Girlfriends and Sleepy Hollow actress Jill Marie Jones is set to star alongside Bruce Campbell in the Starz series Ash Vs. Evil Dead. She will be taking on the lead female role in the story.

Campbell is set to reprise his role as the title character Ash, “a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip.”

Jones will play a character named Amanda Fisher, and thanks to THR we have some information on the character that offers up even more new plot information. Fisher is described as a “disgraced Michigan state trooper who, following the grisly murder of her partner, sets out to find Ash and prove his responsibility for the crime. But as she soon learns, Ash and his cohorts may be mankinds only hope against the plague of the evil dead.”

Jones also joins Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet the Fockers) and Dana DeLorenzo (Growing Up Fisher), who are basically going to play a couple of Ash’s sidekicks. Sam Raimi is directing the pilot, and it will premiere some time later this year. Some additional information of the series was released yesterday, and if you missed it, you can read up on it here.

If there are any Game of Thrones fans out there that also love to play Monopoly, then this is your lucky day! The official Game of Thrones Monopoly board game is a reality, and it will be released later this year. 

The board looks cool, and features a map of Westeros in the middle. The tokens that players will play with include a direwolf, dragon egg, three-eyed raven, White Walker, crown, and of course, the Iron Throne. Also, instead of houses and hotels, the properties include keeps and villages.

Vie to hold dominion over the realms of men in the Game of Thrones Collector's Edition of MONOPOLY. Featuring infamous locations from the original dramatic television series, including Castle Black, Winterfell and King's Landing, players will buy, sell and trade their way to sit atop the Iron Throne.

We're all really curious to see what director David Ayer's and Jared Leto’s version of the Joker is going to be like in Suicide Squad. This will be the first time that we see the Crown Prince of Crime up on the big screen since the character was played by Heath Ledger. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, but I think Leto is going to be great in the role.

During an interview with Billboard, Leto discussed the Joker and how he’s preparing to take on the part. It’s interesting to note that he’s bulking up for the part.

"I'm trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours -- and I'm terrible at eating a lot.” 

I don’t think any of the actors who have played the Joker gained weight for the role, but Leto is a pretty skinny guy, so that might be the reason why. I don’t think we’re going to be seeing a juiced up Joker or anything. He went on to discuss what attracted him to the role:

"The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character -- that's what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? [He's] this beautiful disaster of a character -- what a big challenge." 

I love his description of the character as a "beautiful disaster." The Joker is one of my favorite villains of all time, and I really do hope that they get him right in Suicide Squad. Ayer is a very gritty and hardcore director, so I imagine that that is going to be the kind of Joker that we see in the movie. 

I wonder how different this version will be than Ledger’s Joker. Will he be a darker and crazier version? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. What do you hope to see from the character in this movie?

The rest of the Suicide Squad cast includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg. The movie hits theaters on August 5th, 2016.

The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is preparing for Star Wars Weekends in 2015, and today we have a fun poster promoting the event thanks to StarWars.com.

I've never had the opportunity to attend this event. I wish they would bring it to Disneyland, where I would actually be able to go to it, along with a lot of other fans who can't make it all the way to Florida. I've heard it's incredibly fun, though, and worth the journey if you can afford to take it.

Making Star Wars is back with more details regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Earlier this week, a huge spoiler broke that you can check out here if you want. I will warn you though, it could ruin the movie for you. The new information that we have for you today involves the opening sequences of the film, so if you don't want to know what they entail, don't read any further because it contains SPOILERS.

What you're about to read clarifies a lot of rumors that we've heard in the past. It also weaves in with some of those rumors as well. The site says they are "very confident" in the information that they've received, but let's treat it as a rumor until we see things for ourselves.

So here is the description from the report:

"The film does open with a lightsaber in space. It falls to the ground in a savannah environment during the day. It is quickly discovered by a farmer named Naka. Naka accidentally ignites the weapon and starts a fire with it. At first he runs, but then turns around and obtains the weapon. I assume he snatches the weapon so it is not destroyed in the fire. Naka then takes the weapon to his elder called The Vicar."

The site says that The Vicar is most likely being played by Max von Sydow and that the character contacts the Rebels. This brings Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) to the planet. They go on to explain:

"Later that night, Poe Dameron arrives and retrieves the lightsaber from The Vicar. The only problem? They’ve brought the Empire there as well (not sure if the Empire followed Poe or intercepted the initially [sic] transmission he received). Poe sees Stormtroopers are coming and he places the laser sword safely in a little droid: BB-8. The droid flees and the heroic Poe Dameron prepares to fight!

"Concurrently, a young Stormtrooper named Finn enters a situation that will drastically change his life forever. When his best friend dies in battle and he allows a few innocent villagers to escape, Kylo Ren orders him arrested and the village burned to the ground. Because Finn just isn’t naturally evil enough, he finds himself in the brig of a Star Destroyer with a Rebel pilot. Finn never learned to fly. Finn has the knowledge [of] how to get out of the brig and Poe is their best chance to fly out of there. They hatch a plan to steal a TIE Fighter and make a run for it."

If you've been keeping up on all of the rumors surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you can see how things are shaping up here, and this description seems to make sense of all of the scattered rumors that have leaked. 

This is all exciting stuff! This has been a fun project to follow since it was first announced, and before we know we'll be sitting in a theater watching all of this stuff unfold before our eyes! The movie comes out on December 18th.

Sesame Street has a fantastic Birdman parody that they've created called "Bigbird Man: The Unexpected Virtue of Orange Pants." In place of Michael Keaton's Riggan Thomson, we have Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer behind Big Bird, in the main role, as he's being haunted by Bigbird.

For your Oscar consideration: A veteran puppeteer, who plays an avian icon, battles his ego and attempts to find his way back to a certain furry and friendly street. This is 'Big Birdman.'

The parody was posted by The Watercooler, and it gets all of the details of the Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film right from the musical score to the single-take shot. I think this video is geared more towards adults than kids, and I think a lot of you will get a kick out of it. 

Director Bryan Singer is gearing up to start shooting X-Men: Apocalypse in Montreal soon, and he has shared a photo that teases another piece of concept art. The illustration that he's looking at int he photo features Professor X wearing a newly designed Cerebro helmet. There's no doubt that over time we'll learn of even more surprises that Singer has in store. The photo came with the following caption:

"Working on designs from home a month ago. Getting ready for the long-haul in Montreal. #TBT#XmenApocalypse"

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, and Nicholas Hoult are all set to reprise their roles in the film, and will be joined newcomers Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, who will be playing young versions of Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. Then there's Oscar Isaac, who will be playing the villain, Apocalypse.

The film is being written by Simon Kinberg from a treatment he wrote with Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris. The film is set in the 1980s, and it will conclude the trilogy that started with X-men: First Class. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27th, 2016. 

The latest episode of the web series PBS Space Time asks the question, “Is it irrational to believe in aliens?” I personally would like to think that we aren’t alone in the vast universe. Well, the host of the web series, Gabe Perez-Giz, attempts to give us an answer to this question, and in the process breaks down the theories and facts that are for and against the belief that there is intelligent life out there in the Universe. The host even pulls out the heavy guns and explains the Drake equation and the Fermi paradox and how they apply to this argument. The video is incredibly fascinating. Check it out, and let us know if you think intelligent life exists in other parts of the universe. 

Universal Pictures has released a pulse-pounding international trailer for James Wan's Furious 7. The movie looks ridiculously fun, and I'm betting that it will end up being the best film in the franchise. Only time will tell if that turns out to be true, but with Wan behind the camera, there's a really good chance that this will be the case. I also included a TV spot.

The movie will be released in theaters on April 3rd. It stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Lucas Black, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tony Jaa, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou, and John Brotherton and includes a cameo by Iggy Azalea.

Since Spider Gwen was introduced into the spiderverse, I've been a big fan of her costume design. It's just so damn cool. I came across this fabulous cartoonish fan illustration of the character, which was created by Julio Cesar.

If Sony Pictures ever wants to make a Spider Gwen film, I'd be all for it! They should at least consider doing it as an animated movie, even if it was straight to DVD. That's what Warner Bros. has been doing successfully for years. Would you be interested in a movie that centers around Spider Gwen?

Since Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been in production, there have been a ton of rumors and spoilers leaking out. We even posted one earlier this morning regarding how the movie opens. We've considered all of these leaked spoilers rumors, but in a new interview with director J.J. Abrams, he confirms that some of those spoilers are actually true. 

This is what the director told the BBC when they caught up with him at the Oscar Wilde Awards in Los Angeles.

"There are a ton of rumours – some true, some false. But I’m grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie. I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself."

I thought it was interesting that he says he's grateful for everyone who would reads the spoilers. So you have his blessing to read them if you want. As a huge fan myself, it's hard not to! There's only one spoiler that I've managed to avoid, and it has to do with the ending of the film. He went on to give an update on the status of the film, saying:

"I can’t wait for you to see it. It’s been a blast working on this and luckily we have an incredible post-production team. There are always challenges as you go but it’s been a complete kick to put this together."

If I would have to guess which rumors are true and which are false, I'd say the earlier rumors that went around before the film production began are false, but I think there's a good chance that the rumors that came late in the production of the film are true.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th.

"Roommate Wanted - Dead or Alive" is a spectacularly silly claymation short film that follows a struggling medical student who “gets way more than he bargained for when his new roommate moves in,” which happens to be a zombie.  The film is a graduation project that comes from Lærke Kromann and David Crisp of The Animation Workshop. 

The story is filled with a lot of great comedy that involves the living character trying to deal with his zombie roommate as he continues to grossly decay and fall apart. The short film is guaranteed to deliver you some fun entertainment. 

Even though we've seen a lot of cool footage from Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, there's still so much that we don't know about the movie. Thanks to Empire and an interview they conducted with Joss Whedon, we have some additional interesting information regarding Ultron's powers and limitations. He also talked a little bit about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Asked if he played with Ultron's powers in the film, he said,

“Yeah, I did. The powers in comic books – they’re always like, ‘And then I can reverse the polarity of your ions!’ – well, we have to ground things a lot more. With Ultron, we have to make him slightly less omnipotent because he’d win. Bottom line. Also, having weaknesses and needs and foibles and alliances and actually caring what people think of him, all these things, are what make him a character and not just a tidal wave. A movie about a tidal wave can be great, but it’s different than a conflict between one side and the other. When Ultron speaks, he has a point. He is really not on top of the fact that the point he’s making has nothing to do with the fact that he’s banoonoos. And that he hates the Avengers for bringing him into this world, and he can’t really articulate that or even understand how much he hates humanity. He thinks he’s all that. That guy is very fun to write. He combines all the iconic stuff. The powers he has are slightly different – he can control certain things, he’s not just firing repulsors.”

This is what I love about Whedon and his work. He actually thinks about stuff like this and pulls out these great little details about characters that a lot of other directors and storytellers don't. He goes the extra mile to takes things to a deeper level. 

Whedon then went on to talk about how he handled the origin of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

“They have an origin but it’s largely described. They’re already good to go by the time we’re up and running. You don’t want to fall into Spider-Man 3 territory – and I say that as a guy who actually thinks pretty well of that movie, there’s some great stuff in that movie – but there comes a point where you’re overloaded with frontstory, backstory, origin story and it becomes very hard to juggle. My instinct is always, ‘Don’t put in more, work with what you have.’ But I insisted on putting in more in this movie because I felt I needed more villains. I needed someone for Ultron to talk to, and I need more trouble for the Avengers. As powerful as Ultron is, if he builds more Ultrons, they’re Ultrons. There’s no reason for him to ever to talk to them because they’re him. ‘I need you to – I KNOW! I AM TOTALLY YOU! I DID IT EARLIER! I know that because I am also me.’ That’s not a good conversation. Actually, it sounded pretty good there. I think I’m onto something.”

I'm excited for the addition of these two characters. They are really going to add a great dynamic, not just to this movie, but to the Marvel cinematic universe as a whole. I wonder if they'll show up in any of the other, non-Avengers Marvel films. Age of Ultron will be released on May 1st.

Carol Danvers, Sharon Ventura, Karla Sofen, and Kamala Khan are the four Marvel comic characters to wear the mask and be called... Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Moonstone. All will be streamlined in the Marvel cineverse with the Captain Marvel movie coming in 2018 that will focus on Danvers.

The Ms. Marvel Best of Cosplay collection from two years ago only featured nine photos from seven cosplay artists. After collecting images for two years and searching through at least 2,500 photos, we now have a new collection with 33 photos from 29 cosplay artists.

Will Hollywood never learn? One of the very first things that I learned in my college screenwriting class was KNOW YOUR ENDING! Well, the production of Mission: Impossible 5 has halted production because the movie doesn't have an ending. 

You'd think you would want to have a solid, ironclad script before you start on a big budget production like Mission: Impossible 5. The shooting process would run a hell of a lot more smoothly, and it would guarantee that the studio would save money.

According to THR, a source claims that the director, Christopher McQuarrie, was "scrambling" to come up with an ending that would work. But a Paramount representative had this to say:

"Chris, Tom [Cruise] and a third person wanted to take a minute to get from what they thought was a good place to a more perfect place."

Of course that's what a studio rep would say. I'm sure there's a lot more drama going on behind the scenes than we actually know. The studio obviously has confidence in the film, though, since they recently moved the release date up from Christmas of this year to July 31st.

If you remember, Paramount Pictures had a similar issue with their zombie epic World War Z. They managed to figure it all out, though, and it became a big hit. I know that Mission: Impossible 5 will turn out fine, and they'll figure something out, but the fact that they didn't have a solid ending before they started shooting is crazy. That's Hollywood for you!

The video is loaded with all kinds of cool information that I didn't know about, and it's a must watch for any fan of this classic film.

A new image has surfaced from Marvel's Daredevil series, and it teases a little connection to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The image features a boxing match poster with two names on it. The first is Battlin’ Jack Murdock, who is the father of Matt Murdock, and the second name is Carl “Crusher” Creel, which some of you might recognize as the supervillain known as the Absorbing Man.

The reveal is interesting because it raises a few questions about the new series’ chronology. Especially since Creel already debuted in the Marvel universe at the start of the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He was played by Brian Patrick Wade. Wade is only a few years older than Charlie Cox. I guess there's a possibility that Wade may have actually been playing Carl Creel Jr.?

I'm sure it will all be revealed. It's going to be fun to see how these upcoming Netflix series connect to to everything else that has been going on. It's all part of the fun of watching all these Marvel productions.

A few weeks ago, a trailer for Kristen Wiig's new dramedy Welcome To Me hit the web and was quickly pulled down; presumably, it was a trailer made in an attempt to secure distribution for the movie and not something meant to be seen by the general public. But now an official trailer has been released by Alchemy (formerly Millennium Entertainment), and sadly, this one isn't as good as the leaked trailer.

Wiig plays a woman who wins the lottery and starts her own talk show, but because she has Borderline Personality Disorder, things don't quite turn out as planned. It looks like there's some funny stuff here, and since I've seen another trailer that makes the whole thing look a lot more lighthearted, I imagine this will be a bit better than this makes it seem. Then again, maybe this new trailer is more representative of the actual tone of the film, and the studio was trying to give people more accurate expectations. (Seems like a rare move for a studio these days, but it's possible.)

The team at Dorkly have put together another funny comic, this one taking aim at Batman himself. The character is often referred to as The World's Greatest Detective (I feel like Sherlock Holmes might have something to say about that if the two ever met), but if you actually take a solid look at The Dark Knight's methods, they aren't exactly the most, shall we say, legal means of bringing bad guys to justice.
