First Photo of Johnny Deep as Jack Sparrow in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5

first-photo-of-johnny-deep-as-jack-sparrow-in-pirates-of-the-caribbean-5

Hey look! It's our first look at Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and he looks exactly what you'd expect him to look like. It's not like Disney is going to do anything new with the character.

Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted out the photo with the caption, "Captain Jack is back and we're not letting him go." As you may have heard, production was recently halted after Depp injured himself. The film is back in production though, and it's set to be released in theaters on July 7th, 2017.

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Imperial Stormtrooper Muppet Cosplay Mashup from Star Wars Celebration

Some of the most amusing cosplay that I saw while attending Star Wars Celebration 2015 were these Muppets dressed up as Imperial Stormtroopers and Darth Vader. I've got a couple videos of them below showing off their fun costume designs. I should warn you, the first video comes with an embarrassingly bad beatbox soundtrack. The cosplay is great though!

JOHN WICK Directors Tackling BLOODSHOT Movie Adaptation

0
0

According to THR, John Wick directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch — who are already developing a comic book adaptation with Cowboy Ninja Viking — will be directing another comic book movie soon, kicking off yet another new cinematic universe.

Sony Pictures has teamed with Valiant Entertainment for a five picture deal to bring adaptations of two comic series, Bloodshot and Harbinger, to the big screen. The properties will receive two solo films each before coming together in a crossover film called Harbinger Wars. The first movie in this plan, Bloodshot, is being directed by Stahelski and Leitch, written by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) and Eric Heisserer (The Thing 2011), and executive produced by Jason Kothari and Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Secret Service).

Directors are being kept under wraps for Harbinger and the eventual crossover movie, but Heisserer will write Harbinger while Fast & Furious producers Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe will produce all five films in the franchise. I'm not familiar with Valiant Entertainment and their comic books, so I'm sure those of you who are right there with me are wondering what the heck these movies will even be about. Here's the breakdown:

Bloodshot follows "a soldier brought back from the dead by a secret government agency, turned into an unstoppable killing machine with no memory powered by nanotechnology." Harbinger "is a next-generation X-Men-esque storyline about a group of superpowered beings on the run from the Harbinger Foundation, an organization run by a mysterious philanthropist Toyo Harada."

Cinematic universes are all the rage right now, so it's not surprising that another company would try to emulate Marvel's success. Based on what little I know about Bloodshot, it seems like Stahelski and Leitch are well-qualified to bring that action-packed story to the big screen, so I'm curious to see what these films end up looking like when they're eventually released. Bloodshot is aiming for a 2017 release.

Adam McKay in the Running to Direct Every Marvel Film

0
0

Adam McKay got involved with the Marvel universe when he was hired to rewrite Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man script alongside Paul Rudd. The movie looks fantastic, and it seems like McKay really hit it off with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. The studio really wants to work with the writer/director again, and in a interview with Collider, Feige said that the director is in the running for all Marvel movies.

“Adam McKay is in the running for everything. Adam McKay is a great, great writer and director. He did an amazing pass on the Ant-Man draft with Paul Rudd for us, and I didn’t know him before then. And we got to know him through that and liked him very much, and have met with him a number of times trying to find something else, so we’ve talked about a lot of characters with him.”

So far the remaining films in Phase 3 that don’t have a director include Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Inhumans. So it could be any of those, unless they wait until Phase 4 to bring him in. I’m sure that they’ll get a woman to direct Captain Marvel so we can probably count that one out. That leaves us with Black Panther and Inhumans. I’d say the latter is the most likely candidate, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

The rumored logline for Inhumans says that it’s about “a group of people that are given powers only to discover they might be part of an alien race.” When Feige was asked about that he replied:

“Well I’d say that’s relatively fair, but that’s not official. I’ve never seen that as an official logline.”

If you’ve been watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. then you know that that’s basically the direction they are taking things. It will be really interesting to see how the series leads into the movie, if they even make it that far. The movie is set for release on July 12th, 2019.

What Marvel film would you like to see Adam McKay take on?

Ewan McGregor to Play Lumiere in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

0
0

The cast of Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast continues to grow.

According to THR, Ewan McGregor has joined the cast as Lumiere, the candelabra maitre d’ who belts out the showstopping tune "Be Our Guest" in one of the animated movie's most memorable moments. Director Bill Condon (familiar with musicals from his work on Dreamgirls) is incorporating songs into this live-action version as well, and we know from Moulin Rouge! that McGregor has a nice set of pipes himself, so he should fit in very well.

He joins an already-impressive cast of Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as The Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, and Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth. It should be fun to see McGregor and McKellen share the screen together, since they're responsible for bringing some of the most iconic characters in film history to life in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Gandalf the Grey (just to name a few).

Production starts next month, and with a cast like this, we're all expecting great things from this take on Beauty and the Beast.

Ridley Scott's Career Explored in 7-Minute Video

0
0

Ridley Scott has one of the most diverse filmographies of any mainstream director I can think of. He's responsible for some of the most iconic images in the history of science fiction (Alien, Blade Runner), and his influence has been far-reaching and too big to really even calculate. When he's at the top of his game, Scott is one of the best in the business. But he's also made his fair share of crappy movies, too. I guess that's what happens when you churn out movies at such a prolific pace well into your 70s. Check out the video from editor Martin Kessler (via The Playlist) below, and let us know what you think.

FULLER HOUSE Officially Picked Up By Netflix, Sounds Pretty Dark

0
0

Well, it's happening. After some early discussion, Netflix has officially picked up a Full House revival show called Fuller House for a 13-episode run. And based on the official logline, this sounds like it might be a slightly darker show than the happy-go-lucky '90s sitcom that everyone remembers.

In ’Fuller House,’ the adventures that began in 1987 on ’Full House’ continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby.

Get it? It's called Fuller House because D.J.'s new last name is Tanner-Fuller. But man, that character has had quite a life. Her mom died when she was a little girl, and now her husband has died too? And she has two kids with a third on the way? That's pretty freakin' rough. Will D.J.'s old boyfriend Steve re-enter her life again? I'd bet money that he shows up.

Look, I realize that this show is being produced almost solely to pander to the nostalgia of people who grew up watching it, and that if you're not on board with that, you're probably not going to enjoy the series. Is it something I'll check out myself? Honestly, probably not. But there seems to be a big audience out there for this revival (or at least a lot of people talking about it), so I'll wait to hear back from some of you about how it turned out before I fully pass judgment on it.

Pianist Plays DOCTOR WHO Theme Song After Walking Out of The TARDIS

I still haven't ever seen an episode of Doctor Who (I know, I know), but I have a feeling that those of you who are really into the show will get a kick out of this video. Composer Sonya Belousova comes popping out of the TARDIS (I do know that much) and performs a pretty intense piano cover of the theme song. Check it out below:

And if that's not quite your thing, maybe you'd prefer to listen to the real theme song for the next ten hours straight:

Sci-Fi Cult Classic GALAXY QUEST Getting TV Adaptation

0
0

When Galaxy Quest was released in 1999, the movie didn't do very well at the box office. Audiences hadn't yet embraced the "meta" style of humor that we're familiar with now, and though the film was smart, funny, and very well acted, it just didn't find an audience theatrically. That changed when it made its way to DVD, and the movie has since gained cult classic status, going as far as to be ranked one of the best Star Trek films of all time at last year's Star Trek convention even though it isn't actually a real Trek movie.

But I suppose the people at Paramount have seen the movie gain favor with fans over the years, because now Deadline is reporting that the studio is putting a Galaxy Quest TV series into development. If you haven't seen the movie, do yourself a favor and go watch it immediately. It's great, and the cast — including Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell, Alan Rickman, Justin Long, and Tony Shaloub — is truly fantastic. The story follows a group of washed-up TV actors who starred in a sci-fi show who actually get caught up in an intergalactic adventure, meaning they have to step up and actually become heroes to save the world.

Robert Gordon, who wrote the film's script, is expected to write the TV series, while director Dean Parisot and producer Mark Johnson are in talks to executive produce. This is the latest in Paramount's long line of proposed TV adaptations, but this is one of the more exciting attempts to mine their back catalog for worthwhile material. Are you interested in seeing a Galaxy Quest TV series? It sounds like it might be fun, but how can any other cast stack up against the greatness of the one from the original movie?

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Isn't Perfect, but It's Close Enough

0
0

Going into the screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron, I was kind of dubious. It’s a sequel to a beloved movie, and those are always hard to pull off, plus previews had shown about 37 different villains, which is death for a movie. In addition, there were rumors of about 15 different plotlines for the various characters. It seemed impossible for even the patron saint of geeks, Joss Whedon, to pull off. Luckily, I didn’t need to worry. Age of Ultron does a lot, but it mostly does it very well.

The movie wastes no time, beginning in the middle of an assault on a HYDRA stronghold believed to be storing Loki’s scepter. We quickly learn that the whole team — Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye — have been working together to mop up the remnants of HYDRA for awhile now, and they are an incredibly efficient team. There are some set pieces that they have clearly practiced before, and their ability to manage the Hulk’s destruction is fairly impressive. They capture the scepter almost immediately (one of the secondary villains is dispatched with so quickly it was a laugh point at my screening), but not before Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) works her magic on Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), showing him a vision of his worst fears brought to pass. Less than 48 hours later, those fears have given birth to Ultron.

Don’t let any glimpses of Ulysses Klaw or Baron von Strucker fool you, Ultron is the only villain in this movie. Like most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Age of Ultron is the next chapter in the story of Tony Stark, who, let’s face it, hasn’t been dealing well with his newfound knowledge of the infinite threats to mankind. And now with S.H.I.E.L.D. out of commission (I guess that since they all still think he’s dead, Coulson hasn’t been in contact), the Avengers are funded and operated by Stark Industries, privatizing world security and putting the burden of peace even more squarely on his iron-reinforced shoulders. Ultron is made to lift that burden, but he is also made out of that fear. I’ve heard rumblings that other film writers think Age of Ultron is too bleak, but given the arc of Marvel’s Phase 2 films, I don’t see how that bleakness is avoidable. It is a natural continuation of the themes explored in Avengers, Iron Man 3, and The Winter Soldier, and given that next up on our screens is Civil War, I think Marvel fans can expect more of the same.

Ultron is the truly terrifying villain that Marvel has needed, and James Spader is so wonderful in the role that I cannot imagine anyone else playing it. Spader’s aura of innate superiority and self-assured snobbery serve the character well. He doesn’t necessarily want to hurt people (well, except for the Avengers), but he can’t help it if mankind isn’t strong enough to adapt and survive. If Ultron is the embodiment of the worst of Tony Stark, the film’s other sentient android, the Vision, is something else entirely, and again, the role is cast perfectly. I’m not going to say anything about how the Vision comes to be, because it is too interesting to spoil, but Marvel is really lucky that they brought on Paul Bettany way back when the MCU wasn’t even a thing. The Vision has a monologue that is probably the most difficult scene in the film to pull off, and Bettany’s propensity for delivering every one of his lines like it’s Shakespeare lends itself very well. Spader and Bettany’s shared screen time is some of the best stuff in the movie. They are nothing alike, and yet they understand each other in a way that none of the other characters do. It is one of the loveliest things in the film.

Acknowledging the film’s darker edge is not to say that Age of Ultron is no fun. One of the joys of the movie is the team’s highly developed camaraderie. Captain America begins the movie with a tiny moment of fussy prudishness that no one will let him live down, just like you with your best friends. This is a group of people that love each other, despite the philosophical differences that are beginning to crack the surface. As far as acting goes, Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Scarlett Johansson have played these roles in four or five movies now, and they inhabit their characters in a way that comes from that kind of long familiarity. Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye had very little to do in the first movie, but he is given a rich backstory here as the one regular guy on a team of gods and monsters. The long term characterization is smartly used as shorthand to advance the plot, requiring far less exposition than a one-off movie might. Stark is in full-on mad scientist mode in this one, but Downey Jr. can play it naturally because it has been a long ramp up over the course of five movies. It is not at all surprising which character brings the Maximoff twins — Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, previously sworn enemies of Tony Stark — onto the team, because, of course that person would.

The script moves pretty nimbly amongst the massive ensemble. Its impressive that Whedon was able to give each character their own arc, tied directly to the main plot of the movie. Did he pull it off perfectly? Not quite. There is so much going on that a couple of things didn’t get the attention they deserved. The most anticipated action sequence of the movie, the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight/rampage, is incredible to watch, but so appallingly destructive that a bit more attention should have been paid to the consequences and aftermath. The destruction isn’t ignored, but it’s treated as much less of a big deal than it should have been, and the animosity it engenders is forgotten fairly quickly. The biggest emotional beat of the film might have resonated more if one of the characters involved had gotten a few more lines. Also, Ultron’s plan in the final showdown is a bit opaque. The Avengers all seem to catch on immediately, but as an audience member, I was left scratching my head for awhile before I figured it out.

But those complaints didn’t do much to dampen the affect of the movie for me. The action sequences are fantastic, and the movie is go go go from the jump, and in the moments that the action is slowed down, it’s just fun to hang out with these characters whom I have come to love. Even Hawkeye. Despite Whedon’s stated intentions, I don’t know if this is the best standalone Marvel movie ever (although at the Marvel movie awards in my head, it would pick up some prizes), but it is definitely one of the best chapters of the larger story. I liked it better than The Avengers original recipe, but I don't know if that will be the prevailing opinion. Wherever you rank this one in the pantheon of Marvel movies, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Marvel's DAREDEVIL Renewed for Season 2!

0
0

Marvel officially announced that Daredevil has been renewed for a second season! The first season of Daredevil was freakin' amazing, and I'm so excited that Season 2 is on the way. The series will once again air on Netflix, and it will premiere in 2016!

There’s going to be a big change next time around, though. Producer Steven DeKnight will not be coming back as the series showrunner due to previous commitments. He will be replaced by Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy), who both worked closely with DeKnight on Daredevil. I'm sure they'll do great continuing the story of these characters. DeKnight said this in a statement:

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season. I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."

I've already watched the first season of Daredevil twice, and I was completely enthralled by it each time. All of the actors were fantastic, I enjoyed the story, and I can only imagine that it will get even better from here. Here's the press release with the additional details:

With the first season of Marvel's Daredevil proving a smash success with both audiences and critics, Netflix and Marvel will continue to create further adventures of the Man Without Fear! Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez ("Sons of Anarchy"), who worked closely with Executive Producers Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard during the first season, will serve as showrunners for Season 2. Petrie, Ramirez, Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), and Jeph Loeb (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will serve as Executive Producers of Season 2.
Marvel's Daredevil is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones comes only to Netflix later this year and Marvel's Luke Cage premieres on the streaming service in 2016. Future series exclusively debuting on Netflix include Marvel’s Iron Fist and Marvel’s Defenders, a mini-series event that reimagines a team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil”in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Marvel's Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Ayelet Zurer.

STAR TREK 3 Might Be Titled STAR TREK BEYOND

0
0
star-trek-3-might-be-titled-star-trek-beyond

The title of the next Star Trek film may have been reveled thanks to the folks over at StarTrek.com. According to the site, Star Trek 3 will be called Star Trek Beyond. They found that the title has been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). This is a good sign that an official title has been settled on, but you never know with Bad Robot Productions, as they like to keep things secret and mislead fans. So since this name is not 100% confirmed, it could be a decoy.

It would make sense, though, if the title was Star Trek Beyond. After all, it's been previously stated that this will be the first of the newer Star Trek films to be set in deep space, so they will be going beyond anywhere they've been before. When Roberto Orci was working on the project he explained:

"They have set off on their five-year mission. So their adventure is going to be in deep space."

Simon Pegg is currently co-writing the script for the new film with Doug Jung, and in a recent interview with Den of Geek he said:

"So for me it’s now about the spirit of adventure and exploration and also, in modern terms, just how would that be for people, to be away for that amount of time and that kind of stuff."

Pegg wants to take the franchise back to its roots, and said in a separate interview with The Guardian:

“And it’s a story about frontierism and adventure and optimism and fun, and that’s where we want to take it, you know. Where no man has gone before – where no one has gone before, sensibly corrected for a slighter more enlightened generation. But yeah, that’s the mood at the moment.”

With all of that explanation of where the next adventure is going, Star Trek Beyond is definitely an appropriate title, if it's real. I've really loved the first two films that were developed by Abrams, but its good to know that this third one is finally going to break free and take the fans into uncharted territory where no man has gone before. I'm looking forward to it!

Justin Lin is directing the film, and it will include the core cast of the past two films, along with Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, and others. The film will be released on July 8th, 2016

The Invincible Iron Man Action Figure - Ghost Edition

the-invincible-iron-man-action-figure-ghost-edition

Last year we shared a set of custom-made Invincible Iron Man action figures created by Ashley Wood. Those featured a radically different design for Iron Man, and today we have a new one to share with you called the "Ghost Edition." As you can see, it’s a cool white armor design.

This is such fantastically funky alternate design. It’s a 13.5” tall figure, and it’s fully posable. It comes with blue LED lights in the chest, head, and palms which wonderfully complement the white and gold armor trim.

The Ghost Edition Iron Man is available for preorder at 3A’s Bambaland store ahead of a release later this year. If you want one, it’ll cost you $220.

First Photos from POINT BREAK Remake with Official Synopsis

first-photos-from-point-break-remake-with-official-synopsis

Warner Bros. has released a couple of photos giving us our first look at their remake of Point Break. They feature actors Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey who are taking over the roles of Bodhi and Johnny Utah, respectively, previously played by Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves.

Some footage of the film was recently screened at CinemaCon, and I saw a lot of mixed reactions on Twitter from people who saw it. Apparently the footage screened was crazy, extreme, and fun, but there were also descriptions saying that it looks dopey and that it takes itself too seriously.

I haven't seen any of the footage myself, but it doesn't sound like movie is going to hit with hardcore fans of the original film. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see how fans feel after some actual footage is released for the rest of us to see. It's just really hard for me to imagine anyone other that Reeves and Swayze as these two character.

Heres' the synopsis:

In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller “Point Break,” a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a string of staggering crimes that kill innocent people and send the world’s economy into a tailspin.
Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the callous architects of these inconceivable crimes.
The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by extreme athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling.

Point Break hits theaters on December 25th, 2015. It also stars Teresa Palmer as the new Lori Petty and Ray Winstone as the new Gary Busey.

Watch J.J. Abrams and Chewbacca Share a Twizzler for Autism Awareness Month

In support of autism awareness month, a non-profit organization called New York Collaborates for Autism has issued a Twizzler challenge. Two people have to eat a Twizzler from opposite ends of the candy, and it ends up being one of those Lady and the Tramp type deals.

Well, Jimmy Kimmel challenged J.J. Abrams to do it, so he got together with Chewbacca at Star Wars Celebration, and they filmed themselves doing the challenge. It's an amusing video, especially when Abrams realizes he got some of Chewbacca's hair in his mouth. Check it out!

Henry Cavill Says BATMAN V SUPERMAN Is Not a MAN OF STEEL Sequel

0
0

Although Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a follow-up to Man of Steel, Henry Cavill explains that he wouldn't classify it as a sequel. While talking to MTV the Superman actor says that the upcoming movie should stand on its own. Here's what he said:

“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman vs. Superman so it’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe which was kicked off by Man of Steel…. Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands it’s definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”

When asked about what he has seen of the movie so far, he said:

"I’ve only seen a little bit of ADR stuff, but that’s it, and that wasn’t even in color. I’m hoping to see it some time this year, for a friends and family screening or something. But I really know nothing about what the finished product looks like."

With the addition of the of characters like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and most likely a few other heroes, it makes sense that Batman v Superman would stand on its own.

I liked what Zack Snyder showed off in the teaser trailer, and I think Ben Affleck is going to be great as Batman. I'm excited to see more, and I just hope the movie delivers an iron clad story and script that fans can support. I wasn't the biggest fan of Man of Steel because it lacked in those areas, but I'm hoping that Snyder learned from his mistakes and will give us something better this next time around.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.

FURIOUS 7 and Pixar's CARS Make a Perfect Trailer Mashup

We have an awesome mashup trailer that you have to watch that perfectly combines the audio from the Furious 7 trailer with the visuals of Pixar's Cars franchise. It's really funny to see how well these two franchises work together. The trailer was edited by IGN, and it actually makes these Cars movies look good! The Cars franchise isn't my favorite thing Pixar has made, but at least this mashup was born from it.

Aziz Ansari to Star in New Netflix Comedy Series

A couple of months after the series finale of Parks and Recreation, Aziz Ansari has found a new TV gig. EW reports that the comedian will star in a new comedy series on Netflix that he co-created with Parks & Rec writer/producer Alan Yang. The show is currently shrouded in mystery — one of the few things we know about it for sure is that it's filming in New York City — but Netflix is an obvious place for Ansari to launch a new show, considering his success with his stand-up specials on the streaming service.

Parks & Rec showrunner Mike Schur will executive produce this series, which also stars H. Jon Benjamin (the voice of Archer), Lena Waithe (Dear White People), Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!), Noel Wells (SNL), and Kelvin Yu (Popular). Deadline chimes in with the fact that Homeland star Claire Danes is set to guest star, and The Spectacular Now director James Ponsoldt will be directing. Netflix has picked up 10 half-hour episodes, but there's no hint at when we might get to see them. I'm a big fan of Ansari's comedy, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does in this new show.

Adorably Badass DAREDEVIL Kid Cosplay

Here we have some photos of 3-year-old Parker, who seems to have already become a cosplay pro. He’s sporting an adorably badass Daredevil costume based on the recent Netflix series.

He’s obviously too young to watch the show, but he apparently watched a couple of fight scenes and the trailer so he knows who Daredevil is, and that he’s a good guy trying to protect the city he loves.

Parker’s dad, of City Light Cosplay, put the costume together and is a huge fan of the series. He also took all the photographs of his son’s cosplay.

I also included a few other photos of Parker cosplaying some other characters such as Tony Stark, Finn, and Link.

Joss Whedon Shares His Excitement for BATMAN V SUPERMAN

0

joss-whedon-shares-his-excitement-for-batman-v-superman

During a recent interview with Yahoo!, Avengers: Age of Ultron writer/director Joss Whedon is asked about the teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and what he thought about it. His end response was filled with giddy geeky glee, and he excitedly exclaims "Batman and Superman are gonna fight! I’m so excited! I’m so excited!"

After the trailer was released, I saw a lot of complaints regarding the fact that two superheroes that fans love will be fighting each other. People don't seem to understand why that is the case. This is something that is also going to happen in Captain America: Civil War when Iron Man and Captain America face off, so this is just something that people are going to have to live with!

In regards to that, Whedon explains how Batman v Superman compares to Age of Ultron and the Marvel universe:

“I found [the trailer for ‘Batman v Superman’] interesting, because they’re bringing up a lot of issues that we bring up in ‘Age of Ultron’ and I think it’s inevitable. People with power, who are good, do not always agree and it makes perfect sense for me that [Batman and Superman] would fight.

Exactly, it's inevitable. Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are also asked if they saw the trailer for Batman v Superman, and even though they haven't they go on to amusingly discuss how it's not a fair fight. You can watch the interviews in the video below.
