It was recently reported that Robert Rodriquez is moving forward with his sequel to Machete, Machete Kills, which is the second movie in a planned trilogy. Danny Trejo will return to reprise his role as the deadly blade-wielding Mexican ex-Federale. The promo poster art you see above was created to promote the film at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin this week.
The new film will follow the story of Machete as he teams up with the U.S. Government to take on a Mexican drug cartel and a James Bond-style villain who seeks world domination with a satellite weapon. As for the third film, it will be titled Machete Kills Again... In Space.
I'm excited to see this Grindhouse style film series continue. We can always use a little more over the top ridiculously bloody fake violence in our lives.
