List of Every Superhero and STAR WARS Movie Being Released Through 2020

This is a full list of every superhero and Star Wars movie that is set to be released all the way through 2020, and it looks insane! The world is going to be over-saturated with superhero movies! Do you think this pattern will hold, or do you think audiences will get burnt out of watching these kinds of movies? I don't think I will ever get burnt-out unless they start making one shitty film after another, but I don't think that will happen though. I'd like to believe that the good movies will outweigh the bad.  I just enjoy these types of movies, and it seems like audiences do as well. It's going to be really interesting to see how these movies evolve over the next few years.

JJ-Abrams-Droid-Hand.jpg

It doesn't seem like that long ago when director J.J. Abrams kicked off Star Wars: Force For Change, which was an initiative to raise money for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the top prize for which would be a trip to the set of Star Wars Episode VII

Over the past few months Abrams has provided fans with a fun look at some behind the scenes awesomeness from the film. The first video showed us an alien creature from the universe, and a second video revealed the cool looking new X-Wing fighter.

Today, Abrams revealed the results of the initiative, which raised over $4.2 million dollars, as well the winner’s name. He then posted a photo on Twitter with a thank you note being held by a robotic hand. This could very well be a droid's hand from the film, or maybe... just maybe, it's Luke Skywalker's robotic hand stripped of its skin.

Here's the full press release:

With an exciting initiative that offered a chance to win unique rewards and prizes, including a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize, Star Wars: Force for Change raised $4,261,410 USD for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Contributions were received via fundraising platform Omaze from citizens of 125 countries and enough money was raised to support the equivalent of 7-8 new UNICEF Innovation Labs.

The grand-prize winner was D.C. Barns of Denver Colorado, who shared during a donor video chat that the first time he saw Star Wars when it opened in theaters in 1977, when he was only five. “I loved it! … I just couldn’t get it out of my head of 35 years.” D.C. was then asked to share his favorite Star Wars moment. As he began to reply, he was suddenly surprised in his Denver office by members of Star Wars: Force for Change team. Once settled, D.C. exclaimed, “This! This is my new favorite Star Wars moment!”

D.C. will enjoy a trip to London for himself and a guest, a behind-the-scenes visit to the Star Wars set, and will be fitted with a costume and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode Vll.

UNICEF’s current network of 14 Innovation Labs help create sustainable solutions to critical issues facing children around the world in the areas of nutrition, water, health, and education. The funds raised through Star Wars: Force for Change will impact the lives of children around the world, through projects like MobiStation, a portable, solar-powered educational kit to ensure children have access to quality learning anywhere, and Rapid FTR (Family Tracing and Reunification), a mobile phone application that helps reunite separated and unaccompanied children with their families in natural disasters.

Disney committed an additional US $1 million to support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change. Star Wars continues to inspire generations of dreamers and doers to use their creativity to accomplish great things. Star Wars and Lucasfilm were built on the belief that in uniting creativity with innovation, you can make the impossible possible.

If you haven't had the opportunity to watch the first episode of Steven Soderbergh's new series The Knick yet, Cinemax has released it on YouTube for you to watch right now. This is seriously an amazing start to what is sure to be an incredible series. One episode in and I'm completely hooked. This show is freakin' crazy! I would have never gone to a doctor back in the 1900s… my goodness; the stuff they did to further medicine and science was nightmarish.

The series stars Clive Owen, and all 10 episodes of the first season were directed by Soderbergh. The second season to the series is currently in development.

In New York City in 1900, the Knickerbocker Hospital operates with innovative surgeons, nurses and staff who have medicinal limitations to prevent staggeringly high mortality rates. Dr. John Thackery, the newly appointed leader of the surgery staff, battles his cocaine and opium addictions with his ambition for medical discovery and reputation among his peers. Harvard graduate Dr. Algernon Edwards must fight for respect within the all-white-populated hospital, as well as the racially charged city. While literally struggling to keep the lights on, the hospital attempts to attract a wealthy clientele, without sacrificing quality care.

Robin Williams Found Dead

Legendary Academy Award-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead today in his home. He was 63 years old. This is incredibly sad news, and I'm just kind of taking it all in as I write this. Williams was incredibly talented, and I grew up watching his stuff, starting all the way back with episodes of his TV series Mork & Mindy

According to reports he was found in his home, and the cause of death is believed to be suicide via asphyxiation. That comes from the coroner’s office in Tiburon, California. A couple of weeks ago it was reported that he checked into rehab to maintain his sobriety. His publicist, Mara Buxbaum, released the following statement:

"This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

The man had a great, successful career. Some of my favorite films he was in include Aladdin; Good Morning, Vietnam; Dead Poets Society; Awakenings; The Fisher King; Mrs. Doubtfire; Jumanji; The Bird Cage; Good Will Hunting; Insomnia, and so many more.

Man, the guy was a true film legend.  It really does make me sad that we won't see him in any more movies. I'm really upset that this happened. Our hearts and prayers go out to his friends and family

Thank you for all the laughs, Mr. Williams.

"I will not rest until I see you in your graves."

HBO has released a full trailer for the fifth and final season of Boardwalk Empire, and it looks like it's going to be an intense ride. They have an interesting choice of music for the trailer that I liked. It's The Killers' "Tranquilize."

America in the 1920's. The Great War is over, Wall Street is about to boom and everything is for sale, even the World Series. It is a time of change when women are getting the vote, broadcast radio is introduced, and young people rule the world.

On the beach in southern New Jersey sits Atlantic City, a spectacular resort known as "The World's Playground," a place where rules don't apply. Massive hotels line its famous Boardwalk, along with nightclubs, amusement piers and entertainment to rival Broadway. For a few dollars, a working man can get away and live like a king -- legally or illegally.

The series is set to be released on September 7th, at 9 PM.

Michael Bay Will Eventually Pass TRANSFORMERS to a New Director

I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Bay's Transformers movies. They are mediocre at best, and that might be putting it too kind. It doesn't matter though! The movies make billions of dollars, so as long as they keep raking in the cash, Paramount Pictures is going to keep pumping out sequels. The last film that was released was Transformers: Age of Extinction, which was the start of a new trilogy that Bay may or may not follow through with as a director.

In an interview with USA Today, he reveals that he will eventually pass the torch to a new director so that he can focus on other movies that he wants to make. Here's an excerpt from the article:

Bay, 49, believes he will pass the baton for future Transformer movies to a new director while he turns his focus elsewhere.

“There’s kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make,” says Bay, who is eyeing a passion project, a documentary on elephant poaching. “I have a lot of stories to tell. And it’s about flexing new muscles.”

I personally think this would be the best thing for the filmmaker and the franchise. I would actually like to see a fresh take on Transformers through the vision of another director. I also think it will be good for Bay to move on to different things.

He gave no indication on when he would let another director take over. It could be part 5, part 6 or maybe not until part 23.

YouTube's The Unusual Suspect has recut a trailer for The NeverEnding Story in the style (and to the music) of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It's a very effective trailer, and it make me want to go back and revisit this classic '80s film that I loved so much as a kid.

Michael Fassbender on ASSASSIN'S CREED Movie and Respecting the Game

Assassins-Creed-41.jpg

I think we're about to enter a new era where video game film adaptations don't suck. Ubisoft has several video games they are currently developing into feature films, and they all have top-notch talent attached to them. My hope is that they are able to usher in a new breed of video game movies that will actually give fans what they want to see.

One of these movies is Assassins Creed, which Michael Fassbender is producing and starring in. The actor talked about the project in a recent interview with IGN, in which he says they have intense desire to "respect the game."

"You know, we absolutely want to respect the game. There’s so much cool stuff in the game that we’re actually spoiled for choice in terms of what we can use and what we can’t, but we also want to bring new elements to it and perhaps our own version of things that already exist in the game.

"But we’re definitely making a feature film, and we’re approaching it as a feature film, as opposed to approaching it as a video game. But I love the world. I don’t really play that many video games, but when I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they started to explain this whole world and the idea of DNA memory — you know, I think it’s a very feasible scientific theory. I just thought, 'This is so rich,' and about the possibility of it being this cinematic experience. So I’m really excited about it, and we’re working very hard to make sure that we’ve got the best and most exciting, original package."

At one point there was a rumor going around that Fassbender was unhappy with the script, and that he had left the project. But that's not true at all, and the actor is very involved with developing it. When asked about it, this is what he had to say:

"I know, I love these rumors! It’s fantastic. People talk about it, and they’re hopefully interested. Nothing has changed, yeah. I’m still a part of Assassin’s Creed, and we’re working on the script as we speak. Actually, I’m going to go back and see the writers when I get back to Europe."

The script has gone through several drafts already from writers such as Scott Frank (The Wolverine) and  Adam Cooper and Bill Collage (Exodus: Gods and Kings), with the original draft having been written by Michael Lesslie. Ubisoft Motion Pictures is co-producing the film with New Regency. Fox will distribute.

Assassin’s Creed is set for release on August 7th, 2015.

I'm not really buying into all this Fifty Shades of Grey hype, but this mashup trailer with Frozen is pretty damn amusing. It was created by YouTube user Tranceart Violeta, and it really turned out well.

For those of you who want to continue to think of Frozen as an innocent children’s film, I suggest you don't watch the trailer, because it takes things to a very weird level with these characters.

When the fourth season of The Walking Dead ended with Rick Grimes saying, "They're going to feel pretty stupid when they find out … that they're screwing with the wrong people," fans went nuts. It was such a badass line and a great ending to an amazing season. Of course, right after it ended, I know that the people I watched it with and I wished they would have dropped the F-bomb instead of "screwed." It's just a more powerful and forceful word, and of course, it's what he said in the comic. But, you can't drop the F-bomb on basic cable… yet. Well, guess what. They did film an alternate ended where he does drop the F-word, and it's so much more effective and powerful.

During an interview with THR Andrew Lincoln told them that he had to push to get that scene shot with the F-bomb.

"The gloves certainly came off this season with Carol's episode, Carl, losing Hershel and now this. I thought it would be an incredible moment to see the moral cop lay that one down. I think we're going to save that for the hardcore fans. I did a few takes and said, 'It's done!' and [showrunner] Scott [M. Gimple] said we had to do the other one. I said, 'It's amazing, we have to leave this in!'"

You can watch the alternate ending below, and if you want to see the trailer for season 5 click here. The alternate ending will be included in the DVD and Blu-ray release.

Who is the new Doctor and will Clara’s friendship survive as they embark on a terrifying mission into the heart of an alien conspiracy? The Doctor has changed. It’s time you knew him.

This great series of art incorporates a few other horror icons that the Scooby-Doo Mystery Team would have had a lot of fun taking on. The art series is called Scooby Doo Lost Mysteries, and they were created by IBTrav. They feature Ghost Face, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers. Someone needs to turn these images into actual animated Scooby-Doo adventures. They'd make for great episodes, and I'd love to see how they handled these shady, murderous villains.

New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Details Emerge

some-new-details-emerge-about-batman-v-superman

We recently received a tip from an extra who was working on the Detroit set of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Apparently, he worked on the production for ten days, and while he was there he learned a few things about the movie that I thought I'd share.

Since we have no confirmation that any of the following information is true, we'll consider it a rumor for now. I will also throw out a SPOILER warning just to make sure you know that you don't have to read ahead if you don't want to.

According to the extra, the ending of the film has already been filmed. One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod's body.

He went on to talk about the timeframe of the movie and where it picks up, saying that it starts "as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we've been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis."

That's all the information that he had to offer, but there's a few nuggets of information there I thought some of you might find interesting. I just can't wait to see these two superheroes finally face off on the big screen. The footage screened at Comic-Con was epic, and the crowd in attendance was definitely sold on it.

Leaked EPISODE VII Set Photos from Inside the Millennium Falcon

A few new photos have leaked from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. What's cool about these is that three of them come from the inside of the Millennium Falcon that director J.J. Abrams had built. The other photo provided looks like a corridor shot from another set. The origin of the photos come from mintinbox.net, but I came across them at makingstarwars.net. This would have been such an amazing set to work on, I would have loved to see some of this stuff in person. I would just spend the whole time playing around in the Millennium Falcon. That's what I did as a kid! Only my Millennium Falcon was a cardboard box. Just for the hell of it I also included photos from the original Star Wars movie set.

As part of the 45th anniversary of Disney's The Haunted Mansion theme park attraction, they've released a set of limited edition prints for fans. I love the theme of the art and that the characters pay tribute to the paintings in the stretching room at the beginning of the attraction. Here are the details:

Starting Saturday, August 9, through October 31, Disneyland Food & Beverage gets in on the fun of the Haunted Mansion 45th anniversary at Disneyland park with some really fun collectibles. Start with these four charming prints on canvas: Minnie Mouse at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante; Mickey Mouse and pals at River Belle Terrace; Daisy Duck at Plaza Inn; and Goofy at French Market Restaurant.

The prints are just $5 with each single purchase of $30 or more (before tax). Supplies are super limited and available during regular operating hours.

More Haunted Mansion fun is the souvenir popcorn bucket with all four prints, available at the New Orleans Square popcorn cart. And the souvenir travel mug, available at all New Orleans Square locations – this one shows Mickey Mouse as the famous Hatbox Ghost and Minnie Mouse as Constance the bride, while “grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize.”

Vin Diesel Teases Marvel's INHUMANS, But Why?!

$

vin-diesel-teases-marvels-inhumans-but-why

Vin Diesel sure does love to tease his fans about Marvel projects. It all started when when he revealed to the world that he had been invited to a meeting at Marvel Studios. After that happened he teased various different announcements, lots of rumors and speculation started to swirl, and it all led to him being cast as the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. Maybe there's something more to it, though.

Over the weekend for some reason he decided to tease Inhumans in a statement he made on his Facebook page with an image of Groot.

"Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen! I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha."

Why would he tease The Inhumans from out of nowhere like that? There is a movie that has been been in development for awhile. Does this suggest that it's still moving forward with Diesel's involvement?

Last year the actor did tease that he was up for a role in a Marvel movie coming out in 2017. That movie clearly wasn't Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the exact quote from ComicBook:

"When I first got the call from Kevin Feige, he prefaced the call by saying ‘This is the strangest character Marvel has ever attempted.’ He said ‘Don’t answer me now, but instead of making the fans wait until 2017, there’s something that would be a brilliant idea, we think you could be the only person who could bring the emotion to this very challenging task. Don’t answer me Vin, don’t answer me, let me send over my conceptual art."

That character is, of course, Groot. But it's the "making fans wait until 2017" comment that really sticks out in that quote. Wait for what? What is Vin doing with Marvel in 2017? It's obviously something! Maybe The Inhumans is one of two Marvel movies scheduled for released in 2017.

Yeah, the actor could be completely screwing with the fans. But it also makes complete sense if he ended up in another Marvel movie. If he has been cast in The Inhumans, there's a good chance that he will play a character named Black Bolt who doesn't speak, but the part would require his physicality. So for one Marvel character the only thing he really provides is his voice (Groot) and the other character would only require his physicality (Black Bolt). Makes sense to me.

Fans just can't seem to get enough of Harley Quinn, she just such a fantastic character. DC Entertainment has released a new clip from Batman: Assault on Arkham in which the character gets into a little scuffle with Batman.

"Gotham is in great danger when the government assembles a group of villains — code named the Suicide Squad — and forces them to break into Arkham Asylum to retrieve top secret information stolen by the Riddler. Things take a turn for the worse when one of the Squad members (Harley Quinn) frees the Joker, who is intent on blowing up Arkham Asylum and Gotham City. Batman must use his super hero wits and strength to thwart the wicked plans of the Joker and the Suicide Squad."

The film goes on sale today for DVD and Blu-ray so you can now pick it up if you are so inclined. Thanks to CBR!

Marvel Moving Forward on INHUMANS Movie with Completed Script1

Earlier today we posted an article about Vin Diesel teasing another Marvel role, only for a different project called The Inhumans. This is a project Marvel has been developing for awhile already, and thanks to Collider we've learned that the studio has a completed script by Joe Robert Cole all ready to go, and now they are taking that script to filmmakers.

There was actually a point where Marvel was trying to decide if they wanted to make a Guardians of the Galaxy movie or an Inhumans movie first. They obviously ended up going with Guardians, but The Inhumans isn't far behind. There's a very good chance that it will be one of the Marvel movies coming out in 2017. According to the report:

Marvel plans to handle The Inhumans in the same way they handled Guardians of the Galaxy. For those who don’t know, the original draft of Guardians was written by Nicole Perlman, who was part of Marvel’s writing program. That draft then went out to filmmakers. When James Gunn came on board, he added his flavor and details to the story, but the characters, story structure, and beats from Perlman’s draft remained in place. As Adam explained in his recent editorial, directors are brought on board to execute a specific vision.

Cole was also a part of Marvel's writing program, and whomever they bring on to direct will take that script as a reference and turn it into their own thing. Marvel is known for bringing on solid talent, so I have confidence that they'll hire a director who has a unique vision on the comic book and its characters.

The site's source went on to tell them that "this movie is part of Marvel not only expanding its list of properties, but actively building a multiple-film cosmic universe."

The Inhumans were created by the Kree in a series of alien experiments they were conducting on primitive homo-sapiens. The Kree ended up abandoning their work, and the Inhumans created went on to form a society of their own. That society is led by the king Black Bolt and his family Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad, and the canine Lockjaw. For more info on these characters, head on over to the Marvel Wiki page.

Diesel is rumored to be playing the part of Black Bolt, which would be so cool! Marvel has yet to confirm any of this, so we'll treat it as a rumor for now… a rumor that will most likely turn out be true.
