A BREAKING BAD Movie Could Happen!

The upcoming fifth and final season of Breaking Bad will consist of 16 episodes. After that the series will end, but it doesn't mean the story will be over. The show's star, Bryan Cranston, feels that the story could continue in the form of a major motion picture. This is kind of funny because at one point the show's creator Vince Gilligan didn't think he could take the story through 16 more episodes, now Cranston says laughing,

Vince feels that now we have too much story. We could actually go beyond those 16 episodes.

The actor then goes on to talk about the possibly of a movie, and the future of his character,

It’s not far-fetched, I wouldn’t mind visiting that possibility. And this is coming from a guy who doesn’t know anything of how the show’s going to end. If it doesn’t end up in a total apocalypse, who knows? Maybe we could revisit Walter White a year down the road and see where his life has gone. If he’s still alive, that is.

I'll admit, it's hard to see Walt coming out of this alive, but if he does, it would be great to see his story continue. Gilligan goes on to discuss the character of Walt in the upcoming season saying,

We can look forward to Walt’s ego growing by leaps and bounds for having killed Gus Fring. To this point, Walt’s been able to lie to himself and reason that he’s done all these terrible things for his family. But that’s a lie that’s harder and harder to maintain as this upcoming season progresses and the money piles up and he’s faced more and more with the badness that he’s done.

He’s going to be a harder guy to root for, I promise you that. The experiment of the show has been to take a good guy and have him transform himself into a bad guy. And we’re committed to seeing that through to the very end.

Wow! That sounds incredibly intense. At this point I can see how it's going to be harder to root for Walt, especially after what he's done to Jesse to get what he wants. At this point I'm rooting more for Jesse to survive Walt's decent into terrifying madness.

I guess we'll have to wait until the series ends before we see if we'll get a movie or not. Would you like to see a movie get made?
