Beat Down Boogie has released a cosplay video that features nothing but Star Wars cosplay that they’ve shot at various conventions over the past five years. They call the video Cosplay Remix: STAR WARS, and it’s loaded with a lot of fun and really cool-looking cosplay. The music used in the video is called "R2D2" and it was created by DJ Demonixx.
According to TV Line, frequent David Lynch collaborator Laura Dern has been cast in his Twin Peaks revival series. If the news is true, she will join Twin Peaks vets Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, and Sherilyn Fenn, as well as newcomers Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty, and Amanda Seyfried.
There are no official details on who Dern would be playing, but according to the report, there’s theory that the actress will be playing Agent Cooper’s never-before-seen secretary Diane.
This would be the second time that Dern and MacLachlan would play a pair of investigators. They starred together in Lynch’s 1986 mystery noir film Blue Velvet.
There is really no information regarding what this next chapter in the Twin Peaks story will entail, but it’s currently shooting in Washington state. There will most likely be about a dozen episodes, and it’s set to premiere sometime in the Summer of 2017.

Marvel has released two new clips from Agent Carter Season 2. The first features Peggy arriving in Los Angles and being picked up by Jarvis at the airport, and that's where she meets the newest member of the Stark family, Bernard. The second offers us a scene of the title character sneaking into a hospital to do some detective work.
The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 with a special two-hour episode on ABC.

Those of you who were hoping for a second season of Jessica Jones will be happy to hear that Netflix has officially renewed it! The news comes from Deadline, who reports that it has been given 13 new episodes.
Melissa Rosenberg will return as the executive producer and showrunner of the series, which stars Krysten Ritter as the title character. I absolutely loved the first season, and Ritter was awesome in the role of Jones.
Jessica Jones took the MCU to its darkest places yet, and I imagine season two will continue to push the boundaries. The series follows Jones as she is rebuilding her life after a tragic event ended her short-lived time as a super hero. In the aftermath of that, she starts a career as a private investigator in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen.
We're not sure what season two will entail or when it will premiere, but In a previous interview with the outlet, Rosenthal talked about what she would like to do if the show got a second season order.
“I think one of the things I would be able to do now, that’s harder to do in the first season, is to really expand on the ensemble. Poor Krysten Ritter, she was in every scene that we shot, we beat the crap out of her. She was a shell of a human being by the time we ended, and that is not sustainable. But when you have a show that’s called Jessica Jones, if Jessica Jones isn’t in a scene the rest of it become almost irrelevant until you earn other character storylines. You’ve got to flesh out those characters enough that you can travel.
"So, I would hope to further expand on the ensemble, and on Jessica’s world. She ends in a very different place than she started off. She’s still going to be Jessica Jones — that is not going to change. She will continue to drink and make mistakes, and accidentally drop people onto train tracks, but something has changed for her by the end of this season, and I’d just love to explore that in the second season.”
I really loved the characters that were introduced to in the first season and I'm curious to what new interesting characters that they introduce in the second season and where the story of Jones goes from where we last saw her.
For those of you who are curious to know more about what Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond movie will entail, we've got some new information here worth checking out. Entertainment Tonight released a series of videos from the U.S.S. Enterprise in which they interviewed members of the cast about certain aspects of the film and their characters.
Karl Urban (Bones) mentions that the Enterprise crew is already two years into their mission when the movie starts off. He says that the Enterprise will reflect the years' worth of wear and tear. He also talks about the new retro-style uniforms that they have this time around.
John Cho, who plays Sulu in the film, later explains that the movie picks up at a time when entire crew is starting to get homesick and that they've been around each other too long. It's also revealed that Sulu has a baby, and that there's more to her story that will be revealed later. I wonder if it will be Demora, who is the daughter of Sulu in Star Trek Generations.
Star Trek Beyond will be released in theaters on July 22nd, 2016, and after that first trailer was released, it seems like there's a good mix of people who are excited for the movie, while others are not.
Cosplayer Marie Chante of Maweezy Cosplay looks adorably fierce as Bowser in this Super Mario Bros.-inspired cosplay. I like how colorful the outfit is and she pulls it off wonderfully. Her boyfriend also cosplays as Mario, which, as you will see, makes for some fun photos at the cons.

In a world full of PG-13 superhero movies, Deadpool is about to take the comic book film genre to a whole new level of insanity! Marvel wouldn't even dare do anything like this because, well... Disney owns them now. Hopefully, director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds actually pulled it off. According to Reynolds, it will make any fanboy proud. When talking to Total Film (via Games Radar), the actor said:
"There’s something very proprietal and very personal about it for me. I know what I can put on screen, and I know what I’ve put on screen is something that would make any fanboy proud.
“All anyone cares about in this process is making Deadpool work as much for the fanboys as it does for the uninitiated. I can’t wait to unleash it. We’re so, so psyched. You’re definitely going to be happy, that much I can promise...”
The movie also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand. Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.
Warner Bros. released an awesome series of unique character posters that were created for David Ayer's Suicide Squad. I really like that they went with an unconventional style for their character posters. Each one represents one of the villainous characters that make up the Suicide Squad team.

The latest red-band trailer for Deadpool has been re-cut using animated footage of the Merc With a Mouth from the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, so it’s all the kiddie animation mixed with the hardcore vulgarity of the upcoming film. It’s a fun trailer mashup that I think you’ll enjoy.
The X-Files is about to make a big comeback on TV with a new revival miniseries that will consist of six episodes. If that does well, there’s a good chance that the franchise will continue. Not only as a series but maybe even a third film as well. In fact, in a recent interview with THR, creator Chris Carter reveals that he has already written a script for a third movie!
“I actually wrote a third movie, just because I was interested in the idea of where that might go. I let my wife read the third movie, and she said, ‘I think not for television’."
The script he wrote has nothing to do with the six episodes that will air later this movie, but it would give Mulder and Scully a new journey to embark on. Carter went on to say that even though the script is on the table and ready to go, he would still like to continue the series. He explains:
"I'm waiting for Fox to come back and ask for more. Then we'll talk about it."
It could very well happen. One of the biggest obstacles that they’d have to figure out is being about to get David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back to reprise their roles because they are already so busy doing other stuff. Fox CEO Gary Newman said:
"The biggest impediment to going forward with The X-Files was the schedules of David and Gillian. Even the other night at the premiere, we were all laughing and joking about doing this again."
If they really want to make it happen again and keep the series going… they will find a way. Hopefully they do!
I recently watched the first two Ip Man films with a friend of mine who had never seen them before. Needless to say, he was impressed by their badassery. Hell, after watching them again I was even more pumped for Ip Man 3! We now have a new action-packed trailer for IP Man 3 filled with new footage that is sure to increase your excitement level for this movie.
Some of you might think it’s kind of ridiculous seeing Mike Tyson in this movie, but the fact that his role is dead seriouss, and that he faces off against freakin’ Donnie Yen is pretty damn radical. This trailer completely fired me up for this movie!
Donnie Yen (upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2) ignites the screen in a return to the role that made him an icon - as Ip Man, the real-life Wing Chun grandmaster who mentored Bruce Lee. In this explosive third installment of the blockbuster martial arts series, when a band of brutal gangsters led by a crooked property developer (Mike Tyson) make a play to take over the city, Master Ip is forced to take a stand. Fists will fly as some of the most incredible fight scenes ever filmed play out on the big screen in this soon-to-be genre classic.
Ip Man 3 will be released in the U.S. on January 22nd, 2016.
Deadline broke some huge news Friday night that animator Matt Groening is in the midst of talks with Netflix. If their report is to be believed, The creator of The Simpsons and Futurama is being approached to bring an original animated series to the platform. Needless to say, this news is huge.
If it happens to be true, this would be a huge win for Netflix in its growing war with network television. I can't imagine Fox would allow this to happen, but then again, I'm sure Groening is so big by now they can't tell him much of anything. Obviously, it's doable with The Simpsons still in production as Futurama ran alongside that for awhile, but what could he do now? Any time Groening has made something it's had a huge impact on pop culture, so I'm eager for him to confirm this news.
HBO's sci-fi Westworld has gone on a brief hiatus, and no one has given a date as to when production will resume. It's crushing news for fans who were hyped by the trailer, and for the network, which looked as though they would have a stacked original lineup for 2016. HBO released a statement from writers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy:
“As we head into the final phase of production on Westworld, we’ve made the decision to take a brief hiatus in order to get ahead of the writing,"
What does that mean exactly? Who knows. It could be good. Maybe they were intended to be a one and done series, but HBO execs gave them the go ahead to change the script to allow for future seasons. It could mean the exact opposite and execs are making them rewrite the story because they hate it. Hell, it could even have something to do with budget...it can't be cheap to have Anthony Hopkins!
HBO has not made clear whether the series based on the '70s film of the same name will premiere this year or not.
I really want to keep my expectations in check for this Thursday's premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but these damn trailers are setting the bar really high! It looks like Arrow and The Flash on steroids. More heroes, more action, and Wentworth Miller in a leading role again? Looks like we are in for something truly great with this series. Hopefully I'm not disappointed.
After watching this I'm thoroughly convinced that just about any movie with a trailer similar to Star Wars: The Force Awakens will look like a must-watch after viewing. I mean, I got chills watching a trailer for Masters of The Universe, but I also laughed quite a bit as well. First I thought about how silly this movie was, then I got that stupid video of He-Man singing that 4 Non Blondes song and watched it a couple times...I'm not proud.
Anyway, all credit for this editing job goes to Mike Furth! Great job, man.
Jessica Jones had a winning formula in its first season, and it looks like very little is going to change in that regard. Variety reports showrunner Melissa Rosenberg didn't reveal concrete plans for season two, but assured those at their TCA panel the show would remain deeply rooted within the Alias comic series.
I will always use as much as I possibly can from the comic book...the MCU is very different in terms of its mythology. In the books, everyone knows superheroes are walking around, there’s a lot of things building toward Secret Wars. We’re probably not going to be able to do a totally parallel storylines. But I take every little piece I can because it’s so good.”
While there was little said about where, when, and what will happen in season two, Rosenberg did give us a little insight into how Jessica is feeling post season one.
“For Jessica, that final moment, that victorious triumphant moment, I found that very conflicting in terms of her headspace. He’s the reason why she got up every day. He’s the reason why she went out in the world… it really gave her a purpose, and the past trauma doesn’t go away with his death.”
I'm hoping for more cameos for season two, and perhaps a Daredevil crossover episode? It would be tough to pull off with the way streaming works, but I think it would be cool to see something happening in the Daredevil story line that teases an event in Jones' story, and then waiting the additional months to see that unfold.
