Short Film ALL YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS! Blends Animation With Dozens of Live-Action Movie Clips

The folks at Ornana Films, the same team who created the jaw-dropping animated war short "Confusion Through Sand", are back with a new short film project called "All Your Favorite Shows!" While not technically a horror film, it plays up the idea that being obsessed with consuming entertainment at your fingertips can become a horrifying thing if it's not kept in check, and it uses an inventive blend of animation and dozens of live-action film clips to tell its story. This is one of the best-edited pieces of filmmaking I've seen in a long time, and that includes a bunch of feature films that I've seen this year. The dazzling editing on display goes a long way in helping to capture the sense of imagination of the young boy protagonist, making "All Your Favorite Shows!" something I certainly won't forget any time soon.

All Your Favorite Shows! premiered at SxSw, but was clearly born to live on the internet. Anything you wanna watch in the palm of your hands! Crazy convenient. Crazy...

Charlize Theron Teams With JOHN WICK Directors For Spy Thriller THE COLDEST CITY

Last week, Lionsgate confirmed that Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, the directors of John Wick, would be returning for a sequel along with star Keanu Reeves. That isn't the only movie the directors are circling, but now they can add another project to their increasingly full plate.

Deadline reports that Stahelski and Leitch will direct Charlize Theron in The Coldest City, a film adaptation of writer Antony Johnston's graphic novel. Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

November 1989. Communism is collapsing, and soon the Berlin Wall will come down with it. But before that happens there is one last bit of cloak & dagger to attend to. Two weeks ago, an undercover MI6 officer was killed in Berlin. He was carrying information from a source in the East - a list that allegedly contains the name of every espionage agent working in Berlin, on all sides. No list was found on his body. Now Lorraine Broughton, an experienced spy with no pre-existing ties to Berlin, has been sent into this powder keg of social unrest, counter-espionage, defections gone bad and secret assassinations to bring back the list and save the lives of the British agents whose identities reside on it.

That sounds cool and everything, but I find it a little hard to believe that people are still using the NOC list from the first Mission: Impossible as a plot device. It seems like that has become too much of a cliche these days, and it's one of those MacGuffins that always makes me roll my eyes when it pops up in a movie or TV show. But Theron is great, and hopefully writer Kurt Johnstad (300, Act of Valor) can put an interesting spin on the concept and give her a great character to embody.

Theron can be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road starting this week, while Stahelski and Leitch have Cowboy Ninja Viking in the works as well as John Wick 2 and Bloodshot coming soon. Filming for The Coldest City begins in Germany this October, so unless they get going immediately on any of those other projects, this will be the next film of theirs that arrives in theaters.

Funny POWER RANGERS Parody Starring Dante Basco

Earlier this year, director Joseph Kahn made quite a splash with a hard-R rated Power Rangers parody video called Power/Rangers. And even though there's a legitimate Power Rangers reboot film on the way, it seems the teen fighting franchise isn't finished being skewered quite yet.

Dante Basco, the actor who played Rufio in Steven Spielberg's Hook, stars in a new parody that puts its own spin on the idea of a team of kids teaming up to face off against galactic forces of evil. Have you ever wondered how the Power Rangers physically control the motion of their zords? What happens when a rocket fist gets launched at an enemy? These questions are hilariously answered in this video from Loot Crate. Check it out below:

5 New Character Posters for TERMINATOR GENISYS

Director Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys looks like an incredibly cool and intriguing movie. As excited as I am for it, I have to say that I think the studio and marketing team gave away way too much of the story in the their marketing materials. They really should have left the whole John Connor Terminator thing a secret, because that would have been a great surprise while watching the movie.

We have five new character posters for you to check out today featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, and Jai Courtney.

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

The movie is set to be released on July 1st.

Ryan Reynolds released this new official photo from Deadpool featuring the Merc with a Mouth in the middle of a crazy fun looking action scene in which he's firing two guns whilst jumping through the air. This looks like it comes from several of the set photos that have been released over the last month. The photo came with the following caption:

"Stuck the landing. With my mouth."

In case you missed Deadpool's Mother's Day celebration photo yesterday, makes sure to check it out here. The movie hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.

EX MACHINA Star Alicia Vikander Joins Tom Hanks in Tech Thriller THE CIRCLE

If you're a big movie fan and you aren't familiar with actress Alicia Vikander, I suspect that will change very soon. She was the breakout star of Ex Machina, she has a period romance called Testament of Youth on the way, and she'll appear in Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. later this year. And that's only about half of her cinematic output — for 2015 alone. She's having a Jessica Chastain moment, and in about a year or two, Vikander's career could be on a similar trajectory.

If all goes well, she'll be getting another boost in popularity by starring opposite one of America's favorite actors in a new thriller. THR reports that Vikander has joined the cast of The Circle, a tech suspense story starring Tom Hanks that's based on Dave Eggers' 2013 novel of the same name. She'll play the lead role under the watchful eye of director James Ponsoldt, who helmed the indie hits Smashed and The Spectacular Now. Here's a detailed synopsis:

When Mae Holland is hired to work for the Circle, the world’s most powerful internet company, she feels she’s been given the opportunity of a lifetime. The Circle, run out of a sprawling California campus, links users’ personal emails, social media, banking, and purchasing with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency. As Mae tours the open-plan office spaces, the towering glass dining facilities, the cozy dorms for those who spend nights at work, she is thrilled with the company’s modernity and activity. There are parties that last through the night, there are famous musicians playing on the lawn, there are athletic activities and clubs and brunches, and even an aquarium of rare fish retrieved from the Marianas Trench by the CEO. Mae can’t believe her luck, her great fortune to work for the most influential company in the world — even as life beyond the campus grows distant, even as a strange encounter with a colleague leaves her shaken, even as her role at the Circle becomes increasingly public. What begins as the captivating story of one woman’s ambition and idealism soon becomes a heart-racing novel of suspense, raising questions about memory, history, privacy, democracy, and the limits of human knowledge.

Vikander facing off against an evil Steve Jobs/Mark Zuckerberg figure played by the lovable Tom Hanks? Sounds awesome to me. There's no planned start date for production yet, but we'll keep you posted when we hear more.

STAR WARS Character Biggs Darklighter Gets His Due in Documentary Short

Jamie Benning is famous for his Filmumentaries, detailed documentaries that piece together interviews, rare behind the scenes footage, and commentaries to form what many consider to be the definitive bonus feature for films ranging from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Jaws, and more. He's also produced some shorter documentaries about specific aspects of blockbuster films, like this one dedicated to the opening scene from Back to the Future or this one concentrating on the operation of Jabba the Hutt in the Star Wars movies.

Now Benning has once again journeyed to a galaxy far, far away in order to bring us Blast It Biggs! Where Are You?, a new filmumentary that shines a light on the obscure character Biggs Darklighter. This guy originally had a much larger role in the original Star Wars, but it was drastically cut down before release. Since I never spent much time diving into the expanded universe stories, I'd never even given him a second thought, but as usual, Benning is able to present the information in a compelling way that makes me want to know what other secrets I've missed out on over the years. The NBC series Heroes is coming back for a limited series run called Heroes Reborn. The show is currently in production, and we've got our first look at it thanks to three photos that have been released. They feature returning cast member Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, as well as the new additions Zachary Levi and Kiki Sukezane as Luke Collins and Miko Otomo, respectively.

The upcoming series will also see the return of Masi Oka as Hiro and Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian, alongside a host of new characters, which are mentioned in the press release below the photos. We don't know much about the story, but it will tie into the original show’s first season, which followed ordinary people who started to manifest extraordinary abilities.

Heroes Reborn is set to air later this year.

Here's some additional information from the press release:

The saga behind the 2006 breakout series “Heroes” will continue this fall as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept.
This highly anticipated 13-episode event series will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season, where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities.
Original cast member Jack Coleman will reprise his role as H.R.G., Jimmy Jean-Louis returns as The Haitian, and Masi Oka will be back as Hiro Nakamura. Also joining the cast are Zachary Levi (of NBC’s “Chuck” and the Marvel franchise “Thor”), Ryan Guzman (“The Boy Next Door”), Robbie Kay (“Once Upon a Time”), Danika Yarosh (“Shameless”), Judith Shekoni (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″), Kiki Sukezane (“Death Yankee 3″), Henry Zebrowski (NBC’s “A to Z”) and Gatlin Green (“Criminal Minds”).
With the return of “Heroes Reborn,” NBC will launch a digital series prior to the premiere that will introduce new characters and storylines that will take the “Heroes” phenomenon to new places. NBC’s digital platforms, as well as Hulu and video-on-demand, will debut the online prequel to the series prior to the show’s premiere.

An Angry Mario Tries To Escape The Mushroom Kingdom in NSFW Animated Video

Fox's Animation Domination HD is back with another crazy video, and this one imagines what might happen if Mario were a real plumber who reacted like a regular person might if they were suddenly transported to a bizarre Mushroom Kingdom. When fictional characters are placed in strange circumstances, they'll often accept their surroundings without too many questions. But Mario has nothing but questions at every turn in this video, wondering everything from who would put bricks in the sky to why the heck there's a giant turtle keeping a princess captive in a castle.

And in case the headline didn't give it away, it's not recommended to watch this at work or within earshot of small children, because this plumber is PISSED. He spends pretty much the entire video dropping F-bombs, so keep that in mind when you watch. For more videos like this one, click here.

MINORITY REPORT and LUCIFER TV Series Trailers

FOX has released the first trailers for two of their upcoming TV series that many of you might find interesting. The first is a trailer for the small screen adaptation of Steven Spielberg's sci-fi film Minority Report. The second is for a series adaptation of the Vertigo Comic's series Lucifer. Both of these shows have been picked up for full series by the network. Minority Report looks like it has potential, but Lucifer doesn't really look that good to me.

Minority Report is executive produced by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and Spielberg, and it "follows the partnership between a man (Stark Sands, Inside Llewyn Davis) haunted by the future and a cop (Meagan Good, Think Like A Man, Californication) haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes before they happen."

Licuifer stars Tom Ellis (Merlin) and is executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Len Wiseman (Underworld), who also directed the pilot episode. In the series Ellis plays "the charming, charismatic and handsome-as-hell original fallen angel, who, bored and unhappy in Hell, takes refuge in Los Angeles, where he uses his gift of persuasion to punish bad guys. But the longer he’s away from the underworld, the greater the threat that the worst of humanity could escape."

Minority Report will be released this fall, while Lucifer won't premiere until January 2016. Check out the trailers below, and let us know if you plan on watching either one of them. I also included an "Inside Look" video for Minority Report.

With only two episodes of The Flash and one episode of Arrow left in their respective seasons, The CW has released several slick new character posters in their continuing “cage match” series. They feature Matt Nable’s Ra’s al Ghul, Robbie Amell’s Firestorm, and several other characters from the series that I know you’ll recognize.

This week’s episode of The Flash is titled “Rogue Air” and is officially described as follows:

“As Wells (Tom Cavanagh) once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), for help. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) warn Barry that Cold can’t be trusted. True to form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets reinforcements – Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (guest star Robbie Amell).”

Written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski, “Rogue Air” is set to air May 12th.

The Arrow finale is titled “My Name Is Oliver Queen” and The CW offers the following official synopsis:

“Everyone’s lives are in danger as Ra’s al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable) puts forth his final plan. Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) must decide if he’s strong enough to take on this new role and what it will mean for everyone on Team Arrow, and his soul.”

Directed by John Behring with story by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim and Jake Coburn, “My Name Is Oliver Queen” is set to air May 13th.

SUICIDE SQUAD Fan Art With Joker and Harley Quinn

Boss Logic is back with another stunning piece of fan art he created for Suicide Squad. We posted one last week featuring Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. We now have a piece that features the deadly and psychotic character with Jared Leto's The Joker. It’s hard to imagine these characters without each other in their lives. I’m so excited to that are finally being brought to the big screen. Hopefully their portrayal will live up to fan expectations.

I’ve also included a recent set photo from the David Ayer film that shows Will Smith’s Deadshot carrying Harley. I’m not sure if they are just having fun here in-between shoots, or if this is actually going to be part of the film. I guess we'll find out eventually.

SHERLOCK Season 4 Will Be Dark and Starts Shooting in 2016

sherlock-season-4-will-be-dark-and-it-starts-shooting-in-2016

It's going to be awhile before the long-awaited fourth season of Sherlock is ready for fans to watch. Stephen Moffat said that the fourth season of the popular BBC drama won't start filming until spring of 2016. The news was revealed during a BATFA press conference (via Digital Spy). Moffat also teased the series in a previous interview with EW in which he said the series will represent "an emotional upheaval." and leave fans desperate for season 5. He went on to say,

"There are answers coming to questions which nobody has asked. There's one thing that no one has really brought up…"

He added,

"[Series four] is going to be... I suppose you'd say... consequences. It's consequences. Chickens come to roost. It's dark in some ways - obviously it's great fun and a Sherlock Holmes romp and all that - but there's a sense of things coming back to bite you.”

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman both have packed schedules, so it makes sense that they would have to wait so long to get season 4 going. At least they are still making time to do it! Hopefully they will make it to season 5, especially if season 4 is going to make fans desperate for it.

At least we have the standalone Sherlock victorian special which is set to air later in 2015. The 90-minute special will be separate from the other seasons of the show. You can read more about that here.

Anne Hathaway to Star in Giant Monster Movie COLOSSAL

Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) is writing and directing a giant monster movie movie for Voltage Pictures called Colossal, and Anne Hathaway is set to star in it.

This sounds like an intriguing film project, described as being a combination of films such as Godzilla and Lost in Translation. According to THR, Hathaway will play a character named Gloria, "an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and her fiancé, decides to leave her life in New York to move back to her hometown." Then things take a very weird and unexpected turn...

When news reports surface that a giant lizard is destroying the city of Tokyo, Gloria gradually comes to realize that she is strangely connected to these far-off events via the power of her mind. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.

The project definitely has my attention! Vigalondo has made some fun films that also include Open Windows and segments of the horror anthology films ABCs of Death and V/H/S: Viral. He said in a statement,

"Colossal is my most ambitious script so far, and probably also the most personal one. Having Anne and this terrific team around goes beyond my craziest expectations."

Voltage CEO Nicolas Chartier added,

“As huge fans of Timecrimes, we are thrilled to be collaborating with a filmmaker as talented as Nacho. He has written an extraordinarily unique piece of material and we look forward to seeing Anne in such a challenging role."

Colossal seems like it has the potential to be a super cool movie, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

What Would the FURIOUS 7 Stunts Be Like if They Were Real?

As you know, the Fast and Furious franchise is full of ridiculously over-the-top stunts. I don’t care if any of the stunts that we saw in those movies could happen in real life or not, it’s just fun as hell to watch. If they made these films with realistic scenarios it would probably be incredibly boring. Let's face it, if Dom and his gang were REALLY driving around Los Angeles they would be stuck in traffic most of the time. College Humor has some fun with the stunts from Furious 7, though, and they created an animated video that shows us how some of those stunts might have turned out if they were more realistic.

The Joker and Mr. Freeze Confirmed for GOTHAM Season 2

Gotham's rogue gallery of villains is going to expand even more in season 2 with the addition of The Joker and Mr. Freeze. Fox has confirmed that the two characters will be introduced next season, and I couldn't be more excited!

These are both great villains, and it will be interesting to see how far they go to torment Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock. The news came from Gotham's "Upfronts" presentation for the coming fall, and it was reported by IGN writer Eric Goldman.

In case you're wondering, the upfronts presentation gives the series creators the opportunity to pitch their upcoming programs to advertisers and members of the press.

Last year Gotham director Danny Cannon said that Mr. Freeze was a character he would love to introduce into the series, and he got his wish. As for the Joker, we knew he would eventually show up. They teased several different characters in the first season who could possibly turn out to be the Joker. Showrunner Bruno Heller even said that that there will finally be a real hint of a storyline for the Joker by the end of the first season. Well, the first season has come and gone, and I'm not really sure where that storyline would have been set up. I guess it will be revealed when season 2 comes into play.

Other than all of the potential Joker plants they through during Season 1, did you see any real storyline for the Crown Prince of Crime set up in the final few episodes of the season? Maybe I missed something.

I'm excited to see how these characters are going to be handled in this series.

This R2-D2 inspired Volkswagen bus was created by Instructables user mimaki cg60. This was a old family vehicle that he wanted to turn into something slick, geeky, and cool. He succeeded! Here’s what he said on his page:

“It all began when we looked at the family's old-looking VW bus and started wondering how to transform it. The first idea was to transform it into a woody-vw bus, but after a Star Wars marathon, we finally found the droid we were looking for.
“We decided to recreate all the objects on R2D2 and adapt them to fit the bus. All the measurements and computer work took about 50 hours, plus vinyl wrapping till we lost count.”
