Cool NEW MUTANTS Movie Animatic Reveals That Demon Bear Is the Villain

We know that director Josh Boone has been developing a feature film adaptation of Marvel's New Mutants for Fox. There hasn't been a lot of information released on this project, in fact, the studio hasn't really given any official announcements. There have been a few casting rumors that say Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) could be cast as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) could play Magik, and Alexandra Shipp (Stright Outta Compton) might reprise her role as Storm.

Thanks to Comingsoon, we have a cool storyboard animatic and piece of concept art that was created for a scene in the film, and it reveals that Demon Bear will be the main villain! He's a big bear with super strength, and he draws his power from negative human emotion. He can also teleport and corrupt the souls of people.

The report goes on to reveal that the movie will be "a big departure from the sci-fi-action spectacle of other X-Men films and is instead being described as a 'Stephen King meets John Hughes'-style horror movie."

They also say that The Fault in Our Stars star Nat Wolff is being eyed for the role of the mutant Cannonball. The studio is looking to release the film in spring 2018. Check out the animatic below and let us know what you think about the new information we've learned about the film.

Red-Band Trailer for Jay Baruchel and Seann William Scott's GOON 2: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS

I though the 2011 hockey comedy Goon was a surprisingly funny movie. A sequel has been in the works for awhile, and we finally have the first trailer for it to share with you. It's called Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers, and it was directed by Jay Baruchel who also co-wrote the sequel and reprises his role from the first film.

The movie once again stars Seann William Scott as The Thug, and the story revolves around his return to the Halifax Highlanders to reclaim his former glory. He will be joined by a supporting cast that includes Elisha Cuthbert, Liev Schreiber, Alison Pill, Wyatt Russell, Marc-André Grondin, and Kim Coates.

After one too many concussions, hockey enforcer Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) is forced to give up his aspirations of going to the big show and settle into a buttoned down career as an insurance salesman at the urging of his pregnant wife Eva (Alison Pill). However, Doug can’t resist the siren call of the Highlanders, so he sets course to reclaim his former glory.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers opens in Canada on March 17, 2017. There's no U.S. release date yet, but I'm sure it will eventually get one.

Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn Address That Big GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Easter Egg

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn recently reconfirmed that there's a big Easter egg in the film that no one has found yet. I'm looking forward to the day when someone does find it and it's confirmed by Gunn himself.

While attending the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn both addressed the unfound Easter egg. During one of the the panels at the event, a fan got up a presented his theory on what the Easter egg might be. He said:

"When Star-Lord is trying to sell the cosmic cube, the infinity stone, there's the Ankh symbol, the symbol of the Brotherhood of the Ankh created by the In-Betweener in the comic books, which was the balance between the opposing entities the Lord Chaos and Master Order."

Rooker jokingly replied with, "Yeah, then what happens?" Which was followed by laughter from the audience. After the laughter died down the fan said:

"Well, it obviously sets up for the Infinity War story."

Rooker quickly snapped back and said, "Yeah, so what?" and the fan continued by asking if that was a possible Easter egg. Rooker didn't confirm it, but he did tell him, "You think so huh? Good thinking. Next!"

I'd say that's a no. Then in an interview CB, Sean Gunn was asked about the Easter egg, and he couldn't really reveal what it was because he can't remember!

"I feel like I should just take your $20 and then just make something up, but you see fans get crazy because these things that people want to know sooo badly, a lot of times my brother [James Gunn] tells me these things...and I just forget them because they're not all that important to me. It does exist..it definitely does exist. I don't remember if he told me or not!"

So it looks like you'll all just have to keep on looking! Now, I'm off to watch the movie a hundred more times.

New SHERLOCK Season 4 Photos Introduce Baby Watson

The last time we saw Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson was last year's Christmas special. Jan. 1, 2017 Sherlock returns, and based on the two photos of Watson carrying what many assume to be "baby Watson," we can also assume at least a nine month time gap has happened from when we last saw them. We have new photos of Mark Gatiss (Mycroft Holmes), Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson), and Una Stubbs (Mrs. Hudson). Also included in our photo gallery is one of Toby Jones, who plays Culverton Smith, Holmes's new nemesis.

Word on the street is that these could be the show's final four episodes, which I'm sure many of us would be very sad too see happen. I would love if they just left a several year time gap and come back when they feel like they have some really solid stories that they absolutely have to make.

Celebrate Thanksgiving with Eight Memorable Food Scenes in Movies

Thanksgiving is here, and for many Americans, this holiday is all about family, football, and food. (I’d guess that a majority of the GeekTyrant readership would trade a football game for a movie, but the other two aspects probably hold true.) So while you’re hanging out with friends and family and waiting to fill your plate for the second, third, or fourth time today, check out this quick list of some of the best food-related movie scenes from the past fifteen years. I’ll save you some time, too — you’re not going to find any quips or witty reasoning behind each of these choices. Gimme a break, it’s Thanksgiving. This is not the meatiest article you’ll ever read — pun very obviously intended — but at the very least, it should leave you feeling hungry (or, in the case of Wedding Crashers, with a clear idea of what not to do with your significant other during a family meal).

New ASSASSIN'S CREED Poster Presents a Kaleidoscope of Ancestors

$

From what we've seen so far in the trailers, Assassin's Creed seems to only take place in two time periods: the "near" future and, thanks the Animus a machine that lets you relive the memories of ancestors, 15th century Spain. The recently released poster looks like we might see more time periods across multiple ancestors. In the video game they only focus on one ancestor at a time. Obviously the movie is going to need to compress things a bit. This makes me wonder if what we've seen in the trailers only scratches the surface.

Mid to late December has Rogue One on the 16th and Assassin's Creed going head-to-head with Passengers on December 21st. Rogue One will easily be #1 two weeks in a row. I sadly think that Assassin's Creed will lose out to the star power of Passengers. I really think Assassin's Creed should have opened in early December. I hope the movie doesn't continue the trend of lackluster box office receipts for movies based on video games.

Angela Lansbury Doesn't Understand Why Disney Is Remaking BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Disney fans seem to be incredibly excited about the live-action remake of the classic animated film Beauty and the Beast. So far, everything that I've seen from the film from the first trailer looks great, and I'm looking forward to seeing more and hearing the music.

Angela Lansbury was a main staple of the original film as she provided the voice of the character Mrs. Potts. During an interview with EW, Lansbury was asked about what she thinks of the new live-action film and she doesn't understand why Disney is doing it. She said:

"I was a bit taken aback, naturally. I thought, 'Why? Why are we doing this over again?' But I guess, I don’t know why they’re doing it. But they are, and it will be interesting to see what they do with it. These are live action pieces and I know very well the actress who’s playing Mrs. Potts and she’s a very good friend of mine. It’s Emma Thompson."

Then she was asked how she felt about another actress taking on the role of Mrs. Potts, and she once again expressed her confusion as to why Disney is remaking the original classic, saying:

"Oh, absolutely. I don’t quite know why they’re doing it. I can’t understand what they’re going to do with it that will be better than what we’ve already done. And how they’re doing it live — it may turn out to be very entertaining and wonderful. It won’t be like the cartoon that we did, but it’s a good story — it’s one of the famous fairy stories that is known worldwide by children. Therefore, why not? I don’t blame them for doing it. But, I’m sorry, they’re not really on our territory. We did it as cartoon characters, and that is quite different from live actors."

The live action film does look like it will almost be a shot-for-shot remake of the original, but I can answer her question for her. The reason why Disney is remaking the movie in live-action is obviously money! Disney loves money, and this is a guaranteed money maker.

Beauty and the Beast will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.

OK GO is well known for their crazy music videos, and their latest definitely lives up to that reputation. The entire thing is shot in 4.5 seconds with an automatic camera, and then slowed down x20000 to be synced up with their latest single, "The One Moment." Some parts are sped up a little more to better sync the song, but even so, this is so awesome! I don't know how these guys are gonna top this one!

Gaston and Belle Featured in New Photo From BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Disney has released a new photo from director Bill Condon's live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. It gives us a new look at Emma Watson as Belle and Luke Evans as Gaston as he is trying to woo her with flowers. When talking about the character Gaston, Evans said:

"He gets as dark as any Disney character could possibly get. This is a man who, for the first time in his life, hasn't got what he wanted."

Of course, he'll still offer some comic relief. The movie also stars Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Kevin Kline as Maurice, and Josh Gad as Le Fou.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters on March 17, 2017.

Over the past month, we've seen a few fun promo teasers for The CW's upcoming big DC crossover event series featuring characters from Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. In the four-part series, we will see them band together to take on an invasion of an alien race known as the Dominators.

This first full trailer is for the Supergirl kick-off episode for the event, and it looks pretty freaking awesome. It shows some very cool footage of the Dominators laying waste to a group of U.S. soldiers during World War II. There are also some great moments of the team coming together and fighting alongside each other.

The crossover begins with next week’s episode of Supergirl on November 28th.

There's a new YouTube show called Drewbles that was invited by Magic Wheelchair to attend Rose City Comic Con 2016 in Oregon to surprise two amazing kids with a couple of epic wheelchair costumes.

If you aren't familiar with Magic Wheelchair, they are associated with Stan Winston Studios and their mission is to bring creative communities together to "create unforgettable moments for children around the world by transforming their wheelchairs into 'magic.'"

In this video we see a young girl named Cassy who got an Arrow-themed motorbike type vehicle and a boy named Bryce who got a TIE Fighter! Not long after this event took place, 4-year-old Bryce passed away, but before he died, he told his mom that after he was gone, that his costume should be given to other kids so they could experience what he did.

I hope you enjoy the video!

Rocket Raccoon Has a Faith Crisis in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2; New Details on Yondu's Role

This past weekend, Sean Gunn attended the Heroes and Villians Comic Con in Atlanta, Georgia. During an interview with CB, he talked a little bit about the upcoming film he co-stars in, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. One of the things he touched on is Rocket Raccoon and explained a faith crisis that he's going through in this story, saying:

"Oh yeah! Rocket has a lot of great stuff to do in this movie. There are a few relationships that are central to the theme of the movie and that really go towards keeping a family...and Rocket has the same sort of crisis of faith about whether or not he belongs in this family."

The other thing he talked about was Yondu and what he is going through the film, and it seems like his storyline will play a role in how the movie starts off. He said:

"When the movie starts, it's only a couple of months after the first movie. The Ravagers have not gone hard after Peter Quill after he double crossed them with the Infinity Stone.
"There's a little rumbling amongst the Ravagers, like, 'Where does Yondu's allegiance lay here? Is he going soft on Quill?' So, the Ravagers have to make a decision of what they're gonna do about Yondu and I think Kraglin is a key part of that."

Gunn also discussed the sequel in general, saying that it will be a film for the whole family, and he reiterated that the film's main theme is about the struggles of maintaining a family.

"I do think that it tries to touch some of the same notes that worked in the first movie. It's a tentpole movie, meaning it's literally for everyone. It's not just a kids' movie disguised as an adult movie or vice versa. I really think it's for all ages. I really do think it has a heart but it's a comedy, as well.
"I've heard my brother [director James Gunn] say that the first movie was about creating a family the second movie is more about being a family and the struggle of maintaining that. I think that's spot on and I hope that's what resonates with people."

We should be getting the first full trailer for the film next month. It's said to be attached to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and I imagine it will be released online the week before the release, so stay tuned for that! I can't wait to see more of what James Gunn has cooked up for this flick! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5, 2017.
