An adaptation of the Robert Jordan fantasy novel series Wheel of Time is finally moving forward with Sony Pictures Television. This project has been in and out of development since the year 2000, but now it's going to happen as a TV series.
There's an abundance of content to adapt as there are 14 novels in the series that began in 1990 with "The Eye of the World" and ended in 2007 with "A Memory of Light". The story follows the quest to find the Dragon Reborn, who it is said will help unite forces to combat The Dark One. Here's a brief description:
Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is a story that takes place both in our past and our future. In his fantasy world, the Dark One, the embodiment of pure evil, is breaking free from his prison. The overall plot is about a man who learns that he is the reincarnation of the world's messiah and is once again destined to save the world from the Dark One -- but possibly destroy it in the process. This saga is not only his story, but the story of an entire world's struggle to deal with war and change, destruction and hope.
I haven't read all the books yet, but there's no doubt that this could be an incredible and epic series if it's done right with the right talent. According to Variety, Rafe Judkins is set to write and executive produce the series. If you're not familiar with his work, he's worked on shows such as Agents of SHIELD, the Netflix series Hemlock Grove, and the NBC series Chuck. That's not a bad resume.
The series has previously been described as being a "cutting edge" TV series by consulting producer Harriet McDougal, who is the widow of author Robert Jordan. There aren't really any other details on the series, but if you're a fan of the book series it's definitely time to get excited! I'm looking forward to seeing how this series comes together.

When was the last time you sat down and watched The Silence of the Lambs from start to finish? For me, it's probably been about 15 years. Sure, I've seen a handful of its famous scenes pop up in video essays or highlight reels, but the actual nuts and bolts of the film have been lost in my memory.
I know for damn sure it wasn't a romantic comedy, which is how Cinefix recut the movie in this fun fake trailer. Check it out, and then give the real movie another look:

18 Awesome Images Revealed For Badai Namco's Vampire Game CODE VEIN
Before the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie came out, there were some people who were worried about casting a pro wrestler like Dave Bautista, and his ability to take on the role of Drax. Sure he's violent and strong, but aren't Marvel characters more than that? But Drax has been both a hilarious and wonderful addition to the MCU, and in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a lot of his heartbreak is revealed through the new character Mantis, who is able to read emotions.
I think this is brilliant for multiple reasons. I love Dave Bautista as Drax, but I don't think he is one who is going to be winning an Oscar for his portrayal of sadness anytime soon. He has his strengths and showing emotional pain doesn't seem like it's one of them. But Drax really has some baggage that needs to be shown. With Mantis, who is the ultimate empath, she is able to connect with Drax and show the emotions that he can't. In a recent interview with CB, Bautista had this to say:
"It's such an ingenious way to tell a story because Drax is so heartbroken over the loss of his family, which we touched upon in the first one, but it's so amazing that they can tell this story without Drax having to break down but through Mantis' character because her character is so beautiful and so emotional. So, I think it was such an ingenious way to tell the story but not only to tell that story of Drax's heartbreak but also to build that connection between Drax and Mantis. I mean it's a really brilliant way to tell the story."
Bautista also has plenty of compliments to give to everyone he's worked with in the film, including Pom Klementieff who plays the part of Mantis saying:
"I have to give credit to that scene to Pom who is just an amazing actress. Her range of emotions is absolutely amazing. She has a strength and that's delivering a funny line in a deadpan manner but she really has that strength, as well. Across the board, she's just really talented."
He goes on to share an experience while working with James Gunn, saying:
"Drax, I have to give credit to James Gunn for. He's so brilliant. It was a scene we were doing in the first film where I was laughing during the scene and he wanted me to laugh harder! The louder I got, the harder he laughed. I think just to amuse himself, he wanted me to laugh bigger and louder and the bigger I did I could just hear him laughing hysterically! I have a big voice. I'm an introverted person so I just don't really speak loudly. I do have a big voice, I'm capable, so when I decide I need to bring the sound, I just can!"
I'm excited about this movie and to see all the characters more fleshed out in unique and different ways. I'm still so amazed how well the characters were established in the first film without necessarily having to create separate films for each of them. (cough cough avengers cough cough). James Gunn certainly knows what he's doing, and more than anything, he's just telling a story that he thinks is cool and interesting. I couldn't be happier with what I've seen of the sequel so far.

I love comics. It's my thing. I read them, study them, look deep into them. I think that everyone that writes has something they really get, whether it's games, movies, tv or just news. I feel something that I have an intensive history with is comics. Which makes me so excited about this new History Channel two-part series special all about the hidden origin stories of comics biggest heroes.
The cable network has planned to air the two-part special called Superheroes Decoded on April 30th and May 1st.
The first part will look at the creation of iconic heroes such as Batman, Superman, Captain America, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman and how they were influenced by history and how they changed through the years as we went through different wars and events.
The second part will look at the idea of superheroes as outsiders or rebels and examine characters such as the X-Men, Luke Cage, Iron Man, Black Panther, and the Hulk and how they were inspired by real world issues and social injustices.
If that doesn't excite you, maybe some of the names they've got will. Some of the people who have been interviewed include Stan Lee, Anthony and Joe Russo, Anthony Mackie, George R. R. Martin, Jon Favreau and Brad Meltzer.
It's a great line-up, and I'm especially excited to see my favorite Marvel fanboy George R. R. on the list of people who will be interviewed. It's so amazing how much comics have influenced our society. If you're a fan of comics be sure to check this out!
The History of Comics Will Be Explored in History Channel's SUPERHEROES DECODED Special
We've known for awhile that the Guardians Of The Galaxy and Avengers will cross paths in Avengers: Infinity War, but now (thanks to Fandango) we have some solid details that should really get folks excited! First let's hear from big Dave Bautista who says it's an all or nothing deal with the Guardians and their scenes:
"When we come onto set as the Guardians, we are the Guardians. Anybody stepping onto set with us has to deal with all of us. There are usually one or two Avengers. We are the Guardians, we come as that and carry a scene like that and we do business as usual, which is a lot of chemistry, a lot of interaction amongst ourselves. And the Russos were very encouraging of that. I think we’ve established ourselves and we deserve to be right up there with the Avengers. I think we’re just as strong, if not stronger, as a unit, ‘cause we’re a family."
That's awesome to hear, as I think the Guardians don't work when you split them up. Chris Pratt says there was no intimidation from the team arriving on set to stand side by side with The Avengers. Pratt then retracts his statement and says he did have one person he was intimidated by:
"[Okay] I was a little secretly intimidated. Chris Hemsworth, he’s so tall and handsome -- I had to go home and really look myself in the mirror and say, you know, there’s a possibility that you just might be one of those guys who mostly loves your wife but also kind of loves Chris Hemsworth a little bit too."
Fair enough. Unfortunately, we still have over a year until Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters but only a week until Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2! Get hyped!

Thanks to Empire Magazine, we have three new photos to share with you from Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. One of the most interesting images shows off a crazy scary-looking new alien creature called a Neomorph, which you can see above eating some poor soul that met their demise in a nightmarish way.
According to Screenwriter John Logan, the Neomorph was inspired by Ridley Scott's love of nature documentaries on living nightmares, like goblin sharks. He explains:
“Some of those nature videos are so stomach-churning that they don’t pay me enough to watch them. But Ridley will see something to do with insects swarming, for example, which eventually finds its way into a movie. Usually there’s some sort of grotesqueness we find interesting.”
You'll find a couple other images below. The first of which features Michael Fassbender, taking on dual roles as two different androids. The final image may be considered a spoiler so proceed with caution.
I know this might not seem like a spoiler, but I know what goes down in this image. You can listen to Drew and I talk about this scene in the video below the photo, which features a mysterious figure on what might be the Engineer’s planet as he unleashes a bunch of pods.

If you've been following the analysis of Star Wars: The Last Jedi's trailer, you know that there are some inconsistencies between Kylo Ren's scar in The Force Awakens versus the brief look we get of him in Episode VIII...here's a great picture from Game Rant that shows you the difference between the two...
Now that the cat is out of the bag, director Rian Johnson stepped up with an explanation as to why Ren's scar has changed:
@origonalname113 @mutlubulutlar @StarWarsNewsNet @TheLastKylo It was my decision to slightly adjust it, and that was my justification. It honestly looked goofy running straight up the bridge of his nose— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) April 19, 2017
Fair enough. While I'm sure some people will bitch about consistency, let's not forget that Vader had a different variation of his suit in every movie that he's been in. Granted, that's less radical than changing a cosmetic scar, but it is an aesthetic change nonetheless. I like the new scar better than the old one, what about you?

In another interview with Joss Whedon, the director talks about what makes Batgirl so interesting to him and the idea behind the story that he's obsessed with telling in his new film. He basically is looking to explore the reasons behind why a young girl like Barbara Gordon would turn to a hardcore life of fighting crime as Batgirl. He wants to show what her damage is. He explains to THR:
"She came up, and I started getting obsessed with how a young woman could get hardcore enough to need to put on the cowl. Like, What's her damage?"
He goes on to say:
"She didn't have her parents killed in an alley. Who is this person, who decides — rather than being forced to by their childhood trauma — decides to pick up this life How intense and driven that person is ... I just couldn't stop thinking about it."
I love the angle that he's looking to take with the character by exploring the motivation of her need to be Batgirl. It'll be interesting to see what Whedon actually does with the story of this character. As a long time fan of Whedon, I can't help but believe that he's going to give us something incredible.

The true crime genre is very popular these days. Especially with the success of programs like HBO’s doc series The Jinx, Netflix’s Making a Murderer, and O.J.: Made in America, which one an Academy Award this year.
Netflix is hoping that they have another addictive doc series on their hands with The Keepers. We have the first trailer for you to watch today and it looks like a riveting story. The seven-part doc series centers on the unsolved mystery of the murder of a Nun and a conspiracy to cover up the truth behind it for the past fifty years by the corruption within the Catholic church.
I've been fascinated with true crime stories for years, so I like that these kinds of doc series are being made. This stuff just interests me.
Directed by Ryan White (Serena, The Case Against 8), The Keepers will have everyone asking the question “who killed Sister Cathy?” The series was produced by Film 45 and Tripod Media for Netflix. Along with White and Jessica Hargrave, Josh Braun, Ben Cotner, Jason Spingarn-Koff and Lisa Nishimura are executive producers.
Through interviews with dozens of friends, relatives, journalists, government officials and Baltimore citizens determined to uncover the truth, White pieces together a story that goes beyond the death of a beloved Catholic schoolteacher to encompass clergy abuse, repressed memories and government and religious institutions that he says “at best, dropped the ball over the last 45 years – and, at worst, covered it up.”
The Keepers will arrive on Netflix on May 19, 2017.

Early on in the process of developing the story for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn was planning on using Adam Warlock as a major character but he ended up changing it up and taking him out, opting to include him in a future Marvel film like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 instead. So, for all of you who have been waiting for Adam Warlock to enter the MCU, he's coming!
The news comes from director James Gunn himself during an interview with /Film. He explains that Adam Warlock is one of his favorite characters and it sounds like he's just been waiting for the right story to play with him in. Gunn explains:
“I love Adam Warlock. He’s one of my favorite characters. In all truth, I wrote an early treatment where I had Adam Warlock as a part…this is your big scoop, because I don’t think I’ve told anybody this… It was Adam Warlock. He was a big part of the screenplay and I realized it was one character too many. And I adored the character. I adored what we had done with him. I think we did something really creative and unique with Adam Warlock. But it was one character too many and I didn’t want to lose Mantis and Mantis was more organically part of the movie anyway. So I decided to save him for later.”
In a separate interview with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, he told the site that Gunn is "developing Adam Warlock to be included in a future Marvel cosmic universe film." When this was brought up with Gunn, the director made sure that it was known that Warlock will not be in Infinity War saying:
“He’s not in Infinity War. But he will be a part of the future Marvel cosmic universe and a pretty important part of that.”
He doesn't come right out and say that Adam Warlock will be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it's a very safe assumption that that's where the character is going to be introduced, especially since Gunn recently confirmed that he will be directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. What other films could Gunn be developing the character for?
Feige then went on to tell the site, “If he appears anywhere in the future, it’ll be in Guardians.” So, there ya have it.
Adam Warlock Originally Had a Major Role in GUARDIANS VOL. 2 But He'll Be in GUARDIANS VOL. 3!

Retro Promo Spot For "Awesome Mix Vol. 2" From GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
I've really enjoyed the trailers I've seen of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 so far, but trailers can be misleading. Just because something looks awesome with great music playing behind it, we all know that it doesn't mean it will be the best thing in the world. A lot of movies have great trailers that end up being utter crap films.
Today we have two new clips for Guardians Vol. 2 along with two new TV spots to share with you. They show some new footage from the film, and I quite enjoyed them. I won't give too much away because watching them really does more justice than me spouting off what they are about. Check out the two clips below and then I offer a brief commentary after.
Holy crap. Wasn't that funny? I lol'ed like literally. I'm beside myself with joy. Everything just fits together so well. First off, we get another longer look at the Rocket and baby Groot scene which is still funny every time I watch it, and then there's the other scene, which just really solidifies how great a chemistry this cast has together. It makes me wonder what is so special about those batteries Rocket stole that makes the Sovereign Fleet so angry. I love everyone in this scene. I cannot wait until this movie releases. Now check out the two TV spots below:

The truth is out there and Agent's Mulder and Scully will continue to search for it in another season of The X-Files! Thar's right, The X-Files will be back for a 10-episode eleventh season! How freakin' cool is that!
Fox has been trying to work out deals with series creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson since the series revival premiered last year. Well, they managed to work everything out because their all coming back to continue the story of these characters.
The X-Files is one of my favorite series of all time so I'm beside myself with excitement right now! FBC president David Madden had this to say in a statement regarding the return of the series:
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators — these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
There's no other information to share regarding the series right now, but I can't wait to see what crazy situations that Moulder and Scully find themselves in next!
