Renée Zellweger's career seems to have taken a turn for the worst. The last mainstream movie she made was a terrible horror film called Case 39. She hasn't really done anything memorabel since Ron Hoawrd's 2005 film Cinderella Man.
She's now atached to direct and star alongside Johnny Knoxville in a comedy called 4 1/2 Minutes. This will be the first movie directed by Zellweger, and the story is set in "New York City’s stand-up milieu with Knoxville playing a commitment-phobic comic whose life is falling apart when he takes a job looking after single-mom Zellweger’s genius son." The story is based on the comedy of real-life stand-up Dov Davidoff, and the script for the film was written by Warrior‘s Anthony Tambakis.
Not sure if this will be a comeback for Zellwger, but I think it's a great role for Knoxville to take on! What are your thoughts on this project, and what do you think of Zellweger as an actress? Remember Empire Records? I never thought back then that her career would take a dive the way it did.
