five-stages-of-watching-a-marvel-movie-animated-comedy-sketch

We have less than a week to go before Marvel unleashes Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters, and the fans are excited as hell! How It Should Have Ended has released an animated comedy sketch created by OnlyLeigh, and in it she points out the five stages that a lot of fanboys and fangirls go through when watching a Marvel movie. It may not be true for everybody, but it's definitely true for at least someone you know. Enjoy the video!

These Guys Put An X-Wing Toy in Space Hoping to Get STAR WARS Premiere Tickets

Tickets to the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will probably be one of the most desired items in the world until the final credits roll in that screening. Everyone would love to attend that mega-geek event, witness the birth of the new Star Wars saga on the big screen, and of course, see the movie before everyone else. But while we all wish we could go, tickets are likely pretty scarce. J.J. Abrams and the folks at Lucasfilm might just have to set aside two seats for a couple of especially creative Star Wars fans, though — using high-altitude balloons, these guys just sent an X-wing toy into space and filmed it with a GoPro camera.

That's pretty freakin' impressive. As it says in the video, perhaps Abrams will appreciate their use of practical effects and shooting on location and give these guys two tickets to the hottest movie of the year. Good luck, guys!

Deadpool V Deadpool: Dawn of Deadpool — Minute Match-Up Video

The YouTube channel ismahawk has started a new web-series called "Minute Match-Up," and with the new Deadpool movie currently in production, their first episode centers around the Merc With a Mouth.

It's called "Deadpool V Deadpool: Dawn of Justice," and it features a fight between classic Deadpool that we all love, and the stupid-ass Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The video has a lot of high energy, and the fight sequence is fun to watch. Of course, it wouldn't truly be a proper Deadpool fan film without some snarky comments. Watch the video and let us know what you think!

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Gets Two New Clips

0

I try not to pay too much attention to film clips that are unveiled before a movie is released, because I'd much rather see them in context when I'm actually watching the movie. But I'm definitely in the minority with that opinion, because Marvel has released two new clips for Avengers: Age of Ultronbringing the total number of clips up to a staggering 14. Take the trailers and other extended looks into account, and there's a decent chunk of the film that's already available for anyone to see right now before the film opens in the U.S. this week. But fans can't get enough of the Marvel films, so I suppose the studio knows what it's doing.

In the first clip, we see Captain America and Thor teaming up to save a woman in a car from a long drop to certain doom. I saw the film a couple of weeks ago, and some of its best moments involve our heroes breaking off into various mini-teams to get things done. Under the direction of Joss Whedon, those different permutations are always fascinating to watch, and they result in a bunch of geek-tastic shots that are going to drive fans crazy. (It's also a nice antidote to the anti-civilian vibe of Man of Steel.)

The second clip shows Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver meeting Ultron, and it gives you all a great sense of the kind of dialogue you can expect from James Spader's character: philosophical, but also kind of snarky.

Musical Marvel Supercut Features X-MEN, SPIDER-MAN, AVENGERS, and More

Spider-Man is heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means that we're one step closer to seeing an epic superhero film with all of the Marvel comics characters sharing the screen. It's only a tiny step closer, though, because — as you all know — different studios own the rights to different Marvel characters. But supercuts don't have to follow any of those rules. They're allowed to mash things up however they see fit. Robert Jones has cut together a musical supercut of all of the modern Marvel films, not just ones that fit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's right, you'll get a glimpse of Howard the Duck, Blade, the Spider-Man films, and the X-Men movies alongside your favorite MCU heroes. Crank your speakers and check it out below:

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD — Images of the Film's Insane Vehicles

After a stint in animation directing the Happy Feet movies, George Miller returns to live-action in a big way with this summer's Mad Max: Fury Road. The movie is among the most anticipated of the year for many film geeks, and the jaw-droppingly awesome footage that has emerged from the first few trailers has likely earned the attention of casual viewers, also.

Gearheads will appreciate these new photos from Car and Driver, which showcase some of the movie's absolutely insane-looking vehicles. These cars — with cool names like Interceptor and Gigahorse —often look more like tanks than anything you'd see cruising down your local highway, unless of course you live in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Then you probably see stuff like this all the time. And if you have some free time from scrounging for scraps or battling hordes of roving gangs to read this article, maybe the apocalypse won't be as bad as we think. Mad Max: Fury Road revs into theaters on May 15th.

Food Doesn't Stand A Chance in the Hulkbuster High Chair

The team at Super-Fan Builds is back with another awesome movie-related project, and this time they're taking their inspiration from Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. One of the film's most iconic scenes is the battle between Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man who is wearing specialized Hulkbuster armor, and we've already seen a ton of cosplay, toys, and statues (including this life-sized one!) that pay tribute to the scene. Now the battle moves into the kitchen with this build, which decks out a traditional high chair to look like Stark's armor. It even features a small arc reactor in the chest for good measure.

Live-Action DEATH NOTE Film Moving Forward with Director of YOU'RE NEXT

0

A live-action adaptation of the hit anime series Death Note has been in development for years. In 2011 Iron Man 3 director Shane Black was attached to the film, and in 2014 Gus Van Sant was supposed to take a crack at it. Nothing ever happened with those, but this is a movie that is bound to happen one day.

Maybe director Adam Wingard will be the lucky guy to bring it to life. He has just signed on to helm the project. If you’re not familiar with the name, Windward is the director of cult indie genre films such as The Guest and You’re Next. I really dig Windward’s directing and storytelling style, and I think this would be a great project for him! He seems like a better choice than Black or Van Sant. I hope that the film goes through with Wingard attached because I believe he will deliver a film that many fans will be happy with.

The manga series was written by Tsugumi Ohba and artist Takeshi Obata and centers around a high school student named Light Yagami, who finds a book called the Death Note which has the power to kill anyone whose name is written within it. The most recent script for the film was written by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four). Here's a more detailed description of the story:

Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects - and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal...or his life? Light tests the boundaries of the Death Note powers as L and the police begin to close in. Luckily Light's father is the head of the Japanese National Police Agency and leaves vital information about the case lying around the house. With access to his father's files, Light can keep one step ahead of the authorities. But who is the strange man following him, and how can Light guard against enemies whose names he doesn't know?

Wingard also directed segments of the horror anthology films V/H/S and The ABCs of Death. Before he starts work on Death Note he will direct The Woods, which is a horror movie set up at Lionsgate and is set to shoot this summer. What are your thoughts on Wingard taking on the challenge of brining Death Note to the big screen?

Yesterday we got our first look at Kodi Smit-McPhee as the teleporting mutant Nightcrawler in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. The film has already started shooting, and we have a few more things to share with you.

First, we have are photos from the set of the movie that feature Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler. As you can see, they are all sporting wonderfully 1980s clothing.

Second, we have some new concept art, which spans from ancient Egypt to the film’s “present day” setting, which is 1983. It’s going to be so cool to see some of these visuals brought to life on the big screen.

The film is set to be released on May 27th, 2016. I’m really excited for this movie, and it will be great to see these young mutant characters in action! What do you think about the photos of the characters and the concept art presented below?

Endgame Promo Spot for the Final Episodes of THE FLASH

0

The CW has released a new preview called "Endgame" that teases the final four episodes of The Flash season 1. In case you missed the previous trailer, I included that one as well for you to watch. This first season has been quite an incredible ride, and it’s one of my favorite shows to watch at the moment.

I’ve also provided some information for three of the upcoming episodes:

Tonight we have Episode 1.20, which is titled “The Trap," and was written by Alison Schapker and Brooke Eikmeier and directed by Steve Shill. Here's the official description:

Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) set a trap for Wells (Tom Cavanagh). Cisco uses himself as prey which puts him in grave danger. Meanwhile, Eddie (Rick Cosnett) makes a decision regarding Iris (Candice Patton), which leaves Joe a bit unsettled.”

On May 5th, we have “Grodd Lives," written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski, the official synopsis reads as follows:

Barry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash’s (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk.

Then on May 12th comes “Rogue Air,” which was written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski. It is described as follows:

As Wells (Tom Cavanagh) once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), for help. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) warn Barry that Cold can’t be trusted. True to form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets reinforcements – Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (guest star Robbie Amell).

We don’t yet have a description for the season finale, “Fast Enough,” but it's set to air on May 19th. It was written by Gabrielle Stanton and Andrew Kreisberg from a story by Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti.

Kevin Smith directs Stan Lee directing Kevin Smith and several other actors in this hilarious comedy sketch called "Stan Lee Cameo School." In the short, the comic book legend is teaching a unique acting class that focuses on cameo appearances.

Lee is the king of cameos, and fans are always on the lookout for him in Marvel films. Some of the actors that make cameos in this cameo-centric tale include Tara Reid, Michael Rooker, Lou Ferrigno, and Jason Mewes

The short is actually an ad for the Audi S8, which also makes a cameo appearance. The ad comes along with the note, "It’s time for the world to appreciate the subtle art of cameo acting."

DEADPOOL Writers Developing a Movie about 1985's "New Coke" Disaster

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writing team behind films like Zombieland and the upcoming Deadpool movie, are now developing a feature film based on 1985’s “New Coke,” which was a complete marketing disaster for the company. The news comes from Deadline, who reports that the pair have acquired the big screen rights to the 1987 nonfiction account of the story, The Real Coke, The Real Story, which was written by Thomas Oliver.

In 1985, the Coca-Cola Company did the unthinkable; they destroyed an American institution; they changed the taste of Coke. This is the story of how the Coca-Cola Company failed to realize the value of its own product and how they turned the mistake into a marketing triumph.

According to the book’s official description, the story takes us "inside the Coca-Cola Company to examine one of the most fascinating episodes in the history of American business in this cautionary tale of corporate decision making.”

I knew a little bit about this dark point in history, but it wasn't until this movie was announced that I took the time to do a little digging to learn a little more. The Coca Cola Company has published a brief account of their infamous product reboot on their official site,

“The Coca-Cola Company took arguably the biggest risk in consumer goods history, announcing that it was changing the formula for the world’s most popular soft drink, and spawning consumer angst the likes of which no business has ever seen.”

The Coke site goes on to explain:

“Protest groups — such as the Society for the Preservation of the Real Thing and Old Cola Drinkers of America (which claimed to have recruited 100,000 in a drive to bring back 'old' Coke) — popped up around the country. Songs were written to honor the old taste. Protesters at a Coca-Cola event in downtown Atlanta in May carried signs with ‘We want the real thing’ and ‘Our children will never know refreshment.'”

According to the report, the duo will write the script and produce the period piece, and it "will convey how a perceived threat by No. 2 rival Pepsi driven home by a clever 'Pepsi Challenge' marketing campaign led to corporate panic, even though Coke was outselling its rival 2-to-1."

This is truly a fascinating story, and I'm sure it will make for a great movie, especially with Reese and Wernick behind its development. Here are some commercials that were made for the product starring Bill Cosby. I also included a brief video that offers some additional background on the terrible decision that Coke made.

Spectacular Stop-Motion Animated TRANSFORMERS Short Film

spectacular-stop-motion-animated-transformers-short-film

You've gotta check out this insanely cool and action-packed stop-motion Transformers short created by Harris Loureiro. It’s called Transformers: Generation, and this thing is completely off the hook! It follows Bumblebee and Wheeljack out on patrol when they come across some Decepticons who are looking to cause some trouble. Both sides end up calling for backup, and the battle that ensues is surprisingly spectacular.

The creator offered the following information on his project. His English is a bit broken, but you’ll get the idea of what he’s trying to say:

“It took me 6 month for whole filming proses. At the beginning this movie was suppose to be separate into two part. But think again... better let it be a whole full length release. Even tho this is not a 2 hour or 3 hour kinda movie lol.
“And luckily there is a figure that have accuracy of the G1 Original design. Such as Masterpiece series and some 3rd party stuff. Their have great articulation and good poseability on each figure that could delivered the action you wanted.
“And most of the figures i use is loan from friends. Wish they were mine so i can make more accuracy on it. Such as battle damage..wheathering effects...all that kinda of stuff haha.. surely will look more interesting.
“The love on the G1 cartoon is too high that make me made this short movie. It's took too much of my time for making it. But its really what a toys collector wanted. Seeing their favourite toys in action lol
“The story is kinda mix with the cartoon series version , the 86' movie and Comics version "All hail Megatron" story line.”

He goes on to reveal that he will most likely make a sequel to it, which would be pretty damn awesome. You’re in for a real treat — I hope you enjoy this!

Boy Scouts Take on an Evil Force in the Woods in CUB Trailer

Cub is a crazy-looking Belgian horror film that follows an outcast boy and his fellow boy scouts as they are forced to face off with an evil force that lurks in the woods. The movie made the film festival rounds last year, and according to several of the reviews, the movie is full of over-the-top violence and bloody carnage. The reviews have been mixed, but it sounds like it all depends on your taste of films. If you're a fan of horror movies like I am then you'll probably enjoy it, but if not, then it's something you might want to skip. Here's the synopsis:

This dark, bloody imaginative fairy tale about a camping trip that turns into deadly carnage draws on such influences as Lord of the Rings, Friday the 13th and The Devil’s Backbone. The story follows 12-year-old outcast Sam who, along with his troop of cub scouts and their teenage supervisors, camp in woods rumored to house a mysterious and deadly werewolf. Inquisitive Sam, certain the woods are inhibited by something evil, soon stumbles upon a feral young boy and, eventually, his evil psychopathic mentor. But convincing the others of the danger falls on deaf ears, and soon ingenious traps begin to take their violent toll on the group. A wildly entertaining “killer in the woods” actioner.

Cub hits Blu-Ray and DVD on August 18th. Watch the trailer and let us know if it looks like a film you'd want to watch.

STAR WARS' Battle of Hoth Recreated as Tabletop Gaming Table

The Battle of Hoth in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is one of the greatest battle scenes ever put on film. It's one of those things that still gives me the chills when I watch it. As a tribute to that epic scene, the creative team over at Beasts of War recreated the battle in the form of an awesome tabletop gaming table. It was made for the Salute 2015 wargames show that took place in the UK. I'm not into tabletop gaming, but I do appreciate the art that goes into it. Here's what they had to say about the creation of the game on their site:

As you can see we've really gone to town on this board and made a series of trench works alongside a massive Echo Base that not only includes the Millennium Falcon but also a great hanger bay for all the Snowspeeders.

New Trailer For JUST CAUSE 3 Promises Explosions Galore

0

I never had the time to play the full Just Cause 2 game when it came out, but I did download the demo for PS3 and had a blast messing around in that world, blowing up pretty much everything I could get my grappling hook on. The game felt like a more ridiculous version of Grand Theft Auto to me, one in which physics didn't matter quite as much and you could constantly use parachutes and a never-ending supply of grappling hooks to zoom around and cause as much destruction as possible.

Five years later, a new trailer has just debuted for Just Cause 3, and the game looks like it's fully embracing that ridiculous anarchy. Pretty much everything you see in this trailer explodes, and this gameplay looks like a pumped up version of what we've already seen in this franchise. The game is reportedly set to come out at the very end of this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and I might actually consider buying a PS4 just so I can get in on the action. Let us know what you think below.

Wolverine is Batman in Rad Mash-up Art by Josselin Billard

wolverine-is-batman-in-mash-up-art-by-josselin-billard

Artist Josselin Billard came up with the brilliant idea of combining the badassery of Wolverine and Batman. The piece is called "Dark Claw," and it's based on a shared universe between DC and Marvel by Amalgam Comics in which the two comic book publishers combined their characters into new ones like this Dark Claw.

This was something that I was unaware of until it was pointed out to me in the comment section. This is one of those things I missed during the 90s because I was reading a lot of Image Comics stuff at the time, and I was doing a ton of traveling at the time.

It makes sense that Wolverine would dress up as the Dark Knight to hunt down villains and bring them to death's door. Unlike Batman, Wolverine is willing to kill to get the job done.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Casts A New Shredder

During production of last year's live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, actor William Fichtner's Eric Sacks character was supposed to be revealed as the villainous Shredder. But during reshoots, the filmmakers decided to change things up and have a different actor (Tohoru Masamune) step in to play that role. For the sequel, the actor portraying the Turtles' nemesis will change yet again: Variety reports that Brian Tee has been cast as Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Tee, who you may recognize from The Wolverine, The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, and the upcoming Jurassic World, will join Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amellsupermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, and Tyler Perry in the sequel, set to be directed by Earth To Echo helmer David Green. The movie arrives in theaters on June 3rd, 2016, and you can see some new pictures of some of the vehicles from the film right here.
