The Villain for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Reportedly Confirmed

$

A couple months ago a rumor surfaced that Elizabeth Debicki’s character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be a villain named Ayesha. She has gone by several different names and forms in the comic book universe such as Her, Kismet, and Paragon. She is a cosmic being, who is mostly recognized as a blonde-goddess being, and she was created by the same group of scientists on earth that created Adam Warlock, so she has various superhuman abilities.

Now JoBlo confirms that Ayesha is in fact the villain from a separate source. The report goes on to offer some additional details on the character and what her significance is to the story, saying:

Now, the significance of Ayesha in GUARDIANS 2 and the greater MCU is rather huge, especially when you consider that she was created by The Enclave, a group of scientists dedicated to taking control of the world, starting with the creation of the perfect genetic beings, made to restart humanity. Their first version of this, called HIM, would later evolve into the character known as Adam Warlock, who escaped The Enclave. However, The Enclave made a second being, which became HER aka Ayesha, who also escapes and goes looking for HIM, who she considers to be her perfect mate to start a new perfect race.

There’s no word on how much of that origin will factor into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but she will be the main villain in the story. I’m really curious to see what director James Gunn is planning for her. There’s no doubt she’s going to put up a solid fight with our favorite heroes. If this actually does turn out to be true, it would be the first main female villain in the MCU.

The site also reconfirms that that the Guardians of the Galaxy will “most definitely be teaming up with The Avengers for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War films.” They don’t know how big their role in that story arc will be, though. I imagine since Thanos is the main villain in the story, their role would have to be somewhat big.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theaters on May 5th, 2017.

Yesterday we got our first look at Harry Potter, Ginny, and their son Albus in the upcoming new play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Today we get to meet the Granger-Weasley family, which includes Ron Weasley played by Paul Thornley, Hermione Granger played by Noma Dumezweni, and their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley, who will be played by actress Cherrelle Skeete. When talking about the characters Thornley says:

"It’s 19 years later when the play begins. Ron is married to Hermione Granger and they’re now the Granger-Weasleys. Our magnificent daughter Rose Granger-Weasley is about to start at Hogwarts, which is obviously a big day for everyone."

In an interview with Pottermore, Skeete talked about her character Rose explaining:

"Rose is ambitious, obviously her mum is Hermione so she’s got a lot to live up to. I think they’re quite similar in the fact they put a lot of pressure on themselves. And she just wants to do the right thing."

Rowley added her thoughts on Rose saying:

"Rose is like her mother, but more secure, more grounded. She was born to wizards and knows her place in the world. Cherrelle plays her perfectly: bossy but deeply loveable."

It's explained that Ron is in his forties and that he's not much different from Ron we knew in his teens, "except that his feet hurt a bit more."

As for Hermione, there was some controversy with her casting because she's not the Hermoine Granger that fans have become accustomed to after all these years. The main thing that matters is that she has the soul and personality of the character that we all love and know, and I'm pretty sure that is going to be there.

The Granger-Weasley family also includes a son named Hugo, but I'm not sure why he's not present in the family portrait. Either he's not going to be a part of the story or he doesn't have a main role that would require him to be a part of the photo shoot.

Here's the synopsis for the upcoming two-part play that was previously released:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child makes its premiere at the Palace Theater in London’s West End on July 30th. Previews start later this month.

Hugh Jackman Rocks a Grizzled Beard in WOLVERINE 3 Set Photos

Wolverine 3 is officially in production, and the first photos of Hugh Jackman in the role of Logan have surfaced from the set. This is a very different look for the character. Not only is he wearing a suit, but he's also sporting that full mountain man-style beard.

Wolverine 3 will be Jackman's final film in the role of Wolverine, which is sad, but hopefully he goes out on a strong note. The movie is said to follow the Old Man Logan storyline from Mark Millar's comic arc. Producer Simon Kinberg gave credence that to that when he confirmed the story would take place in the future.

Jackman will be joined by Patrick Stewart who will return as Professor X, Boyd Holbrook (Narcoshas been cast as the main villain, Richard E. Grant as a mad scientist, and British comedian Stephen Merchant has been cast in a mystery role.

There are also rumors that  X-23 could be introduced in this film, and it was recently reported that the main villains going up against Wolverine in the film would be the Reavers. Wolverine 3 makes its way into theaters on March 23rd, 2017.

What do you think of Jackman's new Wolverine look?

Nerf Is Developing a Dart Shooting Drone!

No, it doesn't fly, but it does a whole lot of other cool s***! Geeky Gadgets reports that Hasbro is releasing a Nerf-N-Strike TerraScout RC Drone that will take your kids (or your) Nerf game to that next level. This remote controlled battle drone streams 720p video directly to the remote control! With 18 loaded bullets in tow you'll definitely be able to pester the hell out of someone until they kick it over on its side!

A price tag of $200 seems a bit steep, but you can't beat the recordable video aspect. I could imagine some cool outdoors footage being shot with that thing! Even so, that's crazy expensive for a lot of plastic!

GAME OF THRONES Star Emilia Clarke Would Love to Play 007

There's been a lot of James Bond talk recently with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig leaving the franchise and rumors of Tom Hiddleston and Jamie Bell being in talks to take on the role of 007.

I have no idea if we will ever see a female James Bond in the franchise, but if it ever happens Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke wants in on the action. During an interview with Daily Star, the actress threw her name into the mix saying:

"I would love to play Jane Bond. My ultimate leading man would be Leonardo DiCaprio. No doubt about it.”

She's not the only actress who has expressed interest in taking on the role of 007. The X-Files' Gillian Anderson is game to take on the role as well, as is Quantico star Priyanka Chopra.

This poses an interesting question... do you think we will ever see a female Bond? It's definitely an intriguing thought, and it would definitely set the next phase of the franchise apart from the rest of the films.

It would certainly be a bold move, a decision that would no doubt be met with controversy. I think breaking tradition would be the hardest part for people. Regardless of if we will ever see Bond played by a woman, I think there should be a new badass female secret agent film franchise. So if it never happens with James Bond, someone needs to create an original female super spy character. I think that'd be awesome.

Clarke and Anderson are both fantastic actors who would make great secret agents. What do you all think about one of these woman taking on the iconic role?

Hilarious Honest Trailer for the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THEIR SHELLS Concert Film

Holy crap! I completely forgot that there was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles concert film! It was called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Coming Out of Their Shells Tour, and it debuted in 1990. This is easily the worst thing that ever came out of the TMNT franchise. I would even say that it was worse than the last movie, which I hate with a passion.

The story followed the Ninja Turtles and April O'Neil, as the Ninja Turtles embark on an adventure to stop Shredder and Baxter Stockman from destroying all of the music in the world. It's amazing that this happened and that someone actually thought it was a good idea. Hell, TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman helped develop the damn thing! Why would he do that!?

Well, Screen Junkies has released a hilarious Honest Trailer for the concert film that will show you the absurd glory of this disaster. If you've never heard of this before, prepare to be entertained with utter ridiculousness.

You've seen the TV shows, movies, video games, and breakfast cereals! Now relive the Turtles' long-forgotten...concert film?

This is even worse that the Star Wars Christmas Special.

The Next FRIDAY THE 13th Movie Will Tell a Jason Voorhees Origin Story with His Mom

The long-running Friday the 13th horror franchise will continue with a new movie currently in development at Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company. The last movie in the franchise came out in 2009, and I thought it was a piece of shit. I’m a huge fan of this franchise, it’s just gone completely downhill over the years, and Platinum Dunes taking over didn't do it any favors.

It’s been six months since we last heard any news on this film production, and that was when it was announced that Aaron Guzikowski was hired to write it. Prior to that, there were reports of it being a 3D film, a found footage movie, then the found footage idea was dropped, and there was even talk of a TV series at The CW.

Now, thanks to The Reel Word, we have a new update on the film, and they are saying it will tell an origin story and his murderous mom Pamala is going to be a part of it. The site explains:

Attached to write the screenplay is Aaron Guzikowski, who earned himself wide acclaim for writing the 2013 Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal-starring thriller Prisoners. Guzikowski handed in a draft, Fuller and co. had a look at it, loved what they read and decided to start moving forward.
“Aaron’s story has great characters…You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward.”
So, is this an origin story?
“Origin-ish, but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”

I came across the news on Bloody-Disgusting, and they made a comment about wanting to learn more about Jason’s father. Why the hell not?! That sounds like it would be interesting. Maybe that’s what makes it a little different than what we’ve seen before. Maybe it will even dive deeper into Jason’s family past and what life was like for the Voorhees family before that horrific summer at Camp Crystal in 1980.

This upcoming movie will be the 13th installment of the franchise. Yep, it's finally going hit number 13, and it seems like it would be the perfect number to officially end the franchise. As much as I love the character, I just think it’s time to stop. Fans will always have the original films to entertain them.

The film is currently scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on Friday, January 13th, 2017. What do you think about this direction of telling a new type of origin story for the character?

How Pixar Utilized "An Unprecedented Amount of New Technology" To Create FINDING DORY

$

I wrote a big preview piece about Pixar’s Finding Dory that included interviews with the directors, producers, and more, but I also wanted to highlight a couple of the more technical aspects of the new sequel’s production.

When I visited Monterey, California a few months ago, the other journalists and I spoke with a ton of people who walked us through every aspect of making the film. Steve May, Pixar’s Chief Technology Officer, explained that this film contains “an unprecedented amount of new technology,” and he broke down the production pipeline for us, showcasing how programs like Katana and a new version of RenderMan are used to bring the movie to life. There have been massive improvements in tech since the days of Finding Nemo, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the way that the production created light for the sequel.

May spoke about two kinds of light: direct and indirect. Imagine you’re sitting at home on a sunny day. Direct light, May said, is the light you see when the sun streams through an open window. Indirect light is basically all of the other visible light in the room — it’s not as bright as pure sunlight because it doesn’t come purely from the source, but bounces off the floor and fills the rest of the area with less powerful light. Back in the Nemo days, Pixar could only afford to create direct light and had to have animators fake all of the indirect light by placing less powerful lights just out of frame, but with this new version of RenderMan, the process is automated, leaving the lighters and animators much more time to think about how to make the film better from an artistic standpoint instead of a sheerly practical one.

This may not sound like a big deal, but it makes a huge difference in the final movie. May showed us a screenshot of what Dory, Marlin, and Nemo would look like without indirect light floating under some seaweed near the ocean floor, and it was almost terrifying because of how dark it was and how shadowy they were. But with the indirect light that the new RenderMan provides, everything brightens up considerably because the “sunlight” shining down from the surface doesn’t have to be directly on them — the light can filter through seaweed and kelp, making the whole thing feel much more natural, with particles floating through the water catching rays of light here and there and really giving the scene an organic feel.

Steve May addressing journalists in Monterey Bay, California.

Steve May addressing journalists in Monterey Bay, California.

This new technology also plays an astronomical role in how light reacts to the surface of the water, which, as you might expect for a film like this, is a pretty big deal. Things like splashes, bubbles, and foam look jaw-droppingly good now because all of the reflections and refractions happen automatically instead of being created manually. "On Finding Nemo, making things look like water had to be faked because they couldn’t actually afford to calculate all of those things in the renderer. So there [was] a lot of work by hand," May said. "But on Dory, the new RenderMan can basically calculate all of those things automatically." That’s something viewers would never think twice about, but we saw a bunch of tests detailing tons of iterations to make sure it looks perfect, and extrapolating that concept out to the amount of people that worked on this movie and all of the aspects that had to be considered and perfected was mind-boggling. Also astonishing: May said "there are billions of those individual light rays happening" in each individual frame. "Generally we do about ten levels of reflections and refractions for each one of those rays, so it’s in the order of billions per frame."

Finding Dory concept art depicting light particles in water.

Fish tanks also gave the animators hell thirteen years ago, but that’s no longer the case. "We had three or four people work for six months to figure out how to fake reflections on the tank for Finding Nemo. The result was we had to make three of these special texture maps for each wall of the tank and the water’s surface, and they had to be done by hand, and those had to be created for every single frame of animation. So it was a ton of work. Now on Finding Dory, a lot of that — the reflections of the walls, the water — is largely done automatically."

If you’ve ever rendered anything in editing software, you know that process can be excruciating. You basically make your changes, hit a button, and sit there and wait as the machine does its job to show you what it looks like. If you’re a professional lighter on a film like this, you used to have to move a digital light within the scene and wait for the render to finish before it showed you what the result of that change was. Now, using Katana, lighters can digitally move a light and almost instantly see how the shot is affected. After a light is moved, a preview window shows up with a noisy version of the new image that progressively gets clearer — it’s not picture perfect right away, but you can at least see the basics of what the change does to the shot. This instant feedback saves hours of time and speeds the process along tremendously.

I’d been to one of these press events for an animated movie before (a few years ago for Wreck-It Ralph), but I’d somehow forgotten the sheer amount of work it takes to conjure a movie out of thin air and completely create every single aspect of it — from character motions to scuff marks on the walls of a digital set — in a computer. Pixar is constantly wrestling with (and inventing new) technology in order to harness it to tell stories the best way they can, and something May said during the presentation summed up that relationship for me and seems like a good place to end:

"The majority of the time, the content of the films drives the technology. For [Monsters Inc. character] Sullivan, we needed to figure out how to make fur. For Nemo, water was a brand new thing for us. But we also think that interesting results happen when we create technology, because we’re looking ahead, that isn’t necessarily needed by a movie right now, but if we do that, that often will inspire the art to say, ‘Hey, that’s kind of a cool technology. I wonder how we could use that?’"

Finding Dory hits theaters on June 17, 2016.

The First Trailer For MONSTER TRUCKS Has Arrived

Paramount Pictures has just unveiled the first trailer and photo for Monster Trucks, a family-friendly adventure about a kid (Lucas Till) who discovers that a weird, alien-like, subterranean creature can somehow power his cobbled-together truck. It feels a lot like someone watched the scenes of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox interacting with Bumblebee in the first live-action Transformers movie and just said, "Hey, let's do that again." Paramount sure does love movies about kids and their cars.

This does not look like my particular cup of tea, but maybe some of you will react differently. Chris Wedge directs, and the film stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon.

Monster Trucks hits theaters on January 13, 2017.

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend. Melding cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Monster Trucks is an action filled adventure for the whole family that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately touch your heart.

Disney and Lucasfilm Unveil STAR WARS Replica Prop Shop

Here's something guaranteed to shake up the replica industry! We just got a press release that says Disney and Lucasfilm have partnered with Pinewood Studios UK, who made the props for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, to open a movie-accurate prop shop.

In this shop, you can purchase many replicas from TFA including Chewbacca's Bowcaster, Rey's staff, and even the melted helmet of Darth Vader!

But this stuff isn't cheap. The Vader helmet pictured above (which is a limited edition of 500) rings in at $3,500 American! That's a steep price, but considering it's coming straight from the studio that created it, you can guarantee the quality will be that of the film.

Other items, like Rey and Kylo Ren's lightsaber hilts, seem affordable (both $1,250 each) when you look at other lightsaber dealers in the market, so if anything, this could lead to some more competitive pricing overall!

One downside I'm seeing is they are VERY big on letting you know this is not meant for cosplay or as a toy. This leads me to wonder if the durability of these things aren't that good, or if they're more worried about idiots breaking their stuff at a con and demanding their thousands back. I don't know if I would bring one of these out in public if I got one!

All in all, good deal or no? Experts of the web, speak out! Read the full press release below:

[San Francisco – June 1, 2016] – Disney and Lucasfilm today launched Star Wars Collectibles: Ultimate Studio Edition bringing an unprecedented level of authenticity to prop replica products for fans. Made to order by propmakers at Propshop in Pinewood Studios using digital data collected during filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the production process marries cutting edge 3D printing technology with master craftsmanship to produce replicas virtually identical to those seen on screen. Available initially in the U.S., starwarsultimatestudioedition.com is the exclusive location to purchase these products.

“We’re delighted to be able to produce such a groundbreaking line of merchandise,” said James Enright, Assets Director and CEO of Propshop. “Designed, made and finished by the hands of specialist motion picture prop makers and artists, we’ve worked extremely hard to create something that we know would make fans and filmmakers proud.”

The initial offering from the Star Wars Collectibles line features eight prop replicas from Star Wars: The Force Awakens including Darth Vader’s melted helmet, Rey’s lightsaber hilt, FN-2187 Stormtrooper helmet and more. Each replica item is a limited production piece due to the high level of craftsmanship required to create them.

These made-to-order replicas will come with custom display pedestals, packed in branded wooden crates that are inspired by the real crates used to ship the film props. Each one is custom built to accommodate the shape of the replica inside.

“We are continually looking for new ways to extend the storytelling from movies in innovative ways,” said Josh Silverman, executive vice president of global licensing at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “We’ve worked hand in hand with the film makers and talented team at Propshop to create a unique product experience for fans and we’re excited to see their reactions to these incredible prop replicas.”

Visit Disney’s YouTube channel to view the latest installment of their “Boxed” series to get a behind-the-scenes look at Darth Vader’s melted helmet being created; then tune in each month to see reveals of new items added to the Star Wars Collectibles: Ultimate Studio Edition line. Showtime Announces New Limited Series PURITY, Starring Daniel Craig

$

0

A few months ago, we learned that Daniel Craig had joined a new 20-episode limited series called Purity, but we didn't have many more details than that. Now we just received a press release from Showtime officially announcing the show and providing some more information about it.

The show is based on the novel of the same name by author Jonathan Franzen (who will serve as a writer on the series), and it will be written and executive produced by Todd Field (Little Children, In The Bedroom), who will direct all 20 episodes to air over the course of two years. Here's the synopsis:

PURITY is a morally complex story of youthful idealism, extreme loyalty and cold-blooded murder. Jonathan Franzen’s intricately plotted novel is populated by characters both hungry for the truth and desperate to hide it. From STASI offspring to Oakland anarchists, Franzen tracks his characters' landscapes as varied as East Berlin, the Bolivian jungle, East Harlem walk-ups, and the California Redwoods. PURITY is at once supremely ambitious in scope and intensely intimate in its treatment of character – a decades-spanning tragicomedy that builds to a contemporary climax.
“Jonathan Franzen's Purity is an epic American novel that pulses with the energy of a psychological thriller. I whipped through it in a week,” said [Showtime President David] Nevins. “His gripping and timely story has attracted a powerhouse team – Todd Field, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, David Hare, along with Franzen himself, and the brilliant Daniel Craig who is perfectly cast as the charismatic, mysterious ‘Andreas Wolf.’ Put it all together and PURITY promises to be the kind of taut, long-form, serialized storytelling that is the best of premium television, and is precisely what we at SHOWTIME aspire to deliver.”

Since production starts next year, this sounds like more mounting evidence that Craig may not return as James Bond in another movie, since the producers are openly meeting with other candidates. There's still a chance that it could all be a bluff on the part of the producers in order to make a better deal with Craig for one more outing, but we'll see how it all shakes out soon.

Megatron Will Return (Again) in TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay marked the beginning of the film's production with a few little Instagram videos over the past few days, the latest of which promised the return of the franchise's main villain, Megatron:

It's starting. This week production. Megatron is back. #transformers #decepticons#

A video posted by Michael Bay (@michaelbay) on

That's right, despite being dumped at the bottom of the ocean and destroyed more times than I feel like going back and counting, Megatron is coming back to terrorize Earth once again. Well, I guess technically he could terrorize Optimus Prime out in space as Optimus searches for his creators, or whatever the hell he flew away to do at the end of Age of Extinction. Either way, Megatron's back, and with a brand new look. So...you have that to look forward to.

Transformers: The Last Knight, which stars Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel (and Stanley Tucci, if they're smart) hits theaters on June 23, 2017.

Samy Kamkar Talks About How He Accidentally Crashed Myspace in 2005

Here's a great story about hacking and why you should never do it, even if you aren't trying to harm anyone! In 2005, Samy Kamkar took down Myspace using a piece of code to add more friends to his profile. This code created a worm that ended up taking down the site for a time and causing lots of problems for the staff. In this Motherboard video, Samy recounts the experience and how it changed his life.

To pick up where the video leaves off, Kamkar returned to computers and continues to have a lucrative career. He's known for exploiting flaws in major corporation's codes, and also created the "Evercookie," which is a undeleteable cookie that tracks Tor users.

Overall, not a terrible ending, although not one I would risk for three years worth of Saturdays picking up garbage on a highway and a $20,000 fine.

Bruce Willis' Bank Gets Robbed in MARAUDERS Trailer

Here's the first trailer for Marauders, a bank heist thriller starring Bruce Willis, Christopher Meloni, Dave Bautista, and Adrien Grenier. This trailer makes the film look about as generic as action movies get, hinting heavily that Willis' character is somehow involved in the robbing of his own bank. But the synopsis (below) claims there's more going on under the surface, so perhaps this is just a case of a poor trailer for what is ultimately a decent movie. We'll find out when the film hits theaters and On Demand platforms on July 1, 2016.

When a bank is hit by a brutal heist, all evidence points to the owner (Bruce Willis) and his high-powered clients. But as a group of FBI agents (Christopher Meloni, Dave Bautista and Adrian Grenier) dig deeper into the case - and the deadly heists continue - it becomes clear that a larger conspiracy is at play.

The Long-Gestating LOGAN'S RUN Adaptation Gets Another Writer

Warner Bros. has been trying to remake Logan's Run since the mid-1990s, but for whatever reason, they just haven't been able to crack it. The remake has slipped through the hands of Bryan Singer, Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, Joseph Kosinski, Carl Erik Rinsch, and Bioshock's Ken Levine, but now it seems to have new life once again.

Deadline reports that Ryan Condal, the co-creator/showrunner of the USA series Colony and co-writer of the upcoming Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie Rampage, has been hired to write the screenplay, which will be based on a treatment written by Simon Kinberg. Kinberg will produce alongside Joel Silver (who's been attached to this project since the beginning) and Greg Berlanti, who I thought might be a little busy handling his upcoming four-show crossover on The CW.

This movie is being called a "fresh take" on the original novel instead of a remake of the classic 1976 film, but there's no word on whether or not the idea of a gender-swapped lead character will be utilized in this version now that there's a new writer tackling the script. This is one of those projects that's been in development for so long, I think I'm pretty much going to tune out until they start casting it.

Mainstream media has a knack for finding the least desirable people to represent a relevant news story. For tornados, they roll out the toothless hillbillies; for apartment shootings, they find the ranting lunatic with one eye who likes to sing; and at every geeky event, they find guys like these.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with showing your fandom towards anything! Let me make that clear! I'm the prime example of a dude who gets super hype about things average people could give less than a s*** about. I'm just saying an insane amount of people saw The Matrix movies in theaters when they came out, and the news found these guys to feature in the story about the film. I guess if they're not ashamed, we shouldn't be either.

New SUICIDE SQUAD Posters and Soccer Team Intro Video

Suicide Squad is a very important movie for Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe, and the studio is working hard to make sure it's going to please fans who may not have been thrilled with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year. The summer movie season is beginning to ramp up, and I'm guessing we're going to be inundated with Suicide Squad-related content over the next couple of months as the studio preps for what they hope is going to be a big successful theatrical campaign. GB Posters has some brand new posters for the movie that feature a group shot with the clever tagline "In Squad We Trust," as well as some solo posters of Jared Leto's Joker, Will Smith's Deadshot, and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, and a different, cooler group shot of the gang reflected in shattered glass with Joker in the center.

Also, there's a new video in which the squad members are introduced as players on a soccer team because England recently put together its own squad for Euro 2016. I'm not a big soccer but this seems like pandering to the UK crowd, doesn't it? Check out all of this below. Suicide Squad arrives on August 5, 2016.
