspect alive in the sequel. Anyone else have this as their most anticipated Marvel Studios movie of the upcoming slate?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.

The Beauty of H.R. Giger's ALIEN Design Detailed in Cool Video

Today I learned that the "H. R." in H. R. Giger's name is "Hans Rudolf." I can't believe I went all these years without questioning what that stood for, but now I'm glad I know! Some of you may have heard the story of the Xenomorph from Alien coming from something H.R. Giger saw while on LSD, and while that may be true, Kaptain Kristian says Ridley Scott hand-selected the creature from one of Giger's books. Judging from the fact the Xenomorph changes very little from the original design, it's not impossible that both stories are true and that Giger's inspiration just happened long before he knew his design would become a film icon.

Learn more about Giger and his creation in this cool video below!

First Full Trailer For Woody Allen's Amazon Series CRISIS IN SIX SCENES

I've never really been a huge Woody Allen fan. I think Midnight in Paris may be my favorite film of his, but I tried to go back and watch Manhattan a few months ago and I just couldn't force myself to get through it. I know he's a prolific mainstay who's beloved by a lot of cinephiles, but his style can get a little grating sometimes.

Here's the first full trailer for his new 1960s-set Amazon TV series Crisis in Six Scenes, which stars Allen, Miley Cyrus, Elaine May, John Magaro (Orange is the New Black, The Big Short), and more. What do you think? Is this something you're interested in watching? The six-episode first season will be available on Amazon starting September 30, 2016.

I already know there are going to be some people who overlook this and are like "PSSSH, LATE, SAW THAT A COUPLE DAYS AGO." Here's where you're wrong, Bucko! Yes, there was a .gif that made the rounds that inserted Deadpool into the fight scene between Spider-Man and Captain America in Captain America: Civil War. Then YouTuber Zach Ace went and added some dialogue between the two for a shot that seems a bit more natural!

It's pretty amazing to watch, and since you were late to the party you get to experience it in full and not just in .gif form! Thanks to Reddit for the tip!

Is This Long-Gone GAME OF THRONES Character Finally Coming Back in Season 7?

It's been a little while since we've checked in with what's happening across the pond in Belfast, where filming for the highly-anticipated seventh season of Game of Thrones is about to begin. Last year, mega-fans were on high alert for sightings of Kit Harington, because the previous season ended with a cliffhanger about whether or not he was really dead. (Turns out he was, but not for long.) Now there's been a new sighting of a different character near the set, and it's someone who fans have been wondering about for a long time. Beware: possible spoilers ahead.

Remember Gendry, Arya's traveling buddy who also happens to be the bastard son of Robert Baratheon? He was last seen freed from Dragonstone by Ser Davos, rowing away toward King's Landing, but we haven't seen him since season 3.

Looks like that could change, since actor Joe Dempsie was spotted in Belfast yesterday:

As Vanity Fair (who alerted us to this news) points out, Dempsie's presence in the Belfast airport isn't a guarantee that he'll appear again on the show, but all things considered, it's a pretty good bet. Especially since now that all three of Cersei's children have died, Gendry is the last one with Baratheon blood in him (the other kids didn't actually have Baratheon blood in them because they were fathered by Jaime, but Cersei kept up the illusion that they were Robert's children to save face and keep control of the throne). Now that Cersei has taken over the throne, it would be very interesting to see Gendry resurface to try to stake a claim himself — but oh yeah, they also have to worry about Dany and her dragons heading straight for them.

So basically, this isn't confirmed, but it's a step in the right director for what could be a very cool return for a long-lost GOT character. Do you want to see Gendry come back?

(Apologies for the unrelated header photo. Didn't want to spoil anyone.)

Retro PAC-MAN Lamp, Complete With Classic Sound Effects From The Game

If you happen to have a game room in your house or apartment, or you just really dig Pac-Man, The Fowndry's new Pac-Man lamp might be just the thing for you.

This remote-controlled light includes a dimmer feature and 12 classic arcade sound effects, which the site suggests can be used as an alarm clock to wake up children. That seems unnecessarily cruel, especially after you hear the sounds in the video below — I can see how they would get extremely annoying very quickly, but it is a fun, non-traditional way to light up a room and would probably look great next to an arcade cabinet or pinball machine.

First Look Photo of Batman's Tactical Batsuit From JUSTICE LEAGUE

Director Zack Snyder jumped on Twitter today to give fans an update about the progress of Justice League, revealing that he's in the home stretch and showing off what I believe is the first look at Batman's tactical Batsuit in the movie.

Is it just me, or does this look a lot like the Nite Owl costume from Snyder's Watchmen? I realize that comic character's costume was partially inspired by Batman, but it seems like now the feedback loop has come back around again with this new look at The Dark Knight.

Also, the photo (as you might expect from Snyder) is very dark...as in, literally we can't see the details very well. I've lightened it up and bumped down the contrast in the version below, so you can actually take in some of Batman's surroundings and get a better look at the suit. What do you think?

James Cameron Explains How He Wrote RAMBO II and ALIENS at The Same Time

Anyone who tells you that writing is an easy job is lying, crazy or insanely good at it. I stress over writing even if I have no deadline. James Cameron, on the other hand, apparently could take the stress of writing and turn it into awesomeness.

During an interview for the documentary The Inspiration and Design of Aliens, Cameron talks about how he came up with the outline for Aliens, one of the best sci-fi movies EVER (at least in my opinion). However, that wasn’t the only thing he was working on — he was also writing Rambo: First Blood Part II at the same time. Thanks to EW, we have a clip from the doc in which Cameron explains how he handled working on both writing jobs at once:

"So I wound up getting two writing gigs the same day. One was Rambo: First Blood Part II and the other one was Alien 2. Like I'd gone in on the meetings and I wound up getting the phone calls the same morning. So I took both jobs and I had a three month period to write Rambo and what became Aliens. So what I did was I got a desk for each script. I put one in the bedroom and one in the living room. That way when I moved from one desk to the other, all the notes and papers and everything were right where they were supposed to be."

He also explains that he listened to different kinds of music while writing each script. I think that his process worked out great for not only him but for us also. You can watch this whole documentary when you buy the 30th anniversary limited edition Aliens Blu-ray, which is where part of my next paycheck is going to.
